Kiss Sixth Sense: Eps 1 to 6 Open Thread

The thread is now open.

I started this show by accident because the female lead played the North Korean Hyun Bin’s former fiancée in “Crash Landing on You.”  I wanted to see her play another role so she isn’t stuck in my head as a diva.

Episode 1 is interesting enough. If I remember correctly (I watched this a few weeks ago), she has a special power to see the future of a person when she touches them. Her problem begins when she accidentally “touches” her boss. The title is a giveaway. She’s learned to live with her “sixth sense” but kissing the boss is a turning point in her life.

Don’t be turned-off by the looks of the male lead. He isn’t much to look at, but I’m sure he’ll have a makeover sometime soon.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he, in turn, has some sort of special power, too, because of the uncanny way he can appease their most demanding clients.

This is on Disney+ so I’m not going to judge you if you opt to watch in other sites.  It’s on every Wednesday and Thursday?? Is this right, @Cleopatra? @GB?

See you in the thread. I’m crossing my fingers that this drama will go well.

Let’s enjoy the show.

Hi there @pkml3! Thanks for this thread!! Hi @Cleo, @Table and anyone else who’s watching.

@pkml3, you’re uncanny!!! We believe that the boss does have some special powers… he is also affected by kisses. His good friend the doctor seems to know his ‘issues’.

Simple enough premise with 2 couples in parallel but dissimilar relationships, just a few protagonists and a team. Sounds like it’s an interesting and easy watch. As usual it’s the intriguing ‘special powers’ part that draws me in.

Yes, we hope for a suitable, proper and satisfactory ending. 🙂

  2. Oh? What episode are you on, @GB? I’m still midway through Ep 2. 🙂 All I know is the boss looked suspicious when he could anticipate the demands/best interests of his clients, and when he avoided YeSul’s grasp as she was falling down on the steps. hahaha.

I knew that it was mean of him not to save her but he must have had a good reason to avoid her hand. He isn’t indifferent at all to her wellbeing since he drove her to the hospital as soon as their project was approved. So…he was avoiding physical contact with her because of some other reason.

We’ll find out soon enough. I’m glad that this kdrama only has 12 episodes.

Has the second male lead appeared yet?

  3. Growing Beautifully (GB)

I am at Episode 4. Yes 2ML has popped up. There’s also a girl who calls ML oppa…so double triangles will ensue.

I did wonder why ML would not catch FL. Later on he had no issue holding her hand.

As usual, I’ll need time to rewatch so that my comments make sense.

  4. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    *Conjectures which may be SPOILERS!!*

    *Possible SPOILERS*

*SPOILERS also for ‘Gogh, The Starry Night’*

This Show reminds me of ‘Gogh, The Starry Night’. It was a case of the boss liking his subordinate, but holding back because she was in a relationship already. He watches her through the years in her ups and downs and sees that she and her bf break up, but still does nothing romantic, but he does pay her attention. However when the ex returns, boss will step in to prevent the girl from being hurt by ex again, and also to finally claim her for himself.

So I’m also watching to see if this is the case. 😁 🤔

Off to do my grocery shopping now!!

  5. Old American Lady (OAL)

@packmule3, I have Disney+ but this drama doesn’t appear in my feed I’m As ll I’m getting is Snowdrop
Should I try to get it usingbdeatvh. Am I missing something? ,I think you’re in the USA @packmule3. BODers, any suggestions please.

BTW. The FL was the FL in Dinner Mate with Song Seung-heon. I didn’t see it but I heard good things about it.

  6. @OAL, I heard Disney+ delays the release of the kdramas here in the US (Canada included??) until the drama finishes its run in SKorea. That’s one of the reasons I was lukewarm about renewing our Disney+ membership.

  7. Old American Lady (OAL)

Thanks @packmule3. 8 understand that they’re doing more K content. My husband likes Disney for the Star Wars programs and Wandavision. I guess we’re keeping it.

I am now going to lurk on discussionscwherevI can’t get contemporaneous content(I don’t mind spoikers) and join discussions where I do. BOD has such greatvrecommendations(just finished Legally Romancecand lovedcit) so I can’t go wrong. The way I see it b is that there is so much out there and in any given month there is always at least one drama Where c I can join the BOD discussion. It’s a win win.

  8. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

My dear @OAL, I love your enthusiasm! It’s infectious!! I’d love to join in more if only time would permit. So much temptation here LOL.

I’ll keep an eye out and read ya!

  9. Old American Lady (OAL)

Thanks for the happy thoughts @GB. I have the time for enthusiasm because I’m old, retired and am socially distancing. BOD is a place where I can talk about my new favorite pastime with great people like you. You are all keeping me away from senility. You all perform the public service if keeping me from becoming a silent carrier.💐🌞🌻

  10. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

You’re amazing good company yourself @OAL. Thanks for sharing your anecdotes, life’s experiences and wisdom. 😘 (I thought a smoochy smiley was appropriate on this KISS thread!) LOL. @Cleo and I are referring to this show as KISS. 😚 😋 😂

  11. Kalimera Ladies!

    *SPOILERS BELOW*

I have watched Episodes 1-4. As we have discussed with @GB Unnie, I believe that the ML also has some special powers! I think his senses are intensified in the extreme and he cannot stand noise or touch, since he is super sensitive! Remember that he called the police to report the moto gang!

It also seems to see colours in an intense way, hence the sunglasses. Check Ep4.

I also believe that those two are connected since they were children! There was a scene where the ML was talking on the phone about an incident and he wanted to ask some questions to his discussant. So what happened and when ?

I believe that our FL Hong Ye-Sool is neutralizing the effects the ML Cha Min-Hu is manifesting! They are like a Yin Yan concept!

Also, my favorite song from the show!

Zia – Even if I can’t have you.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nj_MdhDtZ2U

P.S. @OAL is good to see you here! We want you to stay with us!

  12. Oh, thanks @Cleo, @OAL and @packmule for the thread. It sounds interesting. I saw the FL in Dinner Mate as well and the ML was in Chocolate – he was good although that drama wandered a bit.

  13. Oh, thanks for the recommendation from @Growing Beautifully as well.

This drama has one of my favourite comediennes, Hwang Bo-ra as Eomji/Um Ji. She was in Zombie Detective, Dali and Cocky Prince, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim and many more.

  14. I have Disney +, but I’m in the USA, so I can’t watch. I’m embarrassed to say I was bored yesterday and read the webtoon.
I’m surprised to hear that the ML isn’t much to look at.In the webtoon, he’s strikingly handsome. They do indeed have a childhood connection and their powers are connected to it. This might be a spoiler….. He remembers her and their connection, but she doesn’t recognize him.

  15. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    @Cleo and @Dlia
Thanks for giving us your points and I don’t mind spoilers from the manhwa or wherever.

The ML looks OK, (it’s a matter of personal taste?) especially when he decides to dress up a bit more. He carries himself well.

I’m glad to know that they have a childhood connection. There are hints given in the first dream that we get in Episode 1 that at least she was in an orphanage, possibly happy with a friend as we see a little girl and boy running hand in hand. She’s also likely the child who fell into water and sank. She’s shown in the dream to be an adult in fetal position still underwater. The dream is interrupted by her waking suddenly as a giant hand approaches her underwater.

