Love Lasts Forever: Sato Tekaru’s “Take-tele” with Mone

For agdr03 and the others,

Here are some subs that I found of the behind-the-scenes interaction between Tekaru and Mone.

I extend my deepest fangirling gratitude to @_takemone_ for the translations. Please give him/her credit when taking out his/her tweets. Thanks.

1. Sato Tekaru said that he had to pucker up to reach her lips but he still failed. lol

2. The scene when Tendo laid his hand on Nanase’s head and claimed her as his girlfriend was improvised by Tekaru.

3. Here is the sub of Tekaru’s birthday on his “take-tele.” I guess “take-tele” is short for Takeru and television?? Mone was his first female guest on the channel. @_takemone_ subbed the whole entire show. You can google it yourself: “taketele with mone-chan 1”.  Just replace “1” with the next number.  I’ll just post a few of them.

4. There were a million views watching them? Or he had a million subscribers? I don’t get it. She sounded shy here but later while they were playing the game, she became more competitive.

5. The cake was cute. They filmed this “taketele” a few days after Koitsudu ended and he was “worrying” that she’d forgotten about it already. She laughed and said, “you tend to behave like you’re the only one feeling lonely.”  I guess she meant that he always thinks that it’s a one-sided attachment. He admitted that he felt lonely so this episode on taketele was supposed to be a…hmmm… sort of a send-off. They’d exhaust the subject of Koitsudu so they could move on.

He said they’d put a “period” or an end to their experience. And Mone said it was like their graduation ceremony. And assumed that was what the cherry blossoms decoration behind them were for the “graduation” from the show.

6. I guess, according to the script/cue card Takeru was holding, Mone had planned a game for the event. Mone seemed to be confused so Takeru joked that she didn’t really do it herself but was pressured by others to do it. He called them “political forces.” lol.  The game is called “Overthrow my demon.” Meaning, the game was about getting her revenge on Takeru because his character insulted and called her stupid numerous times.

7. It’s a translation battle. The two are going to read lines from the dorama written in in English and translated them back to the original Japanese lines used in the drama. Tekaru protested because Mone speaks English. Her family lived overseas because of her father’s work. Mone said that Tekaru also studied abroad but Tekaru replied that he only learned conversational English (or something) so he wasn’t fluent like Mone.  They took a bite of the cake.

Tekaru is a game fiend. It seemed like he enjoyed pressing buzzers on speed quizzes.

8. Takeru admitted that he got a rush out of pressing buzzers. lol. I think the offers he’d been getting lately were mostly appearances on quiz shows. Mone answered the first question, but Takeru wanted to clarify the game rule. hahaha. He’s such a stickler for rules. He said once Mone had pressed the buzzer, she should state answer. Also, the line to be translated should be removed from sight (meaning, she needed to memorize it before pressing the buzzer).

9. Skipping ahead, it’s funny when she missed an answer.

Oh! Tendo said, “This is part of the treatment.” Nanase said, “This is for treatment.” I didn’t realize that the difference of a few words was significant.

10. Mone tried to cheat and Tekaru restrained her.

11. Tekaru memorized his lines quickly.

12. They weren’t listening to his fans but were having a private conversation about “patting heads.”  He asked her if she felt happy when she was patted on the head. She said that patting on the head was the point. He kept asking her till finally she answered that, for girls, the gesture might be interpreted as a guy laying a claim on her. And then Takeru started asking her about his coat which she liked. She liked to estimate the cost of his coats because they looked luxurious on him.

Anyway, there are more twitter clips on @_takemone_’s twitter account. Just tell me which one you like best. lol.

  1. Growing Beautifully (GB)

Thanks @pkml3. Unfortunately, I can’t see the full twitter screen from inside this blog. I just get the top bits and see that they are ‘moving’ images but can’t see the rest. Maybe I have to go into the twitter itself to catch those clips.

  2. Ugh! Sorry.

I’ll try to fix them tomorrow. I thought all I had to do was copy and paste the tweets.

But yes go to takemone’s tweeter account. Remember to put an underscore (or underline) before and after takemone.

I don’t know how the clips are organized though. Some clips are from the Taketele birthday show and some clips are from the cast members group watch of LLF.

  3. Waaaaaaaaaa! I clicked on some of those tweets and it’s soooo cool! 🥰🥰🥰

    Arigatoh! Arigatoh! 🙇🏻‍♀️

@GB, it worked when I clicked on those links using my mobile. But I have a Twitter account so maybe that’s why. I hope you’ll be able to see it. 😊

  4. Thank you, @packmule3. It’s gratifying to see these with subs. I liked the shared Zoom-type YT digest interview. It looks like the choco-corone was even Sato’s idea but he doesn’t want people to know.

