In kdramaland, it’s customary to think that the lead character “deserves” better than her trashy crush or ex-boyfriend. I think Woong’s sweetness makes him a tough act to follow. But I’m excited to see how Yumi’s future boyfriend and husband-to-be can top Woong. He should be really good or we’ll end up thinking of Woong as “the one that got away.”

Let’s enjoy the show!

    Thanks @pkml3!

I’m as conflicted as Yumi about breaking up with Woong. There’s no such thing as an ideal boyfriend or a perfect anyone. Sooner or later, a person is going to annoy one, but there was more that was good than that was annoying.

What does the gourd signify in a relationship? The last straw situation beyond which the relationship will not work? The straw that broke the camel’s back, or the gourd, in this case, was Etiquette Cell’s beanbag over the short text reply.

Although on the one hand I felt like a break up would be interesting, on the other, it feels like our couple needs to work out how to communicate better to keep their relationship going.

The things that are annoying or where either party failed in being ‘good partners’ were not deal breakers as far as I could tell. However I foresee that if Woong gives up his business and goes to work with Sae Yi, that will definitely be the end for our couple, because a lot of pride is still in the way.

  2. Thank you @packmule3, I 💕 Woong but I also think on Yumi has a ok me growing to do as a person. She has yet to love herself, a necessary thing to truly live others. She and Woong are loaded with insecurities so if this relationship ends or by is interrupted here, it will be more to do with their interpersonal growth. In this series I’m happy to see another season or two to see how Yumi becomes a writer, how she navigates other relationships and what she becomes as a more mature person. We are teased that she’ll marry. It will be fun to see who it is. With a possible third season, I am interested to see who, if anyone will be cast as the husband.

Although Woong is not a 🐸 frog, I get that Yumi and he have to break up. They both have too much personal stuff to overcome. If Woong is meant to be with Sae Yi, sobeit. However we may also get a scenario where they meet again after they have achieved self-actualization. That would be a great twist, but we could be in for a surprise like she married Gong Yoo or Jung HAE In or Park No Gum after he leaves military service. The speculation is so much fun as to the reunions and casting possibilities. But for now farewell Mr. Ah -you have established yourself as a romantic lead and should rock the long hair more in because it makes you look so good.

  3. @Packmule3 Kalispera!I am going to hijack this post for the following message:

My agapimeni @GB Unnie Happy Birthday! My best wishes!
It is Saturday the 30th in your part of the world and I remember what you have written in one of the Sisyphus threads. I am going to say more to you tomorrow in person on our Goblin Rewatch Party! Saranghe! <3

  4. Happy birthday @GB unnie!!! Hope you have a good celebration. We will definitely celebrate in our rewatch of Goblin. May your wishes come true as you blow your birthday candles 🎂.

Thanks @Cleo for sharing this. Since you have Gong Yoo as your birthday buddy, I looked up Oct 30 and saw that @GB shares her birthday with Jun Ji-hyun (Jirisan FL). Cheers!!!

  5. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Cleo and @Janey!!! Thanks heaps for your birthday wishes. I almost missed these posts because my email was acting up and I didn’t see any alerts to new posts on this thread.

30th October is Gong Yoo’s birthday? What fun!! It’s actually my daughter’s birthday on 30th. Mine is on …. yes I see your eye widen …. Halloween LOL. I’m the true-blue witch of that festival, but a ‘good’ witch, I hope! Tmr is my actual birthday, but I love to get your wishes in advance. I don’t even mind belated ones!

See you soon on this Yumi’s Cells thread. It seems Ep 13 was aired on Thursday (since I had Ep 13 up on early Friday evening)? And Ep 14 will be aired tonight? AsianWiki says it’s supposed to be a Friday and Saturday airing show, so I’m confused.

And see you tonight at our Goblin Rewatch Party!!! 🙂 So happy!!!!

    😄 😂 😇 😘

  6. @GB, You are very much welcome!!!

Gong Yoo and @Cleo share the same birthday, July 10 (also Nicolas Tesla). Sorry to burst your bubble there. Your daughter shares birthday with Jun Ji Hyun (Oct 30) and since yours is the 31st, yup it’s happy Halloween! Hahaha. My son and I are dressed up as Squid Game guards.

See you later at the Goblin rewatch birthday party! Cakes and cookies on us!

Finally watched the finale Ep 14.

    SPOILERS

    SPOILERS

I liked the time travel, on a magic diary ride. It was so apt.

