  1. Happy Easter! Glad your back. 🙌🏻

Thank you. You can watch at dramacool, kissasian. I’ve seen 2 episodes and the fighting scenes are cool. The story is quick, it’s not dragging. It’s just a pity it’s not their own voices but I’m loving it anyway. ☺️

  2. It was a combination of work, travel and allergies that exhausted me in the end. 🙂 I got back on Saturday and fortunately, my hubby and sons (hahaha. Well trained!) took care of the usual Easter preparation like donating the easter eggs for children’s egg hunt at church, sprucing up the garden, and getting Sunday brunch ready.

Not their voices? You mean, they didn’t use Yang Yang’s voice? Phooooey!

At least, with “Legally Yours” they used the actor’s voice.

    Okay, will join you.

  3. Thank you for this thread @packmule3! Those gifts are everything 😍 I can see that the Eng sub of first few episodes of WRTW are up on Dramacool too. I’m going to catch it this week.
@agdr03 Waitinv to discuss with you❤

  4. Thank you, @packmule3. It’s too late tonight to start a watch, but I’m looking forward to it.

I hope that you will feel better soon. Did you leave the allergies behind in whatever place you visited?

  5. Happy Easter @PM3 @Fern and @Phoenix!!! Hope you are feeling much better @PM3! Will try to join you when I find a subbed episode.

  6. I couldn’t find it on dramacool. But it’s on kissasian.

  7. You can watch it subbed on the WeTV app as well 🙂

  8. Found it on Tencent Video app!!! 2 eps are available. I have to find time for YangYang! 😂

  9. This drama available to watch with English subtitles at WeTV website and is coming to Tencent Video YouTube Channel. Also available with English subs at iflix.com. [All sites working in USA]

If you can’t access any of these liscensed sites, the drama is available at Dramacool, Dramanice.

  10. Thanks, @Table122000.

  11. Thank you all – will watch on Tencent Youtube when the subs come up and have found Ep 1 (Eng Sub)on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15hQK4s8iwg

Does anyone know why they are dubbing the voices of our actors in this particular show?

  12. @Kate,

    I’ve two guesses.

    a. Both Yang Yang and Lucy Zhao can’t dub the scenes in a studio after filming. Either they have no time or their time is too expensive.

    b. They don’t have the “standard” mandarin accent. They might speak with accent from the north/south/Taiwan/Hong Kong. I know for Yang Yang, this isn’t the only drama he’s filmed that’s been dubbed over.

    There might be more reasons.

  13. @Packmule3- thank you. That makes sense. I didn’t realise that Yang Yang had been dubbed over in the past.

I am looking forward to this drama – the Youtube link I sent isn’t a good one – will wait for another means of watching it.

  14. IIRC, Yang Yang’s “King’s Avatar” was dubbed over. His fans were upset but I think his character’s voice was matched to the original voice in the cartoon version or something.

@agdr03 would know better bec she follows the news on YY. 🙂

  15. I’ve only watched a few wuxia dramas, but it seems to me this show took it to another level with those baddies in their armored wingsuits. That’s stuff of nightmares, especially for horses. I remember almost being bucked off my horse once when a white heron took flight over our heads.

I hope YY’s character will be allowed to emote more as the show progresses.

For those who are watching on WeTV or Tencent platforms, be aware that after a few free episodes you’ll be cut off; to continue watching there you need to subscribe to a VIP membership.

  16. “Black Foxy! Come out now!”

    I agree with this sentiment.

  17. Love it @Fern 🥰

I’ll be back later, just busy with a funeral and spending time with my niece.

Here’s a piggyback trope after Hei drew a painting of Bai. 🥰

  18. @agdr03,

Please check the times of the rewatch for Business Proposal. Thanks.

  19. I have just started watching on We TV (hoorah) and am not off-put by Yang Yang’s voice. His voice is part of his attractiveness of course but the voice they have chosen is not dissimilar. I read somewhere that it is tippety top voice actor Bian Jiang.

Ditto with Zhao Lusi – have seen a lot of her stuff and – may be imagining it because I now know – but it sounds very similar to her but just a tad sweeter and lighter. So, ok – at least it’s not too light and squeaky! I do have problems with some of the very light voices typical of Chinese actress ingenues. They sound child-like.

Random thought – comedy moment when those assasins in their bat-like contraptions flew smash into a mountain side!

Another random thing – does anyone else struggle with extreme hair envy watching these C-dramas and wish you could grow hair long enough to where in some of those lovely very feminine styles and not bother with hairdresser appointments? Some of the male actors look gorgeous too – especially when they have fringes (bangs) rather than hair being tightly pulled back. The young general for instance in the fight in ep 1.

  20. *to wear*!

  21. @Kate, I generally have extreme earring and celadon crockery envy. Plus lanterns and internal decor. Having had long hair for a while, it’s no longer top of my list.

  22. Oh @Fern – love it! Well, I envy you your long hair… mine struggles to make shoulder length.

  23. Kate, it was many years ago. I’m more amazed by the way the actresses’ hair never seems to get tangled up or caught in things despite not being in plaits or tied back. Ah, the young general was lovely, wasn’t he? RIP.

  24. @Fern, I have courtyard envy when watching dramas that show traditional Chinese and Korean housing. I’d much rather have a courtyard than front, side, and back yards.

  25. @Fern – he was – what a waste so early in the story!

  26. @Welmaris, oh yes. Absolutely. Because of the privacy and the additional living space when the weather is nice.

  27. @Kate, @Fern,

I wouldn’t be surprised if the handsome general shows up again as a reincarnated love interest before the end of this drama. He can be a good rival of Black Foxy since the girl is enamored with the general’s heroism. 🙂

  28. @Packmule3 – oh – that’s a cheering thought!

  29. I think he won’t be reincarnated anymore as there’s a couple of men whose already curious about Bai Fengxi.

    This one is Yu WuYuan.

Look at Hei Fengxi below with his deep sigh. 😂

I’m up to episode 11. There a couple of sweet episodes, 8 and 9. 🥰

I think I’m going to forsake kdramas for awhile and concentrate on this cdrama.

I agree @Kate, the voice they used here for Yang YangYang and Lusi are fine. I think it’s the closest to their real voice. I didn’t mind the voice that they used on Yang Yang in The King’s Avatar as well.

  30. Hei/Prince Lanxi saves her most of the time and Bai/XiYun loves her food. LOL.

They’re a pair to be reckoned with alright. They can read each other well especially when it comes to putting things together and having that foresight.

She’s not wealthy unlike him. She is yet to find out that he is the second prince. We have an evil Queen Mom and son here and the older brother might turn against Lanxi too.

    Where are you girlfriend @Phoenix?