He was very pleased to have her on his YT show, wasn’t he? I think that out of the take-tele bits, well, several are very good but 9, ‘part of the treatment’ is funny. He doesn’t let her off the hook at all. He had just watched 3 hours of a quiz show leaving Mone to wish that she had taken a Quiz course at Uni. I would not want to play monopoly with Takeru.

Also. how can he look so appealing with one of those stupid birthday hats on his head? Life is unfair.

  5. Ya! You beat me in watching all of it @Fern 😆 They’re so cute. 😍 I liked that cake with the bears! 🥰

  6. Don’t forget to watch clips 22 and 23 of the Taketele subs.

Clip 22: Mone said the scene she liked very very much in final episode was the hair drying scene. Takeru then spilled the beans that she’d positively insisted on that scene. hahaha And she didn’t deny that and she giggled.

Apparently, the director asked them if there were things that they wanted to do in Ep 10, and Takeru mimicked Mone, “Drying hair is essential.” Mone added that she liked the warm way Tendo said, “Guess so,” (I can’t remember the scene). She said that it showed how much Tendo had changed from his old self.

As for Takeru, he liked the scene in the hospital. “My favorite is that…in the hospital, Nanase worried about her not being sexy. Then, Takeru mimicked Mone’s “Doctor…” complete with the head-bending-shy-movement. Mone started laughing again. Takeru remembered the line! “We’re going to have cream party tonight!” He said that he could watch that line over and over. Seems like Mone kept on doing that head signal because Takeru forgot his next line which would have stopped her gesture. Takeru said, “I just kept looking at you.” hahaha.

I thought Tendo’s reaction was spot on, though. He was speechless because he didn’t understand what the heck Nanase was trying to tell him with that head twitch.

Mone said that she ran out of ideas so she kept twitching. Takeru said, “You only have two patterns of ideas.” — lol. I wonder what he meant by that.

Then Takeru said he felt nostalgic.

So watch those: Clips 22 and 23.

  7. I can’t yet find 22 and 23, but I trust your recommendation, @packmule3. Having only 2 patterns of ideas – maybe a private joke?

  8. Hours and innumerable tweets later, I found 22 and 23. Ah, it was Nanase trying to be cute because the other nurse suggested that it works on men. But Tendo asked sarcastically if she was ill. It sounds like it worked on Tekaru in real life if that’s the scene he would re-watch.

At about 25.5 the Jenga game ended in a jenga pieces spilt all over and a clinch. Next scene, they both have wet hair: shared shower or bath? Then Tendo dried her hair without being asked and was sweet.

  9. The Taketele clips with Mone were fun, especially to see Takeru smiling so much, and Mone being more assertive while still maintaining her cute demeanor. So it seems in real life that Satoh Takeru is a competitive person. I wonder if he actually does bowl: his form looked convincing, at least to this novice.

  10. I just spent a couple of hours too watching clips of the casts rewatch and the taketele clips. I just had a smile on my face and then laughing at some. 🥰 Sato and Mone looked cute and I liked that they were comfortable with each other. I learned something about washing machines too. 😁

My favourite of their rewatch is number 11 and 12. They showed all the kiss scenes together and Sato was like ‘ oh their showing all the famous scenes’ 😂

Then while trying to speak he said to Mone ‘ do you live underground?’ Because she’s breaking up. They were laughing but Mone said she doesn’t and it got better straight away ☺️

  11. “Do you like underground?”

That sounds like something Tendo would say with an acerbic tone.

What Rewatch #11 and #12? I can’t remember those. I might have to do a rewatch myself to refresh my memory. But I don’t have time this week. 🙁

I also like the Taketele clips were the fans were asked their memorable scenes. It could have been us. lol.

  12. Oh? The choco-corone was Sato’s idea, too?

He really got involved in this drama, didn’t he? @ Welmaris has a point. She wondered how much leeway the director gave Sato to develop his character as he saw fit.

Mone was adorable, though. She didn’t want Tekaru to win so if she had a chance to “steal” the buzzer, she did.

I like the sushi eating session, too. He gave her what she wanted to eat, and then as he was putting the plate away, she mumbled, “Mmmmm” because she wanted some of the gari/pickled ginger. He said, “I know. I know you.”

At first, I thought, hey! if you knew her then why did you put it away without offering her some of the gari?

And then I realized that he meant that he could understand Mone even though she wasn’t using words. Her mouth was full so she was just going “mmmmm.” lol.

    This was in clip #18.

The birthday hat was funny. Wait till you reach 50 and older. The hats and the accessories become really ridiculous and garish. Perhaps to celebrate your inner child? For my last birthday, though, I got a tiara with the big numbers XX on it.