The motif of water keeps cropping up. We see in the opening credits the back of ML and through his body we see the water of a pond(?). Metaphorically our leads or at least Hong Ye Sool/SL is ‘submerged’ in their own concerns, drowning in work, sinking in a world of their own/wanting to remain in the womb like an unborn child??? Of course the child seemed unconscious at first… maybe left to drown, but the adult remained mostly unmoving in the water?

Only once in the dream did I see a struggle to move in the water, otherwise the girl seemed to have fallen/dropped into the water and sank without protest.

So if you say there is a childhood connection then our guess is that YS and boss Cha Min Hu/MH may have been kids in the same orphanage. MH is mentioned to have parents, therefore maybe he was adopted or was in the orphanage only temporarily.

Very quickly we are given the premise of how she predicts the rain to the very second. That’s scary!! Generally she said that she knows her predictions will happen but not when.

Her colleagues seem to know that she speaks of Sixth Sense. Both she herself mentions it and MH also asks if her Sixth Sense didn’t work for her in warning her that he’d hate the ad.

She seems to pay special attention to the loud summer rain. Water again?

I like how show morphs YS’s walk back into the office into the advertisement for the bed.

  16. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I forgot to mention that the zoom out at the beginning of the episode, where we get to see the entire office with floor of the ‘lobby’ below the steps… also gives us the impression that YS in the office is also in a blue, icy sea, surrounded by blue walls and a cold looking floor.

In her voiceover of her Sixth Sense and how she knows in advance that she’ll end up in bed with ‘him’ and regret it,… “My sixth sense. I’ve foreseen it several times that he and I will end up like this.”
Strangely… “Even though I know it, I’ll end up doing it.” So what’s the use of having the gift of foreknowledge if it does not keep a person from regret?

  17. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

The 3 Falls of YS (into water)
We get so much prep on the falling into water in the dream…

It struck me on my 3rd viewing that when YS falls down the steps and lands on the floor… (because MH refused to catch her!) she lies on the floor that looks like icy, cold water and pretends that she’s examining it. She even lies on her back ‘floating’ on the water. LOL. That being in above her head in water image appears strong in Episode 1.

I wonder if there’s a significance that YS trips and falls a second time, landing on a white table, when she’s caught by surprise that MH and Actress Ji Young seem to be close ie it looked like he was about to kiss Ji Young.

In the beginning of the episode she comments on the loud summer rain, looking out at it wistfully. The episode ends with her and MH both in the rain, and falling (her 3rd trip and FALL!) onto a bed, that fortunately happens to be there, LOL.

The accidental kiss trope is of course a must-have in this show, since she gains her foreknowledge through physical contact with her lips.

It then becomes significant that MH tells her to ‘watch her mouth’ when she catches him with Ji Young. MH comes out quickly to tell her: “What happened earlier was…” but she does not let him continue. (It was probably something innocent.)

He sees that she misunderstands, thinking that he goes around kissing this girl or that girl LOL. He deliberately discomfits her by pinning her to the wall with arms astride her, telling her: “I did it with that girl but not with this girl. It’s a misunderstanding, so watch your mouth.”

She has to watch what she says as well as whom her lips come in contact with. She also has to be more careful so that she does not keep falling!! Of course by the end of the episode, she falls to plant a kiss on MH in the presence of the pouring rain. 😆 😜

  18. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    EPISODE 1
    The Gift of Being Convincing
We find that MH has the ability to convince.

He made quite an impression on YS in his mentoring because she uses the same words to give Min Hee a pep talk that MH had used with YS. “Are you getting fired? Did you get dumped by your boyfriend? Are you so sick that you can’t help crying? If it’s not one of these three cases, don’t cry. At least not at your workplace.” And then as MH had done for her, she gives a charge card to Min Hee to spend some money on herself and to rest, to cheer up. (The question is moot about whether these are the only 3 circumstances that permits one to cry in the workplace).

He had said, and now she says to Min Hee: “Here. Go to a hair salon and take a two-hour nap. The way you look now, you won’t be able to convince anyone.”

The job of most people, especially in those of marketing/advertising, is to convince others. The makers of the ads need their ads themselves to be convincing in order to work.

In the beginning, YS is convinced that she has sixth sense, however as we progress to other episodes, she starts to wonder if thinking she knew the future, made that a self-fulfilling prophecy because she made decisions to bring about the expected prediction.

However with Oh Ji Young, we see that YS also has the ability to talk in such a way that JY is convinced to do the ad shoot as they planned. So she’s not lacking in being convincing with some persons.

    Powers of Foreknowledge
Show gives us lots of hints that YS and MH are not too different in their ‘powers’.
Eom Ji is slacking at work and YS knows exactly when to come down and catch her.
EJ to YS : “I wasn’t slacking off. Don’t watch me.” (She’s spending time looking at photos of Ro Woon?) …”You’re like a ghost. You psychic bitch. A bitch who is just like Cha Min Hu.”

We know that MH knew which hospital to drive YS to. He had even phoned his doctor friend in advance so that the doc was apprised of the problems YS had with sleep.

MH knew she was outside the door of his office before she could knock. (He may have seen her pass by but again, maybe not).

Planning Team 1 have a meal in the office without MH. They wonder how he knows the needs of every client although he never goes out to meet them.
Sang Goo : “He can read other people’s minds.”
The intern finds it hard to believe.
YS : “You’ll see that when you follow him to presentations. He has the ability to shut people up by figuring out what they’ll say before they even open their mouths.”
EJ : “He even distinguished a heavy rain from a shower during post-sync. He’s a five-sense freak who knows the colour of every sound.” (So we get clues here that MH hears more than the average person does. He can perhaps hear thoughts too.)

An interesting comment from YS’s housemate, Ban Ho Woo/HW. Ho Woo says more than once that she does not have much time left. “You know what my future will be like.” At least Ho Woo believes that YS can see the future. HW in next episodes will seem to be trying to live it up like crazy before her time is up?

To an extent, I agree that knowing the future of others is a curse for YS. The questions: to know it and not to be able to tell the person? To know it and to adjust her own reactions and responses? To set a person to worry about their short future?

But at the same time, because she had foreknowledge, she was prepared with a spare dress for one of the ad shoots. She probably rightly broke up with those jerks of boyfriends before she got really hurt. It is a mixed blessing?

  19. @GB, there are lots of differences between the webtoon and the drama. In the webtoon, neither YS nor MH are orphans, but they each lost one parent as a child. Their parents’ deaths are part of their childhood connection. There’s a mystery involving the tragic death of YS’s father. It’s not solved yet. The manhwa is on-going ( at least the English translation is on-going). Also, there’s no water motif. MH doesn’t have the gift to convince. He’s just good at his job. His gifts can help him know things that others don’t though,so that could give him an advantage. YS’s mother is annoying, so no loss there.

  20. Kalimera!

I haven’t read all of your posts @GB Unnie! I need to rewatch the start of Episode 1, because I don’t remember some details about Hong Ye-Sool’s dream you are writing. I will read your thoughts and I will return!

@Dlia I don’t know why everyone is so focused on Yoon Kye-Sang’s looks. I have read the same arguments on MDL. I really like him as a man and as an actor. He is also an idol. He is charming. I have seen him before in “Chocolate” and he grew on me. He sings and acts pretty good. I have heard he was pretty good on his latest show the “Crime Puzzle”.

I think it is time for us to appreciate someone for his / her acting abilities. I know some who are called “pretty” and are not good in acting at all.

    Anyway, it is an adaptation.

