So here we are at the end… a bitter-sweet ending but mostly sweet. And a nice wrap up for most everyone.

Meet you here in 12 hours’ time!!!

  2. I have a talk to attend this evening, will join if I get home in time. Hope to see you all.

  3. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @FF, okay… hope to see you tonight!

  4. HI GB and FF

  5. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Hi @WE, you’re 4 minutes early.

  6. OOF Nearly missed the time — looking up from a frying egg its 900!

  7. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @IB, you’re also in early.

I’m watching Ep 14 of our next drama R:WotS.

  8. I am at 11ep of rwots

  9. @GB you are ahead, I’m at Ep13 πŸ˜‰

  10. Hi, IF.
It hits hard, isn’t it ?
I wasn’t remembering it was so harsh all the way.

  11. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Heh @WE, we’re all trying to get in a watch before the rewatch!

It’s time to start the last Episode of WYWS!!! NOW!

  12. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I was telling @MM that I deliberately watched in such a way as to not become an emotional wreck. I read reviews that gave me fair warning.

  13. I’m only at episode six but I have already watched it four years ago.

I am getting my knee in gear for a walking day! Ice packs work wonders and I get to sit and watch something on my tablet.

  14. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @MM, are you home with icepacks on our knee now? So you can join us for a while?

  15. They are trying to corner Lee.

  16. I am.
Waiting for my daughter to surface from the basement. So we can do word games before we go out.

So yes I will be here briefly.

  17. Hi MM.

A watch or a rewatch is really needed before the rewatch party. Here, I didn’t rewatch last episode of WYWS and it’s simple, I was lost during the rewatch, because I can’t keep full concentration while writing and reading.

  18. And ..haein steals the show! That is what I meant by a memory of imbalance GB.

  19. Oh The Cop secret was he’s daltonian (see colors as grey, or maybe confuse red and green, something like that).

  20. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB, sorry… I don’t get the reference to memory imbalance.

However I like this scene where being colour blind does not mean seeing less always but being able to differentiate shades even at night.

His testimony held so much more weight. It all rested on those umbrellas.

  21. @WE I agree. And better to complete it before the rewatch starts or else I end up being confused About what has already happened or not.

  22. Hi MM!

  23. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, yes, the cop Woo Tak should not have been admitted into the police academy since he cannot really differentiate some colours.

  24. @GB, being hit by the drama truck and become an emotional wreck is precisely the goal, LOL !! You spoil your experience. πŸ˜€

  25. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM, yes I have to rewatch 1 or 2 episodes at a time just before the Party. If I go too far ahead, I start accidentally spoiling the show for others with my comments.

  26. Hello IB GB WE

    Oh yes the umbrellas!

  27. At the beginning my main memory of the first watch years back was that the camera loves haein’s face so much that it didn’t register in the end as a 2 lead drama, but as 3, with his scenes very prominent. Your response was ‘interesting” so I left it at that.

  28. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, my aim of watching a Party show is to have a fun time discussing the show and not be weeping πŸ˜πŸ˜©πŸ˜«πŸ˜–πŸ˜£ in front of the screen. πŸ˜†πŸ˜‡πŸ€ͺ

Worse, to be so angry or sad that I cannot write/type coherently!!!

  29. @GB, so you have to cry all you have during the watching before the rewatch. Like that, it’s done! πŸ˜‰

  30. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB… ah the memory imbalance! You felt it was a 2 male lead drama because Park Hae In appeared so much. Well there are 3 main actors in this drama. But the weightage still is heavier for Jong Suk.

  31. Lee complains that the world is cruel against him.
SERIOUSLY, after all the bad he does to the world!
    What a nerve.

  32. Love the scene in the bathroom where yb tries to reassure himself ‘it will be allright’. Best dramas have the best villains, like peter lorre in m, we need to recognize them as. Both evil and pathetic/worthy os pathos if only momentarily.

  33. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Well @WE, I’ve cried over Mr Choi too … here he is trying once again to stop someone younger from going totally on the wrong path without turning back. He could not stop his younger brother and now he tries to stop Snake Lee…

Poignant and sad. And then the young chap who saved him comes along… he sees JC.

  34. @WE When I rewatched the first six episodes last week , I kept thinking about your comment about it being a show that makes one want to rAGesmash the TV. vERY APT!

  35. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, Snake Lee is one of those entitled brats who thinks the world owes him. That was his problem from the start even as a kid.

  36. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB Snake Lee had his chance to make a fresh decision but refused. His washing his hands until they bled tells us he is destroying himself.

The sentimental music as Mr Choi picks up the fallen autumn leaf!!!