Going back to headquarters was poignant. It brought tears to my eyes. How true it is that parents show their love through food.

But the star of today’s show had to be the Stomach Cell LOLOLOL. The title was Leading Man, and it probably refers to Stomach Cell. Loved his English, with terms of endearment for Reason Cell!! “Partitioned the stomach for dessert … don’t worry man.” LOLOL.

“Meal: 2YB of 50YB available (I’m guessing YB are Yumi Bytes LOL)
(and yet) … Desserts: 49YB of 50YB available!!!” I don’t get the Math here. 🤪

It’s so true, many of us girls have separate stomachs for dessert and our fave foods. I’ve heard this from my work mates before at large scale buffet lunches. It’s amazing how much dessert can still get into the spare stomach. LOL the number of stomachs can increase or rather the Dessert Stomach can be further partitioned!!!

“Meal, Desserts (1st partition) : Fruit, Desserts (2nd partition) : Bread (3rd partition)

Desserts, Fruit: 1YB of 25YB available,
Desserts, Bread: 24YB of 25YB available”

Stomach Cell: “I divided the Dessert Stomach just in case. Fruit and bread, baby.” LOL.

    And the Alchohol Stomach!
“Do you guys get it? You know? Dividing up the stomach before going to your parents’ home is the most basic thing to do. Mani mani mokgeo, okay?” LOL

I wonder in the end if her decision to break up was more to prevent being abandoned again. She asked herself the right questions: “Am I afraid that Woong will leave me? Or am I afraid of being alone?” She had to be clear about why she wanted to break up or stay in the relationship.

I also wonder about Woong. He didn’t look too happy when he ran to meet Louis, but he told Yumi that he’d signed a contract. We have been kept in the dark about what’s really happening with Woong now.

Ruby received her awakening. So that’s one round up for the end. And it seems that there’s nothing between Yumi and Bobby either, at least in this Season 1.

  8. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

It was interesting that she’d been to her cells’ village before in her dreams. She wanted to put up a note on the bulletin board for a wish to have a happy ending with Woong, but this can be interpreted in 2 ways.

    1) To end up with Woong and be happy or
    2) To end the relationship with Woong and still be happy.
Either way, she wanted a happy ending.

Oh,… and we never did get to hear what who the leading character was according to the Bulletin Board Cell, but I guess it had to be Yumi.

  9. Sigh… I just finished ep16 and although I expected the ending, it’s kind of dissonant to see it in a kdrama where HEA is expected. Well, HEA is for the OTP and WooMi is not the OTP. No Babi either since Yumi is even thinking of getting him and Ruby together instead of thinking the “u” person might be her. Can’t wait for season 2!!!

Ah, breakups and laying down one’s card on the table. They’ve literally used this concept in live action, I like the way it was done. It’s just sad that Yumi and Woong are people with few words so the breakup was as clinical and antiseptic as possible. No drama! Their edit cells are so active that their inner thoughts and reactions inside are not what’s coming out of their mouths and also their actions/expressions. This is the weakness of their relationship, the lack of open communication.

Although I am confused on Woong putting Yumi as his priority but then eventually he was the one who ended up the relationship. There must be something in between that happened. Or was it more of a knee jerk reaction to salvage the relationship but was already too late since Yumi called for a cool-off period. So with winning a business deal, Woong is back on priority 1 again.

I was laughing at Pathetic cell being summoned (to be clingy! Yikes) at the last minute. I imagine pathetic cell was probably in full action mode with Yumi running after her ex in the rain. I’m glad Pride cell stepped in. I feel that Yumi grew a lot during her relationship with Woong. She was able to confront him on things that are making her uncomfortable like Sae-yi and even the cool off. Those are brave actions and for her sanity. So I think she is putting herself as priority. As the bulletin board keeper alluded to, she is the only star in the village!

@GB, hooray for the Stomach Cell! I am a foodie and can partition my stomach. I love how it was illustrated here. Stomach cell is a good partner to hunger cell!

The concept of the gourd being pummeled by bean bags was also a good visual of our love/hate thoughts to our partners. It’s surprising what can break the gourd like in Yumi’s case where the simple text response can trigger the last hit. I am envisioning that for long married couples, we probably have gone through several broken gourds and not just 1 but the outcome is not break up. I don’t think there can only be one gourd that will withstand the test of time.