  21. @GB Unnie,

I think the show is playing with “foreshadow” techniques. I have to rewatch Episodes 1-4 again in order to comment more, but I think you have a point about your “convince” catch.

I don’t think that Cha Min-Hu has “convincing” as a superpower. He rather knows that he has to convince his clients in order to take the job.
So, he has built a philosophical system let’s say, where he implements his knowledge in marketing techniques, his experience with dealing with difficult customers and unexpected problems, along with his superpowers.
Min Hu is basically anticipating the customers’ responses and he strategically acts and reacts in order to “convince” them. He is not only good in marketing but in management as well!

Since Cha Min-Hu is Hong Ye-Sool’s mentor, she learned Min Hu’s approach / system in her work. She is following his lead, hence she is the yin to his yan.

    *to be continued…

  22. Dear All, it seemed to me that Cha Min-Hu has transitory sensory issues, and these are being treated as possibly a neurological or psychological problem. He is hypersensitive to light, sound and smell. He takes medicine to help suppress the pain (headaches?) he gets. I don’t know if it’s like a migraine or not. Sometimes it’s so bad he needs to wear sunglasses and noise-blocking earphones. I think that when the lights went out in a recent episode, he could see well both because of his light sensitivity and because he may have been wearing the dark glasses.

I think that both he and Ye-Sool have learned to read body language well. She always knows that he will scold her if he rubs his throat. Sometimes it seems that he has a similar ability to see a future event.

During the falling kiss trope, MH had an interesting look on his face. Unlike most similar scenes in other dramas; we’re not seeing him looking surprised, horrified, or excited. He was watching YS’s face very closely to see her reaction.

After this point his symptoms start to lessen. He asks his friend/doctor if his medication has been changed. I agree with @Cleo that she is the yin to his yang.

I agree with @Cleopatra as well about the ML. He’s not fairy tale handsome, but looks like a real person. He has a weighty presence in this sort of role.

  23. I only read the webtoon. Of course the leads are comic book gorgeous and the supporting characters comment on their looks a lot. I’m not critiquing the actors’ looks. Believe me, you couldn’t make a decent drama out of the source material without making lots of adaptations.
In the webtoon, Chu Min Hu has heightened senses due to an event that happened in his childhood. He can hear conversations happening in a different room, which comes in handy when rescuing damsels in distress. Food smells nauseate him. The slightest noise keeps him awake. His condition causes a lot of discomfort to say the least. His doctor’s advice is to concentrate on the voice of the one he loves. That makes all the difference!☺️ He doesn’t see the future, but his senses help him react to or anticipate events. He also knows things about YS because he remembers their childhood connection, and he’s known right along who she is.

  24. I just wanted to add that the relationship between MH and YS in the source material is similar to that between the leads of What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? with the addition of superpowers. I believe that also originated as a manhwa.

  25. Kalimera everyone! *S P O I L E R s below*

Since my days are hectic. I decided to watch our easy going KISS. I watched Episodes 5-6 back to back and I got my swoony dose of cuteness!

First of all, we get to know that Min Hu has sensory overload, so @Fern you got the apprepriate terminology, while me and @GB Unnie were discussing it by commenting on his symptoms. We are all in the same page though.

Also, we got to know that his hearing is advance. He can listen anything even though he is some meters away from Ye Sool.

As @DLIA pointed above, MinHu can listen to YeSool’s heartbeat. His doctor has told him to focus on the things that he loves and especially if he has a woman he loves to focus on her.

So, his advance hearing saved the girl, and more.

I have to say that Episode 5-6 were pretty solid. I really enjoyed the MinHu’s condition to YeSool in order to sleep together. You should watch this one.

@Fern, I really like that Cha Min-Hu as portrayed by Yoon Kye-Sang is a man that really exists around us and not someone who is too perfect.
CMH made me swoon over him yesterday!

I will be waiting you all to discuss the scenes when and where that happened because he portrayed the emotions pretty solid. He was caring but blunt at the same time!

@GB Unnie, you should watch these episodes! We need to talk about it…🤩😅😂

P.S. I might do a rewatch on Episodes 1-6. I want to see if I missed anything the first time around!

P.S. Yesterday on MDL they were saying that Yoon Kye-Sang was hot. Look how things can change in a matter of two episodes…Tsk tsk tsk 😋😊😂

  26. @Cleopatra, I will watch 5-6 today. Thanks for the updates!

Yes if he can hear Ye Sool’s heartbeat, that’s incredible hearing. Somewhere I read that infants can hear minute things like a fly or mosquito outside of a windowpane. There are little hairs inside the ear that get damaged easily with loud noise, so our good hearing disappears bit by bit. I can’t hear mosquitoes in the room anymore unless they are right by my ear.

I hope that you are well.

  27. @packmule3, please could you open a thread for episode 5-6?

  28. Hey my dear @Fern!

    I am okay, just tired.

Not only YeSool’s heartbeat but everything in a very big radius. Incredible hearing that is! You need to watch that scene you will laugh and smile at the same time!

I think it would be better if we had a thread for Episodes 5-8…More to discuss! LOL!

  29. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Cleo, I just watched Episodes 5 and 6 and will wait for the new thread before I comment with spoilers. I, too, have to rewatch Episodes 2-4. I didn’t pay enough attention the first time.

I’ll comment here on those episodes if anything strikes me. 🙂

    *POSSIBLE SPOILER*

@Fern, I like that MH’s hearing can be focused on just one person. That explains how he can be near where YS is. It might also explain why he can say what his clients want to hear, if he was able to hear them from a distance speaking to each other.

  30. Finally! @GB Unnie I was waiting for you!

    I am so excited LOL!

  31. May I suggest something? Should we say to @Packmule3 to change this thread to Episodes 1-6 and make another one for Episodes 7-12?

  32. Please do, @Cleopatra. I’ve asked for 5-6 but she seems very busy.

  33. @Fern,

I think that would be more easier for everyone. And @GB Unnie can comment over here as well!

    Are you okay?

  34. Correction: *easier

  35. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Certainly @Cleo and @Fern, if @pkml3 is available, she can change the thread to 1-6.

I’d like to slowly comment on Episodes 2-4 first though before I head into Ep 5 which was a good prelude to Ep 6.

  36. @GB Unnie,

Take your time. I will mostly rewatch Ep1-6 during the weekend. First, I have to finish watching “Reset”.

I agree that this week’s episodes were pivotal for what is going to happen next.

  37. @Cleopatra, I’m fine. Off topic: We have a rainy day here. Typical for this area.

Rather frustrated. I just heard that house guests we were expecting will not be coming in August. Their visit had made me invest in much needed house decor and in turning a room into a guest bedroom. Well, as I said, it was already needed. Not sure when I should break it to husband… The good news is we will have a decent place for a guest or two.

  38. Off Topic:

    Dear @Fern,

We are going to have rain as well for the next days as well. The phenomenon starts tonight!

It is okay to feel frustrated. I understand though what you are saying. At least you have a decept for a guest or two. Focus on the positive and when it is the right time you will break it to your husband… *Hugs*

  39. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks @Dlia for the information on Cha MH from the manhwa. His heightened senses explains why there is no food in his home. He has to avoid everything that stimulates the senses.

I wonder what he can even eat without finding it overly seasoned or spiced!

I’m waiting for the episode where we find out their childhood connection, plus what happened to bring about his sensory overload problem. 🙂

  40. Kalimera Ladies!

Here is a beautiful edit by Ella for Cha Min Hu and Hong Ye Sool!

