    Thanks @pkml3. I’ll be back!

  2. Thank uou @Packmule3!

    Episode 7: the plot thickens!

At one hand we have the romance between the two couples and on the other hand we have the murder investigation.

Someone from the MI Group is the culprit. Except from the father, the uncle is suspicious too, because of how he reacted after he saw SeoHa’s phone. We also learned that there is an Aunt and her family who look Seoha down.

So, what did those in his family expect from SeoHa? Someone to survive from a fatal encounter, where two other people lost their lives and SH was the sole survivor to be happy? Especially when they didn’t do anything to make him feel happy to see them? I saw aloof people who are so full of themselves and tried to take him down from the moment they met.

If they cared about SeoHa wouldn’t make him uncomfortable in the first place. I am glad that SeoHa has Do Hyun, Cho Won and Ji Eum.

It was a surprise that MinGi is actually an Archaelogist. He had lived while remembering his past 22 lives and he is currently living his 23. HanNa is actually SeoHa’s mother, ahjumma JE called her. I am glad she has a group of people that she can talk to.

As for the past aka JE’s FIRST LIFE.
Ji Eum remembered that in her first live, SeoHa was there. I was pretty sure when I saw the sequence with the field, that Ji Eum would remember something. It could be the place that brought her the memory, except of SeoHa himself. In that place something took place a thousand years ago in her first life.

Let us see how that will go. I am still waiting for the answer about WHY those people who are learning about the past are in danger…

  3. Dear Cleo, Kalinichta from my side of the world!!! 😀 .

That line a couple of episodes back where Ji Eum explained that sometimes a former enemy gets reincarnated as family made me think that perharps Ji Eum’s father is the material author of the crime that claimed Jo Won’s life.

About the bad families both leads have, and particularly the insensitive ones: there are people in this world that feels that everything that happens to them is magic or tragic, remarkable and poetic… everyone elses is just a tale.

Still have to finish the episode 😉

    EPISODE 7
Hi @Cleo and @FGB, I’m no longer getting email notifications on BOD and didn’t know anyone had commented. 😞

I’m glad to see that the couples are progressing somewhat. I’m actually more interested in Do Hyun and Cho Won as a couple. I want to see what brings him around. I like that he was truthful when he told her very simply that “Yes.” He liked her. No if or buts. He did like her but would not date her. Poor Cho Won.

He is in a very tough position. SH’s father (Dad Mun) took care of him in return for his loyalty and his work to spy on SH for Dad Mun. He’s forced to follow orders or be considered disloyal to his benefactor. So he was put into the same school as SH in order to keep an eye on him and report to the Mun about him. It looks like he is naturally honest, so it must be very hard to have to work for both SH and Mun.

It’s interesting that Min Ki and Ha Na can know that JE also remembers her previous lives. What gives them this ability to know? Since Ha Na is actually SH’s mother in the previous life, then it must mean even at that time, she also knew about her past lives.

The other thing is that since Ha Na has reincarnated so soon that she’s a young adult at the same time as her previous’ live’s family, it means that her death too was murder? So she did not die of illness but might have been poisoned slowly.

The ones who seem to benefit from this are Jang Yeon Ok. I wonder why she is good friends with Lee Hae Young, who seems to also be part of the Lee family ie related to Lee Sang A (SH’s mother). He’s supposed to be the uncle on the mother’s side? SH seems to like him and trust him but he is not trustworthy. I agree with @Cleo.

@Cleo, yes the other suspicious party are the Mun side of the family, Uncle Mun and his wife. They (and their son?) are so obnoxious. They want to insinuate and provoke SH, so he took off his hearing aid in order to ignore them.

@Cleo I’m troubled by the memory of Seo Ha being in JE’s first life. For one thing, JE, Jung Won, Samchoom etc all were very different people. Male, female, different ethnicity, etc but why is it that Seo Ha is totally recognisable in the past and in the current time? Same face, same ethnicity.

What’s more, he was carrying a blood-covered sword. Was he in a war of some kind? I wonder who was carrying the shaman bells. Maybe it was JE herself who was the shaman then?

When she had the vision while holding Min Ki’s shaman bells, she seemed to remember being shot by an arrow. She also saw the man in blue who carried the bloody sword… ie Seo Ha walking away. She seemed to see herself in ancient clothes hanging out dyed cloth to dry. Then a scene of what might have been JE on the ground with her throat cut and the sword dripping blood?

If she didn’t die at the time the arrow pierced her, then might she have been killed by Seo Ha in her first life?

  5. I think that all of the 18 lives of JE were cut short. Something must have happened in her first life to cause that.

Episode 7 was a game changer. Finally we have some important reveal to move the plot forward.

  6. Kalispera Everyone!

    Episode 8

Many things came into light in this episode. I have read that on MDL there are lots of changes from the Webtoon’s material.

I had a hunch that the show will go at the place. So, we learned that Ji Eum’s dad was the truck’s driver. While it the Webtoon, he was not. Also, Ha Do Hyun’s father was not driving them that dreadful day. He died on another incident.

