Meticulous writers and directors usually put hints on there.
This is how it goes:
BoYoung wakes up in the morning to deliver poems, letters, and books to her colleagues. This is her desk littered with paraphernalia. See the heart? It’s unique because it’s the only of its kind there. Don’t lose track of it now….
She goes to the hospital and she hand-delivers each package and letter to her friends and colleagues. See her cart? And that heart?
Public Service Announcement: That’s actually dangerous. It’s UNsafe to bring a cart on the escalators.
Then, she goes down the hospital corridor. The red heart is very prominent. It’s like beacon. But there are other special deliveries in her cart.
There are four special packages tied with a string and decorated with sprigs of dried flowers. And then there’s the heart holding an airmail envelope next to her book of poetry or journal. Do you see them all?
The book with the sprig of lavender is for Dr. Ye. She arranges it nicely on his desk.
But we don’t see on whose desk she leaves the heart. It just disappears from her cart. Sneaky, huh?
Before we know it, she’s already delivering the last floral book to the other therapists. So … who received BoYoung’s heart?
Only after rewinding the opening scene, do we discover who she’s given her heart to.

That’s why I said that FROM THE BEGINNING when I started blogging about this kdrama, that, although I would have preferred Dr. Ye (clarification: that was before I learned that he could be a jackass, too. When he does it, it’s adultery, when I do it, it’s romance.), the movement of the script, including the details, FAVORED MinHo.

And here’s the reason I asked for a translator. Thanks Oli,@babominyeo on twitter, and Gerrytan on soompi. I had to make certain that Boyoung did NOT slip Dr. Ye a love letter in there or somewhere so their help was needed to translate this.
If you notice, it has the same string and dried flowers. According to the ladies, it’s the same poem as the one written on the note that Dr. Ye picked up at the end of Episode 1. “Pain and Sorrow Can Become a Way” by Lee Chunghan.
After a long time,
I can learn through pain
That pain can also become a way
The wind must blow
So the tree will root deep within the earth
So it won’t fall over.
As for the poem written for MinHo? Oli said it’s the first poem in the Episode 1, “Flowers That Bloom When Shaken” by Do Jong Hwan. It’s the title of the Episode. That’s why I considered MinHo THE Male Lead, and Dr. Ye as the second male lead.
No flower blooms without being shaken
The most beautiful flowers in this world
All shake as they bloom
As they shake, their stems
Straighten in an upright position.

oooh. This part with the heart is lovely! Missed it completely but I also didn’t see the opening credits until episode 14.
“Flowers That Bloom When Shaken” for MinHo fits so well. All this drama is doing, with BoYoung fantasizing about Dr.Ye then them getting together & MinHo finding out in episode 14 is to shake MinHo. Almost like the whole show is about his growth and his reactions.
As I’ve said in a previous comment, Dr Ye is for the most part a prop.
So so true. He’s growing too. He has to! He’s been shaken to the core.
Metaphorically and literally, the two of them were shaken when they rode the ATV. I didn’t get to finish Ep 14. Only until the ATV segment to see what the fuss is all about.
Everybody was upset with MH bec of the ATV but I thought that Ye was also to blame for that. He was chasing them… duh. It became a race when he tried to pursue them. If he had just let them go, like Dr Kim and Dr Yang, MinHo wouldn’t have rushed off. Besides what did HE think MinHo was going to do to BY? Kill her?!

🤗 Hugs! It’s because MinHo’s supporters have endured two weeks — well, technically, nine days of crappy treatment from the writer, the director, and the YeLiners.
Then Episode 13 was so trollish with the depressing “life is so cruel” theme. It was downright sadistic.
So this “discovery” is a big relief for all of us. But let’s wait and see. As I said, I want to see how this writer plans to end this. So far, I’m not impressed. He’s totally ALIENATING everybody: both the Minho-Boyoung camp and the Yeliners.
And I still want BoYoung to grovel.
I don’t feel like watching Episode 14 anymore but I’ve to stick with it.
Hmmm… How about on the very first episode? What about TVN channel showing the mini-clips on YouTube?

You know, the older I became, the less sleep I needed at night. But I’d doze off at the oddest time like on my way home from work or after lunch. I often close the office door and have a power nap on the couch. Weird. My husband teases me that I need a rocking chair like those grannies in retirement homes. But a wooden rocking chair would look so out of place with my office furniture. 🤦♀️😂

Also.. I tried to google to see if the opening credits is on youtube and found a trailer ONLY with BoYoung and MinHo. Is there another one somewhere with Dr. Ye?

