Happiness: Ep 11 GB’s Levels of Evil
I asked @Growing_Beautifully to rank the apartment dwellers according to their depravity, with the top being the most depraved of them all. She shared me her list, and I think she did a good job. When looking at the criminal offenses of these characters, it’s helpful to remember that there’s a “hierarchy” when assessing the […]
Bad and Crazy: Eps 1 & 2 Open Thread
The premiere is here! credit: gongwookie’s tumblr Remember my Bitch rule: If a guest monopolizes the conversation with oppa-drivels (i.e., oppa is handsome, oppa is heart-eu, oppa has abs/pecs/mantitty, oppa is hawt, oppa is as;dga;sdkg!), it’s my sole discretion to remove or block that post. Let’s stick with our usual discussion of plots and characters, not […]
Bitch Talk: BoD’s Top Ahjussi Deuteragonists of 2021
Vocabulary of the Day! Deuteragonist = sidekick or supporting character It comes from the word “deuter” (meaning “second”) and “agonist” (meaning “participant”). This category is new for this blog. @Growing_Beautifully suggested that we have an appreciation post for ahjussi actors like Lee Seung Joon and Oh Jung Se. I thought that was a great idea […]

Happiness: Ep 10 The Lord of the Flies
Back in the Episode 8, I commented that this drama reminded me of the classic “Lord of the Flies.” It showed how easy it was for civilized people to abandon rules of common decency and return to savagery. If you haven’t read the book, I found a 10-minute synopsis on Youtube. In this Episode 10, […]
Happiness: Ep 9 Nrllee’s Notes
I’m re-posting this even though the drama is already done because: a. this drama was so fast paced that I’m going to forget what happened when. Nrllee’s recaps will remind me of the sequence of events. b. I like to go over and see where the plot holes were. c. I don’t have time to […]
Welmaris’ Joseon Monarchs and Sageuk Project
For a novice dipping her toes for the first time into historical kdramas or sageuk, awareness of the timeline and circumstances of the drama probably doesn’t matter. It’s enough to enjoy the swashbuckling heroes of the Goryeo period and the pretty maidens in hanbok during the Joseon era. But if you’ve been swimming in these […]

Jirisan: Eps 15 & 16 Open Thread
The end. My three major complaints: This show dragged on. The plot didn’t need 16 episodes to come full circle to this central message: source: cuddlybitch’s tumblr It underutilized the male lead HyunJo. Because we were only seeing his past actions, his character growth appeared stunted. We’ve been waiting for him to wake up since […]

Bitch Talk: BoD’s Top Idol-Actors of 2021
It’s time to reshuffle my deck of Idol Actors and choose my Top Four. My original Fab Four were: Siwan of ZE:A https://i.imgur.com/P53pihh.mp4 He’s been crossed off my list because: a. none of his recent projects sparked my interest. He has to choose better projects so I can reassess his acting skills. b. he hasn’t […]
Bitch Talk: What Are We Watching in Dec 2021?
With both “Jirisan” and “Happiness” ending this week, I’m ready for two new dramas next week. I’m keeping an eye on these following shows: 1. Our Beloved Summer Synopsis from wiki: A coming of age romantic comedy that revolves around Choi Woong (Choi Woo-shik) and Kook Yeon-soo (Kim Da-mi), ex-lovers who broke up with a […]
