Thank you @pkml3. You are far in advance in anticipating and providing for our needed threads. I had muffin, croissant (for the young folks), oranges and bananas at home. 🙂

I’m still watching the many couple relationships that Bora! Deborah is throwing up for us to ‘think about’. It is a show that tries to psychoanalyse people and relationships, which is interesting, but I take it with a pinch of salt,… since I do not know if this is just armchair psychology and what they say with such aplomb is really the case or not. Generally I feel we all do that kind of analysing to figure out what’s going on with the other persons… but we might be wrong.

  2. You’re welcome, @GB.

re. Bora! Deborah…I again did a sneak peek at Ep 11, and I get what you mean. I’ll continue the conversation there.

  3. Hi, @pm3, thanks for the quick thread.

@GB, of course you could spend time to read CG Jung books about psyché. But it’s an endless work. 🙂 The drama looks nice, but no time.

I ended ep34. pwheee. Dig deep in human feeling, dozen of writing and rewriting. Not even sure I made that right, but anyway, the best way I could, so no regrets. And now I have some editing to polish that and maybe remove some lines (depending of ep35, 36).
A bit more time mix, SSJ style, with events not told in chronological order by in “I HOOK YOU” order. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Ep34 is the most frustrating episode (on purpose) with 3 questions you are dying to have the answer. (writer sadism) gnyek gnyek gnyek.

  4. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Trust you to announce and parade your sadism @WE. No I have no intention of reading Jung. Yes, just do your best and be satisfied for now. You can always edit again later *diabolical laugh*

    See you tomorrow!

  5. @GB, 😘, see you 2-more-her.
(basic wordplay for any english speaker I guess, but for me, it’s an exploit!)

  6. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE The way we pronounce the word here is more like ‘too-more-ro’

Your ‘exploit’, is it in French ‘l’ exploit’ or ‘la prouesse’ meaning a feat = a daring/difficult task to accomplish?

  7. Huu.. hu…. Huuu… yes? la prouesse. 🙂

  8. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I’m around! 9 minutes to go!!

  9. Around here too, 6 minutes.

  10. Me too.

  11. Hi GB and Feifei.

  12. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @FF and @WE, 1 Minute to go!

  13. Hi WE, we start.

  14. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Yes! Let’s go!… the resume or the synopsis once again.

  15. Y. Launched.

  16. I like that they recap the game rules, jog my memory abit. I find Nao prettier in Season 2 though.

  17. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, I think Nao’s hairstyle is a bit more flattering this time.

The music and format is so hectic. Stresses me out LOL.

  18. Recap was useful, one week later. 😉

the NOA trap is::: LG group win!

  19. ahahah… Nao is just late. They had a plan in the plan in the plan. 🙂

  20. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

In the Liar Game, in every area there can be a lie. Lies to get them to join the game, and lies of things unsaid in the rules, lies within teams, lies across teams…

  21. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, The thing is where or when did AS and Fukunaga discuss a plan within a plan? It was as if they automatically knew what to do without discussing it.

  22. More Fukunaga clowneries. ahah.

  23. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Fukunaga continually uses theatrics to undermine the other party’s confidence. So much shouting and drama over a few chips.

  24. Weird, credits cut in two, after Noa “weeeee?”

  25. Nao called “time” and stop Fukunaga’s victory celebrations.

  26. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Yeah, why did the credits appear twice?

Nao was so determined to stop them from ruining the other party.

  27. Besides lies, the game also involves lots of mind games.

  28. Once again, Nao is here to put us in her shoes, so we get explanations about twists we don’t understand and can’t anticipate. No needs to say Nao is stupid and naive… in real, it’s us, lol!

  29. They hit the dumb guy, but is it a hoax?
Anyway, Nao go to see him. Sensible piano music.
I smell a trap, they use Nao kindness.

  30. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF Yes, lot’s of psychology goes into manipulation. The other group has the Psychology Professor girl who will be a formidable opponent.

Surprisingly even Nao has picked up how to play the game.

Poor Nishida is pushed? Nao does the most humane thing. She shows care when the others consider Nishida only as a pawn in the game.

  31. You know Nao, your strategy, I’ll never use it…

But… OOOOOH, she manipulates him now?
    GOSH….!!

  32. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Nao works on Fukunaga’s greed and desire to not appear stupid as if he did not know that he’d win. She lies to get him to do what she wants. She also uses psychology. She also knows that based on the past, he trusts her.

If they shoot themselves twice it will be a draw.
Nao: “But what we should be doing now is prevent the agency from taking more money.”
She says that she and AS would win their rounds with such assurance but she actually has none.
Nao : “Then we’ll save the Kingdom of Moon and move on to the next stage.” LOL Fukunaga’s incredulous look. He cannot believe his ears. AS just keeps mum LOL.

“Save them?” Fukunaga can’t believe it…he says it as if the words are foreign to him.
“Yes, we’ll pay off the debts of the Kingdom of Moon with the money we win.”
In other words, while they appear to be playing the game, they are not playing the Agency’s game. They are taking control of how the money is distributed.

    Fukunaga almost faints LOL.

  33. @GB, Nao has grown smarter in Season 2.

  34. Mushroom don’t want to save them, but for more money. yeh yeh.

  35. I ask a pause, big GB comment to read!!
    🙂

  36. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    PAUSE PLAY

@WE my computer is slower today… but nevermind that.

Now she lies : “What a waste. There’s an amazing way for you to make a huge profit if the game is a tie.
    AS remains resolutely silent.
Fukunaga wants to know the strategy to get the profit
She bluffs…”You mean you don’t know?”
F : “You know, I have a vague idea – ” (he does not want to be thought a fool by someone like Nao.)
KN : “The strategy is guaranteed to make you a killing.”