Overall, I enjoyed the show and will Miss the cells! Yumi is not the best version of herself yet and I want to see more growth in season 2. The OST is very chill. Their break up song is on repeat. I can’t gush enough of KGE and her acting here. I cannot picture anyone doing justice to Yumi’s role than her. The rest of the cast did well, too!

  10. Waiting for subs on episode 14. Was more touched than I expected to be at the Yumi Woong time out/break up. And was touched when Woong moved out but cleaned house and replaced bulbs. How many boyfriends would do these things. There is so much to like about these two and the recaps of their relationship proved it. I didn’t know what to expect from this drama but mainly thought it would be fluffy
Not so and the animated cells enhance the experience.

Am glad that we have more than one season. There is definitely more to unpack here. And more seasons are needed. And our leads are wonderful in actors. Ahn is very surprising. He can do depth and humor, is not one note and is certainly not beefcake. And Kim just continued to prove how versatile she is. Bravo to the two.

  11. @AOL – yes, what a nice gesture from Woong on his last day. He really cared about Yumi’s place, probably more than she did from a cleanliness side. He was a good guy. The broken table leg was already a sign that the relationship is ending. What an expensive table btw!

  12. @Janey, That table was sooo expensive and poor Woong is broke. You know he has a good heart because he’s loaned people money like Louis. I don’t like Sae Yi for him. She seems to be too brittle. And I’m not sure about Ba Bi for Yumi-not enough information yet. He has at least one thing going for him-he committed to his last girlfriend. He also does seem to genuinely like Yumi.

Because I came to K Dramas late, I have been binging older dramas. I just finished VIP because I like Jang Nara and Lee Sang Yoon (he recently did something to his face-a peel maybe-liked his face better before) and given all the angst of that drama, I really needed something like Yumi’s Cells and the sometimes hilarious One The Woman(love Honey Lee-she does great comedy).

  13. A little distraught at the end of 14. Felt it as she watched him walk away around the corner. The nail in the coffin was “The relationship has ended.” =(

  14. Old American Lady (OAL)

@John L, Happy you’re back. Am so sad about this break up too, but both characters seemed to have emotional baggage with Woong’s pride and silence and Yumi’s lack of confidence. Am happy that neither was a bad person. We have at least one, but probably two more seasons to go. Yumi may be with Ba Bi and maybe she’ll marry someone else. I am speculating about ways the plot could go. It could be that after a period of years, time jump, Yumi and Woong meet again and rekindle the flame. Or Yumi could be c with Ba Bi. Or Yumi gets an entirely different boyfriend/husband where they cast a former beloved Kim Go Eun costar like Jung Haipe In Or park Bo Gum. 8 don’t think we’d see Gong Yoo. I like Yumi so much that I’m hoping for a happy ending. Her cells also deserve it…

  15. Loved Yumi’s Cells.
Wong didn’t respond to the proposal because of his company’s woes. His pride won’t allow him to live off Yumi or live in his office together. At that moment Yumi became his number one priority. He broke up because he feels like a failure and he thinks he is wasting Yumi’s time. Whatever the news that Lewis had did not look good. Yumi does not play the dice card because her Pride took the cards from Love and lays down the break up card. Most interesting to me was the dream when she says that she thought Wong was her leading man and the little blue guy says, Yumi there is only one lead here. Priceless and true. If there was ever a turning point there it is. So the show is over and the message is Pride comes before the fall. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. Too bad, they were adorable together. Good writing.

  16. I was surprised at how much the season one finale affected me, even though for a breakup it was pretty minimal in terms of expected (heated/hysterical) emotional dialogue and facial reactions. But it seemed apt given Wung’s stoicism and limited verbalizations of his interior thoughts during their relationship. That’s not to say that the actors didn’t show grief in quiet, exquisite ways.

I was glad that Yumi’s pride gave her the strength to face the situation without becoming pathetic. And I think Wung made the right choice–if your 33-year-old girlfriend has marriage on her mind and you aren’t ready for it and might not be ready for it for several years, if ever, it’s best to let her go. Had they been in their early or mid-20s, the relationship might have gone on for a few more years. But time is of the essence when you’re a woman nearing your mid-30s and want to marry and perhaps start a family.

That black screen that said “The relationship is over” really pulled on my heart. It was such a strong reaction to a TV show that started out as what I thought was going to be a redo of “Inside/Out” with some live action acting-out thrown in.

Looking forward to season 2 (and hopefully a new and easier love for Yumi!)