  31. There’s already a giving of hairpin by Hei to Bai and he specifically told her NOT to trade it in for wine. 😂

She did end up at a pawn shop but she refused to pawn it. ☺️

  32. I have to give it to Yang Yang and Lusi, they worked hard and most likely spent a lot of time hanging on those wires while filming WRTW.

    CTO.

  33. I’ll try to catch up when I get back home tonight.

  34. Safe trip home @Fern 😘

Yes, do catch up. I’m updated with the 12 episodes. ☺️

  35. Hey all! 🙂 I caught up on this. First C Drama since ages. The pace is much better than I remember!

I enjoy this drama! I felt this type of drama is for entertainment. I don’t need to be too emotionally invested. With the longer drama, I see a bigger mix of romance/politics/martial arts/nice props. It is very entertaining to watch them flying around/doing fancy martial art moves. Also a change from the concubines/queen politics I last watched. Now I see the princes are fighting instead.

I think I like the “fragile” Bei/Lanxi look the best. The one with the straight hair down and the white outfit.

It arrives in Netflix on 28 April in my country. (I am guessing the date is chosen because the production company like their “8”). I wonder how many episodes they will drop.

  36. I’m happy your enjoying this cdrama too @Viva 🙂

Yes, the story is not dragging and it’s not hard to understand what’s the main issues that Hei-Bai Fengxi needs to solve.

I like that they see each other’s strengths even though most of the time Bai is acts impulsively. 🙂

I’m sooo happy that it’s on Netflix by this Thursday. It saved me watching on hubby’s computer. LOL.

  37. Hey @agdr03 :), I am up to date with this drama.

It would be good if I can wait for Netflix upload but I suspect I will watch it on dramacool tonight. Having said that if it’s on Netflix it makes rewatch easier.

I think Bai’s character is pitched to be generous and move loving than Hei. Hei is supposed to be calculative. It is nice to see that they slowly fall in love with each other. C drama type of swoon worthy, normally involving saving each other lolol. I think the hairpin scene is cliche but still very nice to watch!

Agree, I am waiting to see if Prince no.1 will turn against Lanxi. He is so disappointed and unloved in his life. Also wonder how close the drama will follow the novel.

  38. High five @Viva, I’m not waiting on Netflix as well, I’m watching it tonight too. LOL.

Hei is in love with her already but she’s clueless about that. I thought the hairpin scene was nicely done and of course to add that she cannot trade it no matter what made it more heartfelt.

Same here, I feel for Prince no.1 especially because of his Mom. 🙁 I hope he won’t be against Prince Lanxi.

I haven’t read the novel as I have not time. LOL. But I wonder if Bai recognizes Hei as the young Prince she’s had conversation with. 🙂

  39. Dear Viva and @agdr03,

When Bai and Hei went into the town for a walk he had to run away to not be recognised by the Minister Feng who admires him and only knows him as the Prince Lanxi. But of course she recognised him although she denied it to her attendant. Later when Hei’s attendant shows up, I think he addresses him as Prince, but wasn’t supposed to because Bai only knows him as Hei. Bai pretends she didn’t notice but I think she did. If she puts those clues together she will understand.

  40. Oooh I didn’t notice the change in the calling from Sir to Prince by his assistant @Fern. Good catch there. ☺️

Spoiler …… I’m intrigued more because Hei/Lanxi does not recognise Princess XiYun in Bai Fengxi. Lanxi already dedicated Lanyun restaurant to her as a memento, he said. Bai said you’re in love her but you haven’t met her yet. He said he has when he was younger but after that he said he’d never recognise her again. Let’s see if he’s lying. 😂

Both of them are smart. 😁

  41. Hi @Fern @agdr03 🙂

Spoiler if you haven’t watched ep 14….

    @agdr03

Hmmm I don’t think he is lying if he is letting her go as a free person. If he knows she is the Princess, he wouldn’t think she can be free as she goes?

This personal maid of Queen Bali – why didn’t they show her face? Are they trying to give us a plot twist? Is she, by any chance, Miss Han?

Why do they always have an immature/childish/weak character in these wuxia shows all the time? XD The martial sister of Bai is a bit hard to watch sometimes. A plot device to create obstacles for Bai.

It is getting exciting in the martial world! Seeing them going through/solving the traps. Total escapism. Like Harry Potter, but in martial world sense.

  42. @Viva, I’m just teasing because being the Boss of Fountain Abode where every information is available to Hei/Lanxi, I’d like to think that he’d have information on Princess XiYun too. But he did say he’s never seen her again after their meeting when he was young. They met twice back then. I can see Bai feigning total ignorance though. 😁

I agree about Queen Baili’s personal assistant’s face not being shown to us. Definitely something there.

I don’t mind the younger martial art sister, she’s not there all the time anyway. 😃 Also I like it when she teases Bai about Hei. It’s almost a tongue twister this Bai-Hei /Hei-Bai.
    🤣

I like that they’re always thinking in the same wavelength. Both deciding that their paths are different but then they always get to see each other because of genuine concern.

  43. Ahh I see I see! My bad my bad.

True if he tries hard, he may be able to find the Princess. He hasn’t reconciled the two. Clearly his focus is on Bei but I guess Princess is his distant first love memory?

I think when the little martial sister complained about Bai doesn’t care because the leader isn’t Bai’s Dad sets me off a little. As I felt Bai won’t be a person who doesn’t care and I felt she should know better. But yes I like her best when she is in the cute little sister mode teasing about Bai’s feelings.

Agree. At this stage they don’t want anything deep. Very rational. Thinking they won’t work out so may as well part ways. Their choices suit their characters. For now, I felt Hei thinks securing his crown prince position is the most important. He probably values that more than Bai. For now, Bai values her freedom more than Hei. I think the point of the romance is to show that this will change.

There are some plots that can be funny but it’s OK. The martial art human photocopier is quite creative lol.

  44. @Viva, I think Bai might have let it slipped who she really was at the first challenge made for them by Old Taiyin(?) in Mount Wu. We will see. ☺️

I’ve seen a teaser and it looks like it might be Miss Han. 😬

  45. I love the last 15 minutes of episode 15 and the first 20 minutes in episode 16. 🥰 I think it’s the most romantic martial art fight scene ever. 😂

I love that chess reference to life where three thousand threads represent all of your worries and Hei Fengxi couldn’t cut off Bai’s thread. Heart fluttering. 😍 She reciprocated in saving his life. 😍

We have our leads turning point. So good. ☺️

  46. Yes it is very good. The lines of those 3000 threads are very poetic. When it is available on Netflix next week, I will rewatch that part so I can catch the dialogues better. In that thread scene, Hei spoke his lines as if he was reading a poem. Typically, 3000 worry threads are to do with hair. Instead of seeing people cutting their hair to symbolise they can let go of all the worldly love and desires, we see Hai cutting the threads elegantly through his martial art moves. He loves Bai that much he couldn’t cut that very last thread. Does he know that means he can’t win that obstacle? He would than stay at that dream like state?

