I was thinking about the image of Kanzaki Nao as angel (childlike, soft, vulnerable and others centred) … in which case the demon is Katsuragi Ryo who’s dressed strangely in a top hat (I can never fathom the reason for some dressing).
I looked up what wearing a top hat might mean… something to do with being non-conformist, having power, perhaps, and even a stab at being masculine.
As the opposite of Nao, and even in the way she carries herself with that unnecessary walking stick, then, she’d be the rigid, hard-as-nails, invincible opponent, with utter disdain for others.
It’s fortunate that Akiyama is there to show that she’s not the only one who can exude confidence, and with good reason.
Ryo looks like a character from an episode of “The Avengers”. SO the top hat.
No idea what it means about japanese meaning. Maybe a brain so big that you need to hide it with a big hat? Anyway, she has a brain but no heart.
Hi @WE, I mentioned before that Ryo’s smile is creepy. She has this pause for consideration and then she smiles with such deliberation. Sometimes it feels as if her eyes light up only a second later. In most of her moves and expressions she’s making use of her knowledge of psychology to manipulate other people.
I guess her aim is to defeat AS again, through manipulating/using Nao.

I’m thinking that the hat of Ryo’s is more a bowler hat than a top hat. The cartoon drawing of her shows a top hat but the real hat looks like a rounder and definitely shorter hat like a bowler.

Quick answer: Ryo doesn’t want to beat AK again. As I remember she’s here for revenge because he beat her in the past for something just trivial. Should be a copy in classroom, and he got the best notation. Silly. ^^
The hat is maybe just a way to look “bigger”, give her importance. She has a stick too. Very sherlock holmes feeling. ^^

Resume was helpful. Shame on me. I rewatched that x12 in the past. But a long time ago now. I can’t remember from one week to the other so many points.
SO MUSHROOM is a demon.
Whenever Katsuragi has this small smile, a slight curve at her lips, she is trying to manipulate the players using their weakness. Never trust her when she smiles mildly.
@WE, I never know to what extent Fuku is truthful or lying. He seems likely to flip-flop now and then.
@GB .. Yeah yeah, it’s what is fun, it’s just for a small and petty thing. It says how much she’s crazy, just to not be the best one time is more than she can’t stand. ahahahahah.
Her strategy is good here. She accept demons. WIth a pressure tactic: the first one coming get priority.. ahahah, nasty.
@FF I find all her smiles creepy. So much malice behind what looks sweet.

@GB although Katsuragi smiles but her eyes are always evil looking. They have this zoning out feel, unfocused, looking upwards and showing whites at the bottom.
I like all the different logic of how the different scenarios will work out. So well thought out… the writer(s) were very good with the twists.
It’s like a western duel, but with complicated brainy stuff, lol!
Akiyama’s strategy is convincing too. They just need to trust one another to join hands and win.

Yes AS is very convincing, it’s the same as what Nao says. They have to trust and cooperate. But Ryo totally does not believe in that and acts accordingly.
In the face of all this, it’s always amazing that Nao never gives up trusting.
@WE, it certainly takes someone with a great brain for creating problems and solutions in different scenarios. Extremely good ideas!

I sort of guessed that AS was just making up all this stuff about the circuit and signal from the watch. LOL the LG dealer with the feathers (crow girl) tries to look it up.
The players are so gullible as long as someone who appeared confident says something they wiil believe it.

@FF That’s the way all scams work. People are more predisposed to believe so they can be taken in. There are so many scams going on in the world.
No need to tell the truth, just being enough confident so anything you say look like the truth. Honestly, the only time in life I can use that is when I really say the truth. LOL. And with difficulty! I’m not enough good at lying.
@WE, Gold tooth and Eri are interesting. Eri knows the truth but she won’t tell Gold tooth.
@FF, it’s important to say something fake with great confidence and a straight face. Nao does not have the poker face so she can only help out where she can be genuine, but she can still lie LOL.
Katsuragi is good, she knows Fukunaga will betray Nao and AK while Nao is too naive and she exploits that weakness.
@WE, I also find lying so difficult, the easier route is to tell the truth even if I get into trouble.
Outright lying is difficult, lying by omission is easier.
@FF Ryo is a manipulator. She’s also going for the weakest character and the one whose loss will break AS the most. Just like how his mother was scammed into dying, AS will do everything he can to keep a manipulated, weak person from being ‘killed’.
The cut bad girl have instinct, and think the one who will win it the most frigthening… Katsuragi. 🙂
Nao is making things difficult for AK again but going with her emotions and not following instructions from AK to save Fukunaga at the last minute. AK is actually very patient with Nao.
Ryo chooses her timing to say that AS is lying. She could have brought it up before but chooses this time. It’s supposed to have a greater impact.
@GB I forgot about AK’s a soft spot for weak people who ended up dying. Now I am reminded.
@FF, AS reminds me of the Christian God who patiently finds another solution because people refuse to follow His plan. LOL.
The thing is even if AS is working together with Nao and Fuku, they worked to do good and not to create losers.

Choosing between the 2 groups which to join is very interesting. We see that unexpectedly, Nao has more influence than even she is aware of.
Fukunaga’s policy as long as he wins its all ok. And he showed a cross eye, he double cross them.
I don’t remember for sure… but I feel a big bretrayal from Mushroom. He will take the head of Ryo. 🙂

Ryo really hate Nao. She can’t stand someone who (for her) “pretends” to be selfish. Full opposites.
A twist to the plot, one guy did not join Katsuragi team. I hope it is not a double twist.

@WE, Ryo cannot bear that Nao is even a little bit right. She will delight in repeatedly pointing out to her how people are base. They may only work for money or act out of fear.

@GB the most interesting guy is Fukunaga, he is flamboyant, he wears loud clothes, he taunts the losers, he gives over the top reactions and sometimes funny reactions.
