Before I begin — Veteran readers of this blog know that I don’t do recaps. If you’re looking for a faithful account of the events in a drama, then you’ve come to the wrong place. You should decamp to Dramabeans, Dramamilk, and other drama recapping sites. Here, you’re getting MY unabashed interpretation of the plot. […]

Merry Christmas, y’all!! Or as the kids say in Korean, “Me-ri keu-ri-seu-ma-seu!” But if you want to be fancy, say, “Keuriseumaseu jal bonaeseyo!” I hope you have a joyous and blessed day with your dearest ones. True Beauty: Episode 3 The “Revenge”
Just because the heroine JoKyung did all the heavy lifting (literally, with the box of papers) in this episode doesn’t mean that I found her to be the most interesting character of the hour. For me, Suho was more intriguing. The episode began with him draping his jacket over a hunched-up JK. He was backlit. […]

2020 Dramas: The Year in Review
I know for us here at BoD, there’s nothing like a “Challenge” to get our adrenaline going. Here’s an “End of the Year Drama Challenge” created by @anniedelavoye. I hope this will help us gain perspective and give thanks to all the fictional dramas that helped us get through the real-life dramas of this very challenging […]
Mr Queen: Eps 3 & 4 Open Thread
Update: Ep 5 will air on Saturday, January 2. This show cracks me up. Although I know that in the history books, it didn’t fare well for this Joseon king, I like how subversive the whole story is. But I can’t help wondering WHY the writer(s) insisted on using a historical figure, and didn’t just […]
The Uncanny Counter: Eps 7 & 8 Open Thread
The thread is now open for spoilers, comments and…stress. This kdrama is so stressful to watch. Even his hair is stressing me out. lol. I want to take a flat iron to straighten those curls. Gifs from kdramadaily’s tumblr credit: kdramadaily’s tumblr But it’s a welcome change of pace from romcoms. Let’s enjoy the show! […]
True Beauty: Eps 1 & 2 First Impressions
So far, so good. I enjoyed these first two episodes and here are my reasons. 1. The writer I know I kicked up a fuss earlier because I don’t like kdramas derived from comic books, especially the serialized webtoons. This is what I said… My problem with this drama is its source material. It was […]

Start-Up: Hall of Fame/Shame
There’s a Hall of Fame. Then there’s also the Hall of Shame. Here are some of the most egregious tweets that I’ve seen on Dosan. I won’t mention their twitter handles because I don’t want you searching for them and harassing them. Seriously, don’t. I’m posting them here so next time, you see tweets like […]