Hei really understands himself. There isn’t much time wasted on denial.

I like Bai’s Master’s facial expression when leaving Mount Wu. He had that fatherly smile and approval when agreeing to go to the Capital of Young Zhou. Later little martial sis later confirmed that’s because he knows Bai wants to see Hei.

Bai’s tea leaves egg theory was so funny. Bai is in such a denial. 🤣

Poor Prince no.1. Looks like he will become the bitter prince. He has high potential to turn dark. Miss Han too, after she was pushed out. She loves Hei right? And it seems that Hei has a soft spot for her but not the romantic love. May be he knows she loves him all along and he can’t return her love, so he has that guilt?

  47. @agdr03, coming to BP rewatch tonight? Cheers😊

  48. My gosh! The difference in watching from your computer to your tv. Soooo exciting! 🥰

    Thanks so much Netflix! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  49. I loved the scene where Hei-Bai were at the top of the tower overlooking the whole town.

Bai asked Hei what really are his goals in life.

Hei said while looking down, at first, I wanted to protect myself. Second, I wanted to be my father’s heir. Then I wanted to conquer the world. Next…. he turns to look at Bai. 😍

She said what’s next? He smiled at her and said he greed is endless. 😁

She looked so clueless there but you know that she admires him too. ☺️

  50. I’m glad I waited! WRTW is now in Netflix up to ep12. May 5 will have another 6 eps and every Thursday thereafter. YY is better enjoyed on a bigger screen. Will catch up with all of you soon!

  51. @Janey – ditto – have resumed watching it this evening now that it is on Netflix. I am also liking watching it far more on that platform so I have gone back to the beginning.

  52. I wonder if i could resist and wait. I’m up to ep 18 and totally agree @Janet @Kate watching on Netflix is easier. Will I be able to wait for two weeks? Hmm🤔😂

  53. Yes @agdr03, he looked at her. She couldn’t not know, right!

The lines are continuing to be very poetic. Hei wants to do something more for those people who made him alive. To improve their life. It makes Hei sounds like an inspiring politician who wants to bring equality to the world. It makes his character more relatable to today’s world.

By the way, I looked up and found our library has 2 copies of ‘Who Rules The World’ novel (2 vol) in simplified Chinese. Amazing! The story must be popular enough for our library to carry it.

  54. Hi @Viva – really enjoying this now but you may be too far to turn back!

Anyone else hear a variation on a line from Tears for Fears ‘Everybody wants to rule the world’ in the theme song? Approx 50” in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ij65wvAGX-c

  55. Yes yes @Kate. I’ll work hard on watching other Yang Yang projects and see if that will help me wait. 😂 I’m currently watching Love O2O. The lines are so sweet that I don’t need sugar in my coffee!

  56. @agdr03… couldn’t agree more re the wonderfully romantic martial arts sequence in the final 20 minutes of Ep 15 and first 20ish of Ep 16!

That whole section elevates the show to a new level of emotional depth.

[Along with Harry Potter etc did anyone get reminded of a scene from one of the Lara Croft films when the water started to flow into the carvings in the stone circle?]

In fact, I loved the whole quest to Mount Wu to find Bai’s Master with the Sacred Jade Moon in play too. Great story telling and surprising character reveals.

  57. @Viva, the little martial sister just made me so angry. I can’t believe what she did to Bai. 😡

This episode is not out yet but the trailers are.

  58. I totally agree @Janey. Watching it on a proper tv makes so much difference.

The scenes of Hei-Bai Fengxi are just ❤️.

  59. @Kate, I thought it was very well done. 🙌🏻 I liked that Hei finally faced what Bai really means to him. Old Taiyin was very good too. ☺️

    I didn’t watch Lara Croft so I can’t relate. 😁

Yes, so it’s Mr Yu, that’s the real villain.

  60. Here’s a nice video of our couple. 🥰

It’s nice that there’s no other couple besides them in the drama. It’s really their love story.

    https://youtu.be/bZ1I0H0ttCo

  61. My gosh my first real kiss and proposal is at episode 37. 🤣

At least it’s sweet words with action. ❤️

    https://youtu.be/jRir0fwryQk

  62. Hey @agdr03

Oh dear, did she? I have been holding out and tomorrow I will be able to watch Yang Yang…I mean Hei and Bai in ep 19 on a big screen with Netflix quality! They are dropping 8 episodes too 😍😍😍😍😍!!!!

Just in case it is not obvious enough, I am joining @Phoenix and you in the Xiao Nai corner in the Shallow Island. 😂😂

Little martial sister certainly has that character quality to spoil plans. Her character seems to be the device to spoil plan. She reminds me that pretty bratty girl, Guo Fu in Jin Yong’s Wuxia novel, The Return of the Condor Heroes. I think the Return of Condor Heroes has went through a few remades. The last version was back in 2015.

  63. @Viva, I’ve seen episode 31 and 32 and I can’t believe what little sister did. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m just glad Hei is there and flower of the sacred jade moon given by Old Taiyin.

I got a bit carried away and thought my proposal was at episode 37 but it’s at episode 31. It wasn’t a marriage proposal too, it was just to make them official as a couple. But I love the way Hei said his feelings for her.

“ I’ve been thinking about something for a very long time. But I’ve never spoken it. Today I don’t want to miss out on this chance again. I can finally finish what I wanted to tell you at the Lantern Festival. This time nothing can stop me, even if the world falls apart.”

Goes down on his knees and says ‘ I seek only to have your heart. We will never be apart. This is what I’ve always wanted to tell you. It’s something that I should have said earlier. They always say to love until the ocean and earth run dry. We both know that these are just false promises.

To me, I only want to hold your hand until the end of life.” ❤️❤️❤️

  64. Oh, you’re very welcome to our Xiao Nai area in Shallow Island with girlfriend @Phoenix. 🥰

He will always be my first cdrama love. ☺️

  65. @agdr03 I’ll save this comment on eps 31 and 32 read it in detail when I caught up with you 😊

XN is easily YY best role. It would be hard to top! I think I’ll eventually watch all his dramas available on Viki and Netflix. Although I want to watch Oath of Love next.

  66. I agree @Viva. 🥰 Yang Yang played Xiao Nai to a T.

After LoveO2O, I watched Martial Universe and The King’s Avatar.

I’m seriously considering watching Glory of Special Forces just for him.

  67. @agdr03 – how did you enjoy King’s Avatar?

I really liked it. So much of it about the human quest …for meaning and achievement in life – poignant!

This track from the OST is my favourite. I feel it expresses the heart of the show mood-wise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0tilcW0JNg

  68. ps looking at the sub-titles I am envious of those of you who can understand/speak Mandarin Chinese.

