Hi @pkml3! Thanks for updating our schedule. This series is so well written, it’s hard to watch newer shows that lack the delicious twists and setups for heart-wrenching irony. I’m being spoilt by the Rewatch shows!!!
I have enough of recent dramas. I watched “wonderfools” but that was meh. So I started “Something happened in Bali”. A drama people didn’t like a lot in western world, but did 26% rating in South Korea (40% last episode), two actors got Baeksang Arts Awards, and the screenwriter too!

We begin with the older brother showing how much he hates reporters to DP who is really his younger brother, who also hated reporters but became one. What a paradox, because DP knows exactly what his brother feels but cannot agree with him and say “Yeah, me too!”
Heh @WE… after finding his brother again, thefirst thing DP has to grapple with is the likelihood that his brother is a killer.
And exactly at that time, his brother becomes a hero!!! What irony. And the greater irony is that he became a hero because he thought the truck was going to kill his ‘brother’ Ha Myung… who is now DP…. whom he just cussed out for being a reporter.
What a convoluted lot of ironies!
So now it’s going to be a mad rush to get the news out to make Jae Myung the nation’s hero and to raise the ratings for MSC.
@GB, I understood nothing about your list of irony, LOL. I confuse too much characters.
So he saved a child. Ha Myung, but I don’t know who is this child.
About irony about his brother, yes it’s true, I get it.
I observe the cameraman journalist did nothing to help, and filmed like a vulture.
How to make him a hero, he hates journalists. If they try an interview, he will kill them. LOL !
Best irony is that the person who wants to use Jae Myung to raise ratings, is the very person who treated Jae Myung badly 13 years ago and slandered his father.
She was heartless towards him before, now she speak sweetly about him.

I’m in the scene where Ruby is again in her dellusion, talking she’s not interested into Dal Po. (she believes he’s interested by her). Well, she plays the “hard woman” because she doesn’t want he gets her too quickly, but hoping he will insist. GOSH, so funny.
@WE, the boy he saved only looked a bit like Ha Myung when he was disappeared.
This show might be about mother and child – we have Bum Joo’s mother going crazy over her son making a news report.
@WE, yes, Ruby is the one giving us the comedy now. She was lied to by Bum Joo so now thinks that DP likes her. But any girl with sense can tell by DP’s behaviour that he does not care about her romantically at all. And she considers herself so observant and looked down on IH. – Yes, another bit of irony here.
Mother is crazy with joy, her little son doing the news on TV. AHHAH!
OH, so the boy looked like Dal Po Hyung. NOW I UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING !! Hourra!
@WE… there will be more irony with this mother and son.
Writer is amazing in planting characters in situations that will be twisted so that what is a plus becomes a minus later, and vice versa.

Now IH is asking Jae Myung dangerous questions about the reporter who slandered his father. Seems the cameraman remembers Jae Myung and DP can hear from so far away and they both don’t want IH to find out about how her mother was such a monster to Jae Myung.
Of course, he accepts the ITW because it’s In Ha (and not someone else) with a desire of revenge.
And he reveals the boy looked like dal Po young. But heyyy, you already got the information because you rewached before the rewatch.
Currently, as a rewatch, I feel like I’m almost watching for the first time. I watched this drama in 2017, after rewatching W many times (Pinnochio is one of the two drama able to put me out of this loop, with King2heart, else I couldn’t watch a drama, everything disappointing and I would just rewatch W instead).
IH begins by not knowing anything, but she chooses to trust DP. She can figure out that he’s hiding stuff for her sake.
By the end of this episode she ends up knowing everything that DP wants to hide from her.

Yes, this drama Pinocchio is making it hard for me to watch other dramas. They feel lacking by comparison.
Oh O!! Jae Myung remembers the cameraman was with him and Song Cha Ok at the 13 year old interview when they edited the interview to make his father look bad.
Lee Joo Ho (the cameraman) is also from the past of the brother. I think this guy will be killed, because he’s not In Ha, continue to do bad things and so… It’s like it’s written “ready to be killed” on his forehead.
I cannot remember was it in Ep 7 or8 that DL and IH decided to just like each other.
Now the mother and daughter scene – finally Song Cha Ok says something approving of IH and she’s over the moon.
The shoes that her father gave her are actually from Song Cha Ok… she’s so happy.
Her hi-fives are crazy painful LOL.
Strangely, she doesn’t suffer from her high-five ones, her hands are made of iron?? 🙂
IH mother starts to be kind BUT in a very very indirect way (she buys shoes for her).

