Pinocchio is a 20-episode series by one of our fave Writers, Park Hye Ryun.
As it’s a long series and there are weeks I know I will be ‘brain-fogged’ or unable to come online, I’ve inserted 4 breaks. Let me know if you feel you need more breaks.

Next NW will get sick but JH won’t be there for her. It’s all kind of one-sided for the longest time.

@WE, yes… it was just a cold or flu… It seems like Koreans go to hospital very quickly for things like that. Of course NW had been a sickly child.

@WE, the spectre of Soo In gave him ‘permission’ to be happy with someone else. So he finally decides that NW is a person who can have his attention now. Also it took the scolding from her cousin and the shock of NW being sick because of him.
I guess the hospital thing scared him because the last girl who had anything to do with him ended up dead… but that was self-inflicted, which is why it has made a stronger and longer sad impression on everyone.
Bok Gil is sick, as a cliffhanger. Well, we know why, the story has a bit of sadness in the end. It looks like the story is about to heal the death of previous girl, and also kill the cat, in a way Na Woo replace them both.
Fun fact: there is a famous book about screenwriting called “save the cat”, not sure why it’s the title (I’ll have to check), but from vague memory, it’s because writers sometimes kill a cat, or rather, their villain kill a cat, so we know it’s really a villain. Or otherwise, the villain does lot of bad things BUT save a cat, so even as a villain, we can stick with him a little bit.
@WE, that’s interesting about villains and cats. I did hear that having someone treat a pet/animal well made it look like they were better people than they appeared to be. Not sure if that can ever be used to prove that a drama villain is not really a villain or not.
@GB, yep, but this ghost is just his own mind (incounscious, let’s say).
He forgives himself, let go, and authorize himself to be happy again, and loving.
I like that, it’s kind and beautiful.
@WE, yes, I prefer your interpretation, that he gives himself the permission to let go of Soo In now, and be happy again.

@GB, I found that with Grok: “save the cat” is a concept from this book, but about the protagonist. Make the protagonist save a cat at the start of the story, so we know how good he’s.
I didn’t read that book, but could quickly read another book from a friend of the author of this book, “save the cat for TV”. Almost close, just the concept are for TV writing instead of movies.
@GB, yep, it’s ok for me about the dates, anyway, it’s saturday, the same things again and again. I find that nice it’s Pinochio as I already watch it + great writer + Park Shin Hye big eyes full of tears. ahaha.
@WE, yes, I’ve heard of that about saving a cat. Might as well have been save a dog or any creature to show that protagonist has a ‘good’ heart.