  37. @MM, yeah. πŸ˜€

Choi is hit by a car.
Mmmmmhh. WHO drives the car, is it Lee ?
Seems like Choi will die on this.

  38. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I wonder what was the point of smashing into Mr Choi… just to take revenge or thumb his nose at Mr Choi’s advice? Since he’s going down, he might as well be hanged for a sheep as for a lamb?

  39. Hello everyone, where are you now?

  40. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @FF! You made it! I’m at 22 minutes now.

  41. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

So @WE, did you screenshot any of Lee Jong Suk’s crying scenes? He’s in tears for some 4-5 minutes here.

  42. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

MR Choi: “Blame yourself for a short time but remember for a long time.” Were these also the words HJ wrote in a note to JC when they were kids?

  43. LJS cries but he has blood on him.
Hum, I can screenshot for scenes with blood or screenshot before he put his hand on his face adding more blood.

It looks like this death can’t be encapsulated in a dream, because CHOI already got the dream but JC was saying something else. So the trick can’t work.

    Choi says “it’s my choice”.
So in french: c’est mon Choix. πŸ™‚

  44. Beautiful.slowly choi’s voiceover…remembers his dream but we see the leaf not the dream, then his younger self in the bed, then back to se JC, then suddenly movement of the car very fast. Camera takes us out, then in, then to dramatic moment.

No one can rival LJS for still being lovely when ugly-crying.

  45. uh at scene where Mr. Choi was run over. JC with all the blood on his face.

  46. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, yes that was a ‘bloody’ mess of crying LOL.

Mr Choi chose to look forJC, knowing that the end would be like that.

  47. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Now we get the cathartic scene reprising JC and HJ at the funeral halls when they were teenagers. With the couple OST “I Need Your Love”??

  48. @GB, LJS cries with an intensity close of what I need. Of course, I would prefer even more dramatic. LOL.

  49. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF I like how Show wraps up the end of the time of the 3 ie JC, HJ and Mr Choi. The two of them are again the ones to comfort each other.

Then Show moves on to other scenes and transitions to happier things.

  50. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, you’ll need sound together with those screenshots to be dramatic. The sound of his crying hits the heart.

Actually same things can be said about Yoo Seung Ho crying. He cries beautifully and wrings the heart (I refuse to let it wring mine … there’s so much wringing to go through!!!)

  51. @GB, back to the funeral hall scenes but this time its HJ comforting JC instead.

  52. Ohhhh an adorable white and black cat. Meeeoowww!

  53. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, Show gives us a nice intermission between the death of Mr Choi and the rest of life continuing. The dreams never end for HJ but she foresees happier things.

  54. @GB, the problem is I need tons of screenshots with LJS crying because he gets a lot of problem in Ws2 and at one point he cries half of the time. πŸ™

So, Lee was a bit crazy to do what he did.
He could maybe escape some problems, but he put himself his head into a bigger shit with this murder by car.

  55. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, yes that’s right. It brings us back full circle … JC gives and now HJ gives. They have a good give and take relationship.

  56. FF maybe yb hit choi with his car because he was so horrifying delulu that he thought that like in other dramas, the corrupt create enough chaos so that the rats escape…or something like that. Such a relief here that we aren’t in that kind of nightmare.

  57. @IB, I like Jee Jong Suk’s hair, thick with volume and wavy.

  58. Lee has nothing better to do that poisoning JC mind with random past affairs. This guy is such a nuisance.

  59. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

It’s so frustrating that Snake Lee excuses himself as someone who made mistakes and got found out.

I like so much JC’s closing comments that put Snake in his place. He did not make mistakes he chose intentionally to be bad. He insisted that the wrong decisions were right.

  60. Wow even in the interrogation room yb making a try at relative truth, relative justice.

    You’re just bad, hyung.

  61. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, Lee still has the gall to call everyone to listen to him just to vent and crow over them as if he did good but only got caught, and to say that they are the same as him.

  62. Ah. This scene is good.
JC tells his truth to Lee.
Lee has to swallow all of that, knowing it’s the truth.
Well, again, no redemption arc for the villain.

  63. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

In court I like the expression on JC’s brother’s face. He’s so proud of his prosecutor hyung.

But a moment of pathos as people miss Mr Choi’s presence.

  64. Great music for courtroom plus in this part, strings.

  65. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, then we get another nice couple of interludes… courtroom and then JC in bed.

And the link up with Woo Tak again.

  66. Too cute parallel of both boys in bed being woken by our now cheerful rational fl. One looking so romantic and one so unshaven.

    Robin!!!

  67. YB is just bad and nothing else.

    Omg, JC is so fair.