    Enjoy!

  41. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Episode 2 Ad Hoc Thoughts
Hong Ye Sool protests often that she’s not interested in Cha Min Hu, and she really believes it, but her reaction when she sees that he goes up to speak with actress Oh Ji Young during the Billy shoot, suggests that his paying attention to the girl who calls him ‘oppa’ does affect her.

YS is convinced that the visions of the future always come true, and is floored by the fact that MH does not have a scar on his back as seen in her vision.

MH’s enhanced senses are phenomenal because he’s way up in his apartment and not only does he hear the motorbike racing on the streets far below, but with his naked eyes, he can report the license plate numbers of the 3 motorbikes.

MH’s sense of smell is so acute, that long before the strong smelling homeless man comes to the pop-up store, he asks for air freshener. It’s almost as if he, too, has foreknowledge. He can also see that one of the frames of the display structure is not stable.

    ===
MH gives us a model of what a good mentor is: He expected that YS would make mistakes but says: “But since I let you take charge of the project, I thought I should let you experience going through the whole process too. And I still have faith in you.” He did not want her to be overly dependent on him but he still stood by with a more likely winning proposal in case YS failed in hers. At the end of the successful project, he gave credit to YS and to the team members. He even gave them a treat as a reward. The other Team Leaders are shown to be some of the worst types as foils to MH.

    ===
We see that certain individuals have a bee in their bonnets about certain topics. Eom Ji has getting a boyfriend, and sex on her mind.

Min Hee keeps astutely guessing that there’s something going on between YS and MH (and later YS and Pil Yo). She repeatedly asks about these.

As EJ and Min Hee speak about dating boss MH, YS lays out 2 scary scenarios of what it would be like to date their sociopathic boss. I don’t think she believes them herself, they are too over-the-top!

Scenario 1. MH comes up the stairs cheesily with flowers and balloons, while making a dramatic entrance for YS. But he pushes the balloons aside to demands to know if she read the ‘sign’ (as interpret his behaviour?) that he was going to ask her out that day. He proceeds to criticise her, then almost as an afterthought, he says she can go out with him if she likes, as he rudely tosses the bouquet of flowers at her.

Scenario 2. MH comes screeching YS’s name. He scolds her in high pitch tone for her incompetence. He tosses all her printouts into the air. Then suddenly asks if she knows how to kiss with much tongue flicking action LOLOL. (This show has a lot of tongue flicking. Eom Ji does it, now the imaginary MH does it and later Sang Goo does it too!!!) He demands a kiss although he can’t kiss her for the whole night. YS screams in protest as eyes bulging, he puckers and smacks his lips at her. LOL. Of course Min Hee and Eom Ji change their minds about dating the boss.

    ===
The real MH shows up to stop YS from drinking another Red Bomb that keeps her awake. He tells her to do her work in a shorter time so that she can sleep instead of relying on Red Bomb. His concern shows up in his nagging.

Oh Ji Young puts on a appearance to look sweet to the public, but because she overheard YS venting (badmouthing MH), she punishes her by making her get coffee. OJY is a petty, spoilt, entitled brat.

The missing scar is explained when MH saves YS from falling backwards, himself landing on flower pots. His doctor friend tries to get him together with YS by making her drive MH home from hospital. We get to see the first time that YS drags MH home over her back. It’s interesting that this will not be the last time. There will also be a time (or more than 1 time?) when he’d be carrying her on his back as well.

This show has a few repeated tropes which bring in the manhwa feel.

YS cannot believe that she’d end up in bed with MH, while she recalls her vision of them in the future. She decides to check out the vision again. In the theme of being convincing, it seems YS herself has to be convinced. It takes 4 more episodes to convince her.

  42. @Cleopatra, thank you for the video mix of visions and reality. The song goes well with it.

@Growing Beautifully, I wonder that we didn’t see MH’s reaction to having a scar after YS had asked him ‘Where is the scar?’ in episode 1. He never seems very surprised about the truth that she has a 6th sense. Yet, in the work setting, however, I think that he and the co-workers use 6th sense in a figurative way meaning being perceptive about clues and using research to predict actions or events. Although YS can predict rain and things about people if they come into contact with her lips, she can’t predict other things and has to rely on her reactions and intellect.

    She is clumsy, though.

I’m up to date on the episodes now.

  43. @Fern

You are welcome! Ella is a pro. She is making the most interesting and emotional fan made edits I have watched on YouTube!

Regarding to your question to @GB Unnie, I think we need to remember that Min Hu can listen clearly to what she is saying or mumbling.

How can someone who has a secret of his own to feel suprised when something surreal comes in the open? Ye Sool can see the future if she kiss someone and he can hear / see / taste / touch in an advance mode.

In my opinion, Min Su is relieved that there is out there someone who has a superpower “secret” of its own. If we keep in mind that they knew each other as children that means he is more elated about it. Ye Sool is his person.

  44. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Hi @Fern and @Cleo
LOL, yes, Ye Sool is clumsy … I’m counting the number of times she tripped and fell or almost fell. I think I’ve reached the count of 3 by Episode 6.

It’s true that in their job of pleasing the client, they have to have some degree of 6th sense in knowing what will convince the client. In the first Episode, MH said something like that too in one of his meetings with his staff.

I felt that YS was not too bad in this area with people like OJY. Of course, OJY was already predisposed to do the ad for Min Hu, but YS added the extra carrot that OJY’s fans would be interested in her personally, as in what she was sleeping on, etc. So the ad would boost her popularity or keep her in the public eye as well.

Yes, @Cleo, MH may favour YS even more, not only because they have a childhood connection, but because she’d be able to accept his difficult hyper sensitivity to stimuli, since she too has her strange 6th sense. On top of this, it seems that with YS, he is able to come in contact with her or kiss her without it causing him pain for long. At first he had pain for a few days, then the 2nd time he had pain for a few hours. The 3rd time she kissed his hand and he felt fine. He asked his doc friend, Seung Tak, if he had changed his medication.

YS gives him hope that in some ‘natural’ way, being with her reduces the symptoms or they don’t emerge, even after she touches him. She had said that she knew he didn’t like it when she touched him, but he said he was alright ‘now’. She wondered what he meant by ‘now’.

It’ll be nice to watch MH and YS becoming happier together. They so seldom smile now or laugh out loud in a natural, open way. I’d like to see them enjoying living and each other before too long. 🙂

  45. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks for re-naming the thread, @pkml3.

This is a pretty show to watch. So far quite uncomplicated, before we find out the backstory of YS and MH as children.

  46. @Growing Beautifully, thanks for your ideas, which are similar to mine. YS clumsily broke the brown glass vase at MH’s apartment as well while explaining about a plant breaking in her premonition. 🤦‍♀️

At the hospital, when MH’s doctor waffled a bit at first about YS being in contact with MH, he said something about how it might make MH uncomfortable. It made me wonder if MH had confided to the doctor at an earlier point that he liked her or tried to restrain his liking for her at work. Then the doctor seemed to change his mind and was very keen to have YS drive MH home. Poor lady, she really struggled with him after he fell asleep/unconscious. As you said, MH told YS that it was okay to touch him ‘now’ – now that his feeling about her are out in the open.

In episode 6, weren’t you surprised by MH’s resurrection from passed-out drunk to inviting YS to try the kiss again, which she did twice as far as we know? I laughed because minutes earlier she was dragging him single-handedly out of a taxi and into her house.

