Thanks @pkml3! I trust you and your family are having a great outing or series of outings with a hike to walk and apple festival to attend.
Hi All!!!
I’m checking with all of us (I think again) … how do we feel about our next Rewatch show being the cdrama, ‘Mobius’???? The link to info on the show from MDL below. It seems it’s also called ‘Give Me Five’ – as in give me 5 chances to change the outcome, I’m guessing.
https://mydramalist.com/766293-give-me-five
I completed this show around two weeks ago and enjoyed it. I liked that it did sort of give an explanation to something ‘supernatural’ and that everything made sense in that drama world.
Half an hour more to our Party!!
Hello, I am here.
Hello….anyone there?
It’s time, I hope I’m not alone! Starting now!!
Hi @FF
Hi @FF! I felt kind of solitary there for a while.
I asked before but just double checking… what shall we watch after this? ‘Mobiu’? or something else?
Hi @GB
Hi @SD @GB. Let’s go.
Hey @SD!! Please see my first comment and let us know if you’re game to rewatch ‘Mobius’ or want to suggest another show for our next Party.
I did not watch Mobius, I am fine to go along if the rest are ok.
Hi GB, SD, FF.
Hi @WE!
Did you see that @pkml3 had a note to you on the ‘Genie Make a Wish’ thread??
Also, are you game to do a rewatch of ‘Mobius’ for the next party? Or have something else in mind?
Hi @WE.
@GB, @WE was asked to flay the writer lol.
The scene at around 6:53 reminds me of Van Gogh’s painting.
New bad guy is a teatcher-writer.
Because of a little luck, the elevator doors open?! hum.
This week’s episode is on facing a dilemma. The theme is on doing the right and the obvious thing – but the consequences make it difficult.
We se the pros and cons of knowing the future. To face or to avoid the difficult dilemma and risk losing one’s beloved job.
Hi @WE.
@GB, I do not have any other dramas in mind at the moment. I have mostly been trying to stay on top of a long list of dramas I have never seen while rewatching ones I find comforting (LOL). I would be willing to try this one, but am also open to others.
Woooo!!! I love that.
It’s difficult to read Lee just now.
Can be arrogance because disrespect.
Or he starts to have enough to do the dirty job?
@FF, I like that Snake-y Lee puts evil writer in his place. He was trying to be too entitled.
Timestamp 6.53? It was just the Snake and Writer Moon … which Van Gogh are you referring to? The self portrait?
@WE yes I liked that Lee refused to give in to Writer’s demands. And next we see that Hong Ju won’t let it slide that her bosses want to make the maknae run around to get coffee.
@GB. I couldn’t read this thread about “wish”.
But I will read that after rewatch.
I couldn’t watch “Mobius” yet but I could find the drama, so it’s just a question of time.
It’s supposed to be a complex time-travel drama, then, it would be nice for a rewatch.
I still have a doubt because it’s a cdrama, and I hope it’s more worth a rewatch than “reset”, and only you know it for now.
@GB, hahaha 6.53 was a blunder. I was at the wrong episode, oops.
@WE, I feel that ‘Mobius’ is okay for a rewatch, however there are some scenes that are so full of stuff going on, that we might end up watching more than commenting.
@FF, I too was wondering about the Van Gogh reference. My mind was ruffling through mental pictures of paintings to no avail. I was thinking maybe I did not remember my art as well as I thought I did!
Lee YB always takes on snakey cases. He must have a reputation for defending dubious characters.
@FF OIC LOL.
Today’s episode 11 is To Die or To Be Bad – I guess it refers to the dilemma that JC will face.
This episode is kind of sad in a way. We saw the student last episode in the lift with the little boy. He’s brain dead this week. And the little boy, Chan Ho is need of a kidney. Only in drama we have the donor and the recipient in the same lift and talking to each other as acquaintances for a moment.
@SD, LOL. I really don’t know that much art but I kind of know some Van Gogh.
So this week JC gets a chance to have the home care that he resented Woo Tak receiving before. However, it does not go according to plan. HJ’s mum is behaving strangely.
The scene Lee/Writer was well build.
First he askes for the coffee.
Then it doesn’t resolve quickly and takes time to make grow Lee anger. For example with the next comment about “how he needs to get better management”.
Now there is a small comedy scene with JC and imaginary character seeing “live” on the bed.
This episode is so poignant. The young boy collapses in the middle of the four adults ribbing one another.
Since I am watching this for the first time (and was out of town last week), I have not yet finished this drama. I got stuck on this episode. Some of the research projects I was working on when I was employed where transplant patient projects and even when you are just looking at numbers, it is a difficult business. I will finish this episode with you all today,
@SD, sorry for the confusion my bad 😛
@FF, yes LYB seems to only want cases where the bad guys are in his debt and he has power over them or can get a load of cash.
