Poem a Day: Seeking for Clues?

Can’t believe we have 3 (almost 4 waiting for subs) more days to mull over these clues!!! EEP EEP.
These discussions on here keep my faith alive though.

Huh? I thought the MinHo-Boyoung ship is dead in the water? Why are we still looking for clues? πŸ˜ˆπŸ˜±πŸ˜€

Here I’ll give you a couple for now.

1. No bokeh lights.

The director just went with dim lights for this boring (ha!) couple so they receded in the dark.

Really now! You’d think that the director would put more ooomph and romantic lights to celebrate the couple’s first kiss, right?

2. Her clothes.

She was wearing a monochromatic blue dress with a V-neckline. That’s NOT her style. She was trying to look old and staid to fit Ye’s image.

But that isn’t WHO she is. She’s only a little bit older than the other two female interns, but she looked like she was in her late 30s. Those two girls were dressed suitably for their age. BoYoung even managed to look older than Dr. Kim, who was wearing a pastel green.

I told y’all that her costumes are part of her narrative. πŸ˜€

  1. We’re not dead yet, rather, we’re waiting for confirmations to raise our flag. Team Minho all the way!

  2. BO-HO couple!!

Are Dr. Ye and Boyoung speaking informally with each other when they are alone? I can’t seem to remember.
Also, doesn’t it seem that even BY is a bit embarrassed by how Dr. Ye is acting? Maybe my bias towards Minho is clouding my judgement but I felt nothing when they kissed.

You might have addressed this when you were talking about the beach scenes and BY being brought to reality.. and maybe because I’ve experienced this before.. where people have talked up and hyped up a person and I really thought I liked them a lot but ended up not feeling as strongly about that person once the relationship actually began. I feel like she didn’t really notice Dr. Ye as much at first until everyone hyped her up as being part of the Ye Line and ‘oh Dr. Ye must really like you because of XYZ’ I think 4 episodes would be enough for someone to realize this in Kdrama land.

  3. I think what’s more telling is his “advice” to her before the kissing scene. He said that he was ready to face whatever may happen. And this: “let’s just do whatever we want and be NATURAL with each other.” πŸ™„ That’s the whole problem of their relationship. That is PRECISELY what we’ve been saying. She doesn’t act like herself when she’s with him. And neither does he. His actions catch attention because those aren’t his normal behavior.
I really want to see where the writer is going with this, whether she/he thinks this kind of hero-worship passes off as love.

  4. It would be hysterical should the writer make a 180 degree turn and end with Bo-Ho. Complete reversal of fortune.

  5. I think I’ve at least figured out the symbolism of why Min ho got hit on that crossing by the pesky motorbike and it actually makes me feel a lot better (less bitter) about it! So I thought I’d share it with you – my fellow sufferers…

What’s been bugging me from early on in this series is that Bo Young still reads poetry but no longer writes it. In the early stages of her infatuation with Min ho, she gives him poems that she’s written but she only ever gives Dr Ye other people’s poetry. Her own words have been silenced.

Look at what happens to Min ho. He’s spend a whole episode searching for a book and is going to confess with that book. With other people’s words. That isn’t good enough. He gets hit on the crossing, the book falls on the ground and there’s a lingering shot of it lying there.

So what’s the message? You need to write your own words. You need to be yourself and be brave enough to show what/who you really are. Not just quote another person’s poems.

I’m hoping that Min ho will step up and write her a poem. Or if Dr Ye and Bo young are end-game, she needs to write her own poem for him (he might not like it)

  6. Brava!

I was actually going to write about this on Sunday!! πŸ˜‚ To give our ladies hope before the big night on Monday, I was going to give them that big clue.

But I’m glad you saw it, too.

You see, that happened in the movie too, “A Season of Good Rain.” The guy started to write a poem after meeting the girl. πŸ˜€ It dawned on me then that Boyoung stifled herself after she got rejected. That she too had been copying other people’s words instead of writing her own words.
She had WRITER’S BLOCK! And that’s how she too forgot about poetry.
That’s why her words on her poster were “You Too.” She too forgot about poetry like MinHo did.

Lol. I was “timing” my reveals so it wouldn’t look as if I’m forcing this Bo-ho ship.

But yes. You’re absolutely correct. It is far from over with MinHo. He’s down for the count (because of the kiss) but he is definitely NOT Out yet.

And yes, I think it will have to be MinHo’s proposal because he was looking up for ways to express himself. That’s how it connected with Defcon. Defcon showed him his research work on how to propose. And MinHo didn’t find them cheesy and was inspired to get ideas from them to write his poetry for Boyoung.

    πŸ˜‚

Awesome! I’m glad that YOU brought this up because that means I’m not only one who thinks MinHo will get the Boyoung at the end. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

  7. Oh, Packmule3 I hope I didn’t mess up your reveal timings – but I’m so glad you were thinking the same thing! I haven’t seen the movie you mention, but if both of us thought it, it has to be true.
    Right? Right?

    Here’s hoping…

  8. Hahaha. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that you messed up my timing. You MADE me scramble to write a follow-up piece. πŸ˜‚

But that’s alright. Like you, I’m glad that you saw it that way too.

I’ll post later. My husband and I are attending this “Running of the Chihuahuas” to celebrate Cinco de Mayo (and drink Corona, tequila, mohito). It’s a spoof of the “Running of the Bulls” in Pamplona, Spain. πŸ˜‚

    Gotta run! πŸ€£πŸ˜†