  17. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks Everyone for sharing your thoughts and feelings over Season 1. I do so look forward to Season 2. I want lots of growth in Yumi and her cells!!! And since I can somewhat identify with her, I guess that means I want more growth in mine as well.
    🤪

I was thinking that it was apt that Woong moved from putting himself first to putting Yumi first on his priority list (and she did the opposite). I feel that it showed in his being willing to let her go. He noticed (and here I give kudos to Woong because in my experience, guys seldom notice body language or facial expression) that Yumi was not happy, especially when he said he’d move out. I feel that his take on doing what was best for Yumi (ie putting her first) was to let her decide and to follow her lead.

If she wanted to take time out, he went along with it. When he figured that she did not want to continue, because she never called, etc … he suggested to end it. Maybe if she’d changed her mind, he’d have been willing to give it more time. But this time, she put her pride first.

I feel that in real life, one has to balance out prioritising, for the good of the other. Which means, actually, that while one does not put the other on a pedestal and revolve one’s entire life around the other, (which was the unhealthy way Yumi went into relationships), neither should one put oneself first at the expense of the other.

I agree with @BethB, there should be a healthy self-love first, that spills over into giving and even sacrificing for the other.

I believe that Yumi’s slow growth to figuring out the median path between this is for Season 2. I really do like Woong, actually. He reminds me of the responses of responsible single guys at an interview where they met single ladies. The ones who chose not to follow up with the ladies whom they found attractive, said that it was not a right or practical step, because they did not feel they were in a position to enter into a long term relationship. IE, they were not players. They did not want to give false hope by calling up the girls they liked.

The ladies who were interviewed, did not know this, and expressed disappointment that although the guys had shown interest, they never followed up with a call.

So there it is. The stresses and strains of being single but wanting to be in a couple relationship. Most correctly it should be because both parties want to really settle down to make their own family. It was right that Woong did not pressurise Yumi to hang on when he’d not be ready for this a long time.

  18. @GrowingBeautifully, I think many women are looking for relationships based on societal expectations and some because they are hearing the alarms of their biological clocks. For my generation I was single to the point where I was considering spinsterhood. I could relate to Yumi and her question to Woong about getting married. I asked that same question to my now almost 41 years of being together with 37 of those years married husband after we were in our first year relationship. He was not ready for marriage but was committed and asked for my patience. What I liked about this drama is that Woong’s answer was realistic and his cells’considerations compared to Yumi’s also reflected the difference in their socialization and expectations. The other thing that struck me is the cultural differences. At the end, there was a date clock-the number of days the relationship lasted. We also saw Babi’s break up with his girlfriend to parallel Yumi and Woong’s break up. We also see generational differences in relationships-look a t Yumi’s parents. And we see the social pressure put on relationships; economic, family, nosy coworkers, friends and rivals. To use a dram a term, both Yumi and Woong had areas where they were lacking. More and more, with the discussion here, I have come to see how creatively wonderful this drama is.

  19. Annyeong,

Bittersweet to say goodbye to Woong… He is handsome with that pony tail though 💙 no, don’t say goodbye to this.

    Ep 13
Woong was nice to enough to fix Yumi’s lights and replace the broken expensive table. his pride is really high to disregard Yumi’s wishes not to pay her back.

How SaeYi is Woong’s type, how he ignored her random question about what he liked about Yumi, how he didn’t want to stand in the churro line, and his curt text reply that night… was the final straw that broke the camel’s back 😭 errr, the unbreakable gourd… which led to the time off that ended in the break up 💔 ouch!

    Ep 14
awwww Poor Emotion cell keeping every cell awake with her terrible singing voice and playback of Yumi and Woong sweet moments. oh man. so sad. Emotion cell and her moods. it’s a LOVE/HATE relationship, i say.