This episode it’s not only HJ’s mum, but HJ herself who’s acting a bit weird, and JC’s imagination is going crazy.
Oh damn-it, the father of the boy at hospital: I’m almost sure this old actor only get roles with his child dying. I need to check that, but I can’t think about him in another situation.
@SD, yes, this is a poignant and sad episode. Such a fine young man, gets ‘killed’. Heart-breaking that his father chooses the man’s own birthday to be the day they pull the plug on him and harvest his organs.
At the same time we have a young child who needs a kidney.
The high-concept is mostly used for individual cases now. What of course isn’t my way or what I like most about a high-concept. I think SJJ would do it in a more elaborate way, with a main situation evolving and many dreams interacting and changing over time, instead of a small stories. Something mind-blowing. However, writer Park focus more on evolution of characters while doing something emotional around the case.
Confort scene with sheep and couples in a field.
I like the OST song on this.
HJ’s mum now disapproves of JC, why? Afraid that he will bring bad luck to HJ?
@WE, the old actor gets roles that are not too flattering.
@WE, I’m not sure but this actor who plays the dying boy’s father was also the dad in the show (Signal?) where he shields his son although he knew his son was a murderer?
Now both Woo Tak and HJ realise that they are dreaming about the same thing that JC will have to face. At least it’s more than 1 person who dreams the same incident and they can talk about it.
Ah! Just before they talk about dreams and a choice, guess what: they come first at an intersection in the field with two paths. ahah!
How to use the setting in a symbolic way.
@WE, Now HJ is into avoidance… going to a farm to run away.
I love the nonsense scene of the other couple being irritatingly affectionate and cutesy in public. They were in another show together and are really hamming it up to show up JC’s less romantic style.
@WE Yes! I noted the fork in the path … the dilemma comes up now.
At last HJ tells him because he had overheard their dreams – but they still want to run away from the future.
@WE, I remember that field as being much later in this episode. What I liked about that scene with the obvious two paths (each of which lead to JC not being a prosecutor) is that the couple is in the middle, up the hill, suggesting a path through the field, i.e., a more tortuous path that might avoid the pitfalls of the obvious choices.
Oh, the other couple in the field rings a bell. It’s two famous actors as guest. Male actor was in Six flying Dragon and Cleaning passion.
Scene in the field: I would do something “woo!”: instead to choose a path, he walks right in the middle, in the field and not a path!!
@SD, oh yeah? So there would be a flashback later?
I forgot, I’m curious to see that now.
@SD, that other couple LOL… JC was so rude to them just because they were overly lovey-dovey and he wasn’t.
The girl in irritating couple is Lee Sung Kyung?
HJ is trying to prevent JC from going to work, so that he does not have to take on the case of the writer and his student and the organ donation situation.
@WE @D, I like the idea of walking our own path in that field instead of following either well-trodden road.
Now we find that JC is no longer welcome in HJ’s home and his path has to change to return to his own home.
@FF, Yes that was Lee Sung Kyung. She and Yoon Kyun Sang did a cameo for this show. I thought at first they had played a couple in an earlier show but I cannot find it in MDL.
@WE, @GB, I think I have already fallen behind and am remembering that scene as being later than it is….
I stopped watching right at the attempt to decide if an autopsy is necessary. I will watch it all the way through today, but may not comment as much.
From JC’s brother’s conversation with his schoolmate, we get the hint that Lee YB is involve in fabricating evidence causing an innocent doctor to be wrongfully indicted.
This bad writer is an IT shop owner in my W2 screenplay. ^^
LOL JC dressed to the nines in suit and tie, with hair all slicked back and pretending to be dressed for the beach. They both know that they cannot ‘not’ face the dilemma.
This bastard is happy to see a child pissing his pant. Well, looks worst than killing a cat.
@FF, yes, I like how this Writer sets up early for the future scenes. Like the one on fabricating evidence. It popped up really early and also last episode.
Now fortunately Woo Tak has the dreams and can save the little boy from Writer Killer Moon.
After the suspenseful scene with the child we get a funny scene with HJ and her direct boss. He’s scared of her LOL.
Hand on shoulder, romance on the way. Ahaha.
More funny scenes, JC does not get the welcome he had anticipated. I think he’d have gotten it, if not for the situation at the hospital with Chan Ho.
Oh dear, Prosecutor Lee shouts too much. He now reveals the secrets of others but he did not tell Pros Son that he too had lied about being a Christian.
