Fluttering Alert: Ep 15 Highlights

This isn’t a recap because my Korean language proficiency in a scale of 1 to 10 is 0.00019.

Highlights:

1. Getting him to say yes to her proposal

Image result for sad eyes cat gif

lol. Look at her sad eyes! Who could resist these sad eyes?

Of course, he couldn’t resist those eyes, so he answered, “Hae-yo!” which probably means “Heck no!”

😀

As in “Heck nooooo! I’m not kissing you.”

Why hand holding again? Grumble grumble grumble.

2. Informing their loved ones of their wedding

On the list of people to be informed: Unnie. Check.  She woke up her Unnie because she was giddily remembering his response to her proposal. “Hae-yo.” pfffftttt…

YJ’s dad. Check.

His mom. Check. It’s kinda cute that he told HER dad and she told HIS mom.

Even her BFF found out.  He looked sulky at first (perhaps because he had to find out from somebody else about her wedding??) but he righted himself after YJ teased him.

3. Dowry for the wedding??

For some reason, people were handing them money for the wedding, I presume. Do they really do this in Korea??

The dad gave YJ a savings bank account that he maintained all these years for her.

Her Unnie handed her an envelope, too.

But I thought this was the sweetest: WH’s mom also handed him her jewelry box. Awwwww!!! I didn’t think she had much to offer but it’s really the thought that counts.

4. Wedding photoshoot

She picked her clothes. I think she told her assistant So-ra that it’s the love that makes the wedding outfit look good on the bride and groom.

5. She informed even her fans

6. Celebrating their first Christmas as a couple

Yes, this is important.

I think she asked him if his father was going to their wedding. His REAL father. That prompted him to visit his dad, I think.

7. His dad

WH probably told his dad to come clean with his Stepmother about his illness.

For some reason, this scene looked sad. Later, when she was all by herself, she wept. She must really have loved him.

After she found out, she also told WH’s mom.

And SeHyun overheard them.

Phew! That was quick! Everybody who needed to know about Chairman Cha’s condition knew.

8. Buying for her newly-wed home

She checked out the furniture and dinner plates

But I found this moment too funny.

She was jumping on the bed, then she suddenly stopped and walked away. hahaha.

My guess is she walked away because she was embarrassed. Jumping on the bed probably reminded her of the other more “vigorous” and “bouncy” activities she and WH can do on the bed.

Hmmm… is this the reason they haven’t kissed? Because the writer is reserving it for the last episode?

9. Surprise visitors at YJ’s dad restaurant

Chairman Cha dropped by. He bowed and sat down. It took YJ’s dad a moment or two to recognize who this surprise visitor was.  So, Chairman Cha introduced himself as WooHyun’s dad and thank YJ’s dad.

YJ’s dad became flustered and they exchanged bows. Of course, YJ’s dad bowed lower.

All this bowing reminded me of the Stepmother’s indignation that WooHyun’s dad had to bow to Wannabe Wife’s dad to ask for her hand in marriage. She protested, saying something like, Who was this Chairman Kang that Chairman Cha had to bow to him??

By coincidence, YJ dropped by too and so YJ met her future father-in-law.

10. WooHyun takes his rightful spot

He did very well at his first ever board meeting. All the other board members were impressed with the way he answered their questions.

He’s given his own staff. His StepHyung found it hard to address him formally as he was used to talking “banmal” to him.

11. WH did double-duty

After working at his dad’s company, he worked at his other dad, YJ’s dad’s company…errr…restaurant.

12. Making their wedding vows?

Afterwards, they went to dinner and they wrote down something, most likely their wedding vows, because of the flashbacks.

WooHyun remembered their first embarrassing encounter when he grabbed her collar thinking she was a car thief.

And he recalled her vomiting. (pwahahaha. So evil of WooHyun!)

She remembered their beach date.

And this scene. Help? I can’t remember what happened during this scene?? He seemed to be lecturing her about something.

13. The Event

They went back to her place but he told her to wait for him. (I thought he told her to wait because he was going to use the restroom…hahaha)

When he didn’t come back, she followed him inside.

And she saw his surprise event.

A videotape of their special moments.

She started crying of course.