  69. @agdr03, I think I will eventually try Glory of Special Forces. I read a lot of positive comments about YY professionalism when filming this. He did a lot of action scenes himself, ate the unthinkable and got all muddy etc. I wonder if this would be a good transitional role for him. May be he can take on the serious plotting type role as he pasts his 30s. From the article I read, it has 1.7 bn views. Considering its not of mainstream variety, it’s very successful. I don’t know if I will like it but will give it a go when WRTW finishes.

I’m so happy to see Netflix quality on big screen today 🎉👍.

    Episode 19

I got teary eyes when watching Prince Chang and Lanxi. Chang had to do this to himself to protect Lanxi. I wasn’t expecting myself to be so emotional over brotherly love (crying for non-rommance? !) . They both treasure each other but they cannot reconcile. Sad to see Chang was longing to see his brother but had to send him away. He was so alone.

I found Bai very likeable! She saw Lanxi upset and offered to buy all the clay dolls for him to cheer him up. That generous quality is a role reversal.

  70. Yes, I saw a few videos of the bts for Glory of Special Forces and I was in awe. I saw the mud scenes bit. I think we’ll have to watch it @Viva. ☺️

I’m really happy that both his dramas are doing very well. He’s working on his new modern drama now and he plays a firefighter.

The brother scenes were good. I thought for the two of them to understand each other very well without communicating a lot means that they do care for each other. I’m glad Chang didn’t become a bad guy. 👍🏻

The clay building scene was good. I especially liked seeing them smiling at each other. 🥰 True, Hei was always generous with her and so she really wanted to make him happy. ☺️

  71. @agdr03, I heard that Glory of Special Forces was filmed in 2019 which is before the current dramas of Yangyang. Curious to watch it though!

I’m watching this drama – 3 episodes a night with hubby so I’m slowly catching up till episode 16. I have to say I love the costumes! Also watched Avenue X first impressions on this which she gave a relatively good rating while also highlighting some part. The part about the director and producer of falling out and thus one of the credit images was of the swords piercing the director name was rather funny….like they do this?!?!!
I enjoy Avenue X for her candid reviews and one of the rare english reviewer with some background in the industry. You can watch it here
    https://youtu.be/pg9fkWEB_Ho

  72. @grace, thank you for the link to Avenue X. It’s good to get some background from someone who is both a native speaker and experienced in the current slang, culture and how the industry makes choices for dramas. I just watched her reviews for “You Are My Glory”. She is so funny in the final review.

  73. @agdr03 yes let’s watch it! 👍😃 Let me know what you think of it when you get there and I will too! 🙂 Is the place to watch, Youtube?

    Ep 20
Aww it is very funny and light hearted to see our Prince Lanxi feeling left out from Minister Feng and Bai. Lanxi just want to keep Bai by himself and disguised it for the reason of safety. 😂 Who is he trying to convince?

Saving Minster Feng – Bai wasn’t jealousy at all! She admired Minster Feng’s talent. Minster Feng also is graceful and not single hint of jealousy. May be that’s why I found this drama is easy to watch. I don’t need to watch girls fighting for a ML’s affection!

  74. @Fern,
Yes! I laughed so hard too…she is so honest. Also on how Yangyang goes in his acting mode where he shows off his jawline and “I’m good looking” feel that he exudes.

    @Viva,
I always wondered how Minister Feng is able to be so loyal and worry that she will turn her back on Prince Lanxi. BUT Lanxi has always been really clear early on about his lack of romantic feelings for her. I like that. He drew the boundary clearly twice. Even with the lady who serves him…forgot her name.
I’m not at episode 20 yet but if she is still so graceful in the presence of Lanxi’s love interest then wow, she IS quite a character that deserve admiration.

  75. Also loving the theme song and trying to understand the meaning of the song. Sometimes the lyrics are so poetic that google translate does such a bad job of it. My Chinese isn’t really fantastic but diving into the beautiful text helps me to learn the language.
    https://youtu.be/ICp_sqP2PGY

    F:
    像层层拨开的迷雾 你清澈
Like peeling layers of mist, you are clear
(Getting to know you clearly is like peeling layers of mist)

    像飘然一世那苍鹰 多洒脱
How carefree is the goshawk that roams the earth

    M:
    白绫轻薄却能击中 我心魄
Even the white silk that is so thin can strike my soul

    扰阵阵心波 我却不想 闪躲
Even if it has shaken my heart, I will not dodge it

    F:
    风是云的轮廓
The wind is the contour of the cloud
    黑是白的锁
Black is the lock of the white (I’m not sure what this means though but I think that they are interconnected)

    夜是昼沉睡的时刻
Night is the time to sleep soundly
    你是一部分的我
You are a part of me

    M:
    兰因莫叹絮果 璧月更纠葛

(this line gave me so much problems trying to understand what the words refer to. Most of the translations you see on YT did it wrong)

This phrase is a mix up of words..兰因璧月 Lanyin Biyue is the orchid that the old man gave to BaiFengXi. It is a flower of beauty and whoever can cultivate it is destined to dominate the martial arts world. Interesting info: the author of this novel also have another novel titled Lanyin Biyue.

I quote a translation about what Chiba Yurou mentioned on Baidu.com
“Lan Yindian comes from the birth of a son by Zheng Wengong’s concubine Menglan in the Spring and Autumn Period, which is a metaphor for a beautiful beginning and a happy union. Biyue, as explained in the text, the meaning of jade-yue and bi-joint brilliance, and the combination of two jades represents the combination of two kings.”

Later we will see how 2 kings (or king and queen) will combine in marriage and power to rule to world.

Looking forward to that! I’m only at episode 20 now.

  76. Ahh grace, if we re-arrange the words, would it help us to understand that line?

    My interpretation:

    因果 – cause and result
莫嘆 – not to feel regret
更糾葛 – getting more mixed up, more complicated

    蘭莫嘆絮因果 璧月更糾葛

May be lan (possibly refer to Lanxi) shouldn’t need to feel regret, when it is anything to do with 璧月. What would 璧月 refer to? Moon? Reunion? That I need to think a bit more.

They may want to string the sentence like that so, 果 and 葛 ended as the last word. That makes it rhyme.

My Chinese is not that good too! I am in that generation that I know both English and Chinese (traditional Chinese), but not master in both. 😂

  77. @agdr03, I couldn’t help it and went ahead to see episode 31 clip of his confession 😛
I love the words he said…in Chinese phrases he said it like a poem which is so swoon. That’s the thing with Chinese historical dramas the way they phrase the things they is like poetry jamming…I just want to linger on the words. You see how they use the same number of words for each phrase like same number of syllable for each poetry line to make it match, it doesn’t rhyme in the chinese words but they sound pretty as it rolls of the tongue.

