Presenting my next Chinese drama “My True Friend” starring Deng Xiaoping, Angelababy, and Zhu Yi Long. This was an easy choice for me because the whole first episode made sense to me. Whether the series can sustain my interest for – I don’t know – 30? 60? 200? lol episodes is another story entirely. But […]
Angel’s Last Mission: Love – Episodes 11 and 12
This is long so pace yourself. I’ll have to edit later because I was rambling last night. 1. Resurrecting the Dead Girl As it turns out, reincarnation isn’t necessary to resurrect the Dead Girl. KangWoo found an easier way to fill that big void his lover left. He found a stand-in, a proxy in YeonSeo. […]
Put Your Head on My Shoulder: Ep 23 Highlights
One more episode to go!!! I’ll start on another Cdrama soon. Still looking for around. Thanks for the recs, @agdr03 and @table122000. 1. Situ Mo visits GWY old lab. I say it’s about time she drops by. This “old lab” is the excuse GWY used for staying at their apartment with her. That being said, […]
Angel’s Last Mission: Love – On Giselle
I got the connection now of Episode 11 to the First Act of “Giselle.” I’ll try to sum up “Giselle” quickly and give my interpretation of the characters. Giselle was a peasant girl who loved to dance and loved a duke named Albrecht. Physically, she had a weak heart so she was prohibited from dancing. […]
Angel’s Last Mission: Love – Episodes 9&10
This episode has lots of dialogues which I consider to be building blocks. Meaning, we must take note of them now, because they’ll be relevant to the story later on. 1. No to the reincarnation theory This is one of my pet peeves with many kdrama writers. They take ideas from Catholic theology without understanding […]
Put Your Head on My Shoulder: Ep 22 Highlights
Two more episodes to go! 1. Situ Mo’s moodiness She accidentally pokes her ear when Gu WeiYi surprises her. (Who cleans his ears in the living room? Yuck! Cleaning ears, like cleaning noses, should be done in the privacy of the bathroom so hands can be washed afterwards.) WY: Are you going to sleep in […]
Put Your Head on My Shoulder: Ep 22 Laughter-Induced Asthma
I was laughing so hard, I started wheezing. I didn’t know that laughter could trigger asthma. This moment deserves special attention. I’ll write about the rest of the highlights in another post. Mo: Gu WeiYi! What’s wrong with you? WY: I can’t sleep at other place beside my bed. I think he means that he […]
Angel’s Last Mission: Love – Episodes 7&8
I have a lot to comment about in these two episodes. This will be long, I’m sorry. 🙂 1. Angel Dan is losing his angel wings It finally dawned on me that Angel Dan has been behaving less of an angel and more like a human. It began with his misquoting the bible. When he […]
Put Your Head on My Shoulder: Episode 21 Highlights
Three more to go. I promised myself I’ll end this soon so I can begin with Fair Xing’s new drama, “Your Highness, Class Monitor.” It’s now shown on Youtube and she’s starring opposite the Xiao Nai’s first brother from Love O2O. 1. Jealousy He was careful not to stand beside his Senior. He knew that […]
Put Your Head on My Shoulder: Episode 20 Highlights
Four more episodes after this! 1. Gu WeiYi as a brother Did she know what she was doing when she blew on his ears? Situ Mo had lowered inhibitions when she was intoxicated. Gu WeiYi assumed that she was unaware of her action and, more importantly, the effects of her action on HIM. She didn’t […]
Angel’s Last Mission: Love – Episodes 5&6
The third installment (or Episode 5 & 6) of this series was so much fun to watch because of its many layers it could be analyzed. 1. There’s the obvious pas de trois (or dance for three people) involving YeonSeo, Dan and Kangwoo. The influence of the Swan Lake ballet in this drama is unmistakable. […]
Throwback Thursday: Goblin
I didn’t have time to take many pictures while I was in Quebec. I can report that this candle which was outside the Christmas Store (real name: La Boutique de Noël) is now located inside the store. Most likely, to make the tourists enter and purchase something inside. Sigh. I wanted to blow out the candle […]
Put Your Head on My Shoulder: Episode 19 Highlights
Gosh! This must be the most awkward episode so far in this series. It’s as awkward as Luke going to the movies with his father. But it’s the parents’ fault for: one, dropping in on them unannounced. I never drop in on my children’s homes (even when they were staying in college dorms/apartments) without a […]
Angel’s Last Mission: Love — First Impressions
My good friend @lovebangwon gave me another mission. This time, it’s to give my first impressions on Angel’s Last Mission: Love. One of two things will happen in the near future: either I will drop this kdrama because of a) Shin Hye-Sun, b) Shin Hye-Sun, and c) Shin Hye-Sun, or I will continue this kdrama because of […]
