Throwback Thursday: Goblin

I didn’t have time to take many pictures while I was in Quebec.

I can report that this candle which was outside the Christmas Store (real name: La Boutique de Noël) is now located inside the store. Most likely, to make the tourists enter and purchase something inside.

Sigh. I wanted to blow out the candle and make a wish, but I couldn’t because they’re battery-operated.

And the headboard of my bed at the Château Frontenac was rather plain-looking with a logo that looks like a duck (or an “F”) with a crown. Hahaha. I thought the trimmings would be gilded.

The red door was still there at the famous Rue du Petit Champlain. I took the picture clandestinely because I felt awkward taking a picture of nondescript door.

I’m sure if Gong Yoo were to reappear, I’d pretend I didn’t know him anyway.

Those are all the photos I can share. 🙁

Oooh I loved Goblin. I could watch selected scenes over and over. Unlike some others, I actually liked Eun Tak and didn’t find her irritating in the least. I totally bought into the love story as well and was fine with the ending. A grand romance to span 4 lifetimes. Thanks for the photos. Quebec is probably over 20 hours away for me, so it’s not likely I’ll be visiting it anytime soon.

  2. Same here! I love EunTak. I couldn’t resist her smiling face when she declared that she loved the Goblin at the top of the stairs. 🤪 I took a picture of that spot too but it didn’t turn out good. It was a hurried shot of the empty stairs.

20 hours from you? Hmmm. You’ll have to add other cities like Montreal to your trip if you’re going to spend two days traveling back and forth.

  3. Thanks for sharing the pics! ☺️

I didn’t mind EunTak. I believed in their love story.

The actress ( sorry I’m not good with real names) will be with Lee Min Ho in his comeback drama from the writer of Goblin.

Hey @agdr03 Yes, I find Kim Go Eun (Eun Tak) to be a very convincing actress. I am less enthusiastic about Lee Min Ho. I may have liked him in Personal Taste aeons ago when I watched dramas without thinking too much about the hows and whats of a show. I became a bit more discerning only more recently.

  5. Ditto!
I don’t mind Kim Go Eun. I think her haters just don’t like the way she looks. I think she’s cute.
But Lee Minho??? How many ways can he perform a tsundere, rich, English-speaking (hahaha!) guy?
I’m going to watch the first episodes. It’s like rubbernecking when there’s an accident on the highway. I’ve a morbid curiosity to watch a train-wreck.
I can’t remember liking him in anything… wait! I like his character in “Faith” but too bad there wasn’t any chemistry between him and his leading lady.

  6. That writer also wrote Heirs and another kdrama starring Lee ByunHun. (I have a brainfreeze and can’t remember the title.)

  7. Mr Sunshine!

For a moment there I almost forgot it too! hahahha

I like LMH in The Legend of the Blue Sea. That one he had chemistry with the leading lady there (sorry no name again. hahaha) Anyway we can just watch the first few episodes and see if it’s any good. I think it’s for next year actually.

Agree with you both that Kim Go Eun is a pretty good actress. I only saw her in Goblin though but I liked her there.

  8. Oh yes! Mr. Sunshine. Although I think that title was a misnomer. There’s nothing sunny or shiny about that show from what I hear. Everybody died.

LMH’s partner is Jun Ji-hyun or something like that. hahaha. We only know Lee MinHo’s name. We don’t care about his leading ladies. Oh wait! I know Park Shin Hye and Park MinYoung.

I’m growing accustomed to Shin Hye-Sun’s face. 🙂 Just like in the song… “Her smiles, her frowns, her ups, her downs are second nature to me now. Like breathing out and breathing in.”