    愿得一人心 白首不相离
[I seek to only have your heart.
    And never be apart]

    海沽石烂 地老天荒
[The sea dries up and the rock decomposes
The earth becomes old and the heavens become deserted]

@Viva, you mentioned about the brothers’ love for each other, I finally watched it and that scene made me cry too.
Thank you for your interpretation of that line. Maybe there is more than one meaning in it. I couldn’t find anyone explaining the lyrics but this might shed light on some background.
    https://www.gugong.net/yingshi/37181.html

I grew up having to learn Chinese as my mother tongue in school but my mother didn’t know chinese at all! My parents family spoke the Hokkien dialect my grandparents did, which I lost the ability to speak when moved away from my grandparents when I was 10. So I struggled and hated chinese all my 12 years of school life only to find a spark of joy when I have to teach my kids the language through beautiful picture books…and also while watching shows like this 😛

  78. Hoping to spend the weekend trying to understand the story and if you all are interested, this page explains the WRTW background and characters.
    https://mydramalist.com/discussions/try-the-world/72641-world-s-background-setting-introduction

This will also be helpful to understand the background…just do the auto translate to english.
    https://www.gugong.net/search/p_1.html?oldwd=&keyword=%E4%B8%94%E8%AF%95%E5%A4%A9%E4%B8%8B

Honestly I get so confused with the names and the various states, and who belongs to who. It is a huge world building that the novelist QingLingYue has built.

But I love the basis of all the things that is happening – the purity of creating a world free of suffering and bad stuff, and that is possible with the power of two: HeiFeng BaiXi and their love.

Meanwhile…let me go read all this. Also super enjoying the eye candy of Yangyang and Zhaolusi. Their hair is all props and so beautifully done, I always wonder how can you ever do it up in such a complicated manner for real.

  79. I’ll come back later to reply to the comments.

Just need to prepare lunch. 🙂

    I hope everyone is good.

I can’t believe WRTW will finish this week!

I’m sad there’s no extra promotion on this drama like a live press conference. Yang Yang and Lusi only did an online one. Sigh.

  80. @agdr03 Yang Yang updated his weibo, he must have heard you. Lol

I think the show had attracted some negative news. Like a horse was suspected to be mistreated and some plots are suspected to be copied. May be our leads lay low to avoid further attention?

I know right, last week for show. I am following the Netflix schedule so still have 2 weeks. I found 40 episodes are not a problem at all for this show! It’s a easy show to watch.

@Grace I love their clothes! Favourite pick would be when Yang Yang is in white. I like the fur collar shawl/coat too.

  81. Hi @Kate, I did enjoy Kings Avatar. I didn’t mind that it did not have any romance too. 🙂 True, it was about finding oneself and what one wants to achieve in life. I liked that OST as well. I listened to it and yep I remember it.

  82. Hi @grace, thanks for that info about Glory of Special Forces. I did not know that it was filmed in 2019. I think it’s definitely worth watching. @Viva and I will watch it, join us?

I’m not a fan of Avenue X. I don’t really watch reviews of the shows that I watch especially cdramas. 🙂

Oh yes, the costumes in this drama even though it may look simple looks great to me. I especially like Yang Yang in his black robe (episode 1 when he first came in) and the simple light blue with the flowers on both sides? With Lusi I like her in the light blue and the light purple one.:) This pairing is gorgeous for me. Did you see a pic of them hiding in the closet? I thought that pic was too pretty, and they were just hugging and looking at each other.

Wow! Thanks so much for dissecting the song and Lanxi’s confession. You and @Viva were awesome. Thank you. I love it. Actually when I really like an ost, I try to sing it too. LOL. So yeah I’ve taken up singing in Chinese. hehehe Wasn’t his confession the sweetest? To think he was only asking for them to be a couple. There’s a proposal scene too, I can’t wait. 🙂

I’ve got a good understanding now of the different states and secs because I wanted to understand what’s the politics side so yeah. 🙂 But true, there’s so many of them.

  83. @Viva, I think Yang Yang and Lusi both made weibo video posts? heheheh

Yes, I heard about the negative stuff, same scenes from another drama and the horse. It did look bad though the horse bit.

But anyway I won’t let it affect me because I really like YY and Lusi. 🙂 I’m enjoying the drama, it’s easy to watch, both characters are driven by wanting to help their people get a better life and watching their love/unwavering support for each other. 🙂

I’ll tell you when I’m ready to watch Glory of Special Forces, ok? 🙂

  84. This was the scene I was talking about. ☺️

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CdkINd0tADE/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

  85. @Viva – just starting a new catch up watch with you all but so agree re Chang and Lanxi. Very moving.

  86. Episode 21

It is fun and light hearted moment to see Lanxi face when he couldn’t join the conversation between minister Feng and Bai. 😂 The trio made a good team and worked out the clues very quickly.

@Kate and I were talking about Yang Yang’s professional dancing background. I love his and Zhao Lu Si short dance part in the night market! It’s lovely to see them twirled with their long sleeves. I do wish to set more! The short segment of Lanxi sang also shows his graceful hand and arm movements. The way Bai look at him is so full of admiration. I think I share the same love heart eyes with Bai. 😍

Worth to mention the literal translation when Lanxi mentioned ‘lover’ in that conversation when they were dancing is  心上人. The literal translation is ‘person on the heart’. I thought it is a beautiful term. When you love someone , that person is always in your heart.

I also love how cosy Bai and Lanxi were when they pretended to be the eloped couple. The way Bai held on to his arm. Or when they were discovered, she hid behind him and he was holding on to her hand firmly.

The conversation in next morning felt like foreshadowing Lanxi attitude to life, the ambition about ruling the world and his love.

Actor from the group, talking to Bai: Is your love more important than his future? (Lan then grabbed Bai’s hand)

Lan: I disagree with what you say. Before I met her, acting was my top priority. After I met her, I realised how much I was missing out on. My view of the world could be wider.

Actor: Mr. Shang, do not be blinded by mere love.

Lan: Life is a series of decisions. I had to make sacrifices either way. I would have regrets either way. However, I don’t want her to be my regret.

Actor: Think it through, Mr. Shang. Do not let your potential go to waste. You’d be covered in dust like a rundown house.

So here is the foundation that may potentially explain Lan’s choice in the future. He, may not rule the world after all. He rather gives up his talent and to be with Bai because he doesn’t want her to be his regret in life.

@Grace, I felt that line we talked about is related to this. There is also another explanation of Bi Yue. The term potentially originates from this poem. My interpretation of this poem is that the moon is not always full, and there are always difficulties in life that are too hard to explain.

    https://www.shicile.com/detail/6620206921159

So my interpretation of that line is :

Not to feel too regretful of the causes or results, there are too many things in life that are too hard to explain.

