Because This is My First Life: Cameo of an Epilogue

I remember feeling dissatisfied with the finale of “Because This is My First Life” because I would have loved to be shown a glimpse of JiHo and SeeHee’s married life. And I thought HoRang and WonSeok (him especially) needed a longer time-out.

So I was surprised when I saw these gifs from paper-box’s tumblr a couple of weeks ago.

Awwww… they had kids.

I’m posting these now because the actor who played SeeHee, Lee Mingki,  is in a new drama, “The Beauty Inside.”  I just might watch his show and review it. It’s on Mondays and Tuesdays so I’d have to reschedule some of my drama viewing/reviewing to allow for this.

edited to add: Does anybody know which kdrama (I read it was from “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?”) and episode this scene came from? Thanks!

  1. It was from episode 10 of What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim. But they weren’t Se Hee and Ji Ho in that drama. And as much as like Park Min Young, I wouldn’t recommend to watch it. Full of cringe moments.

  2. Thanks!
I was watching WWSK for Park Min Young, too, but I stopped at Episode 6 because of the other dramas I’m watching. I would have continued on had the lead actor been appealing to me. There’s something about him that I find off-putting; I can’t put a finger on it. His round face? He looks slick. lol.
I’m used to cringe moments right now. I’ve been watching plenty of those because of “Devilish Joy.” Ugh. If I had a teenage daughter, she’d definitely be banned from watching that show. I don’t want her resorting to “acting cute” just to get a sympathetic response from older people, her boyfriend, the authorities, her colleagues.

  3. No worries. Ugh. That drama is so unrealistic that I am now only watching it for the mystery behind the death of the actor. Also because of Choi Jin Hyuk. I am as simple as that 😂

  4. That drama is so ridiculous, I’m beginning to look at Choi Jin Hyuk in a different light. Like, “Why did he accept this role??” Was he desperate?
Oddly enough, the death of the actor wasn’t as bothersome as the possibility that she was raped and didn’t know it. Sooo unbelievably stupid of her to accept a drink like that. Even when I was in my 20s (which was eons ago) and went to bars with my girlfriends, I never touched a drink that I didn’t see the bartender prepare right in front of me. I thought that was Bar Scene 101.
She’s too stupid to live really. I’ve just restrained myself with my complaints because… as you said, it’s Choi Jin Hyuk’s kdrama.

  5. Good drama is hard to come by these days.

I have this thinking that the actor died on behalf of MaSung so I am really curious about the truth. Can someone get raped and not know it? Don’t they feel different/weird/icky whatever that is? Maybe it was because he was her acquaintance so she let her guard down but totally agree that she was too stupid to live.

  6. Rape just doesn’t just involved penis. She could have been touched, FINGERed, HANDled down there without her knowledge because she was unconscious. Then, because of the trauma of finding a dead body beside her, she could have blocked, ignored or dismissed the sensitivity afterwards.
It’s just the way this writer handled the whole situation. He/She made light of a really problematic scene.

okay, back to the dead or alive Ghost Detective. I’m assuming, because YOU visited my post that Lee DaIl was found to be in a coma somewhere.
    Facepalm.
I should have known that Korean writers wouldn’t be able to escape the fangirls’ demand for an “OTP.” hahaha.
And that’s why I always end up with lame kdramas. I could count on one hand the dramas that I deemed “worthy” of a rewatch.

  7. Hahaha. Yes, I am sorry. His spirit disappeared when he was with YeoWool and that friend of YiRang followed by a scene of him regaining consciousness somewhere. Episode 8 ended there.

What dramas would you suggest me to watch?

  8. Ahhhh… Is this the cosmic retribution that he gets for saving the girl in the hospital?

I’m writing a list of dramas I’m watching now. Hang on.

  9. I have been reading your blog today and found an entry from last year: Just Bitching: The Obligatory End-of-the-Year Awards. What drama is it for #3&4.

  10. Oh, thaaattt.
It’s that kdrama with Siwan and Yuna.
Please don’t remind me about that show. I can feel a wrinkle furrowing between my eyes.

But why are you reading my old posts??? Shhh… what’s written in this blog stays in this blog, okay?

  11. Okay, I know what drama that is. Didn’t watch it though but judging from your response, I didn’t miss anything.

I love your wit and humor also your style of writing so that’s why I have taken up reading your blog lol

  12. Are you my missing daughter?😂

I write my posts often with an imaginary daughter in mind. I’d picture her sitting on the porch swing with me or sipping coffee in a cafe in Paris. We’d discuss anything and everything (except politics and law because I don’t wish her to be in the same profession…) and this moment would be my opportunity to pass on the wisdom (and follies) of MY generation of women.

My aunt used to keep company like this with me. She survived Hitler’s war. My boys would visit her still and she’d tell amusing stories of the evenings when she didn’t know whether she’d see another morning. Yet her stories were hilariously “bitchy.” What can you expect? If you’ve faced death more than once, and lived to tell about it, death loses its stranglehold on you.

So same thing with this blog. To a lesser degree, of course, I’m attempting to re-correct the hold of dramas over young and malleable viewers. Sometimes they get caught up in the “feeeells” of things and the good looks of the actors that they need a little big of guidance to regain balance and perspective.
