Same here. The EE degree is a major boost. But ZLH’s drawback is his skinny waistline. I prefer men built like a tank rather than a beanpole.

I loved the EE guy too. Beauty and smarts (not easy to get in Engg..). His acting in POJ was awesome. I had seen some earlier dramas of his Princess Royale, and “Best of You?” and they were good acting. Actually in the later one, I did not like the Female actress.
I have not seen Perfect Crown yet, plan on doing that and I like the ML too. So, I would pick both of them for our Shallow island.

I have put ZLH as my second fave after Yang Yang so that’s says a lot. 🥰

I liked his character in “Princess Royale” but lost my patience with the female lead. She kept him at arm’s length even after he confessed (in the rain no less) as some sort of punishment bec in the previous life, she thought he married her only for her royal connection. 🙄🙄 It was such a farce. Like, she did anything to show him that she loved him back….
I watched only the first ep of BWS’ “Lovely Runner” — his first hit, right? So I want to make it up this time.

When it comes to Shallow Island, I have no preferences, however I was thinking more in terms of which guy might make it to the Boyfriend Hall of Fame. I’d like to compare the 2 MLs in terms of how they treat their ladies. 🧐😍🤩😎

Oh I like Dylan Wang too and Ao Ruipeng. But ZLH really did an amazing job in Pursuit of Jade and even the funny scenes. 🥰 that’s why I’ve elevated him as my second fave. ❤️
By all means, @GB, compare the 2MLs.
I think however ZLH’s character may have an unfair advantage because he has a lot more material to work with (40 episodes!!) than BWS’ Grand Prince Yi Ahn.
I was going to post a gif of ZLH’s character’s kiss scene by he seemed to have a lot??? And they’re rather hot and steamy. Lol. They made Yi Ah’s kiss-over-the-wall appear like a newbie smooch.

you are right about the female lead in Princess Royale. I think I mentioned in one of my posts about my ignorance of all these manipulations that the females in the olden times did just to survive especially in a male dominated world. I was tolerant of her but I loved the male lead so much that I found other dramas he had done and watched them. I also watched Kunning palace. His role there is just as wonderful as POJ. so, even with a slim waist I would vote for Zhang linge a lot.

Haha so fun to be on shallow island! Prob was there for ZLH long ago! I watched his high school kid drama, loved his drama Journey to You except his seaweed eyebrow. Watched him on the Truth Seasons 3 halfway. He is just a math genius as he scored super high on his Gaokao.
I agree that he is too thin now, read that he lost weight for the drama Our Generation and more for this. He isn’t quite a muscular person tho, would be good if he bulked up a bit, I wonder. He said he was overweight, like 100kg for a season like did he half it? Sigh even guys gotta lose so much weight for tv.