Also as to the line Black is the lock of white – my take is Black refers to Hei Feng Xi, White refers to Bai Feng Xi. Bai have to give up the freedom and ties down because of Hei. That may be what the story is going next…

I haven’t read the original novel and background yet. 🙂 I want to have a fresh impression of the drama first.

@adgr03 No rush no rush. I have Martial Universe, King’s Avatar, You are my Glory to watch. That is well over 100 episodes so I won’t get to Glory of special forces that soon.  😂

  87. @Viva, thanks for the link!
On the Black is the lock of white part, yes true. She will eventually have to choose to give up her freedom, though I think it is because of her brother’s death?

Thanks for writing out the script for the conversation. On that point, I think both give up something for each other. That’s really the power of love isn’t it? Just like how Elder Taiyin said in conclusion to their achieving the technique of the Sacred Moon Jade.

“It turns out that the Sacred Jade Moon requires to both be in communion of heart with heart. The key to mastering the technique is to be willing to be devoted and to sacrifice for each other, in life and death.”

  88. @agdr03,
I love HeiFengXi’s black outfit and his blue V-collar one he wears in court. Also loving BaiFengXi’s….oh gosh…all her pastel colour outfits, that light green, blue and lavender and the white one! It is so flowy, and there are nice details in it. Makes me feel like diving into the study of their costume design.

I’m totally gonna binge watch in these few days and save those beautiful scenes of their confessions.

I should go and watch Love 020 and King’s Avatar soon but my next Cdrama will be The Long Ballad.

Will hopefully digest the rest of the song because there is so much happening at home, with kids to take care of only my nights are available for deep reading and research like this.

  89. @Viva ‘Person on the heart’ – love it.

Are you a native speaker of Chinese or have you studied it? I have a languages background (European languages) and do wonder whether I could learn Chinese at this stage in my life when I am not really able to immerse myself in it. Another alphabet looks so challenging! I do try singing along to some of the songs when the Chinese is there phonetically – haha very badly- easier to do that with Korean.

There are a number of people who are able to go much deeper into the language as a newbie I don’t know who everyone is.

I wanted more dancing too btw!

ZL is very graceful as we saw when she pretended to be a dancer in the house of pleasure.

Aha – so that discussion with the fake travelling actors re love and talent is a foreshadowing of a decision that Lanxi may make in the future. Not a wasted word in this drama eh?!

  90. @Viva… am trying to avoid reading comments about later episodes but realise that you have already mentioned where you are in relation to Chinese!

@Grace thank you for the reflections on the song. I see that you are using that to sharpen up your Chinese too.

I wonder whether those of us not from Eastern Asian backgrounds are slowly immersing some of the qualities of Chinese language and the way our characters communicate in stories and so cleverly and indirectly.

  91. @agdr03

Back to the episode on the tower with Bai and Lanxi. I thought his sideways glance and his undisclosed ‘greed’ was hot!

  92. The final para of the post above this one doesn’t make sense!

I was wondering if watching so many dramas and immersing ourselves in the language, symbolism, story telling etc was having an impact on the way we ourselves communicate in real life!

  93. Adding here the meanings of their names. Like every culture, names hold deep meanings. Female names also tend to have reference to nature, especially clouds and flowers as we see our main leads names.

There is a lot of word play, if you realize their surnames are all Feng but the actual word is all different and mean different things. Kind of like homographs, same spelling, different meaning.

    丰兰息 Feng Lanxi
丰 Feng = Family name also meaning abundance
兰 Lan = Orchid (enduring beauty and understated elegance) When Feng Lanxi was born, all the orchids in his state bloomed
    息 Xi = breath
兰息 Lanxi = Breath of orchids

    风惜云 Feng Xi Yun
    风 Feng = Family name
    惜 Xi = Cherish
    云 Yun = Cloud
惜云 Xiyun = Carefree like a cloud

    凤栖梧 Feng Qiwu
    凤 = Family name (Phoenix)
栖梧 = rest in sycamore tree
The Phoenix rests on the sycamore tree. Refer to the sages who choose a wise master and obey. Pretty much describing her character in this drama

    皇朝 Huang Chao
    皇= emperor
    朝 = imperial Court
His name literally means emperor of the imperial court. How unoriginal 😅😅 but you will understand when you watch till the end.

    玉无缘 Yu Wuyuan
    玉 Yu = Jade
    无缘 Wiyuan = No destiny
It took me so long to realize that his name means he has no destiny, because what I watched was in English subs. When I finally realized it, I exclaimed to my hubby who laughed at how slow I was to catch it.

  94. @Viva, no worries about Glory of Special Forces. I’m still watching the episodes of WRTW in Netflix so it will be awhile yet and knowing me, I might linger longer. 🙂

@grace, I’ve watched The Long Ballad because of Lusi and it was still nice but a warning though, if you want kisses, there’s none though. It’s all angle shots to make it look like it’s kisses. I was definitely dissapointed there. The LM there finished a drama called Love Like The Galaxy with Lusi so I’m definitely watching it but yeah I’m anticipating no kisses as well. Hopefully I’m wrong. LOL.

That’s cute that you’re watching this drama with your hubby. I can’t persuade hubby in watching any dramas with me. But the last times that a new episodes of WRTW comes in the morning, he doesn’t mind me watching on my phone. He’s a light sleeper. 🙂

@Kate, oh I couldn’t agree more. That look of Lanxi to Bai when he said what he wants next was definitely hot. He looked at her like he wanted to do something to her then and there. Yum! LOL!

  95. I don’t want to spoil anything but I really want to ask this question, does drawing eyebrows have special meaning in Chinese? Where’s the emoticon? LOL!

There’s a couple of wishes that I had with regards to the ending but otherwise, it’s ok. 🙂

  96. Was it a happy ending, @agdr03? 🙂

  97. Hi. ☺️

Yes, it’s a happy one, very very simple but I know their very happy. 😍

  98. @agdr03, on the eyebrows, I really have no idea! I have read a comment somewhere wondering if there is anything special about it. I found it quite hmm..unusual. I don’t think it’s anything cultural either. Maybe they run out of romantic things to do? But having to draw eyebrows does require one to be really close to the other person and that will lead to something more??

I vaguely remembered about no romantic scenes in the Long Ballad, thanks @agdr03 for reminding me on it.
You know after watching Who rules the world, I go back to Yangyang’s You Are My Glory and wonder if I should rewatch it again! argh….I love Yangyang and Dilareba together actually…and secretly ship them.

    Anyway on the ending…
I found the ending a little rushed, there is so much more they could have done after wrapping up Yu Wuyuan’s issue. But I also heard it’s the regulation that dramas are not to be more than 40 episodes long. After all the never ending battles maybe they were exhausted…….