14. He proposed.

I couldn’t understand a thing that they were saying but thank goodness he popped the question was in English.

Look at the screen.

Of course, we knew all along that the reason HE hesitated to answer her when she asked him to marry her was because she preempted him. He was planning to do the proposal himself. But it was sweet that he prepared a special occasion complete with the video montage.

  1. Hope you had a great brunch celebration!

I didn’t understand korean too but watched it live to see if i would get the kisses we hoped to see. Hahaha. I was grumbling too when i saw that he held her hand after accepting the proposal! haha Remember HJM complained about their kissing and asked if being more intimate with him would drop her star quality. YJ is definitely a reserved girl. That is why no kisses i think! 😉

The screencap of him lecturing her over something was when he thought YJ paid for his hospital equipment and she is just like all other rich people flaunting their money. That leads to the chair apology, remember?

I found this episode really sweet. WH is definitely the guy for her. I liked how he made sure YJ is being properly proposed to even though they are preparing for their wedding. It is extremely romantic to have the proposal in the garden as it was where they confirmed each other’s feelings.

I like how the loose ends are tied up nicely except for Chairman Cha’s illness. I saw the preview and I was shocked to see him collapsed right in the middle of the wedding. I hope we have a good ending and noone dies. It will really be sad to have Chairman Cha passed away like that.

  2. Thanks for the highlights! At this moment, Viki has 26% translated. Yoo-Jung proposed because they’ll be separated for six months if she takes the job in the U.S. (Not the most romantic reason but I understanding her thinking.)

This point makes Woo-Hyun’s proposal all the more romantic because he’s reinforcing his choice is for love, and not just for nailing her down. Even without translations, my eyes moistened at WH’s proposal. Are you crying? No! You’re crying!

As sweet as the photo montage was, some of those shots made NO sense. The reporter on the rooftop never photographed them during Yoo-Jung’s drunken break-in because he was sleeping. Maybe he was there during the glamping fire but that’s weird to keep photographing … Ach, I should stop bitching about it.

Even though the lack of physical intimacy strains credulity—particularly at peak emotional moments—I cut the OTP some slack because they’re so tender with each other.

It seems like WH and his lawyer were doing a lot of behind the scenes stuff to clear Cha Se-Hyeon. “A person’s sincerity at times should work better than money or power.”</em Sincerity is one of shared traits that connected the Milk Couple from the start. I appreciate that theme being a continuing thread.

Once all the subs are in, I’m due some good fluttery Schadenfreude directed at Kang Hye-Joo.

    😉

  3. @tsutsuloo oh thanks for sharing the reason for YJ’s proposal. With this understanding…it made the proposal more romantic and precious… Remember she proposed to HJM too but she was rejected…. Here WH showed how much he loves and treasures her…

hahaha I agree with you that how some of the photos in the montage made no sense. Then I think to myself… Maybe because she is a star so every move of hers is being captured!

  4. Yes, the photo montage didn’t make sense BUT I interpreted it as an “homage” to the actress Yoon Eun Hye because this is her comeback show. The director compiled all the memorable clips of YEH acting as the character YJ and used the footage for WH’s proposal scene.

And that’s how I interpreted YJ’s tears. It wasn’t YJ crying because she was happy/sad as she recalled the progression of their love, but the actor YEH tearing up because she’s overwhelmed that her first comeback show was coming to an end.

As for that no-kiss-but-hand-holding-instead moment at the beginning of the show, I got trolled by the director!!! I really thought WH was leaning in to kiss her. There was even that slow-mo, And then— pwahahaha. They held hands!!!

  5. Awwwww! I’m waiting for subs but I believe your recap is spot on! Kumawo 🙇‍♀️

That scene your asking about was the opening of the clinic and WH found out about the money that YJ lent.

I’m excited about the wedding but WH’s Dad fainted or something on the preview. Hopefully it’s not the worse.

WH was very sweet when he prepared those videos of them but WHY no kiss after the proposal? 😰 Hopefully WH knows how to make babies 😂

  6. For some reason, people were handing them money for the wedding, I presume. Do they really do this in Korea??

Yes, yes they do. Dad saved it all for YooJung’s marriage and YooJoon’s studies from a long long time ago. In replacement of their absent mother.