So no beach trip after all. The writer is sick in the head, mentally tormenting a child.
@WE while 1 romance is forming, we get Hyang Mi giving JC only her back LOL.
The only warm welcome he gets is from Mr Choi LOL. He wants a hug.
He immediately gets the ‘dilemma’ case.
ok. I am at the irritating couple scene with their matching pink outfits and the pink flowers. I noticed at the bus stop that JC and HJ also match; her pumpkin colored skirt matches his shirt nearly exactly. He only offers her a bit of seeded grass though, LOL, understated couple as they are.
@SD, yes the other couple really showed up how lacking JC’s romance seemed LOL.
For some time now we see that JC’s colleagues don’t really like his style of working. He’s careful about investigating etc. But in the future, his style is what makes a difference to a case and everyone should feel ashamed that their criteria for work well done was only that they had no tall piles of cases, unlike JC.
We also get the lawyer son situation. It’s juggling with different things.
Now, Lee learns he has to fight JC, AGAIN!!
Ahaha, maybe he could become self-aware and guess he’s in a kdrama and it’s why he has always to fight him?!! 😀
@SD, yes they had matching color outfit too, their colors seem richer yet their interactions are mild.
@WE there was just another self-aware character in the kmovie, Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy. Full of game action with items and monsters. Quite exciting. Had Anh Hyo Seop and Lee Min Ho in it.
JC wisely calls in all the prosecutors to discuss the dilemma so that he’s not alone in deciding … ultimately of course he does have to decide. He learnt this from Mr Choi from the previous case ie to let the senior prosecutors in on giving advice.
It’s high on moral dillema and conflicts coming from this.
On the one hand we have LYB acting like ‘god’ carelessly getting culprits off… while herewith the prosecutors we have more caring people who want to be just and fair. It’s a struggle but we see Prosecutor Son agreeing that the autopsy should be done, even though it costs her greatly.
Such an contrast to what LYB does. Oh dear silly Pros Lee is shouting again. He’s nothing except an ball of emotions and gets all worked up uselessly.
JC’s case will also be a difficult one for his colleague Prosecutor Son.
@GB, I have been meaning to watch the Omniscient Reader movie. My youngest son had it on his phone so I loaded it as well, though I am not very far in it. I always get bored looking at my phone…
@FF Pros Son chooses justice over her own personal wants. She sees things from the other parent’s point of view as well and chooses what is right (ie “To Die”) rather than “To Do Bad” as in today’s episode title.
Actually JC has done his research already and knows what he will decide. He’s also forging his own path through the minefield of dilemma.
@SD, Omniscient Reader will definitely look better on a big screen. It’s so chock full of stuff and action. It’s hard to catch it on a phone screen.
@SD; we don’t get the flashback in the field yet, but the cliffhanger concludes with the “other way solution”. Then, it’s even best than the idea I mentionned. It’s this idea, but revealed later as a flashback. I mean, there is an idea, but what matters is how to use it. And I think it’s really better to not reveal it in the field scene.
@WE, Yes, delaying the reveal of the good idea is definitely a better decision. Also delaying showing us that HJ had also advised to choose the middle path or to do both the autopsy and save the lives of 7 people.
He forged his own path, to perform the autopsy and organ donation at the same time.
@FF yes… and I’m impatient to watch the next episode even though I’ve watched it already!
@GB, find the video about great Director David Lynch about watching movies on smartphone. It really made him going in anger.
I’m not so triggered, but yet, I think it’s better to watch that on a bigger screen. A large computer monitor for example. Small screend reduces a lot watching experience. 😉
@WE, Yes, I can imagine how frustrating it is when the film maker has made the show for the big screen with so much detail but people miss much of the detail because they watch on their phones.
It was not anything special but a satisfying watch nevertheless and the CG was good.
OK I’ll be heading off to bed now. Goodbye all and see you next week!
So far we’ll still focus on ‘Mobius’ for the next Rewatch unless something else comes up that’s better.
@GB, good night.
Just thinking about the way a transplant would work, I have been puzzling about why they couldn’t do an autopsy AND do the transplants. Obviously I need to watch the next episode…
Goodbye everybody. It’s time for me to go now too.
I wish you all a good week!!
Bye @GB, @WE (and @FF?) See you all next week!
Hello everyone — I am so sorry I missed the session, I got my days mixed up and was out.
Hi @IB
No worries. Just read and comment after the Party. Not everyone can make it here every week, but we certainly try and the party 🥳🥰😎😝 goes on even if there’s just 1 person!!! (Which I hope never comes to that). 😜😬🙂↔️