This drama has gotten me to read the novel
    https://www.wattpad.com/1145044900-who-rules-the-world-translated-from-the-original/

  99. @Kate If you are thinking about learning it, have a go! 😊 I borrowed some CDs and tried learning French before. Not that I learnt much, but I found it opened up the conversations when I was a tourist in Paris. They usually answered me back in English though 😂. I also borrowed a book on the Korean language. Again, I didn’t learn much but knowing the grammar structure helps me to guess the words better.

@agdr03 let me know when you start and I will start too. It is unlikely I will finish Yang Yang’s dramas anytime soon so may as well start Special Forces with you when you start. 🙂 Martial Universe is not an easy watch. I always have to adjust my mind side to a fantasy Chinese story with their created world – money system, the good sects, the evil source and energy grades etc. I watched about 8 episodes. The good thing about it is the hope to see the underdogs will achieve what they want. Quite clear who is the true love.

I won’t read the comments about the future episodes just yet but will come back to digest 🙂

  100. Episode 27

What a nice father of Bai! Bai’s family is a direct contrast to Lanxi. A loving brother who spoils her. Loving father who supports her to do what she wants.

The first meeting of Prince Huang Chao and Princess Hua. Not love at first sight. Both showed their calculating and plotting skills to get what they want.

  101. Episode 28

What a terrible father! How could he possibly do that for his son! As a viewer I cringed at the beating. I thought Yang Yang’s acting from those scenes were quite good! He threw away his Lanxi image and showed us a rundown unflattering look.

After watching the ill treatments, the best thing is to watch the tender moments between Bai and Lanxi. I thought Lu Si acted well there with her facial expressions and showed us a serious side of Bai. In the past we saw the happy cheerful side, this is the first time I saw concerns I think.

  102. Thank you @grace, they were pretty close when they were doing the eyebrow drawing so it would have been good if either one of them gave a surprised kissed on the lips. Then I would have loved it better. LOL.

I read somewhere that the director for the drama left mid filming so that probably affected the drama. The bts of the honeymoon kissing scene was funny because YY carried Lusi while kissing her. The director said both of you just lay down. YY looked disappointed. hahahha I wished they’d ask me for advice on what else is romantic for a drama ending. LOL.

It did feel rushed and really I would have loved more scenes of our couple’s simple life and maybe a scene where Bai can say to Hei that he’s going to be a Dad. Sigh.

I read somewhere that the drama was way better than the novel. I can’t read it now because I’m busy with Grandma’s 100th birthday party. 🙂

  103. I’m so sorry @Viva, I think I just spoiled it. 🙁

I’ll let you know once I start on Glory of Special Forces. I think I will definitely start it after I finished my project for Grandma. 🙂

Martial Universe is quite a long drama too. That was my first venture into a looong drama. But I thought it was fine.

I really liked Bai’s Father and brother too. They made me very emotional.

  104. @agdr03, not to worry! 🙂 I skim read only the first sentence of posts after last Tuesday so it’s OK! It’s kind of expected when watching the show in delay. A little bit like avoiding the news after a Wallabies vs All Blacks game without paying Sky haha! And it is not just the next day but 8 days!

I think Martial Universe is an OK watch so far. I am only up to ep 12, but I think it is good to watch Yang Yang played a character who is not rich, smart and appeared cold like Xiao Nai and Feng Lang Xi. In these earlier episodes this character has some annoying immaturities. That’s good! I can see what the actor is like without his usual appealing roles.

  105. Episode 31

    The chess game

Lanxi: Your attack is quick and forceful. You march ahead boldly. Don’t tell me this is your way of being an emperor?

Huang: Using the board as my world, and the pieces as my people, it will be a game of life and death between us.

(In the background, Prince number 1 is helping Lanxi. He intercepted Prince number 3’s trap for the Master Bai.)

Huang: Prince Lanxi, How can you defeat me if you only defend? One needs to fight to take control of the world instead of defending it.

    Lanxi: Is that so?

Huang: Do you really think you can turn the table like this?

Lanxi: Before the time is up, it is hard to tell who’s the victor.

Huang: You shall see how I slay the dragon with this move.

(In the background, Prince number 3 realised his plan failed.)

Lanxi: Prince Huang. Defending is to find a way to attack. I kept defending for the sake of stabilising the situation. You failed to slay the dragon. How can you defeat me after you have lost your drive and ambition? You stive for the world with your unswerving spirit. I strive for the world by making good use of everyone. The pieces that seemed insignificant which you abandoned can even change the situation at a critical moment.

Huang: I’ve learned a lot from playing with you. It doesn’t matter who wins or loses in this game. What you taught me today gave me a higher chance of conquering the world in the future.

Lanxi: A board is a board after all. The world belongs to the people. That is the intention of our predecessors, Old Taiyin and Old TianJi. If you can understand this, the people will not suffer if either of us leads the world.
Huang I understand that now. However, I still want to end this game with you. Please

(Now the sound of the bird in the background, communicate a message to Lanxi, seemingly confirmed to him the rescue of Master Bai was successful.)

    Lanxi: I lost this round.

    (Lanxi just walked away)

I thought this chess game has nicely set up the story. In the opening credits, we see a chess board. This “who rule the world” quest is really a chess game. We see all the players trying the win the world using their tactics.

Prince number 1 is an abandoned chess piece from Queen Baili and overlooked by everyone. Lanxi, true to his words, saw the value of his elder brother. Prince number 1 became someone significant and defend Lanxi from Prince number 3’s attack.

This game also shows us philosophies of Lanxi and Huang Chao. Lanxi values stability more than winning the game. Lanxi values making good use of everyone. Compared to Huang who determined to win, Lanxi, doesn’t care about getting the trophy at the end.

  106. Episode 32

@agdr03 it is very annoying of little martial sister of what she did in episode 32. She is the one character I thought was created inconsistently. She can be in a lovely sister mode when it comes to dissecting Bai’s romantic feelings for Lanxi. She then can lose her cool with Bai when it comes to her father. In my view, a reasonable person would:

    1) know Bai’s character. She loves and respects Master Bai, treats her martial siblings well

    2) She is well respected in the martial arts world for helping people, and not to kill innocent people

    3) There is no motive of Bai to kill Master Bai. What good would she get out of his death? If she wants to obtain the leader position, would she do it this obviously during their meeting?

Really, after all these years spending with Bai, can little martial sister Langhua not know Bai’s personality? Even little Han Pui makes a better judgement!

I don’t know how Bail can see her as the leader of Tian Shuang’s sect with such poor judgement! The character construction is weird.

