  1. @Pm3, thanks for the thread.
I updated screenplay files up to Ep12.
(see end of previous thread for depository link)

  2. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thank you @pkml3 for this thread and @WE for the updated notes on this Show.

I tried to rewatch this episode yesterday but I fell asleep over and over again. I believe it will be almost like a first watch for me today!!! So thank heavens and @WE for the script!!!

  3. Morning, GB. I am here.

  4. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Good morning @IB. I see you managed a quick rewatch!

I’m snoozing a bit on my end LOL.

  5. Hi IF and GB.

  6. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Hi there @WE
    We start NOW!!!

  7. 900

  8. Hi @WE

  9. There is resolution of some troubles in this episode. I noticed in this drama: problems accumulate and lot of time is used for endless new problems. But resolutions are quick. So, it enforce this feeling to be in an endless series of problems.

  10. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I found this episode quite upsetting, especially the end.

  11. Hello, have we started?

  12. Oh thats good @WE. This is so fast-paced! So it refers constantly backwards.

  13. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

At least we get to see JW making use of his great memory again to know where to go. But it’s Park DH who gets there first to accost the killer.

  14. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @FF, yes, just started. 3 minutes in.

  15. Hi @GB, @WE, @IF, oh we see JW with his photographic memory at work again.

  16. Crazy Nam Gu-Man calms down by crashing a random car.

  17. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Yes, @FF, I wanted many scenes of JW making use of his great memory but there are actually only a few of them.

This Ep, Nam GM has a lot of worrying to do. We see him get extra angry on the road.

  18. “Not to the extent of an action movie”? the first few scenes are easy to watch bec they do have that action look — we get an FL impulsively putting herself in danger so she can conveniently be rescued and then an example of road rage, with nice open lighting.

Not so easy to watch, going forward.

  19. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE NGM is a crazy fellow. Anger management issues and irresponsibility. He is never held properly accountable.

  20. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

JW gets more good evidence so that he can get a retrial for his dad. Always we get our hopes up.

  21. Hi FF.

The kind judge gets information about the father case. But it’s episode 9, so even if he takes the right decisions, it will fail in a way or another. Anyway, we are at the starting point of the drama now: a new trial for this case.

  22. Lee Won Jung (Boss Seok) and Park Sung Woong, these big massive actors with such a delicacy in conversation, bravi to them.

And right afterwards we have Namgoong Min and his dad. Then Moon Suk and In-Ah.

The poisons of social hierarchy trumping morality at woirk. A point that egets thumped hard in this episode. Full of dread, but it is where Lee Beom and DongHo change course.

In the midst of emotional entaglements.

    I love this show.

  23. A through line of cruelty. Gyu Man’s gratuitous seemingly visit to torment SHW in prison — was he already shoring up defenses for the retrial (disturbing the old man’s mind)?

Recalling that to the infamous cruelty of the prison doctor/director. I have seen plenty of scenes of injustice in prison but this one is soooo painful. Genius.

  24. Aaah, this part is so harsh and difficult to stand: the father endures maltreatment in the prison, from the doctor himself. This scene and few others of this kind hurt me really.

  25. JW’s father is such a sad character, his memory is so messed up by his illness and people who intentionally plant memories in his mind. Sometimes he remembers his past, sometimes he forgets them and sometimes he remembers recent events. He can’t tell what is real and what is not.

  26. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB I find the scene of Seo Jae Hyuk in pain very painful to watch. NGM says something funny … fortunately his disease is to forget and not to remember like his son does.

  27. That man is unfit to be a doctor; poor man had to endure pain and beg to be treated when he should be treated.

  28. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE me too!!! That’s why this ep is upsetting to watch.

Also NGM keeps going around here and there, turning up like a bad penny everywhere.

  29. @FF, it is the worst sort of cruelty, isnt it. Because we all suffer from a certain uncertainty of memory on our own.

  30. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, the corruption in that prison is so bad that the doctor can get away with letting a patient be ill-treated. Even withholding medication that could have helped him.

  31. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

We get the gathering of the vultures who prey on the weak including a new female prosecutor.

  32. That “hunting dog scene” — didnt NGM go too far in threatening DongHo? An electric moment — always the reaction shot goes to Lee So Eon; he, LSE, doesnt so much as evolve in this episode as keep taking blow after blow silently.
We can see DongHo change course.

