Memories of the Alhambra: On Bug NPC Marco

I said I wasn’t going to answer anymore question on the game logic, but okay, I’ll answer this one @soumya vishnu’s question and that’s it.

I am a new reader of your site, so sorry if I missed this earlier: my question is, if the game can be reset only if all bugs are killed, then what happened to Marco the bug (the NPC that keeps appearing to SJ). It sounds like the bugs can be killed only with the special key, so if JW didn’t kill Marco, then who could have killed him for the game to be completely reset? To me, this is the biggest plot hole that I can’t get over (I can even accept that by some fluke, JW’s physical body is trapped in some limbo state, but how can they claim the game is reset if March the bug was not killed?). Curious to know your take on this.

************

We weren’t shown how NPC Marco disappeared. All Sejoo said was Marco disappeared so he got out of his dungeon.

However, since we’re smart bitches over here, we can put on our thinking caps and, to borrow Jinwoo’s words, come up with our own “crazy delusional” logic.

This is my answer.

Let’s suppose:
Seejoo = master
And master has all these items, bug, and .EXE files associated with him:
master1 = sword
master2 = gun
master3 = NPC Marco
master4 = thunderstorm.exe
master5 = Memories of the Alhambra guitar.exe

Jinwoo = Zinu
And Zinu has all these items, bugs, and .EXE files linked to him:
Zinu1 = sword
Zinu2 = gun
Zinu3 = another gun
Zinu4 = machine gun
Zinu5 = NPC Hyunsuk
Zinu6 = NPC Sec Seo
Zinu7 = NPC Prof Cha
Zinu8 = Key to Heaven
Zinu9 = thunderstorm.exe
Zinu10 = Memories of the Alhambra guitar.exe
Zinu11 = special item: Breitling watch
Zinu12 = special item: candle lighter
and so on

We know that Seejoo and Jinwoo are NOT the same persons, right?
And master and Zinu are NOT the same identities, right?

However, when Jinwoo completed the mission, he became the master. According to Sejoo, “If Mr. Yoo Jinwoo was the Master…the reward of the quest was becoming the Master. That means he could have been the Master. You never know. Just like me…he could be alive somewhere.”

If Jinwoo = master
then Seejoo ≠ master.

To me, the software program SAVED OVER Seejoo’s files. Jinwoo’s Zinu files were saved over Seejoo’s files when Jinwoo became the master.

Kinda like what happened when this child saved over his dad’s game. lol. All his dad’s records, items, wins/loses went bye-bye. His dad was understandably upset but what could he do? Done is done.

Or when I used to save over my original doc file because I forgot to rename my new doc file.

Do you get it? Do you see how it works?

So, my bitch logic: When Jinwoo/Zinu became the master, Sejoo’s files were overwritten and everything that belonged to him, his items, his executable files, INCLUDING his NPC Marco, were lost. Erased. Deleted. Gone. Sejoo was able to return to the normal world even before the game was rebooted because Jinwoo had taken over his place in the game.

  4. Thanks, Oli. What are you watching nowadays?

    I’m waiting for “Items” but there doesn’t seem to be any good romcoms lately. Will watch “W” Ep 1 tonight.

  5. What was the mission he completed then? Just returning the key? But the second time around he deletes his bugs and then Emma deletes him so that grants him as the new master? What?! No. Doesn’t make sense. There’s no point to being in instance dungeon if there’s no danger. Just because his ID is gone doesn’t mean his body should be too. And if that’s the case that’s a bug they need to fix as well.

  6. No, Yoyow. That’s not how it works in this Bitch’s blog. Kindly read my multiple posts explaining the mission and the bugs so you’ll get the whole picture BEFORE complaining that it doesn’t make sense to you.

    To me and the other readers who took the time to read my gazillion posts with comprehension, it’s 97.86789% logical. But YOU are free to make sense of the story YOURSELF and then come back here and explain your take on it if you wish.

    Don’t take out your frustration with the kdrama here in this blog.
