All’s well that ends well.
I just scrolled to the ending so I don’t know the full details. Be warned, though, I have a low bar for HEA. As long as she isn’t food for maggots, I’m satisfied.

To the silent readers,
I’m traveling this week. And next week. And the week after that. But I’ll try to keep posting or else bringing my personal laptop with my official laptop AND my K-pad with my work i-pad would be wasted effort.
In the pipeline:
Ep 14 On Sartorial Eleganceโ
No, I’m not going to moon over Moon SangMin but it’s time I point out how his character’s hanboks add an extra layer to the story.
Ep 15 On a New Day and Politics
Because I have to get this off my chest once and for all.
Ep 16 Wrap-Up/Closure

@GB, are you reading this?
If you’re looking for something not too heavy for the rewatch, I suggest this one. If not for the entertainment value of the historical romcom, then for the script. The screenplay actually won the excellence award in the 2020 script competition sponsored by the Studio Dragon so it’s up to snuff.
Also, the show lends itself to discussion, e.g., the acting, cinematography, jokes, historicity, and so on. You know I couldn’t stomach that trashy “Mr. Queen” but the body swap/transmigration trope in this drama was well thought out and purposefully crafted.

Hi @pkml3, by chance I am actually reading this today!
Thanks for the recommendation. We will put this show down on our list of shows to be Watched or Rewatched.
I guessed you’d be traveling, since you opened so many Rewatch threads in advance. Have a good and safe trip!!

Iโm at a hotel now, @GB.
Had to leave earlier than planned to avoid the snowstorm scheduled tonight/tomorrow morning.
If you donโt do it for the rewatch, then just watch it for yourself. Itโs a modern fairy tale, with bucketloads of male charm and moral lessons. ๐
Speaking of male charm, I must say these:
1. The female actress received some criticisms for looking older than the male actor. Ignore those. You know I donโt like โnoonaโ kdramas where the age is the primary hook (e.g., โRomance is a Bonus Bookโ, โEncounterโ, โSomething in the Rainโ and โSearch: WWWโ).
But in this drama, I donโt mind her more โmatureโ face. Although the ages of the lead characters were never brought up, I think itโs to be expected that the female lead looked older as she lived a decidedly harsher life than the Grand Prince who just gallivanted around.
Historically, too, the Queen consort or wife of the Joseon king was usually a couple of years older than him. Why? Something to do with maturity. She was supposed to rule over the royal household, and it wouldnโt do to have a silly goose.
2. In real life, Nam Jihyun is 5 years older than Moon Sangmin. She was a child actress, and time flies. There was a time she played the romantic interest of the king (โ100 Day Princeโ) and nobody criticized her youthful looks.
I think itโs sad when being 30 years old is considered โagedโ already in the entertainment industry.
At least, she doesnโt hurt my ears with her baby voice ala Esther Yu and Yoo Inna.
3. I think looking like the โyoung boyfriendโ is actor Moon SangMinโs shtick or onscreen image. Similar to how Suzie was regarded as the nationโs girlfriend until she โaged upโ, MSM is probably the current nationโs young boyfriend. lol. He must have replaced Jung Hae In (โLove Next Doorโ) whoโs already 37 years old.

@pkml3
Thanks for your encouragement. I am starting to root around to look for a new drama to watch. I’m afraid of being sucked in again though as I’ve got a couple of projects clashing in March to prepare for. However I know I’ll also be looking for a drama fix at the end of the day, so the key is whether I can balance one with the other.
My prayers and blessings go with you on your journeys. Take care and be safe!

I just finished ep16, and dont want to spoil it for anyone. It was somehow marvelous, though.
Something happened to this show in the last few episodes. The supporting cast just kept getting better and better and more interesting. Villains and lovers and friends alike. That doesnt usually happen except in the very best shows.
So get ready.
One of my favorite things about Nam Ji Hyun is her voice — clear and melodious, but in this role she was a truly natural beauty.
And Moon Sang Min was a real overall treat.
Part 2 is here. To My Beloved Thief: Ep 16 On HEA, continued
I was too lazy to update it here.
Thanks, @GB.
Same to you! Have a blessed week ahead of you. ๐
Yes, @ibisfeather.
HaeRim was funny again on this last episode. So she has this weird fetish for men who catch her as she’s falling?
And crushing on EJ’s brother?? EJ’s brother wasn’t on my bingo card. I only had DaeChu and the Investigative Bureau guy.