I have this weird feeling that we’re just being trolled. Even with the heart. Lets see how this ends. One side is trolled anyway, it’s either us or the YeLiners
Yes, don’t worry now about the endgame. Just focus on how this writer is trying to make MinHo likable again. Was he likable in Ep 14? I haven’t watched it completely. What do you think of his behavior?
Interesting. The opening credits is the introduction of the show. It shows the names of the actors, the writers, director. We see the same unchanging scenes. Boyoung wakes up, her table is cluttered. She dresses for work, she packs her poems, she leaves the house, she enters the hospital, she brings cart all around and delivers the goodies. Meanwhile, the actors’ pix and names roll on in the background. The actress for BoYoung comes first, then Ye’s actor, them MinHo’s actor, the three senior doctors, radiologists, then NamWon and the girls. Then it ends with image of Boyoung on the bridge facing the blue skies.
It’s not a trailer though. Let’s see if A and company can find it. I’ve asked other people to find it so we can gif it. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to make gifs from Dramafever. DF wouldn’t allow me to do so in the conventional way through giphy.
But instead of focusing on just the endgame, let’s focus on rehabbing MinHo. Was he THAT bad to you, Oli? What do you think of his antics?
it’s hard to tell because I still haven’t watched it with subs. I think he was a mess, mostly unlikeable but also with a touch of .
I think I understand how his reaction is anger because he acted exactly like us. It felt like all he did and said was an interface for us.

After MinHo sees BoYoung in Dr Ye’s arms:

Anyway he gets angry when she tells him to keep her relationship a secret:
BoYoung: “It’s a secret from everyone else, okay?”
MinHo:” A secret? Then you shouldn’t have let me catch you. You shouldn’t have let anyone catch you.”
BoYoung: “Why is he mad?”
Then she sends him a message: “What’s wrong with you? You should congratulate me. Why are you angry?”
BoYoung, although she’s the one who is in touch with emotions.. she gets nothing of why MinHo acts the way he does in this episode.
I liked MinHo asking why he was led on, if she was going to be with Dr Ye, why did she give him hope. That felt so like us wondering what the hell is with this kdrama making us feel the focus is on MinHo to end up with BoYoung & Ye.
MinHo after entering his room, after seeing that message, talking to himself: “If you were going to like him again, why did you cry in front of me? Why did you say you misjudged him, that it was good that you were rejected and that you would be able to get over him easily?
You gave me false hope… and made me into a fool.”
MinHo is us.
The way he treats BoYoung & DrYe in this episode is the way we would treat the writers. That’s why I can empathize with him. But he is not acting like a nice guy at all. And he only gets to get BoYoung annoyed, she makes her cry too after throwing her bracelet
BoYoung:Why did you throw that?
MH: Because I felt like it.
BY: “What?
Is it really that wrong for me to date Doctor Ye? Is it an unforgivable sin?
Fine, I wasted your time. But we’re friends. Isn’t that why you comforted me?
Then can’t you just congratulate me for being happy?I don’t even expect that much. Do you have to be this petty?
Do you have to be such a jerk?
I guess I misunderstood you for a friend for a little while when we were never meant to get along to begin with.
I shouldn’t have acknowledged you when you showed up in my life again.
Do you know that, you bastard?”
It’s after this that MH turns really sad
the “with a touch of” without a word following in the previous comment is because I couldn’t find a good word and forgot to fix it before clicking post.
MinHo is relatable in a way even if he’s awful. It’s quite awful to be petty and upset that you didn’t get anything in return for the things you did for a person. Like in this dialogue (though I like the sincerity of it):
BY: Hey, be honest. Why are you mad at me?
MH (I think): Why are you screwing me over like this?
BY: What did I do wrong?
MH: I’m like this because it’s such a waste.
BY: What?
MH: “After Doctor Ye rejected you I spent my time listening to you vent and took you to the beach to comfort you. All the time I spent worrying about you is such a waste. After you took so much
of my precious time after you made me worry about you, you changed your mind and dated him
secretly. I find that despicable. I hate the sight of it.”
I think “secretly” is the part that I think he’s right to be angry at. And the fact that she was blind at why he was doing everything for her, she never paid him no attention. Blind that she was supposed to tell him at least about Dr Ye. She would have know she had to tell him if she was even a slight bit aware of him and him caring for her.
“It’s not a trailer though” I know the opening credits is not a trailer. I was talking about a different video. search “a poem a day trailer” you’ll see what I mean. Anyway, there’s another 5min trailer that has Dr Ye as well.
Hmmm. I just checked the regular sites non-dramafever. And they did cut it out. Interesting. I wonder who can make a gif of this dramafever version.

Same. I totally understand his reaction. I like how you interpreted it. It was a vicarious catharsis. When he was getting mad, he was speaking for us – like me who was angered by the stupid motorcycle accident/writer’s intervention.
I haven’t watched the episode but reading the dialogue (thanks!) I get the intensity and his sense of being “used” because that’s how WE felt all along. That we’ve been led on with beautiful scenes, the birthday cake, the beach, the bokeh lights 😂, the “understanding” between the two, their inside jokes.
So it’s art imitating life (our anger at the unfairness) and life imitating art (our catharsis after his full blown rant).
I wonder if he felt sad because she was telling him that she misunderstood him as a FRIEND or that she called him JERK and BASTARD.
If I were MH, I’d have walk away. What’s the point of this? Hahaha. Namwon really has a special place in this kdrama. He’s the handy bellwether of the plot narrative for MH.