  47. I think one of my posts went away. I wondered if anyone watching this drama is also watching ‘Link’? Or perhaps I posted it on the Link thread. There are some similarities in plot themes, but the style is very different. The actor Yoo Jung Ho who plays the unpleasant male team leader in Kiss is also in Link – potentially a dodgy type there, too.

  48. I just checked, @Fern. Your post isn’t in my pending or spam boxes. 🙁

  49. Thank you for checking. I probably had a glitch on this side.

  50. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Fern, about Seung Tak waffling on… he started from Episode 1 where he let on that someone called him in advance about YS.

First Seung Tak revealed that YS was not the only AE (Advertising Executive?) whom he had as a patient. Then…
ST : “You’re not the only one worried about your health. Please don’t make me suffer anymore.” Next he carelessly revealed “If you make that son of a gun call me again …”
YS asked : “That son of a gun?”
ST realises that he’s a loose canon, got up, then sat down and told her not to take Red Bomb and expresso.

From this she might guess that MH had called ahead to report on her to ST.
    ===
The scene you’re referring to is in Episode 2. ST calls to find out if MH got home all right but YS answers the phone.

Yes, he says: “But it’ll be harder for him if you’re there.” – I too wondered what he was referring to. I feel that MH is not so likely to reveal that he likes YS to anyone, however his concern for her speaks volumes.

Not only did he call ahead to ensure ST knew about her condition and how she drank Red Bomb, but he had gotten hurt saving her and wanted her out of the way when she was at the hospital with him. ST’s face was easy to read. He glanced back and forth between them and believed that
MH liked YS. Hence his match-making in getting her to drive MH home and put him to bed instead of bringing him back to the hospital.

Perhaps ST thought that MH would kiss her, since he liked her, and end up in greater pain.

  51. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Episode 3 – Ad Hoc Thoughts
We find out more about YS.
    1) She talks too much when she’s drunk, hence even the friendly bar owner of Que Sera Sera knew that her ex-bf was Pil Yo
    2) She’s been uncertain if her relationship breakups are because she turned her predictions into reality. The question is repeatedly asked about whether it would have made a difference if she’d told her ex-bfs.

She takes the predestination idea a step further. Instead of telling her bfs or trying to work around the prediction to stop it from happening, she heads straight for the predicted conclusion. It appears that she never really cared for those ex-bfs, since she was always prepared to let them go. The only one she cried over was PY.

YS’s cousin, Ho Woo is too brilliant, selfish and too cavalier in her dating. Personally I don’t like how she treats herself and the men she meets, as simply the means to get quick, non-committal fun, and then to be discarded ‘after use’. I was pretty shocked that if one guy was not available, any other ‘decent’ guy would do for her one week no-strings jaunt.

We are not let into just what her deadline is… but it could be that she was entering medical school or starting a new term and wanted to live it up in her ‘free time’. She has a bucket list of wishes to get through and seemingly lots of money to indulge whatever she wanted to do, since she gave away her fishing gear without a pang.

MH mentors YS by getting her to follow him around and then modeling the work she is to do, by doing it himself. He too helps to take down the ad displays. From YS’s encounter with the workman there, she finds out that MH had been specially checking the venue and set up for her beforehand, but he had kept this from her. He does not even let her carry the box.

We find out that MH had been with her during her break up with PY, and that he’d kept her company plus watched over her so that she’d get home safely while drunk. Since YS wants to tell MH her secret, she drinks more, and true enough she reveals the truth.

When she asks if she can double check on her vision of their future, it seems to be the opening that MH has been waiting for. He is the one to initiate the kiss (to romantic music LOL)

Even if all the other signs were not crystal clear, this is an obvious sign that he likes her. No man will want to kiss a woman he dislikes or is indifferent towards. (Of course by Episode 6 we know more about how long he’s liked her.)

  52. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Still on Episode 2-3
Pil Yo’s award winning film, Haroo, is based practically exactly on his relationship with YS. It looks like he must have written the script as well, because the words spoken by the actors are the same as the words PY and YS had exchanged at their breakup. Even the messed up state of the room was similar.

The great dis-service that YS had done to PY was to break up without giving him the reason why. She could have told him that he would end up with a lovely family of his own without her, but of course, he might not have believed her. Still it would have been a reason for her actions. Without the closure, PY was unable to let go. I cringe at his clinginess but at the same time, I feel sorry for him. He is prepared to put aside his pride, when he admits to carrying around the ring that is meant for YS. (Later he admits to wanting to get her back).

The roof of Jeonin Shopping Centre was a fave haunt for YS and PY when they were dating. On it was the huge billboard of the ‘Birth of Zelus’. Wikipedia tells us: “In Greek mythology, Zelus or Zelos (/ˈziːləs/; Ancient Greek: Ζῆλος Zēlos, literally ‘zeal’) was the daimon that personifies dedication, emulation, eager rivalry, envy, jealousy, and zeal. The English word “zeal” is derived from his name.” – this are traits that YS faces everyday from her colleagues, even those on her own Team 1. She, however, does not seem to evince any of these except maybe, zeal.

I noted that when YS sat at the foot of the billboard, she was totally dwarfed by it. I wondered if it was a sign that she felt small in her world, or whether, although she was small/young by comparison with some of the others, she had the zeal to take her to the top of her field.

Zeal should also be the trait that she brings into her relationships, rather than giving up soon after she gets her premonitions of a breakup.

  53. Episode 1

The dream Ye Sool was watching in the opening scene was the following:

She was dreaming the time when she was a little girl. She was near an orphanage, it was called Noel Orphanage and she was with a little boy. They were playing and holding hands. Later on something happens and we get to see her in fetus position inside a pond. She is her adult self. Then, she wakes up.

The little boy must be Min Su but she has forgotten him.

Also, we know that when her power manifested for the first time when she was a kid, she foresaw her father’s death. She was also in a hospital gown and I believe that they were together in a car accident or another “unknown” incident for us now.

After that she saw that her mother would be an actress (?), and win prizes etc. We do know that her mother lives in the States.

Regarding the misunderstanding she had with Min Su and Oh Ji-Young and the kiss they supposedly had. She tripped -again- and she fell.
I think she has balance issues because of the red bomb + prescribed meds + insomnia.

If you see the scene again, Min Su is trying to say something quietly to Ji Young and YS misinterpret it as a “kiss” moment. The thing is that Min Su came to her, she was talking nonsense and she found herself stuck with her back at the door, while he was blocking her. He also put his hands above her and he whispered to her that:

MH:I did it with this girl (meaning OJY), but not with that girl (meaning herself). It’s a misunderstanding, so watch your mouth. Alright?

He was not flirting with her at first, but Min Su’s tone changed slightly in the between and he was definitely teasing her. Waiting for her reaction. Ye Sool was flustered.
So, she was not saying the truth to herself about Min Hu for a long time. As he did the same.

The Kiss in the Billy Warehouse

When he took food to the workers, he realized that it was going to rain, because he felt that something changed in the atmosphere. That’s why he was looking around him in an alarmed away. Most likely when he was inhaling oxygen, with his advanced sense of smell, he could taste the humidity in the air or even smell how Nature reacts.

    During the Rain.

Min Hu was frustrated with her, because she was submissive. He knew that Ye Sool was not responsible for the setting up. The one responsible was Team Manager Yeom Kyung-Seok who was heavily drinking with ladies in a club.