The other big change was that Seoha and MinGi were not in her first life. MinGi was in her second life. Seoha was not anywhere near her first lives. Since, I haven’t read the Webtoon I am just waiting for how this all will be unfold.

Anyway, I was so sad for Seoha today.
It is not easy for someone to survive such a fatal accident. And ever since to live in guilt for surviving and being alive, while others didn’t.

We can only imagine how his anxiety and anger levels spiked after a few days where he witnessed someone’s else’s killing, then to discover that Ji Eum’s father was the truck driver and in the end, his favorite Samcheon / Uncle was the mastermind behind the accident. (Btw, the Uncle was also the culprit in the Webtoon.)

How can you survive something like this?

We could say that it is his Karma. If he killed someone a thousand years ago, then maybe he suffers the consequences. But that is so easy to say when you are looking from outside…

I am enjoying this show. It has a depth about Life and how some choices can affect other people. It also give us intel on how some people are destined to meet each other just because they share a connection in a past life. I like it and I haven’t read the Webtoon. Let us see how they will end this story. I am curious to see how everything started…

    P. S. @FGB, I will answer to you later on!

  7. P.S.2 Unnie I will answer to you too!

  8. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @Cleo, I didn’t get email notifications yet, so didn’t know you’ve responded. I will watch Ep 8 in about 3 or 4 hours time, maybe. I hope you can tell that I’ve responded to you. Are you getting BOD email notifications? Anyway @pkml3 is going to look into this later. See you!

  9. Kalimera Unnie,

I get email notifications, but I couldn’t answer right away! I do hope you have watched the episode!

Regarding your questions, I guess they were all Korean in their first life. If you read my previous post, there are changes from the original material. I guess in the reincarnation cycle at some point you get the face and form you had at some point? I mean we saw the same thing happening in the Bulgasal universe.

From what I gathered from Ji Eum’s vision. MinGi was there too. Ji Eum and SeoHa were lovers, but he might have killed her sister. We don’t know why. I guess we will learn…

  10. @FGB,

Well, you were right. Although in the webtoon, that was not that the case.
Still, they made their circumstances in the drama more sad.

I will be waiting for your thoughts!

  11. Hello all – very interesting observations by everyone 🙂

@Cleo: I like the depth of emotions about life conveyed in this drama too – it is not a light, fluffy drama like King The Land. I had started watching both together, and I find myself more eager to know what’s next in this drama than KTL. Maybe because we just have 4 more episodes left (as this is not a full length drama) that the reveals have slowly started becoming more exciting.
    …………………..

    @GB
I was wondering the same thing about Seo Ha’s mother. Was she murdered as well? Did she always remember her past lives, just like Ji Eum and Min Gi? I also remember a conversation between her and Min Gi where they discuss how getting in touch with someone from past lives affects the health or well-being of that other person (like Ji Eum’s aunt is suffering from illness now). That must be the reason why Seo Ha’s mother isn’t trying to reach out to him in her new life.

    ………………

What I hadn’t foreseen was Min Gi being in Ju Eum’s first life. I had somehow expected to see a fated connection with Seo Ha but not Min Gi.
The uncle had seemed suspicious from the beginning to me along with the aunt. What I am curious about is why Seo Ha’s father is shielding his brother in spite of knowing about the attempt on his own son’s life. Is it because of the risk to the reputation of the company caused by the scandal if this gets leaked out? One would think justice would be more important, and the fact that more attempts can be made still on Seo Ha’s life.

What I liked about the last 2 episodes was Seo Ha finally coming to accept Ji Eum and deciding to move beyond her family’s past and starting to open himself slowly away from the pain. I have not seen Ahn Bo Hyun before in any drama but I think he conveys his feelings very well here without words. I have always liked Shin Hye Sun and expect great acting from her, and no surprises there.

    EPISODE 8
@FGB, looks like you’re right. The father of JE is the literal mortal enemy of JE in her past life.

@Snow Flower, I’m beginning to think the same, ie that JE’s past lives all ended prematurely. She mentions somewhere that she wished for a normal life with a happily ever after ending. It sounded like something she never experienced.

@Cleo, I cannot receive email notifications so I can only reply to you like this. Yes, that’s true. Once in several hundred or a thousand years, the past life and present life persons have the same look.

I felt very sad for Seo Ha. It’s his life but it involves plot twist after plot twist. What he had thought was true about the accident and whom he could trust all crumbled in 1 episode.

I’m glad that he can get past the family member being guilty, and regard the one he loves as exempt from guilt immediately. I’d hate for that long distancing in the relationship just because a family member was a louse. (“Call it Love” comes to mind but that show did it well enough.)

I really wonder how his father was able to maintain a relationship with the evil uncle, knowing that given another chance, he might try again to kill SH. If the father is protecting the uncle, then it means Mun is complicit in the death of the loan shark. The man (CEO of 24 Caps) who had been summoned to see Mun was also at the scene of the crime.

Poor SH has ruthless killers for family members! I’m waiting to find out if his mother was indeed poisoned, and how Min Ki got to meet up with Han Na/Sang A.
