@kate, i get that feels too about this show reminds me of “Descendants” so much. Altho DOTS was more exotic because locs was outside of SK.
I feel sad for MK that she’s been left by XK twice out in the rain now. eeks.
Hi, @HK_Lady, yes, there are some similarities to DOTS. I always wondered where that was filmed – I think Greece or Turkey perhaps? Another good show, although the ML is much more cheeky in DOTS.

I keep noticing them as we do the run through.
I am a big DOTS fan – love it! It’s on my regular re-watch list. Although the banter was fantastic the central couple don’t seem to develop the same degree of normal relationship as our YAMH central couple and despite the chemistry and fireworks of DOTS, YAMH offers something deeper possibly?
What do you both think?
The novella on which YAMH is based was published, apparently, before DOTS came out. So although people think YAMH is a Chinese adaptation it may be the other way round or there may simply be the influences.
You get those iconic shots when the swat team are walking forward in their uniforms which evoke the iconic DOTS scene which evoke Top Gun etc etc
I think DOTS has the edge on YAMH for sheer swagger… and the ML evokes Tom Cruise more than our Chinese ML who is a different character.
and… in the meantime YAMH has the edge for tenderness and a natural growth of relationship between the ML and the FL and indeed for tenderness in general —
Yes, @Kate, more personal swagger in DOTS, definitely. The ML is a very different character in each, even if the storyline has some things in common.