Min Hu was also frustrated with her, because in case of an emergency, she didn’t have a back up plan.

He was also worried for her.

YS was the PM for Billy advertisement, she had a nosebleed, she was continue not to listen to her doctor and at the same time, she was not standing her ground. He wanted her to take action and find a solution, because he didn’t want her to be scolded by their superiors.

BTW, Team Manager Yeom is an nasty character, he is the antagonist, who wants to take them off the picture and he is doing several things in the meantime for them to get fired or scolded. I am curious if the CEO knows more than he says, but at the same time, he doesn’t reprimand him. Are they related? Is he a chaebol as well? I am waiting to see how the Mopix campaign will go in Episodes 7-8.

Now, let’s go to the “accidental” kiss inside the Billy Warehouse.

When Ye Sool tripped, Min Su was not surprised because he anticipated that she will trip. Let’s say he “heard” her foostep that was not steady seconds before she actually tripped.
He was frozen and didn’t do anything and he was watching her closely.
He understood that something was happening to her, because of her facial reaction. At the same time, we now know, that he was checking / listening for her heartbeat or anything else that could be important to him.

    *End of Episode 1*

  54. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Cleo, yes it’s true about what you say:

Regarding the misunderstanding she had with Min Su and Oh Ji-Young and the kiss they supposedly had. She tripped -again- and she fell.
I think she has balance issues because of the red bomb + prescribed meds + insomnia.

If you see the scene again, Min Su is trying to say something quietly to Ji Young and YS misinterpret it as a “kiss” moment. He also put his hands above her and he whispered to her that:

MH:I did it with this girl (meaning OJY), but not with that girl (meaning herself). It’s a misunderstanding, so watch your mouth. Alright?

MH was demonstrating to YS that what he had been doing was going close to OJY to speak softly in her ear. So he did it to YS as well LOL and she still misunderstood. I guess as a boss he usually spoke quite loudly and did not stand so physically near his female colleagues to whisper… so it’s true he never ‘did it’ with this girl (YS).

  55. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    @Cleo

This actor has the kind of face (and they also used makeup to make him look more vile) that just oozes self-interest, disdain of others and looks like he will cause trouble, just because he can.

One of our BODers mentioned that he’s also in Link and I saw his filmography… he’s a prolific actor. We need these kinds of antagonists, the grey to grey-black characters whom we can easily love-to-hate, LOL.

Yes, you bring up something that I often wonder about. I just assumed that the drama needs his ‘bad working attitude’ type of character, so he does not get fired, but he SHOULD!!! It irritates me that he gets to keep his job, gets to boss good people around, gets to badmouth others or set them up for a fall. And the big bosses either know and let him, or don’t ever seem to know.

    *SPOILER*

    *SPOILER*

I like that MH tells him off to his face for his 15 years of experience where he’d only learned to lay the blame on others to cover his own laziness and night time partying.

However in the case of leaking the Mopix V9 photo, I believe it was not him but the jealous lady Team Manager, Jo Sun Hee. She’d found out from incautious Min Hee that YS and PY took the car for a test drive. How she could get hold of the photos, is an interesting question. It means that someone on PY’s team was also not to be trusted.

  56. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Episode 4 – Ad Hoc Thoughts
Min Hu does not seem to worry about what people who know him or Oh JY may say or think. I’d have expected him to get the clothes for YS from some place who does not know him and OJY, but he goes to LISA who knows them and of course OJY finds out that the exact outfit she had her eye on was bought in a different size by MH. To cover her chagrin that he bought it for someone else, she pretends that the size was right for her, and that MH must have bought it for her.

In true webtoon and drama style, the event that is most to be hidden is amusingly, coincidentally witnessed by not one but at least 2 of main characters. MH and YS coming down from the hotel rooms in a lift together, first thing in the morning, cannot be more suggestive, especially because it’s PY and then ST who catches them.

The men (MH and PY) keep up a professional front for now… let’s see how long they can manage it!! LOL.

    ===
Show milks the discomfort in the protagonists through EJ who is voluble on how car camping can include makeout sessions, or how car kisses progress to hotel rooms. Even MH could not keep from giving YS a couple of glances to see how she took the on point suggestions.

Min Hu decides to wrap up the meeting to avoid further discomfort.

    ===
His directives bother YS. He says: “Let’s put everything down on paper and set up another meeting. Except don’t throw everything out there that you can’t justify. Let’s not pull together something that sounds so unbelievably ridiculous that you can’t be accountable for. Please take responsibility for every sentence that’s written up in the proposal. Only write down things that are convincing. ‘I don’t care if I use the backspace key to delete it.’ I hate this type of attitude.”

YS comes striding into MH’s office. She takes his comments to the team personally as if he were telling her off for lying about her sixth sense.
YS : “I’ll prove it. You don’t believe me. Right? That I can see the future.”
MH : “And what you said after that.”
YS : “Let me prove it to you. I’ll make you believe me. Let’s meet after work.”

Then MH asks her something interesting.
MH : “By the way, when did you start wearing perfume? Did you wear the same perfume on the day of the Billy shoot?”
YS : “I don’t use perfume.” She leaves the office.
MH covers his nose and mouth and sniffs, looking puzzled. (So does a natural scent emanate from her so that he no longer feels sick after she kisses him? Does it make a difference to his Kiss Sense, if she kissed him, or bumped lips or if he initiated the kissing?)

Even if MH were not interested in YS, … even if he didn’t like her,… the phenomena of why his pain did not continue for days in YS’s presence, would be something that MH would hang around YS to investigate.

    ===
YS regrets her reckless demand to meet MH for more kissing to prove her sixth sense LOL. However when he issues a challenge asking how she’d prove it, she rises to it instead of backing down. So she does embody a certain ‘zeal’ (I posted a note on Zelus above) and she does take responsibility for what she says.

Her predictions are pretty unique so that they can prove that she is truthful. Unfortunately she still cannot recall the visions from the car kiss. What would have been different if she had?

    ===
Errr…. Oh dear… ewww… aegyo over phone. Ho Woo and ST are on the line for 13 hours!!! Doing voice aegyo. That’s amazing battery life of their phones!

This episode gives us HW’s point of view that long-term relationships are too heartbreaking (she cites YS and PY as the example), hence she would go for intense, passionate and a vrey short dating relationship, and break up while it was still good. It’s a very manhwa sort of way of thinking and I hope youngsters don’t follow this advice!

For such an intelligent girl, HW lacks emotional intelligence and some common sense. (Yes, on top of being an entitled brat). She assumes that just because she says so, the hapless partner will go along with her, and that no one will be hurt. We watch this couple out of fascination at the their outrageous-ness.

Is it an omen that while watching a romantic movie, ST falls asleep on HW’s shoulder but wakes with a violent start saying he had a nightmare? They go to a hotel but that’s a failure, due to ST. Depressed, he starts literally chest beating like an ape (to wake up his animal manhood???) so she in equally ape-like way, gives him another chance. They behave brazenly more like apes than humans and I’m not sure whether to find it funny or distasteful. LOL.

    More later…

  57. @Growing Beautifully, I thought MH’s directive to YS were annoying to her also because she said in episode 1 that she gives him the least worthwhile scenario first because she knows he will always reject the 1st one. Then anything else will be better. If that is indeed his way of working, his new directives spoil that. He must have overheard that discussion. Lol. It’s funny to go back and re-watch knowing that he can overhear.