The time is up so KN does not need to come up with the explanation for how he would make a profit.
AS looks calm and aloof as usual. He is not easily rattled.
F asks if he knows the strategy.
AS : “We’re after more than just pocket change. That’s all.” (He does not answer the question and he is speaking the truth because he’s really after the Agency.)
    Fukunaga still looks totally uncertain.

  37. @GB, did you say Nao lies now? She supposed to be honest and cannot bring herself to tell lies. Noooooo

  38. Feifei… Nao can lie, we saw that in season 1, when she apply AK trick for winning the card game.
    ahaha.

  39. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, that’s the thing the Liar Game brings out… under what conditions will an honest person lie? Nao will do so in order to bring about a greater good… a good for the majority or for all.

  40. But yeah, the way she does it like “hey, it’s an obvious plan to get more money”… and Mushroom like “what, why I don’t know that plan, I’m smarter than her”.

  41. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, Yes, in Season 1 Nao also lied.

So not so stupid and not so honest LOL.

  42. I’m ready to go.

  43. @WE, yes she did lie in Season 1 too…. sobz

  44. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    OK PLAY/GO

    My system slow today…

  45. Nao admitted that she lied to Fukunaga. haha

  46. You need to clean the fans. (ventilator)

  47. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Loved Fukunaga’s expression as he geared up to lose by killing himself.

Resentfully he throws the chips on the table.

F : “If I passed, you couldn’t have been saved. I shot myself on purpose so that you three could be saved.”
N : “To save us? What do you mean?”
F shouts : “How the hell should I know?” LOLOL

N : “Was it the girl?”
F : “Yes. Ask her for the details. Our general.”
KN is the general. She had assured Nishida that they would be saved.
Nishida is so moved he cries.

I guess this is the prelude to the opponents slowly trusting Nao and her team.

  48. I like the fact Nao is the captain. Not competent as gamer, but the leader of the moral values. The “why” they do that.

  49. Ahaha, she say Fukunaga she lied, then make a cute Aegyo.

  50. Lot of “woo” foreshadowing about “this place”… the garden of eden. Final movie. ^^

And now… My favorite game of season 2. 🙂

  51. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I think Fukunaga never expected that she’d ever lie!

Fukunaga went in to win, AS went in to destroy the Agency, Nao went in to save everyone. All for different reasons but they have to work together.
Eri does not think that they’ll even reach the Garden of Eden so the agency should be safe. Hah!

  52. Nao always do the “test” games. ^^

  53. A short cut to the villain, everybody scared by this girl. aaahhh so easy. But it always work.

  54. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I had to rewatch the poker to remember the shuffle ‘magic’.

  55. I find Nao funny when she says she is good at poker ….. maybe because she is unpredictable unlike the usual players.

  56. Fictive Nao decisions with game master voice-over. great.

  57. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

NAo usually has to make the mistakes and the others observe to find the loopholes.

  58. Nao unable to notice so obvious bluff. lol.
    Silly smile “I win”.

  59. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Nao is the worst poker player ever, she does not even know how to keep a poker face LOL.

    The explanation is good.

  60. Chance distributions are radicaly different, compared to normal poker.

  61. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Kikuchi has an unexpected advantage but still not good enough to beat AS.

  62. Hoppefully, she’s not the player here, it would be a disaster.

    Eri show a folder… we don’t see.
but “wooo” effect.. oh shit, no one can win vs this guy, Akyama is dead. ahhaah. So easy. But always work. 😉

  63. Some manga special effects on kikuchi, like “this guy is scary and have an absolute strategy”.. lol, it’s just the beginning, this end of episode is all about that, to produce the “woo” effect of super-opponent with hidden skill.

  64. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE In 17 Poker, the one who controls the Joker will find it hard to lose.

  65. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Somehow Nao and even Fukunaga are made to behave like kids. All the premature excitement, jumping around etc. AS is always the sober adult.

  66. Ahhh this shot: close up on kikuchi face.
No smile, just a great feeling.
    aaah
But AK feels something wrong already

No make us believe he cries but of course laughs like a madman

  67. AS is the professional con-artist, I guess con artist are usually level headed. I wonder what is Kikuchi’s perfect strategy.

  68. ahahahaha so easy
    close the folder
eri: “now AK has no chance to win”..
we go to the final revelation with the maximum “Woo”.

  69. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

There’s always that repeated looking like crying but actually is laughing in both seasons. The great deception. Even laughter and tears which should be natural signs of emotion, are lies.

  70. JOKER TO THE LEFT!!!
Titanic effect! save women and children first!!
JAW UNLOCKED to the ground. 🙂 🙂 🙂

  71. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

LOL Jaw dropped? I didn’t really notice it.

So we’ve come to the end again so soon. I had to watch Ep 3 to find out the strategy LOL.

  72. This episode ends so abruptly. I might pursue episode 3 to find the perfect stratey.

  73. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Kikuchi trained his kinetic vision when he was a professional boxer. He claims to be able to see where the Joker goes even during the shuffling – total nonsense in real life, I think… how to see one card in a stack!

  74. @GB, I speak about audience jaw, not them. ^^

  75. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE LOL we are the audience, no?

  76. I love how all these scenes produce step by step the maximum dramatic effect for the cliffhanger.

  77. GB, look better at me. Can you see my jaw? No of course, because now it’s on the ground. 🙂

  78. If Kikuchi can see 1 card in the stack he maybe able to more than 1 card which is quite unimaginable.

  79. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, scrape jaw off ground, have a drink.

    I’m drinking makgeolli today.

  80. @WE, you are funny. Shall I fixed your jaw back for you?

  81. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

LOL while we pick up our jaws and other pieces, thanks for the fun watch.

    See you next week!

  82. Ciao, till next week.

  83. Bye, see you next week!