  13. XX for 20? Sweet!

@packmule3, does this post mean you might be fangirling Sato Tekaru? Or is it research? I suspect that you are extending this as long as possible, which is fine.

I wouldn’t mind seeing another drama by this director. I think it was very finely crafted with a number of references to previous episodes, great and realistic character development, and what seems to be a collaborative approach to the script. I think the actors were well cast, too.

  14. Hi

I started following this blog .. as recently as this week sometime ..

    – where are the recent comments (Aug – Sept 2020) on some of the pieces that were written months and years ago

    – I left a few comments on some of the pieces .. and it was left for moderation .. Was there a problem in the comment that it hasn’t appeared yet?

I see much later comments – eg. today’s and yesterday on the same threads where I wrote .. have already been passed and published .

    Thanks 🙂

  15. @Packmule3, we must give credit where credit is due: it was @Fern who shared the choco corone info.

I used to have a tiara: it came with a job I had as one of the lead organizers of an annual event for my college alumnae association. I handed it off to someone else when I handed off the job at the end of my stint. But it was nice while it lasted. I should replace it, and get a fascinator in addition. I learned from watching Harry & Meghan’s wedding coverage that one wears a fascinator during the day, and tiaras are donned after 6pm.

  16. Welcome to my blog, SuBose.

If you were commenting on an old thread, there’s probably a “hold comment” on the thread. You see, I’ve written (or bloviated, lol) over 1000 posts already, and if people started randomly commenting on them, I’d be swamped. Current and topical threads are open.

I also have certain words that set off the moderation queue. I recently banned that drug that rhymes with novocaine because some twerp thought it was a good idea to sell me illegal drugs online.

There’s also a word limit, and a limit on exclamation points and heart emojis (cookies have no limits though).

Also there’s a fangirling/fangushing alert. Excessive fangirling/boying — unless you’re a bona fide “Shallow Islander” — is not allowed on the blog. I don’t have the forbearance to deal with vapid comments regarding “oppa this” and “oppa that.”

Certain IPs are also banned. I think anybody writing from Russia is automatically blocked. Прости, comrades!

Comments from regular posters like Fern, agdr03, Growing_Beautifully, welmaris, miracle23, 2uke, nrllee, Eureka, snow flower, and the rest have already been pre-approved for posting without moderation. Comments from new posters are put on hold until I’ve *time* to sift through them and decide whether the poster is a Bitch or not.

Given the #lawandorder situation here where I am, my time and focus have been on things other than this blog.

  17. I thought the posts by Miki Kousei and Miki Asei were funny and very supportive of Tendo. Asei only had a cameo as Numazu’s brother. I’m not familiar with Japanese TV celebrities, but I think these two must get around. They are a real life comedy duo. I think Tendo said at the beginning of take-tele that Asei showed up uninvited to his filming sometimes.

  18. Packmule, thank you for posting this topic. It was fun seeing a lot of conversation between the actors and special topics. When I see Takeru, in the normal conversation, I really wonder if he was really Tendo Sensei? Mone’s is still the same, to see from her Nanase acting in the movie.

Takeru is pretty funny and a nice guy inside and out. He might have had a hard exterior in Love Lasts Forever, but he turns out to be a putty in Mone’s hands. In one of the clips, Mone was talking about how she got her name becasue her parents loved Monet Impressionists paintings and Takeru wanted to see Monet painting in France.

Write more so I can read all your thoughts and impressions of the same.

  19. I’ve just read that a typhoon is headed toward Japan, aiming for Okinawa and Kyushu. I hope none of @Packmule3’s readers are in harm’s way, and that all will emerge safely after this storm.

  20. Praying for the safety of everyone especially in Okinawa and Kyushu. 🙏

    Thanks @Welmaris!

  21. Hi 👋🏻

I’ve sent you an email about the Tendo close ups in LLF. Sorry I couldn’t include a picture with each one. 😬

After watching episode 10 tonight, I realised Tendo and Nanase will always be special to me. ☺️

Oh by the way, Satoh’s birthday video with Mone as guest has 13M views. Wow! 😍

  22. Thank you. Will check it tonight when I get home. ✈️

No worries about pix. I’ll look for them using the info you sent me. 😀

  23. My pleasure! ☺️ I’m sorry it took me awhile though. 😂

    Have a safe flight! ☺️

  24. @angelwingssf, Mone’s name reminds me of the twins Monet and Manet in Hospital Playlist.

@packmule3, I hope that your flight was fine. I swear that between health and security, flying simply isn’t the fun it once was. I can’t imagine sipping a refreshing cocktail beverage from under a mask. 😭