  68. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

It’s so nice that people who are unrelated take such good care of each other. HJ and JC give Woo Tak books and Mum takes care of Woo Tak’s meals.

  69. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hey, everyone… what is the link between Woo Tak and JC’s shaking hand… and why did bringing the books to WT stop the shakes?

  70. JC’s yelp is so cute after being pinched by HJ.

  71. There is a final come back of Kim So-Hyun.
    AAAAHHH YEEEEESSSSSSSSSS !!!!

  72. The wrap-ups framed by hj’s notes of dream phrases on her window.

Will she/they keep dreaming so intensely?

  73. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

1 year later … now we come to the nice scenes showing us the characters from the previous cases. Everyone of some importance in the show is given a chance to be seen and smile for the camera.

  74. Hurray the best wedding ever!

  75. I need to learn how to do Japchae.
I already know where I can buy the transulcent pasta.

  76. Yes guys why did the shakes stop?

  77. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE… here’s the nice wrap up for any show… return to the start ie when Mum was scoring Woo Tak against JC.

Then everyone looks to be doing okay. So in the next ‘dream’ the words JC will have an even greater impact… ie all things will pass. In the end the crying will give way to smiles.

  78. Is it this ‘pass kindness forward’ sequence which explains that?

  79. Deadly pretty KSH whips with the tie. hearts-hearts-hearts. πŸ˜€

  80. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I like how Soo Yoon returns and reprises the scene of HJ picking up the scarf of Hyang Mi by picking up the necktie.

Oh dear back to the ‘poop’ talk between the girls as if they never were apart for over a year.

  81. Omg the lipstick!!

For me the observation window is practically a character too, so glad it got a final appearance!

  82. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB Yes, something like that… those whose lives were touched by JC turn up at the end.

  83. Well, she animates the mariage on piano.
Always useful to have expert musician in the family. πŸ™‚

  84. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Yes, it was such a similar necktie whipping as HJ’s scarf whipping Hyang Mi.

  85. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

IB that lipstick colour was just sooo red. It gave everyone a scare LOL.

  86. WE, that great cat is always in the home neighborhood on a dividing wall. She gives a sign of a nice breathing space coming up or maybe just past?

    What a good romance.

  87. The girls are still arguing over poop!

  88. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, funny how HJ never let go of that ‘poop’. Heheheh!

  89. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

So now at the very end, we find out that the time JC first saw HJ at the bus stop, he thought she looked familiar and he gave up his taxi in order to ‘disturb’ her at the bus stop. What cute expressions they had then.

  90. Last thought, we are about to start a real father’s and sons structure in RWotS. This one used siblings as an underlying structure…much harder to carry off.

But the idea of illusions and dreams best interpreted in company was a perfect match to it

  91. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, are you too busy to get Grok to translate more of R:WotS?

  92. It ends on a flashback. Not sure about that.
It’s to say he’s close to recognize her as child.
Then, not sure he follow her on purpose on the bench.

  93. @GB, I’m still working on the damn GrokAI protocol.
I hope it’s ready soon, so I can just translate.
    I can’t resume all problems I had.
But well, I have to endure that and continue.

  94. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

We already have the new thread for Episode 1 of R:WotS up.

@WE will have to tell us what you liked so much about that show besides how it brings in all the feels.

  95. We say goodbye to our cute JC here, next week will be Yoo Seung Ho and Park Min Young.

  96. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, you did a great job for the IHYV script. Can’t use the same ‘commands’ with Grok AI?

  97. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, yes, and YSH and PMY are another very pretty couple. She’s acting as if she’s older though, by some 4-5 years.

  98. @GB, but she is older isn’t she?

  99. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    @FF yes PMY’s birth year is 1986 to YSH’s 1993.

  100. Re the ‘rewatch for the rewatch’timing. I think I found a good recipe for me today.
I watched just this episode alone yesterday. The intervening sleep seems to have made thought and feeling knit together more usefully.

Will try for RWotS: watch it all for the wash cycle of anger and tears (poor monmori really bent her ear on the vp rape trial a day back!!,), do pre watch for single eps leaving a day of brain rest.

  101. @GB, no, I can’t use the same because diffs in format and writing style.
Anyway, I’ll do it!! And before next week!! Not all episodes but at least first ones.

I’ve to go now, but will come back during this week.
    bye bye, see you soon.

  102. Bye @WE and the rest. See you next week.

  103. Bye WE, FF, GB.

  104. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB, yes that’s a good plan. I’m just trying to get the whole sweep of R:WotS down first then will take more time episode by episode.

I was prewarned about the emotional upheaval it would cause and so took precautions LOL.