I didn’t think it was so much that YS couldn’t recall the drunken car kiss so much as that she recalled it, but it was so unlikely that she didn’t trust her memory of it and blamed it on being drunk. –That she would actually be happy with him… it was too strange, too unbelievable given their work history, too different from any other vision she had about any other man.

Yes, ST’s dream at the film was definitely an omen. Lol. Those two. HW didn’t believe her honest words about a one week stand. I fell for her words in a different sense: I thought she had a premonition initially that she was dying or later that she was leaving the country/joining military stg like that. In RL, wouldn’t a Professor/Doctor at a training hospital go to his supervisor and discreetly say that there is a student in his group that he knew and that it could cause a conflict of interest if that continued?

Gosh, I’m jealous that you can copy text from BoD. When I try, it just tells me that the content is protected, which I understand.

  58. I was also thinking that HW and the AE (EJ?) could be good friends with their obsession about sex.

I thought that PY’s team already admitted that they leaked the photos? But it wasn’t malicious, as was the post that published them. To me, the main culprit was PY who took the photos after being told specifically not to take the covers off and take no photos. The people in the ad team say that it happens often but they look the other way. Neither MH nor YS put their foot down on the site. This part of the story made little sense to me. MH was standing away, and YS protested verbally but half-heartedly. All of this after signing documents about it? Not realistic imo.

  59. @GB Unnie,

I think that was the decisive moment that changed everything later on.
I think from that moment on Min Su started to realize that he is more interested in her. So far, it doesn’t follow the Webtoon, but we are going to see if something else will be revelead later on!

Also, about the inresponsible Team Manager, yes he is on Link and I think I have seen him somewhere else before as well. He is playing the baddie, most of the times. He is pretty good in what he does. I agree.

As for the perfume it is something I wanted to comment as well, but I didn’t because you haven’t posted your thoughts.

I think that Min Hu smelled Ye Sool’s pheremones. If we go back to biology and the earlier stages of humanity and If I do remember it correctly:

The female draws in the male by using not only her body, but pheremones. She basically “smells nice” in order to reproduce.

Hence Min Hu’s comment. She likes him even if she hasn’t realized it yet! Min Hu represents the strongest, smartest, etc of the males who are around her and her body started using the mechanics to lure him in.

  60. Episode 2

Adding my thoughts, along with the points by @GB Unnie!

After the kiss, MinSu had his senses into a hype. The fact that everything stopped for a minute, showed how Min Su perceived the kiss.
    The raindrops were in standstill.

Afterwards, he could hear a mumbling like a shout and he was hyper sensitive in touch, that’s why he didn’t want Ye Sool to touch him. He was not avoided her like a vermit as she said, he was not able to stand her touch at the moment.

It is also obvious that he was late to the meeting because he wanted to listen first, in order to come and save them. Baddie Team Manager didn’t take the blame, instead he said it was Hong Ye Sool’s mistake by her inexperience. He covered his ass and at the same time, he agitated the client.

When the two ladies were daydreamining about Min Su, YeSool in order to bring them back to reality, even called him a sociopath.

The fact that hurt him the most is not the remarks tha the was rude or didn’t know how to kiss. It was the fact YeSool thought so low about him. So, @Packmule3, on the other thread, is 100% right. Min Su was definitely hurt by her remark.
This was also implied when she entered his office and told her only to do that, without adding anything else. YS was perplexed by his attitude.

Even though, she had a point, at the same time she was exaggerating.
Ye Sool was rude. inappropriate and crossed a line. Min Su heard the whole conversation in real time. That’s why he was avoiding her for the whole day.

At the same time in Episode2, we – the audience – didn’t know, that he was taking care of her and had her back, not only in work but also when she broke up.

Hence my comment that is inappropriate. If you have someone, that takes good care of you, even though is your sunbae, you shouldn’t badmouth him, in front of others.

I also saw something we might have seen and noticed the first time watching the episode, but now that we know MS’s superpowers is too obvious for the viewers that he is hiding something as well.

There were scenes that implied that he could see and hear in an advanced way. Not only the moto gang, but when he heard OYJ before she entered his apartment with that soup. Also, before the incident in the pop-up. That scene was too obvious for us to notice. The camera focused on his eyes, ears for several seconds to miss that.

    That’s all for Episode 2.

  61. Episode 3

@GB Unnie, has already written some points. I will add what I found memorable myself from that episode.

The thing that peaked my interest is that Min Hu said three times to Ye Sool that she forgets about things.

The first time was after the blackout in the lobby with the summer rain.

MS: Did it ever occur to you that you’re the one who can’t seem to remember pretty much everything?

We saw in a flashback what she told him 2 years ago about the summer rain.

He was also with her 3 years ago when she broke up and drunk until oblivion.

I think this question is important, because in the webtoon, MS remembers her from their childhood years, and YS doesn’t.

I also found important that YeSool was thinking to herself that she wanted to reveal to Min Su about her ability and why she was so “weird”.
BTW, the word “weird” was used several times as a ping pong reference for both of them. It revealed a lot about how YeSool was confused by his attitude. While Min Su learned what she is thinking about him.

So far, we know that Min Su is the first one out of Ye Sool’s immediate circle of family, to learn about her ability. So, I take this not as a drunken urge, but a more deeper one. Ye Sool really trusts Min Su and she is at ease with him. I mean she even told him she craves rib eye steak, lol.

Let’s continue with how many times, Ye Sool repeated the line: “Would you believe me?” Yes it was three times as well. And Min Su replied he would believe her thrice. He used three different phrases in Korean to strengthen his answer. The english translation was “I will. I will believe you.”: in the street parlor. In the car: “I will”.

I really liked how the actress portrayed her cute drunken self. The part where Min Su said: “How are you going to face me tomorrow?” and especially her reaction “why?…”, made me laugh so much!

@GB Unnie, I agree with you when you said MS was waiting an opening for the kiss. His facial expression truly changed within some seconds, after her question “May I (doublecheck)?”

Lastly, Min Su was really worried about her, that’s he followed her after she left their ball. In the Episode 7’s preview it is revealed that MinSu was there when the Director – her ex boyfriend surprised her with the engangement ring in that corridor.

    That’s all for Episode 3.

  62. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

More Episode 3 Ad Hoc Thoughts
The concept of living it up or not losing out is mentioned by both Ho Woo and Ye Sool.

Ye Sool is at the bar, working while sipping alcohol through a straw. Bar owner comments on this and YS replies : “I want to drink and don’t want to waste my weekend but I have to work. I’m trying to do everything I want to do. What’s wrong with that?” – While on one hand it sounds like one wants to be efficient and to achieve all one’s goals… there’s an element of entitlement in the tone of it. I don’t actually fault YS here, who does not want to give up her weekend, however…

Taken another way, it is a fallacy that one should do everything one wants at the time one wishes without regard for anyone or anything else, simply because one wants it, the way that Ho Woo does. So taken a step too far, I’d find it wrong.

What’s wrong with what HW is doing with ST is that whenever he asks if she’s seriously just dating for a week, she redirects his attention to the next fun thing to do on her bucket list, instead of responding to his question. She is intent on fulfilling her bucket list, and just needs an easy-going partner who does not say ‘No’ to her.

Just because she will not get deeply emotionally involved, she assumes that the other party will be the same and fine with everything she suggests. It appears that HW dictated all their dating activities before heartlessly cutting ST when the week was up.