  33. The drama introduces a new female prosecutor, hmmm another corrupt character?

  34. The meeting of DongHo with the poisonously sweet prosecutor and Evil Moo Suk (he gets no title from me!)….The woman works as the lightning rod for all the viewers confused and unhappy hatreds,
But DongHo got the most amazing soundtrack sounds — drums and a percussion instrument ..

  35. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB in his heart, LSE or Ahn Soo Beom in this show has already started to move away from loyalty to NGM.

Now we see that Boss Prosecutor is going to give In Ah grief.

  36. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, yes another corrupt character and a couple more to go.

  37. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Another twist for Park DH… he only now realises that he’s tied to JW in a more fundamental way… not only does he owe him for what he did to his dad, but his own father had caused the loss of JW’s family members.

The frustration and regret… Park DH has no words.

  38. Another of JW’s witness went MIA?

Dong Ho realized that his father’s road accident cause JW’s mother’s life. The usual link between the characters.

  39. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Park DH in his guilt visits Seo Jae Hyuk. It probably makes him feel even worse seeing how Jae Hyuk has deteriorated.

  40. DH visits SJH, he must have felt so guilty because SJH apologies to him for not remembering him. His father cause the SJH to lose his wife. When he defended him 4 years ago he gave SJH hope that he will win the case, but he did an about turn switching sides eventually. SJH landed in jail with a death sentence, all these when DH knows that SJH is innocent.

  41. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF I don’t know who that old man witness is.

  42. @GB, is it the old who saw the banner put up by JW can contacted him?

  43. NGM loves tormenting PDH.

  44. @FF, I don’t think she’s corrupt. But she’s regular in a way she does the job you pay her for.

  45. Park DH cannot look JW in the eye, while JW stares so intently at Park DH.

  46. Does anyone else notice that the perjured witness shoulderts all of the guilt alone as an individual when she recants? Not a word about her evil employer and IlHo Co. who must have forced her to do so.

    Social solidarity cuts both ways,

  47. Oh, the actress prosecutor: she was in episode 1 of I hear your voice. Mmmh, maybe as prosecutor too.

  48. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB, yes the truly evil bosses pulling strings and giving out bribes keep getting away with how they make use of the poor person.

Now these court scenes that upset me.

  49. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE yes that actress was a prosecutor in court too and discrediting young Jang Hye Sun who came to help Park Soo Ha.

  50. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I’m so upset that JW just forgets the man’s name and collapses.

  51. Jin-Woo blocks. Damn, already in episode 9.
What a hell. Then he collapses comatose.

  52. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE was there something about JW where he should not use his great memory or it worsens his illness?

  53. So, as I said previously, we got 5 minutes of solving a complicated situation taking hours, then just new problems after new problems. This drama is made with the aim to ruin our nerves and mood. T T

  54. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE Mood ruined. Grrrr…. Now going back to happier, lighter show.

  55. What is happening to JW? He cannot recall the witness’ name, his memory does not show up and he collapses. Huh end of the episode!

  56. Whoever is feeling down should not watch this drama, omg every step is a hurdle. 1 step forward 3 steps back.

  57. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, yes end of ep… the kind of cliffhanger that is killing if we only have 1 episode a week!!

  58. very flashy beginning tied to the ending.

To begin, we got a great superhero flash of JinWoo using his amazing memory to save In-Ah in the alleyways of Saerim-dong, and then,
at the last minute, he has one of those attacks of his symptoms in open court! and loses track of his memories — luckily he faints.

  59. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, Yes, I’m abandoning this show for now and heading into fun territory.

  60. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@IB it was a sort of reverse book-ending of the episode, both to do with JW’s memory. Well done, but so gut-wrenching.

  61. @GB, which drama are you watching now?

  62. I have to go now. Good week everybody. 😉

  63. Dear @WE, @FF, @GB,
Cheer up, we must have hit bottom this time, perjured it can only get better from here.

Look on the bright side, JinWoo retrieved the first perjured witness’ testimony (Kim Hyun Ok), and he has forced the doctor/psychiatrist to come back to court to recant as well, and court is in recess.

Have a nice week everybody, I look forward to episode 10 with you!

  64. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF I’m rewatching Shine on Me. Balanced sort of show… ending with much sweetness and good feels. Recommended for the romance and character dissection one can do. @packmule3 is on it now and dissecting away!

  65. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Goodbye on this thread @IB, @WE and @FF. I’ll see you on the other threads. @pkml3 is onto Shine on Me now. So much to read!!!

  66. See you all next week.
