Why do they always have beach scenes?
I’m thinking about the swing. What’s the symbolism of the swing? What does it mean?
Good question. 🙂 I’m not sure as well but it doesn’t look like the same as the one in Flower Crew, I think our couple just walks hand in hand near the beach. Maybe it’s just a way to feel free, not to think about anything else. I don’t know. That’s how I feel whenever I go to the beach and I really do love the sound of waves. 🙂
The swing is memorable to DJ because of her family but I think it’s more important now because that’s where they always meet up and have talks about what’s happening. It’s the same area where DJ confessed her feelings right? They should have kissed there too when ND was pushing the swing and DJ was facing him.

They’re sweet moments in between.
The queen is looking for her missing norigae. DJ finally realizes who Nokdu is, (no) thanks to Yulmo.
King is becoming a psycho. I don’t get where the writer is going with this. He wants to kill his son because?? he can’t have descendants? So far, the writer is doing a lame job of explaining why a king would kill his own successor.
I still go on a swing whenever we go to a park. 🙂

I agree. I don’t get it either. He has one son but he doesn’t want him because he wants to be King forever? It’s not nice, to think that he was really good to ND and DJ when he was going out at night in disguised. If the King is turning into a psycho, Yulmo will not be any better. LOL. Where do we go?
I know, right? The politics of this drama is a drag on the whole story.

Hmm, I thought Yulmo said his let go of her already but because ND is the son of the King, that was the only reason why his keeping his connection with them.
If he still loves her then maybe he’s the one that will let them go after he kills the King? But it doesn’t go with his character? He is evil so he should just kill our couple too.
What a way to end the drama. LOL.
Accdg to Wiki, this king was exiled to an island with the queen. Yulmo ascended to the throne after that but was basically powerless and controlled by some faction…which I’m assuming would be the signatories of the book/contract the coup plotters all signed.
If I must work with the historical constraints, I’d say that Nokdu and DongJoo would be instrumental in granting King Kwanghee safe passage to and safe exile in Jeju island. Because of DongJoo’s connection with Yulmo, Yulmo protected her and would never allow her to be hurt — and by extension, her Nokdu and Nokdu’s family.

Oh I can see this happening, yes. I just can’t get over the fact that Yulmo killed so many people but then again same with the King. 🙁
Second chances are good especially if it’s used with a good heart.
Re swing…perhaps I am being too literal (common failing in engineers?) but I thought it also symbolized the back and forth nature of the relationships. They grow closer, then something pulls them apart, and repeat.
As for the ending, to go with the Tale(s) part, I was fantasizing about NokDu and Dongjoo and their merry band becoming like Robinhood and his merry men, a thorn in the side King Injo to become legends and fables.
I haven’t watched episode 13 but it looks like they had a lot of scenes together and of course, they have to part at the end. 😢
It looks like ND joined hands with Yulmo in dethroning the King? He gave it back to Yulmo, that lists of all the people involved with him. Aishhh!
Someone said, the title was The Tale of NokDu, The Joseon Romantic Comedy. But there’s no comedy now after all the tears. So right.

Doesn’t he know yet that Yul mo wants him killed by his own father? Nokdu joins Yul mo, but Yul mo will just leave as bait for Daddy’s attacks. Daddy will be accused of killing own son.

Booo! Hissss! I still don’t get why King had to kill son based on a stupid shaman’s prediction….but you can see how belief in superstition, astronomy, horoscopes becomes self-fulfilling.
It is a complete mess! 🙁 He joined hands with Yulmo because he heard his Dad say to his foster Dad that he wants his son killed. So NokDu really just wants him dethroned but your right, Yulmo will kill two birds with one stone.

I just finished watching and I had a little cry, ok maybe not so little for our couple 😭 I just really feel for them. Their love is real but their goal is going to hurt each other. Technically it should be the same goal now because NokDu said he won’t forgive his Father. It did hurt like hell for NokDu hearing him say that he wants his son killed to his face and the reason was because of what the shaman said. NokDu was like, ‘there’s no other reason?’ That’s why he hates him now. I can’t blame him. 🤷🏻♀️
The title should have been The Tragic Tale of NokDu. 😞 I didn’t think I was going to get emotional but I cried because I felt their pain. I wish they’d just move away from it all.

