Just Bitching: Are Tall Men a Cut Above?

Growing up with and living with tall men, I didn’t quite understand the fascination that kdrama fans have for big height differences in the couples. They seem to think that a tall man is a cut above the rest and that the small girl will be more protected by a giant of a guy.

Well, recently I saw a YT video purporting to make me “swoon” with its compilation of top couples with major height differences. Among the couples were:

The Cheese in the Trap couple. Awwwww…happy times.

Park Hyung Sik and Park Bo Young. Cuteness overload.

Father, I’ll take care of Lee TaeHwan. Awwww… so tall.

Yoo In Na’s man. They dated each other in real life but separated after he finished his military service.

After watching the YT, I quickly realized that yes! there is definitely ONE benefit of the big height discrepancy.

The guy is a cut above the girl.

Literally, you can easily cut out the guy from the picture… Like these:

Huh? Who was he again?

If only divorce was as easy as cutting him out of the picture.

Next time, just try using a step stool, Park Bo Young.

And this one would have been the sweetest revenge after the break-up. Snip here. Snip there. And it would be as if the guy never existed in her life before.

lol. See how it easy it was to cut the guys out of the picture because of their height? Just decapitate them.

Warning: Tall guys better beware of breaking up with short girlfriends. 🙎

  1. hahahaaa best :`D thanks for giving me a good laugh everytime

  2. staring at your tall boyfie would be a true contorsionist’s exercice though lol

  3. lmao. that should be great advise.

  4. 😇 My pleasure. I aim to please.

Do you see now why I had to create a blog? Where in soomps can I post something like this? I’ll be reported as “insulting” cast members and banned for life. 👿It’s much more fun to think differently.

  5. And kissing-while-standing is such a pain. You get either leg cramps or a neck crick. The guy will have to hug you by the waist and lift you up just to be on eye level.

    Not only that —

You know neck kissing? You can only do this when you’re both sitting down because otherwise 1) you can’t reach his neck and 2) when he kisses your neck, he’s bending down almost to his waist just to reach you.

There are so many logistical problems. Your body don’t line up. Like his crotch might be at your chest level. 😂

Anyway… hahaha. People will figure this out. There really are more awkward body positions in bed, too. 😜

  6. Have you seen Jugglers? The guy Daniel Choi has to hunch over like he’s Quasimodo, the hunchback of Notre Dame, just to kiss Baek JinHee. 🤓

    And I think he’s only 6’1. Lol.

I read somewhere that 6’1 was the ideal height for Korean male actors so men are pressured to make themselves appear “taller” by creative means.

  7. you’re right! 🙂 a free space to express our uncommon and funny thoughts about kdramas is what we need, and then why not laughing out loud which is good for everyone 😀

  8. hahahaaa I can’t 😂😂😂 ‘logistical problems’ looool

‘leg cramps or a neck crick’ imagine having a ‘tall boyfie’ condition 😂😂

some actresses I believe have to stand on a bench or something to appear taller and reduce the height difference, I remember seeing this for Park Bo Young in Strong Woman DO Bong Soon BTS

while some taller actors do some weird ‘spreading leg thing’ to be reachable for their co stars or stylists and make up artists

hehehe why this obsession for height though… really ..Koreans and their impossible standards lol

  9. Lol no wonder directors pick tall substitute actors to film characters whom we are not supposed see his face then after revelation I’m like huh wasn’t he taller o.O

  10. Hahaha. Tricks of the trade? What kdrama was this?

I notice that the media also makes a big deal out of actors doing “manner legs.” The first couple of times I saw a press release about so-and-so actors with legs spread open, I remember thinking it was cute. But now, I know I’d be annoyed if I was a passerby and somebody had his legs splayed out like that because 1) he’d be occupying public space and making a nuisance of himself, and 2) I’d trip over his darn legs if I weren’t careful. Just take a seat or squat down.

But then you know how cranky I can be. 🙂

  11. It was crime Jdrama can’t remember the name now.TT

Right, manner legs. I find it really awkward in kiss or hug scenes because I spot it almost everytime. I’ve checked the bts of Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and Park Bo Young rejected Hyunshiks’s offer hehehe

There must see photo of Lee Kwang Soo giving his award speech with manner legs

  12. Yes, I’ve seen that picture of giraffe Lee Kwang Soo receiving an award.

I haven’t watched a lot of Jdrama. I sometimes find their actors look cartoonish — skinny as twigs with spiky hair.

  13. okay onlysb1,

Did you want me cut off Kwangsoo’s head or his legs? pwahahaha.

  14. Fair enough that’s why jdramas don’t have shower scenes.

    @Packmule, nooooo don’t touch giraffe

  15. okay. okay. I won’t shorten giraffe. I was just about to get my scissors ready…..

For me, there’s really nothing attractive about skin and bones. And those bones will leave bruises on a girl’s curves…if you know what I mean.
