Happy holidays to all🎄🌲🎄
I won’t be joining you today. My Son and his wife are still visiting. Hopefully , they will be able to fly tomorrow🤶
@MM Season’s Greetings and a Blessed Christmas to you and your family.
Is the weather stopping travel?
We had lots of snow yesterday and it was slippery underneath the snow.
We’re supposed to get more snow tomorrow. It has also been windy , so we all have our fingers crossed.🤞
@GB BesT wishes to you and your family.🎄✝️
@MM, I will add a little prayer for ‘safer’ conditions to aid travel. 🙏 😄
Thank you. My 30 week pregnant daughter in law is intrepid and went out walking in the snow covered ice conditions. I was so happy when they returned. She is used to wet west coast weather!
Me, on the other hand, cowered at home with my hand on my knee!
HI @GB, I am here, waiting for your cue.
There is a long repeat of the ending of the last episode.
Hi Everyone! Start now or 5 minutes ago!!!
Hi @IB, yes the lead in to our episode…
Hello everybody.
I can’t join today, as I’ve friends at home.
I wish you a good rewatch!
Okay @WE, we will miss you! Have a good time with friends!
@IB, I like the violins in the OST.
Now the baddies get worried since the one who knows their secrets is loose and free.
@WE, best wishes of the season, see you next week.
HI @GB & @IB, the long recap is good for me… coz I missed last week’s rewatch. lol
Such a good joke that Nam GM wants to see Jin Woo right then and JW calmly walks in.
Fortunate for him that Nam’s sister is there. He does not do violent stuff in front of her.
Hi @FF, so you can tell what’s happened and so in this episode, Nam GM really has it out for Jin Woo. Especially since JW challenges him to his face.
@GB, Oh this is the ultimate violin episode! Listen a little later for muted drums behind the crisis of conscience for Soo Beom and Dongho.
Wow, lots of swift conversations in this part.
We find out something interesting… Nam Dad will beat up his son, but at the same time, he does everything to protect NGM and to get him to take control of the company.
I hope I am at the right episode, NGM asking to see the lawyer who defended the old VP and he sees the lawyer walking in with his sister.
Park DH trying to explain to NGM that his father cares for him in an indirect way, hoping that will stop NGM from pursuing the case.
Sweater Dad is in a suit again!
I really dont understand why for NGM, knowing his dad has his back doesnt somehow calm NGM down.
Or at least counterbalance the face-off with JW.
Well, I guess beating up people and killing them makes him feel better.
@IB while we have bad Nam Dad still trying to be a good dad to his awful son, we have good son JW trying to save his Dad who can’t even help himself.
Then we have pseudo father and son, Park DH and Thug Suk Il Joo, who are the ‘dogs’ serving the evil Nams.
Then we even get a scene of NGM trying to be extra respectful towards his Dad. That’s the one rare humane quality… that he has regard for his Dad while being scared of him.
@FF yes that’s the right episode… 7.
@IB, it was mentioned a bit later that NGM has anger management issues. Not sure if he was ever properly diagnosed, but he did not go for therapy or he did go later.
Another elevator scene, I like them — the chaebol sister hasnt a clue….
I am not sure if the name is anger management when he regularly beats his friend.
When the old VP has given up hope and wants to leave the country, JW receives a call from a witness giving him hope for his father’s case.
NGM just likes to put people down, “You using English? Appeal? How do you spell appeal?”
@IB then just a love for violence at the slightest provocation.
@FF, that’s what this show does again and again. It builds up hope in JW and us and then pulls the rug out from under our feet. (I roll my eyes).
So instances of JW’s lapse in his fantastic memory is starting to show.
Meanwhile NGM is plotting to get at JW in some way or other.
@FF It’s ironic that the very good judge, the very bad chaebol and the lackey are actually friends and equal in education, I think… but turned out so differently.
People seem to meet a lot in the elevator, haha In Ah is so obviously interested in JW that Jung Ah can sense it so easily,
@GB, the bridge where you saw Gonho going over to the side of evil, this time Moo-suk comments (as did Boss Seok) on how they are all part of the same “corporate”/corporal group.
So often in lawless societies the only safety is found by allying with larger groups.
Since the police are completely corrupt, the legal profession is not able to be an independent group which can protect its members.
Out of the blue In A decides to visit JW’s father. She finds out first hand how bad his memory is. And how his health has been neglected.
@FF, the funny touches! “Appeal” and then Soo Beom getting insecure about his ps and bs.