  107. @agdr03 came upon this today on the eyebrow drawing issue!
    https://www.theworldofchinese.com/2020/10/ancient-love-tales/
    I quote:
“Zhang Chang (张敞), a Han dynasty (206 BCE — 220 CE) scholar and official, spent his mornings painting beautiful eyebrows on his wife, who had accidentally bruised hers in childhood. Zhang was reported to Emperor Xuan of Han for this violation of proper male conduct, but when questioned, Zhang simply replied: “Marital intimacy contains even more than painting eyebrows (闺房之乐,有甚于画眉者),” implying that how expressed affection to his wife was none of the emperor’s business. Zhang’s commitment to his wife left the emperor deeply touched, and the issue was not raised again.

Zhang Chang traces eyebrows (张敞画眉) that become synonymous with affectionate couples and marital love.”

How did your grandma’s 100th birthday go? 100 years is such a special age to be! She must have amazing stories to tell. Wishing her much joy and good health in her centennial years

  108. @Viva, the Go board game is such a useful tool for learning strategies of war. It commonly comes up in palace politics and war. Reminds me of the Go game in Reply 1988, is it the same?

I liked that HuangCao actually is one who is willing to learn, he was able to learn how Lanxi thinks from the game. Lanxi is also not secretive about his strategies, after all the bottom line is about having a wise leader to rule the world, not for power but for the sake of the people.

I agree on the issue about the little martial sister, it is one of the illogical parts of the drama, I doubt the novel has a situation like that…maybe I will read that part soon. But I also wonder if it is because they were rushing the drama story that they cannot expand this issue. After all this scene lead to the use of the Sacred orchid and Lanxi was able to get his powers back.

  109. @Viva, I agree about the little sister’s point in the drama. I mean they returned to their Sect after being locked in prison because Hei and Bai worked on getting them out and that’s how she repays Bai. I think we can blame the scriptwriter on her. If we want to dissect the issues of the drama, there is a lot. hahahah

But for Yang Yang and Lusi, I can totally ignore them all. LOL!

  110. @grace, thank you for the information on the eyebrow drawing! I really appreciate it. I thought it has to come from somewhere because it was not a ‘normal’ thing for me. 🙂 At least now I know.

Thank you as well for Grandma’s well wishes. The whole family is looking forward to celebrating with her and I pray everything that we’ve prepared will just make her extra happy. 🙂

  111. Episode 34

Everything is within Lanxi’s “chess game”. He calculated everyone moves and again employed the person who got overlooked – prince no. 1. It’s good to see Prince no 1 defeated his mum and little brother! That was good! After being so unfairly treated by Queen Bali!

I thought the confession of prince no. 3 to his Dad was a little out of his generally selfish character, but the Lord Young the father needed to hear! Prince no.3 effectively stood up for Lanxi, and pointed out how hard Lanxi had worked for the father. That speech saved his character a little and perhaps changed the Father’s character hopefully.

I thought the showdown was good. The martial arts part was dashing. Lanxi even knew the spy. Everything magically worked out. It’s great to see that isn’t it! Sometimes we just need that in a show. Realistic or not, it just need to work out for our leads 🙂

  112. I liked the showdown too @Viva 🙂

Yes, Queen Bali was so heartless to her first born son. It was heartbreaking for me seeing him realized over and over again that his mother cannot love him at all. 🙁

  113. @grace, thank you for sharing the eyebrow story! So it originated from a real event! I saw that plot in another story before too. It is Jun’s Yong’s The Heaven Sword and the Dragon Sabre.

***Spoiler of that story*** I thought the plot was quite romantically used there too. Earlier in the story, the male lead, in exchanged for some medicine, promised the female lead that he would do 3 things for her. Through out the story. the female leads asked him:

    1. Take her to see the Dragon Sabre which is well hidden on an island only the male lead knows.
    2. Leave his wedding ceremony and he left his then bride behind!
And 3…and the very end of the story, she asked him to draw her eye brows for the rest of her life. After they had been through all quests of learning martial arts, fighting and wars, all she wanted just a that seemingly simple request.

    Episode 40

Similarly at the end, after conquering all the wars, wandering the martial worlds for all these years. They went through life and death with only 10 years. With all the talents Lanxi had, all he wanted at the end is draw Bai’s eye brows in the morning. True to his words earlier, he didn’t want his regret to be Bai.

  114. @agdr03, hope your grandma’s birthday preparation is going well!!! That’s so good of you of doing all this planning. 🙂

Lunchtime finished! I will write more later. Cheers!

  115. Ah one more!

What are all your favourite outfits? I love Bai’s dress with featherly shoulders. I love Lanxi’s war outfits too!

  116. See you later @Viva!

Grandma’s party has a committee and it started in back in February. hehehe

  117. @Viva, I love Queen Xiyun’s outfit and headpiece when she was officially welcomed by Prince Lanxi in Yongzhou as his fiancée. It’s just gorgeous and made Lusi very pretty.🥰

My second would be the white dress with the feathers, even the red looked nice as well.

I like Lanxi in his blue ones, black ones and white ones. He’s Lord of Yongzhou outfit was nice too, the details of it were nice.

Nice to make a note of the dishes that Lanxi prepared for their date night before the wedding. A prosperous fish, child-wishing delicacies and a harmonious marriage platter.

I wished they showed it in the drama. 😁

  119. Annyeong –
good reading your comments here Bod’s.
Finally finished this show tonight. I started it, then stopped. with all the Kdrama i’m watching, i still have downtime after work haha to watch this show. slow but sure. i started the King’s Avatar a while back and need to return to it. maybe now i can hihi.

this show is pretty intense – with all the martial arts fighting and palace drama and the wars towards the finale. i like that it’s short – 30 minutes each episode. it’s pretty satisfying to watch… esp watching these lovebirds fight and flirt haha.

loved their outfits, their hair jewelries, and their palaces. it’s other worldly. don’t see that all the time.

loving how romantic and how poetic Lanxi is. Bai is totally taken as well. i like how tomboyish she is – how voracious she is. and Hei just lets her be. he even cooks for her. the ending is so dreamy – i didn’t see any garden, but how can anyone live so remotely. but so idyllic. i want that haha. secluded, quite, simple life. ahh.

but bai is fierce – can’t believe she almost died twice. what love! for Lanxi to give up so much of his life and just be happy with 10 years. what?? i like that he admitted it was selfish of him – to be the one to go first. coz who wants to be left behind?? who wants to be a widow? waaaah. anyhoo, that brow moment in the end was weird, but i hear you guys. i guess, just reminds us that anything intimate like cutting someone’s eyebrows or nose hair can be sweet haha.

anyhoo, on to the next Yang Yang show. Coz of BOD i am a fan of Yang yang now. from Love 020 to You are my glory. i do like his romantic moves. he portrays a loving, devoted guy real good. i do like his Hei Fengxi look better, with the bangs.