Yumi ending up bored is a reminder that even when we’re in relationship, we need to have balance and not be so centered on that one person. i like that Babi was able to give her advise on this area. i’m glad that she didn’t go with him coz that would be rebound zone. instead, Yumi went back to the “mothership”- love that. i was wondering who would that be. love that it meant her home, her parents. awwww

love the STOMACH cell and his “don’t worry, Man” 😍 response to Reason cell’s concern. i thought the voice sounded like Choi Siwon. yea, that was a lot of food. daebak. i loved that reason cell was so concerned Yumi’s stomach would burst. haha. when i do AYCE, i try not to eat rice or drink too much water. haha. love how Stomach cell was so compartmentalized: meal. fruit. desserts. bread. alcohol. and there’s always room for desserts.

when Yumi went to Cell land in her dream and remembered the Bulletin board. i like that she was reminded who the real main lead is in that village. and it has nothing to do with Woong. awwww

is this the first time we see PRIDE cell and Pathetic cell at the fore? love cell lost her grip * i felt her struggle. man oh man. then Pride took over without shame. i was rooting for Pathetic cell though… and maybe, Woong would have consented… but for sure, it will just prolong the pain. and we all know, there’s a season 2. time for another, better love for Yumi.

Sad ending… but HOPEful 🎈 *hope floats like a balloon 😻

gonna miss you, Woong. maybe, he will be the “husband-to-be” 🐸/Groom 🤵 in the end – who knows. one can hope.

Can’t wait for more CELL shenanigans in Season 2 🐱‍🐉

  20. This drama moved me far more than I thought it would. Because it incorporates cute animated characters, I thought it would be an easy-breezy romp. Instead, just like the proverbial spoonful of sugar helping medicine to be palatable, this drama presented serious emotional and relationship struggles without being dark and heavy. I may never again be able to watch a Kdrama OTP moving in for a kiss without thinking of Naughty and Nautisaurus.

I found it refreshing that both halves of this couple, Yumi and Woong, were generally nice people with both good and bad traits, yet I could believe they weren’t right for each other. Neither was at fault when the relationship ended. Both had been invested in it, and true to it, but when they realized their life goals were not aligned, they were able to be true to themselves without tearing apart the love they’d shared.

This drama got stronger and stronger as it progressed. I hope Season 2 will continue the upward creative trajectory.

As for Yumi and Bo Bi potentially being the next couple, I can see how they mesh well together. My initial fear that Bo Bi is a player was not realized, and for that I’m thankful. We see that he was committed to his previous girlfriend, and grieved when that relationship ended. He gave himself time to get over his hurt, working hard at it. He may have admitted to co-workers, when put on the spot in a truth-or-dare game, that he felt attraction to someone at Daehan Noodles, but he was careful to not step out of line both in regard to his own current relationship and Yumi’s. Feeling attraction may be instinctual, but how to act on that attraction is constrained by moral, cultural, and legal concerns.

Bo Bi and Yumi seem to communicate with much more ease than Yumi and Woong. When Bo Bi was giving Yumi advice on getting back to her normal pace, he did have a deeper meaning than just running for exercise, and Yumi picked up on that. Her asking about fighting the urge to call an ex was not a change of subject, it reflected the unspoken subject.

I was surprised to learn, in the voiceover at the end of Episode 14, that Woong was Yumi’s third official relationship. Ji U-Gi (the jerk!) would have been the second. So who was the first? Maybe we’ll see that backstory in the second season.

I look forward to watching Yumi find someone who is the right fit for her, and seeing their relationship flourish comfortably. (Who am I kidding? Then there’d be no plot tension!) Here’s a video of a special someone crooning what could be Yumi’s theme song.
    https://youtu.be/07iZxPPj7jk

  21. @JohnL – I rewatched the break up scene again I really felt the distraught you mentioned.

After they left the coffee shop and were at the fountain, the music stopped. The pleasantries was said, Woong leaves first. Still no music except the fountain noise (like a gushing waterfall). As Woong and Yumi both walked away from each other, the fountain’s noise turn to a heartbeat-like rhythm. Yumi’s eyes start to water and get red, many emotions pass thru her eyes (sadness, regret, distraught). She looks back and saw Woong turning and disappeared in the corner. Camera shifts to her but with the fountain in between blurring her image. I imagine the fountain as all her tears inside. Then the caption “the relationship is ended”.

I may not be as lyrical in describing the scene but it was perfectly and simply captured, no frills yet I was holding my breath. My heart breaks a bit again for these 2.

Thinking about the cards, I thought they would have the same breakup card. Does “End of relationship” hurt more than “break up card”? Why the difference?

