I liked Ep 21, opening scene. JH’s whole demeanour is different, softer. He’s not sitting bolt upright, not glaring, he’s sitting so he is at a lower level than Mr Sheng and TQ. Then when TQ said that there were philtres in the wine to make the victim see their beloved, he mused, “What a good cousin.”

Ooh! So Ep. 21 is the reveal! I may have to just go ahead and watch this episode on You Tube and spoil myself. Is there a nice kiss scene? Of course, the EDITED episodes at Viki are way behind (currently at ep. 6). I tried YT again but the subs were still just too confusing for me. I tried the unedited subs at Viki and while it was better than YT, still I found it confusing, so I have resigned myself for the long wait for edited episodes. I’m still checking in here though to read these recap posts.
Anyway, I found this article on a photoshoot for Starbox featuring the main leads of Dr. Cutie in modern styles. I have to say the second male lead looks much better in modern day hairstyle in my opinion.

Dear @agdr03, Sorry, sorry, my error, TQ already had the bracelet – it wasn’t given to her. Back in some early episodes it’s seen that the bracelet is the Buddhist one worn by the killer of her parents. TQ was asking about who owned it and a courtesan eventually remembered. It was included in a bunch of jewellery given by TQ to (ack, my brain!) bad-guy-with-dark-eyebrows who killed her family. Perhaps not the smartest thing that TQ did.
I have seen very little of Ep. 23, so you are far ahead of me. Would this work? If JH can’t get his mother on his side, perhaps the emperor will become a fan of TQ/Zhao’er. Difficult to argue with the emperor.
Saw ep. 21-22 on Youtube. Aaww! That cute smile of Ji Heng when he confirmed that Tian Qi is in fact a girl! And how cute was he when he made Tian Qi dream of a flower petal shower come true in ep. 22! The kiss scene was underwhelming (thanks for the warning, @agdr03). Yes, one of those “fake it” kiss scenes. However, I thought it was shot pretty well for that type of scene. Usually they are not well done with the camera angles and such and look really bad. So I give props to the director and cinematographer that it wasn’t a total disaster, just a big disappointment over no actual “lip contact”.
There has been a bonanza of episodes with subs all at once. The mood has gone from one extreme to the other. I’ve seen through ep. 24 now and things have gone all tangled and dark. JH is trying to protect everyone he cares about now. But the enemy is so evil, manipulative and divisive, exposing old secrets and propagating half-truths and lies. How did the Young Master get so much power, even over his own ‘father’? Why does he wear a hood even when he meets those on his own side?
“Tian Qi has been like a fire, and already made the Ji family full of smoke. I don’t mind adding more fuel to burn down the whole Ji family… are you willing to sacrifice yourself to ignite the fuel?”

I noticed it too that the funny has gone a bit because of the ‘smoke/fire’ the main bad guy created. I didn’t like it that one minute JH was asking her to marry him and the next, he hides from her. 🙁

Yes, he was very clever. What a moment. no wonder Tian Qi was bowled over when he twirled down from the flower-petal sky. The writers were obviously inspired by noted millionaire playboy Gunter Sachs who famously courted Brigitte Bardot by flying a helicopter over the back yard of Bardot’s villa in the South of France and then releasing a shower of hundreds of roses when she came outside. ( And yes, she did marry him).

I’ll second the recommendation of Tempted for WDH. I thought he was pretty good in his role as leading man. It’s a teen melodrama, so adjust your expectations accordingly.
My favorite WDH drama remains Mad Dog. Definitely put that drama on your watchlist if you haven’t seen it. Better performance than Tempted, IMO.
I tried to watch The Big Boss on Viki-unfortunately, it’s not available in my region. 🙁

JZ must have just wanted to protect TQ at all costs and because of their similar tragedies in life. I’m glad he recovered quickly by making a bigger mistake and that in the end it’s true what JH said about them, no woman will ever come between them. They really are brothers.
I looooooove the conversation of JH and his Mom in episode 25. He said he chose to take responsibility because he doesn’t want both women in his life to hate each other. If it takes killing him a thousand times by TQ for her to be ok, he’d do it and he won’t regret it. 😢 What a guy.

I think the point here is TQ’s hatred really goes deep, BUT JH’s love goes even deeper.

Yes, tomorrow. I was leaving tomorrow. But my office has been scrambling because what was originally planned to be a 6-country visit with business partners over the course of three weeks became a 2-city trip for two weeks WITH a self-isolation of two weeks after I return in case I caught the virus. @packmule3, I’m sorry if you were really looking forward to your trip. Certainly unpacking is easier than being isolated for weeks, even if you were allowed back (some countries are being draconian). I hope that May will be a better time in every aspect.
Off topic: Sims is a game. You can design a house and make the characters have certain profiles. The game continues if you aren’t there, so monitoring is important. It was installed on our PC so both daughters could play. Younger daughter is too active with friends and running to bother. But older one is having a Sims ‘moment’ this week. This too shall pass.
I’m still waiting for eps. 25+ to be subbed here. Ref killing, yes, Madame Ji said that it happened because TQ’s parents knew too much. Then she said she did it all to be a good mother to JH. 😫 He ends up having to try to protect everyone.