ST was totally bowled over by her and of course sucked into a heady, suddenly hot and heavy relationship. HW did not care to ensure that he really was on the same page with her, or wholeheartedly agreeable to a one-week stand/date and drop scenario. Her goal was to do everything that she wanted to do before her 1 week of freedom was up, while not caring what pain that would give to persons along the way.

    The ‘Enemies’ of YS
Our main protagonists have to struggle in order to grow and I suppose we’ll get conflict through these characters.

Episode 4 has put in place the setup for bratty OJY’s jealousy and future negative interactions with YS. She not only notices the lipstick of the colour that YS had bought for her, she even tests MH and finds that he does not refute the suggestion that YS had been in his apartment. She can be a force to be reckoned with, since she cannot get her way with MH.

We are also treated to a long scene with jealous Team Leader Jo Sun Hee who tries to bring Min Hee into her team, while digging for information that can hurt Planning Team 1 and Ye Seul in particular. JSH claims that she despises YS because she abandoned her when MH called her over. By Episode 6, YS is forced to go back to Team 2 under JSH. It will be interesting to see who gets the better of whom between JSH and YS.

Pil Yo would never consider himself YS’s enemy, but his clinginess, and his attitude of being entitled to test drive the car and take photos of it, against all protocol and the signed agreement, has him inadvertently hurting YS. Because of him, YS lost the chance to work on the one advertising campaign that she had most wanted to carry out, in memory of her father who’d done an ad for Mopix before. She also ends up in ‘enemy’ camp with Team 2.

Ironically, the one whom YS considered almost like an enemy, the most difficult person to deal with, ie her hard-to-please boss, is the one who supports her the most. He has been the one to put his concern for her health into action, when he drove her to the hospital or when he stops her from drinking Red Bomb. He has been looking out for her without making it obvious, and been on hand to give concrete help when she needed it.

He embodies the romantic trope of the cold, aloof guy with a heart of gold when it comes to his girl.

It’s only at the end of Episode 4, when YS assumes that he does not like to get involved with her that MH tells YS: “I never said I don’t like it.” He could have re-emphasised this and put it more positively to say that he does like it! LOL. So YS still has a hard time believing it, when MH offers her the chance to fulfill the prediction, on his one condition.

    @Fern, you said:

Gosh, I’m jealous that you can copy text from BoD. When I try, it just tells me that the content is protected, which I understand.

    – I do the copying not from the blog site but from the emails that I receive each time you post. I set the comments to notifiy me each time there are follow up comments or new posts, and they come to my email. I have to locate the right email to copy from for the blockquote.

Yes, it’s always an eye-opener to watch a few episodes and then go back to the beginning with awareness of new data. Then we can re-interpret the same scenes differently, possibly more accurately. Now that we know how acute MH’s hearing is, his reactions, actions and non-actions may become more understandable.

I, too, thought that HW was dying or something, when she repeatedly said her time was running out. It turns out that she had to enter med school full time.

HW and Eom Ji being sex crazy? LOL. I think HW was out to ‘use’ any willing man for sex, but once that wish on her bucket list could be crossed out, she might not be so sex mad anymore. 🙄

Yes the leaked photos was the usual OTT only-happens-in-dramas thing. But both the bad Team Leaders Jo and Yeom seemed to think that one of them had something to do with the leak as well.

@Cleo, that’s good and possible what you brought up about

After the kiss, MinSu had his senses into a hype. The fact that everything stopped for a minute, showed how Min Su perceived the kiss.
    The raindrops were in standstill.

    – I thought it was just a sign that for both of them time stood still or that the Sixth Sense had come into play, and not that it was MH alone who experienced something.

It’s true that after the kiss he became overly sensitive to all kinds of stimuli.

    It’s interesting what you say

It is also obvious that he was late to the meeting because he wanted to listen first, in order to come and save them.

    – This did not occur to me. I thought he was feeling too ill to come in but forced himself to attend the meeting with a ready solution.

As for waht you said under Episode 3, I agree that MH could be hinting to YS over and over that she’s forgotten some important things, like their childhood connection. If it’s in the manhwa, then it must be right.

YS has a bee in her bonnet about people not believing her. She does not even give them a chance to believe or disbelieve. As with PY, she chose to break up instead of trying to get him to understand her fears. Since she was so heartbroken herself, it was strange that she refused to at least try to disregard the prediction for as long as possible. At first I thought that she was not so invested in the relationship with PY, but according to HW, YS cried for many days/nights over that breakup.

Hence, PY’s return to try and get her back and wanting to know why she broke up with him makes sense. Even his clingy-ness, because he could not move on, and he had cared for her a lot even 5 years previously. I feel that what YS did was a mistake. I’m glad that she got drunk enough to tell MH the truth, and now has a chance to prove that she’s not crazy.

We wait for MH to trust YS enough to also tell her why he seems so ‘weird’!!! 😁

  65. I wonder if we’ll find out more about YS’s father who also worked on the earliest Mopix advertisements. I also wonder about the Noel Orphanage in the opening scene, episode 1. If YS’s mother is still alive, how does the Orphanage figure in the story?

@Growing Beautifully, it didn’t occur to me to copy from the emails. I thought I would get the same message somehow. Thank you for the tip.

  66. Hey @Fern,

My guess is that they (Min Hu & Ye Sool as kids) were living in the same area. So far, we know nothing about Min Hu’s parents. One hypothesis of mine is, that one of them in the past could be working in that orphanage. Hence they were playing around of it.

@GB Unnie, you haven’t seen Episode 7’s preview but OYJ will bring Min Su in a very difficult position by saying in front of YeSool if she is knows about his secret. I really dislike a person who doesn’t know how to be friends to another and respect him and his secrets. While at the same time, she speak nonsense when it is not even her place to reveal MS’s secret.

I will answer to your other comments tomorrow. It is kinda late over here…

  67. Kalimera ladies!

    @GB Unnie,

I agree with you about HoWoo. She is so focused to do her bucket list that she hurt deeply ST. ST is a good person, he took good care of her and got hurt tremendously by her immature and compulsive behavior.

I think that in the next episodes, he will be hard on her. Don’t forget he is a Professor or Assistant Professor and she is a resident.

Technically, her case is you reap what you sow.

  68. This is my opinion only: I’ve just watched the most recent two episodes. No spoilers, just bile.

I’m getting fed up with all of the waffling, miscommunication and defensive stances: too melodramatic now. Everything is annoying me. Maybe it’s my hormones, but I want to slap some sense into all of the leads. Also there are too many scenes cut and pasted in repetition unnecessarily, even from moments before, so I want to slap the director too; he thinks we can’t remember what we just saw. I liked the ML earlier, but his voice is so monotonous compared to the actors he share scenes with. It could be the director’s wish, but I’m losing sympathy. I should go to bed and scream into my pillow, sleep and hopefully wake up with a better attitude.

  69. I just started ep. 1 and I am loving this cos it reminds me so much of my office environment🤣🤣🤣 So both of them have an extra senses, yeah? He can listen and read from afar, Superman? 😂 and she can see the future. Superman meets Wanda the Red Witch.🤭🤭🤭

Gonna play catch up this weekend.. see you all in the latest thread!

P/S: Seo Ji Hye is as elegantly beautiful as always! She always got to wear those pretty clothes and rock them. And she will be acting alongside Jisung in a new drama, Adamas! Yeay!😁

  70. Yes, @Miracle23.

Both of them have extra senses but he has an advantage: he knows of her power while she’s still clueless about his.