  22. @janey,

that fountain scene – where they first met – was a powerful scene. i liked how you described everything as it happened. very subliminal. no angst. but full of it — still waters run deep, as the saying goes. i guess like you, i was holding my breath, too. daebak! what an ending!

i see what you mean about the cards being different. even the pictures look different. all i remember was that the break up card has a broken heart. maybe for Woong, this is the END. for Yumi, this break up is breaking her heart more. no begging like the previous “dumped” by the Ex though. no tears. no rain. no cheating hearts. just THE END.

did anyone notice that for this last scene (when Yumi saw Woong at the fontain), we heard the cell voices but not their images? it really puts the focus on Yumi and Woong, as we see meet again for the last time. 💔

  23. Old American Lady (OAL)

@HK_Lady, This drama was very artfully done and the subjective subversive thing about it was tthat it all appeared so simple. Initially I suspect that viewers seeing animated characters thought it would be cartoonish. Never did they suspect that the depictions of Yumi’s and Woong’s inner lives through these animated cells would be so evocative and touching. The live actors also were great. There seemed to be great matching of the cells to the actors that was done seamlessly. Ahn Bo Hyun stepped up his game and proved to be a very quiet but effective conveyor of complex emotions. I will never look at him as a thug, villain or beefcake again. And Kim Go Eun, who from her debut in Muse proved to be a prodigy, once again showed she could do romance, quiet desperation and the softer emotions of everyday people. Her pairing with Ahn was, to me, far better than what we saw with Lee Minho in The King. And I enjoyed that drama a lot (rewatching several episodes and enjoying her dual role). I like that she is one of those actors who works exceedingly well with her scene partners from Gong Yoo to Kim Hye soo. I’m sure that given the output, these sets are happy, collegial places. And in this drama both leads did not hesitate to change their visuals(as they say in K Drama land). They surely did not appear to be vain. (I loved their costumes too). Am looking forward to season two.

  24. @OAL,
I concur with everything you said 😍 YES YES YES.
I’ve seen Ahn Bo Hyun in a few dramas, but so far, this is his best, for me. So so proud of him for his depiction of Woong character. And he made me love Woong, too, despite the frustrations we all have with his “edited” communication. Kim Go Eun can’t go wrong with me, from the get go. I always feel her character. Regarding the visuals, even though i was taken aback by her bangs at first, i think she really wore it well. She gets away with it. Wish i can look good in any hair do. I love it when they’re not afraid to change their visuals. Woong was a cool cat coz of Ahn Bo Hyun. Same with Kim Go Eun. Will they change her looks for next season? Will there be a time jump? I have a feeling. Looking forward to Season 2 as well. What other Cells will we meet this time? Woong’s Cell land was minimal, full of security measures; no guards, just sharks. not like Yumi’s — full of hustle and bustle. Can’t wait 😄

  25. I watched the full drama, as there would too much to say, I’ll first resume that I liked very much.
As the script is smart and dense, there is a acceptable rewatch value here. I can’t say very good one as some scenes are quite slow, and not sure about cells scenes rewatch value.

SJJ was able to give an end so the drama can be a standalone, even without season 2. I remember on “the 3 musketters”, signed for 3 seasons, but the production stopped at season 1, forcing her to make an unstable last episode, with a bad ending scene.

A key point of this last Yumi Cell episode was a scene where she’s in her bedroom. No cell give the answer but yumi herself, a replica like “Do I love him or Do I fear to be alone”. Not exactly the same words but same meaning.

Another scene I liked in the drama was an argument scene Yumi/Wong at beggining of episode 9. With cells scene support, this was able to go very deep and understand deep the motivations, so each side have a good reason to argue. Cells scenes are mainly another way (with comedy) to tell thoughts, instead of a classic voice over. What can do these scenes and can’t make a thought voice over: a deeper psychological motivation, or intentions we feel but don’t have time to formulate in our mind.
With enough introspection, this can be decyphered (As writer for sure, SJJ have a good introspection), and so the drama was enjoyable because of these truths about what we think really in a situation. And a lot of situations everybody could experience in their life and recognize, and then share while watching the drama.

  26. Reading other comments:

Last scene: quite realistic once we have the clues, and with the cells. So not much to say for the actors. Last shot give a feeling of silence, of “it’s over”, watch the guy leave. Natural sounds only. No background music. And a quite cold resume of the relation duration, making like a clean scalpel cut in the heart, instead of a bloody sword one. I just had the feeling to live that.

Creativity: well, SJJ isn’t my favorite screenwriter for nothing ahaha. Cells high concept wasn’t enough, there was also the “blank unknow character”, the “cards in hand”, the “sketchs” (how to learn to be a kawaii girl and make agyeo), the fake “time travel”. And I probably forget some others.
