Please please please make this a fun drama.
This is another one of those webtoons re-written for tv.
I used to look down on these webtoons-turned-kdrama because:
a) the narratives are unpolished, inconsistent, and plot-twisty. Remember, the webtoon writers are required to keep their weekly ratings up. To get their audience coming back for more, they throw plot twists, red herrings, character reversals, and all sorts of monkey wrenches into the story. The popularity of the webtoon determines not only the lifespan of the comics but also income of the creator.
b) the characterization was often inconsistent because the webtoon writers change the story to please their audience,
c) the finales frequently lack a solid resolution. Check out the recent “Yumi’s Cells” and “Today’s Webtoon.”
d) their original creators’ worldview can be rather jejune and misguided.
However, I do like that we’re getting diverse and unique contents from these webtoons. I think when the original webtoon gets tweaked or reworked on by the tv network’s seasoned in-house writers, the finished product comes out better.
I also like that mainstream screenwriters are forced to improve their craft and pay attention to feedback from their viewers. These “proven” screenwriters now have competition to kick their butts.

I’m bombarded by dramas and parties this month that it’s hard to focus on Advent. I hope I don’t forget it’s the feast day of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday.
@packmule3,Agree but as long as they don’t go full HPL 1 and 2 on us(even if they weren’t derived from a Webtoon).
Also, off topic, but a little tangential,I just read that the netizens do not like the loveline between Song Joon Ki and SHB in their new drama
They say it’s irrelevant. Probably there’s no chemistry there and the fan girls are looking to protect the ML.However it has not affected the ratings…
Ah yes, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. I should make a point of going for Mass on the feast days of our Blessed Mother. I tend to just go on my usual weekday without taking note of the special days. @Old American Lady, i’m only watching Reborn Rich through instagram video uploads. all can i say is their supposed to be heart-fluttering scenes are lacking. it’s like an ordinary interaction between two people, nothing more. even the music score and the setting of their scenes doesn’t put me in a romantic mood. not sure though if the writer is slowly building up the romance aspect, so i can’t safely say that we can watch it as a whole. i will still continue to lurk on instagram until the drama finishes.

I only managed to watch 11 minutes of Unlock My Boss and it looks hopeful!
I like how the opening credits is an aerial view of the land around and includes a superimposed swiped passcode on a cellphone and the number 1 (for Ep 1) that appears is the same shape as the lane below. They bothered how they rotated the camera to get that matching shape.
I thought it was cute that the boss was dictating a whole bunch of instructions but it was the AI in the smartphone that took notes, not the secretary, and that the human secretary was so much more like a robot.
I’ll watch the rest tomorrow. 🙂

I managed to watch the first 16 minutes last night… mostly because I was tired and then went to sleep! I think I will watch it when “May I Help You?” ends!
Hi @Cleo, I liked Episode 1. The set up for the rest of the series is done quite thoroughly, and since we know the synopsis of the plot and premise, we find that a lot of things ‘make sense’, except that we will probably have to come to our own conclusion about how the line between VR and a real person can disappear.
@Cleopatra, I woke up in the middle if the night and took a dip into this drama. I’m hooked. I’m a big fan of Park Soong-wung to begin with, but I think this drama will be clever. They’ve done a nice job setting up the leads and they hit you in the gu5 by having a great Mom figure for the young ML and a cute little daughter for the older ML. The FL is also smart. We have good villains too. I also like the send up of Virtual reality and apps like Alexa. The kid likes to have her Dad read to her rather than VR. There’s nothing like having a parent to read to a kid. If we have a discussion here, I’m in.