I think it’s because she misunderstood him as a friend. Not how she meant him, that he was worse than a friend, but that she didn’t see he was being more than a friend. She was so quick to get dreaming about Dr. Ye after he was just being fair to her at work, defending her because she was right. She imagines Dr.Ye proposing to her but with MinHo she doesn’t even give a second thought to why he’s always by her side. Sure she asks after the hug but takes his explanation as is and never thinks about it again.
There are more powerful conversations in this episode.

After MinHo hits her with the car door and the YeLiners are see seee how the one you support is such a horrible human for hitting a girl. But he didn’t even do it on purpose. He just wanted to get away from her because she kept insisting she expected him to be happy she found love. So he opened the door in a hurry and hit her
That conversation (this happens after MinHo says “I’m like this because it’s such a waste.” and she ends up remembering the moments realizing the did spend a lot of time comforting her):
BY: Don’t be mad, Min Ho. I thought about it, and I get why you’re mad. But I misunderstood Doctor Ye.
MH: I told you to go.
BY: I got it. But isn’t it more important that I like Doctor Ye a lot…
MH: I told you to go.
Or MinHo’s conversation with Dr. Ye:
Ye: May I give you some advice? Please be polite to Doctor Woo.
MH: Pardon? Polite?
Ye: I know you two are casual with each other because you were college classmates. But this is a hospital, not a school. Doctor Woo isn’t your friend, but your senior and superior. So please have some manners. (how rude, she WAS MH’s friend even if he wouldn’t have liked her as a woman)
MH: I’m sorry, but Bo Young isn’t my senior or superior. She’s the girl I like.
Ye: What did you say?
MH: I like Bo Young. Are you wondering why I harass her? It’s because I hate the sight of it.
I hate the sight of Bo Young liking another man. I know you’re dating. I even saw the two of you with my own two eyes.
Ye: Then I won’t have to explain further. It seems like we came to a conclusion. I suggest you get over Doctor Woo.
MH: No. I can’t do that. Bo Young might not know right now, but I’m going to confess soon. I can’t accept that Bo Young is dating you. Didn’t you reject Bo Young at first? Do you know how hurt Bo Young was? But you like her now? If your mind is able to change that quickly who’s to say you won’t hurt her again?
Ye: I know how hurt she was. But you shouldn’t be the one to say that. Didn’t you reject Doctor Woo and hurt her first?
MH: What did you say?
Ye: I’ll say this again. I suggest you get over Doctor Woo. I can’t accept you having feelings for her either.
I wonder what MinHo’s “What did you say?” means. It would be a good reaction if he had a good reason to reject BoYoung like that in school.

How did he say it? Like he was confused, affronted, or haughty?
That hasn’t come up yet right? The possibility that MH had real grievances, misgivings or reasons for dumping her in college. Everybody else on the YeLine just assumed that MH was a rotten jerk to behave so callously.
But we saw that no, he’s actually a kind kid – and we had DefCon attest to that. Not just NamWon.
There was a reason he thought BY was just “faking it”. Lol. We still have THAT ace card up our sleeves then. I thought the writers would drop it since it hadn’t been mentioned again.
Hey i like that minho replying “what dis you say?” to Ye. Hmmm..seems the scenes we were shown before was misleading perhaps? Something must have happened before the scene he rejected her. Again packmule your theory is awesome. Definitely there are still cut scenes that the drama has to show us. Now i am intrigue to continue where I left off. But when i think of the kiss scene between BY and Ye…i am losing my will to watch😂

This is what’s keeping me from watching too.
I also watch on kissasian and sometimes on fb and they cut the opening there too.
Because of the “what did you say?”, I’m sure they’ll finally reveal next week his side of the story in college.
Reading this made me so so happy as a boho shipper. Thank you so much packmule! However, I’m not gonna have high hopes anymore. Personally, I think the chance for minho and by endgame is gone already since ep13. Like some of the other boho shippers, I just wanna know how the writers will make minho’s character likeable again, I hope they will, because if not, this drama might be one the dramas that has potential in the beginning but sucks towards the end.
And I still cannot bring myself to root for the yeline, not because I’m pro minho but mainly because the character yejaewook itself. I have rewatched all 14 eps, with the intention to root for the main otp but clearly I failed. And with just 2 eps left, I have an instinct that the writers might left me unsatisfied with the endings 😅

Frankly, I’m more concerned that the writer won’t be able to convince ME of a MinHo-BoYoung endgame even if he throws in everything but the kitchen sink, trying to win me over. hahahaha. Once he broke my trust with that @#$ motorcycle “accident,” it’s gone forever.

I cannot stand how awkward BY is with Ye. I told you about that Taylor Swift music, right? The Way That I Love You. Well, that Taylor Swift song could have inspired this drama.
Dr Ye is sensible and so incredible
And all my single friends are jealous
He says everything I need to hear and it’s like
I couldn’t ask for anything better
He opens up my door and I get into his car
And he says, you look beautiful tonight
And I feel perfectly fine….
Boyoung would never feel the depth, the breadth and height of love with Ye because he’s frankly one of the most boring male leads characters I’ve seen. Even his backstory was a – yawn – cliché.