Unnie gave YooJung a pair of open plane tickets though, for her and WooHyun’s honeymoon whenever, not money.

He seemed to be lecturing her about something.

About the time she paid the deposit for his clinic’s equipment and he got so upset thinking she resolves everything via money.

  7. “Hopefully WH knows how to make babies.”

@agdr03, you have me doing my old man whiskey laugh.😂

@Peeps! Thank you for your recap/quick translations on s**mpi for this lovely little show. I lurk and I appreciate.

  8. @packmule3—I love your interpretation of the slideshow honoring Yoon Eun-Hye. Again, I’m not crying. *blinks rapidly*

That personal touch fits in with the personal approach of the series as it integrated the real hobbies of the actors and addressed themes in the entertainment industry such as the casual cruelty of knetz, ageism, rumors ruining careers and the need to appear sexless.

I’m looking forward reading everyone’s final thoughts on @packmule’s series debrief. At this point, I’m full of respect for Chun Jung-Myung and Yoon Eun-Hye, for being able to create so many great moments in this unassuming little show.

  9. I’m watching at 35% subbed and when WH was talking to YJ’s Dad , Dad said that he feels that YJ wants to get married where her Mother can see. So @tsutsuloo , definitely no making babies where Mother tree is 😂

I felt a kiss coming after WH said yes to the proposal but the slow-mo went straight to their hands. I give up 🤦🏻‍♀️ I will just enjoy our Milk couple ‘s togetherness and happy anticipation of their wedding.

I loved that they both asked permission from each other’s parent for the wedding. That’s important to me. Hubby did that so I’m happy to see it.

Thank you for pointing out about the video montage which was really for YEH. It didn’t make sense because it was meant for her. I hope we get to see more of her in the future. I’m soooo happy she’s paired here with CJM. They made it real for me especially when they look and smile at each other. 😍

  10. @tsutsuloo Maybe I jinxed us here because I mentioned earlier on that I’m looking forward to some great kissing scenes because YEH is a great kisser. Think the PD heard me and did the exact opposite 😂

    My heart is crying! 😭😭😭

  11. Good morning, @agdr03!!

😱 Nope. No procreation in the vicinity of parents (dead or alive) just like no procreation in the vicinity of children (young or old). It should be a private affair.

Same here! I like that they both asked permission from each other’s parents! YJ did it, too. Equality, right?

I think the director TROLLED us with that hand-holding. The viewers were expecting a kiss when he seemed to rise from his seat and then leaned forward! 😂 Really now! He could have easily extended an arm and reached for her hand. 🤦‍♀️

Instead of lips meeting, we got “hands meeting.” Whatever….

And now, I’m sure WH’s father will collapse before they can seal the wedding ceremony with a kiss. 😂

  12. Yes, it’s a “personal” kdrama for YEH’s comeback. I’m sure the story incorporated her personal hobbies, as you said, and her little idiosyncrasies (like sweeping the floor when she’s upset?), her warmth, her huggy-huggy nature, and more.

😂 debrief? What debrief? You mean, my closing arguments as to why this show was worth blogging about? 🤪😈

This is my first CJM kdrama too and I’m not surprised why he gets asked to do these roles. He’s not a flashy guy. Like the wedding gown! 😂

He’s not the luxurious flashy gown … errr actor like Lee MinHo, Kim SooHyun, or Gong Yoo. He’s the simple and classic actor, who consistently delivers a solid performance. He does what he has to do.

And he matches YEH because he’s easy-going but steady and stable. He’s a likable guy.

  13. Ah! So that scene was when he misunderstood her good intention that prompted him to give her a chair apology.

Lol. That chair really got a lot of mileage right? I think it’s been featured in one or both episodes every week. That was a good prop.

Yes, I like the garden proposal. It’s a low-key but very sincere event. I really hate those public proposals done on a Jumbotron in a sporting event like a baseball or basketball game. That kind of event pressures the girl to accept the proposal because she’s got thousands of eyes on her.

  14. Regarding the photomontage, U thought he included the CCTV cam images in his apartment but the fire incidents is just memories because it was not flashed in the tv screen.

Pacmule & gals, I’m so happy be here, reading your comments