No. Not there yet. It was when he proposed in the hospital. She was expecting him to break up with her after the fire, she was emotionally readying herself and then he said he loved her.

Yes, JDY and KSH look like campus sweethearts. KSH opted not to go to college so she missed out on the whole dating scene. JDY on the other hand looked like a typical college guy through and through so KSH can have a virtual college boyfriend with him around.

I think a break-up is expected, @agdr03. I mentioned this. 🙂 You see, when the body was found, Hongsik THOUGHT it was Dongbaek’s body If they were still dating at that time, then sure he would know where Dongbaek was and he would know what Dongbaek was wearing before she went missing and he could identify easily that the body was NOT Dongbaek’s.
Did they break up because of the child Pilgu? I don’t know… After my initial “eyebrow raising,” I don’t think I would be opposed Dongbaek if she really loved my son. Everybody comes with a baggage and at least DB’s issues wasn’t because she loved less. Keeping that child and raising that child demand guts and love. So if I were HS’ mom, I’d see those qualities in her as admirable. My son would just have to adjust to Pilgu. It’s not as if this is the first blended family ever to happen.
But I understand that the cultural and social expectations. Like Hongsik is 30 years old and he still lives with his mom. I love my sons and they’re always welcome home. But I’d consider it a personal failure (my failure, lol) if they were still living with me a year after graduation. Fortunately, both sons had jobs waiting for them as soon as they graduated and they moved out right away. Unlike many millennials, they’re financially independent and fiscally responsible.
And that’s a flaw of Hongsik. I’ve always found that awkward that he was living with his mom and expecting a third of the restaurant as inheritance. It’s not even his own trust fund and he was already counting on it. I don’t think he realizes that to get his inheritance, his mom would have to die first. hahaha.
The mom babies him too much.
KSH was homeschooled for highschool but now she’s student at Hanyang University in acting. But I don’t really know how she can manage to be student with her schedule. Love Alarm will have a second season.

It was episode 18. Pil-gu heard Hong-sik’s mom say that he’s a burden. That if only Dongbaek didn’t have a child. So he decided to live with his Dad in Seoul. But Dongbaek didn’t know about this till later from Hong-sik’s Mom so she went back to get him and the talk she had with Pil-gu made me realise she’s going to just be a Mom. That’s what she told Hong-sik. He got Joker already and he was so happy to tell her but she broke up with him. It was a great scene as GHJ and KHN stayed in character.👍🏻

Hi. I agree that Hong-Sik’s Mom shouldn’t be against DongBaek just because she has a child. She already did well by raising Pilgu all by herself. I don’t see any problems too about a blended family. My cousin’s is like that but they are happy. 🙂 It’s true too that Hong-sik’s Mom babies him. I would like for my sons too to be independent and not living with us till they’re 30. Maybe I’d give them until they’re 25. LOL.
We had company over the weekend and raising children was a favorite topic. Most of us have adult children but there was a couple who still had college-aged kids. We said 26. If the child’s still living with mom and dad by then, that’s worrisome. But if the child’s living with mom and dad at 30, that’s “failure to launch.” 😂
Lovable as Hongsik was to viewers, he would be considered a “loser” here. His conversation with Dongbaek’s mom about money and happiness was awkward to watch.
The mom: Happiness can’t give you money. But money can give you at least some happiness. 😂
But I like his old-world gallantry and style of courtship and his doggedness on the case. But his financial IQ or awareness must only be in the double digits (or less than 100). Mr No, the governor wannabe, as dumb as he was, was a lot better managing money.

I’m not a godmother this time but between hubby and I we have 4 of sister’s kids as our godchildren already. 😍 There was probably about 200 people including almost 70 kids to teenagers. 😁 Sister’s group of friends have 6 kids or more per family.