He’s worried though, because he knows that Song Cha Ok had been very unjust over the 13 year old interview and something else that she did to Jae Myung… he had a reason to take revenge on her.
Now the irony continues because the news keeps showing up to paint Jae Myung as a hero.
But poor DP has to investigate the hero as a likely killer.
They ask if they have something to put the “story” on their side… actually… DP could reveal he’s the brother. Wooosshhh, big clash between the two channels.
Continuing from above … not only that … DP gets to find out that Jae Myung had crashed his truck to save the boy because he had been reminded of him/Ha Myung.
He also gets to hear that his brother could air the injustice done to their father in his interview, and get an apology.
But DP is assigned to investigate his brother.
@GB, yeah, even “the big bad” IH mother appologize in the news!!!!
The News networks were always clashing but now MSC has taken the spotlight… or rather they are using Jae Myung to raise their ratings… and they do exactly the same thing or opposite of what they did about his father. Instead of showcasing how good his father was they slandered him. Now instead of airing how Jae Myung had been in jail for threatened assault, they hide it.
All done in pursuit of ratings as it suited them – ie they hide news or lie (even as many stations do the same now)
How are: the elevators always FULL of people to create problems to enter OR with no one and the two peoples alone supposing to clash each other?!!
The next mother-daughter scene – in the lift. Bum Joo wants to enable or initiate a mother-daughter hug.
He also wants to talk to Song Cha Ok.
The revelations start coming on strong. The old phone with the text messages finally reaches the person for whom they were meant.
The rich boy got IH mother smartphone during 13 years. He reads the messages (the ones from IH) but NEVER gave back the smartphone to the mother. YYyOOooOOO PURE kdrama delirium. 😀 😀 😀
Little screenwritring trick : about smartphone messages, the voice-over alternate IH voice and mother voice. 😉
The third mother-daughter scene where IH is just so happy to be with her mum and exchange egg yolk for egg white.
Meanwhile DP gets a special recorder tie pin. And goes to visit his father. Too late there are messages and flowers from people who felt bad.
IH gives her eggs when mother already have eggs. So she gives back more eggs. T T
DP brother burns the smartphone, but DP had another way to recording as a safety.
Poor IH now starts to realise who DP and what her mother did to his brother and family. Just as she starts having a nice, long overdue, sweet relationship with her mother. So sad. Good to hear DP’s thoughts in the voiceovers.
The brother tried to stab IH mother with an award. Too bad, they should just use the brother actor (with make up) instead of a younger version.
@WE that was the award given to his father for being such a good fireman and hero. And he was about to stab Song Cha Ok with that award.
Because of this, she got him imprisoned and away from his family. He could not even call his mother and tell her??? One of those drama things that don’t make sense…
IH discover the truth about her mother. So, visually speaking, she takes off the shoes the mother offered her.
Haahhaaa.

@WE yes I love this part about the shoes. It was there from the beginning in her house. She loves her shoes because her mum had bought them for her but then DP’s shoe tells her who he is, and she starts to understand what he has been suffering. Her loyalty towards him makes her throw away her good shoes!!! So good.
@WE, Yes… crazy with irony. Both the mother-daughter and the brother-brother relationships are filled with irony.
The episode concludes with IH knowing the truth about DP. It was a THICK episode, stretching toward max emotion.
@WE, yes a very dense episode indeed! True … so much to feel. So painful.
So we come to the end. Ep 10 onwards continues to be good.

Currenly, I work like mad on pictures. I didn’t speak a lot about that (because it could be boring and annoying), but I completed 9 episodes of W2 about pictures. Now working on episode 52 (close to finish) and then just 2 last episodes. Then, I’ll do lot of pictures for episodes 14 to 27. But at least, soon the drama will be ready for the two faithfull reader who could read it and wanting to read the end. No less than 12 hour screentime. The most crazy part of the drama.