Also the corporate executives kneeling like school kids gatting their homework assignments!
@FF, yes the elevator is where people have no choice but bear with the others in the lift. I think Nam’s sister’s name is Yeo Kyung. I call her Nam Sister to make it easier to remember.
The treatment of JWs dad in prison is so painful to watch. The long arm of injustice reaches even into the prisons. No one stands up to Nam Il Ho at all.
This isreaching the level of allegory — Korea has plenty of orderly pockets of life, this is way beyond even fable…
We get a gathering of bad guys with Nam. Only Park DH is being reasonable and watchful.
@GB, in S. Korea education is ineffective in making a person good. The chaebol are always bad people with good education but can be brainless; the lackeys are born poor but can also have good or even better education and smarter than the chaebol but has to work for the chaebol …. well at least in this drama.
I am on the clock, but seem to be a little ahead of you two, I will back up to 5 minutes earlier, so at 31 minutes now
@GB, oh yes her name is Yeo Kyung. I will try to remember her name.
@IB I’ve finally reached timestamp 34 minutes where NGM starts hitting Soo Beom who refuses to kill the witness.
Poor Soo Bom, offering himself to be the sand bad just so that he does not have to be complicit in NGM’s crime.
So NGM goes down the line asking everyone in turn to murder the witness. I am not sure who eventually does it, unimportant I guess because whoever agrees to facilitate murder will farm it out…? Was it the detective who shows up to ‘catch’ JW?
It is a test of people’s integrity.
Of course normally in corporate crime no one would actually say the quiet part out loud. But NGM does, he likes to shock and bully others.
@FF Soo Beom draws the line at murder.
The witness who gave the false testimony starts to reconsider.
@FF Dont you love the little conversation of Soo Beom and Mr.Pyun in a library (?) “Go get yourself something sweet and cheer up!”
@GB, I think the lady witness died after she decides to testify. JW has no luck, he is always a step behind the baddies.
NGM is all smiles when he makes horrible requests.
All of the meeting with JWs Dad and JW’s memories are so heart-breaking but this is so painful — “What was I like as a person,” “You were the best dad in the world,” Please tell my son that I miss him everyday”…
@IB, Soo Boem has to shock Mr. Pyun from behind and received a card that does not entitle him to a free drink from Pyun.
Ha I had forgotten the scorpion tattoo. So it was one of Boss Seok’s gangsters who murders the lady witness, with a garrote which unspools from his watch. ooh.
The father does not even remember that he has a son but when told that he has one he says he misses him everyday, so sad he does not recognize JW.
@FF it’s interesting that JW decides to rn away from corrupt cop. He knows that the entire law machinery might be owned by the baddies.
@GB, oh right. The same thought crossed my mind, ‘why does he jump out of the window’ –it was very high, I was surprised he didnt get hurt..
Office Manager Lady gets the crooked cops out of the firm before they find the secret room.
@GB, we are back to the witness could be the perpetrator thing, so JW runs away from the cop. The corrupt cop that JW knows.
@IB I guess JW knew that if he was imprisoned, he’d get the same kind of treatment as his dad and would not be able to get out.
oh dear, Soo Beom got insecure over spelling the ‘p’ and worried that it might be an ‘f’.
The lawyer does not stutter now.
Well I’ve come to the end of the episode. Quite intense!
@IB, now I know why @WE like Lee Si Eon. He is quite convincing.
@GB, yes. Once in the prison system he would be doomed, and probably in some back room at the cop station he could be murdered.
NGM seemed to want to murder JW before he got sidetracked by the need to murder the lady witness.
NGM is such a blunt instrument. You are right @FF a lot of education cannot make a silk purse out of a brain like a pig.s ear,
@FF the stutterer took years to practise speaking in court.
JW is secret room is being exposed …. In Ah … then Park DH came in as well but In A distracted DH from discovering the room.
@FF yes, re Lee Si Eon, I really like his acting in this show — he takes the reaction shots so well, and you can see his feelings right there under the concealment.
Soo Beom is not the brightest character, or he wouldnt have toadied to NGM for so long and countenanced so many shady things…..but he isnt a total criminal, I guess.
I am off to walk the dog in the new snow. Have a good week @GB and @FF, and best wishes for the New Year to both of you.
Same to you @IB!
I’m dropping off in sleepiness … think I’ll go now.
Have a great New Year @FF!
See you all next week.
