I have a preternatural dislike for these characters/actors so I’m spoofing them to expel them from my mind.
1. The Chaebol Dad = Jabba the Hutt
Whoever this actor is, he should stop investing in botox.
2. The Brother = Guy Smiley
Whoever he is, he needs to work on his acting.
3. The Wannabe Wife = a Modigliani painting*
Whoever she is, she could have sat in for Mme Hanka Zborowska.
Thank goodness that the lead couple’s interactions more than compensated for the lackluster performances of these secondary cast members.

And Yoon Eun Hye didn’t lose her magic touch. She’s still the likable romcom girl of Coffee Prince and Goong.
I don’t care what others say. This kdrama is the age-appropriate show for both Yoon Eun Hye and Chun Jung Myung.

lol. So I wasn’t the only one who thought he had botox? I wasn’t sure if it was a) botox, b) bad make-up, c) too much soju and majkeolli, or d) late night binge of ramen. But after four episodes of looking like that, I figured it must be botox.
As for the brother… His performance is the reason that idols are given a bum rap. He doesn’t act convincingly. I wish the writer/director had given a REAL, struggling actor a chance instead of this guy.
I totally agree with the above characters! The brother especially 🙁 I saw your comment too about him coming off as creepy. That scene where he handed in the phone to the reporter was off.

Like I said before YEH is my first ever favorite K-Actress from watching Goong and Coffee Prince! 😉 I don’t think it will ever change even with all the controversies etc.
I am loving her chemistry here with CJM. I am glad she chose this project as her come back. I did watch Marry Him If You Dare and that was a total meh 🙁 There wasn’t even a kissing scene. I think that really destroyed it for me 🤣

But his acting was creepy. It was as if he just got out of the military service and he wanted to get laid. 😂 Really?!! The girl simply wanted her two-way radio handed to her and he held her hand? Not cool. Just hand her the device.
I’m more pragmatic about the controversy. I didn’t like it. She apologized. She did her penance or “reflection” time. Let’s move on.

Yes! No kissing scenes at all! I kept waiting for it but nothing. There was an almost kiss so I thought ok it just didn’t happen there so I waited and waited. Nothing 😐 Total waste of YEH’s kissing talent! hahaha

Sure, kissing is “just part of the job” but how can the actors convince me that their littlest skinship like handholding is mind-blowing when I KNOW that their big scene, the kissing scene, is INsignificant and “just part of the job.”
There’s a cognitive dissonance there.
If kissing the (married) actress is just part of the job, then hand-holding with her and all the little romantic things are also just part of the job.
The first time their characters smile at each other, hold hands, embrace and kiss, and so on, aren’t that swoon-worthy anymore because the illusion of reel romance has already been breached by the reality of personal life.
Lol. It would have been better if she had paired with safe Cha Tae-hyun for her first post-marital kdrama. Or ahjussi Song JiSub or that perpetual bachelor Gong Yoo. To me, this PBG kdrama seems to be overreaching for a married ahjumma, no matter how youthful looking she is. 👎😈

I didn’t watch it myself.
But from what I heard from viewers, My Ahjussi was more of a coming-of-age kdrama than a romance show with a capital R. IU’s character didn’t end up with the ahjussi. The ahjussi went back to his wife (?) and she went on to live her young life.
The impression I got from the comments was IU and the ahjussi were like two ships passing in the night. They had a brief but very intense connection, and then they separated and went on with their course in life, never to meet again.
Oh that sounds like a very sad drama. No wonder I was not aware of it hahaha

Look. I didn’t like Kim Go Eun either. I thought she looked like that singer of Oppa Gangnam Style and he looked … hmmm… what’s the un-bitchy word here? peon. He certainly didn’t look royalty. He was a peon.
KGE didn’t look classy enough.
However, when she smiled after that first (or second?) episode in Quebec City, and told him that she “saranghae-d” him, I saw her appeal. She was actually cute. Cute like a berry.
Ya Chinggu, Gong Yoo was my 2nd Oppa 😂 after the blonde guy from BOF (not anymore because he abused his ex 🙅♀️) so GY became first so I’m protective of him 😂 and I thought he did looked like royalty.
Anyway, I did find Eun Tak cute when she said that saranghae the first time ☺️ She’s cute when she smiles. I still don’t see their chemistry though while watching but I will finish it and read your posts in soompi 😉 I’m sure I’ll appreciate it more 😊
Oh and I finished Mr Sunshine too and agree with you that there were parts where I’m like, “ Is this going to be the whole episode?” It just took sooo long 🤔 I only like GDM really 😊
That blonde guy from BOF was also that robotic guy in Playful Kiss. 🤦♀️ I didn’t get his appeal. I first saw him on We Got Married and his poor wife, his noona, was so much taken with him. #noonaproblems He had a 4D personality (quirky, out-of-the-box thinking) and he’d just do his own thing. That would have driven me bonkers in a day. I like my guys steady, reliable. Funny, yes, but wacky and outrageous? Nope. 👎
