  1. Thanks @packmule3 🍪🍪🍪

  2. Ep9

Hmm…the restaurant owner lady’s argument saved YR by yelling at her son. And we were right, he has the mental age of a 5yo. According to her, her son had a crush on SunAh (DB’s sister). She claims he saw how SunAh was killed and was trying to scare YR off to prevent her from suffering the same fate? And she pleaded with YR not to tell anyone about him because she was afraid that he would be sent away to a facility if anyone found out that he had attacked her? The attack was pretty brutal. And the son says to YR as he clasps his hand over her mouth, “if you’re hurt, you die. Dying will hurt.” 🤔. Did he do this with SunAh? And unintentionally killed her? I don’t like this line of thought (that he killed SunAh and not DB’s dad) because it would mean DB wrongly accused his father and would have to live with that guilt?

DB gets his professor off from plagiarism of someone else’s paper. We find out that he agreed to let his professor leave his name out of the publication in exchange for money (which he probably used to pay for Bom’s surgery).

YR starts to teach Halmoni how to read and write. And YR tells Halmoni about the attack. She is torn about telling Mr Bae (I guess that’s the landlord? SungMin’s dad?) about it and the repercussions. Halmoni tells her to follow her heart. On her way home she bumps into the police officer who is checking on the footage from the CCTV outside the billiard hall and asks about GH. YR lies and says GH came over to play with the dog.

I am a bit confused about Bom’s friend DaeHo who just got out from jail? Do they share the same mother? 🤔

JY is…😑🙄. I have no words.

    YR gets drunk…again…😑🙄

Loved the late night texting and talking on the phone.

Didn’t like how Bom stood JaeHoon up because her old friend (flame?) DaeHo.

Loved how JaeHoon responded to being stood up. “Be careful Bom” was all her said. There’s trust there. And he respected her decision to choose.

Loved the “firsts” for DB when it comes to YR. First phone. First late night texting. First date probably? First movie.

Disliked immensely…how the ep ended. 🤦‍♀️ Did GeumHo do something to Halmoni? He’s seen running out of the billiard hall frantically. Halmoni had cooked something for YR last we saw her. And Bom came home to an empty house with no lights on. Even if they were going to hint at that it just seemed a VERY abrupt way to end it.

Onto Ep10 to see what happened.

Thanks @nrllee. I don’t mind spoilers and did a quick skim of your comments. It seems I’ve to wait to get any new episodes at all. I don’t even see the raw ones about.

From the Ep 8 previews we know that YR got away from the rooftop cliffhanger. Now it sounds like I need to have both Ep 9 and 10 up at the same time to assuage my insane curiosity!

  4. Ep10

Halmoni is dead. GeunHo seen running away from the scene. With YR’s testimony, he’s the main suspect.

JY withholds this information from DB. DB is so engrossed in his work that he’s not eating or sleeping. We find out that Professor has been behind it all along. Luring him back to get him to finish the paper. Thanks a lot JY 😑. She finally reveals everything to DB who runs to return to Angok, including the fact that YR has decided to leave because of the guilt she feels.

Loved how realistic Bom is. She needs someone to blame. She acknowledges that her anger and resentment towards YR is irrational but she can’t get a handle on it so she tells YR to give her time.

Loved how JaeHoon didn’t fly into a jealous rage over Bom’s friend DH.

I am not entirely sure GH is Halmoni’s murderer. Why am I suspicious of Bom’s friend? The one who just came out of jail? I am even suspicious of the police officer. 😂😂. Maybe it is the police officer. And that’s why GH is so afraid of policemen. But why would he kill Halmoni? I am honestly not very hopeful that everything will be explained well. We only have 2 more eps. So I think we’ll just have to accept what’s given to us.

YR wishes she never came to Angok now. So where does that leave us with her “doing nothing” experiment? 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️. Good idea? Or bad idea? I am in 2 minds. I find her character somewhat inconsistent. On the one hand, she’s ruing the day she decided to come to Angok and seems unsure of everything (guess DB’s words to her on that holiday trip didn’t stick), on the other she seems to be able to dish out sage advice to JaeHoon who is fearful of Bom forgetting him because she says she will remember him and greet him warmly when she next sees him? Still can’t get over her stupidity when it comes to drink. I thought she would’ve learnt her lesson…guess not. 🤦‍♀️

@nrllee, I skimmed what you wrote and once again I ask… is is another case of a show going totally dark on us? No bright or cute moments? Didn’t I sign up for a show to watch how people who thought they could do nothing much, instead manage to find themselves by doing some worthwhile things? So the original ‘thriller’ label was not entirely out of place? What genre is this? Unsolved mystery-slice of life-murder-romance?

  6. So far my takeaway from this drama is that the writing hasn’t been even. I can’t for the life of me work out what the writer is trying to tell us the audience. Is this a thriller? Or is this a feel good drama? Because there are gory bits (the deaths) that don’t quite seem to fit well with the overall vibe of the show? It just feels off kilter. I feel like I am just drifting (maybe that’s what it’s like to “do nothing”) along. I get moments when the heroine seems to be getting somewhere but then we get gore again and we’re left somewhat bewildered (because there was seriously NO buildup). I am left someone bewildered? 😂😂😂. Link – Eat, Love, Kill was very good with the balance but then again, that was black comedy done well. I am scratching my head as to what to make of this drama.

  8. @GB I am not sure 😂😂😂. If it’s a thriller, it’s not very “thrilling”. Halmoni’s death came out of nowhere. I am open to your thoughts.

@nrllee First, I’ll have to find a subbed episode!!!

  10. Gosh I have to catch up today. Too many good shows!

  11. No rush @Fern @GB. Just watch it when you find time. Not sure if I will have time next week because it’s Christmas weekend. Yikes that’s crept up on me and I am frantically trying to see if I have forgotten anything…
