Love O2O: Ep 23 Trusting Weiwei

I took a lot of screenshots of this scene so I might as well post it separately.

Besides, I’ve to post this eyebrow wiggling gif for @agdr03 and this is as good an excuse as any.

Nai didn’t even wait till he got home to challenge Cao to a duel. Outside Weiwei’s apartment, he went online and retrieved Cao’s phone number.

Cao: Hello, who’s this?
Nai: I’m Xiao Nai.

Cao: Xiao Nai? How did you get my number?
Nai: (sounding like a mafia boss) I have my ways. (I bet $10, he hacked the phone company. lol. Unlike KO who would know to secure his number, Cao wouldn’t go to great lengths for privacy.)

Cao: You want to show off your great powers?
Nai: I want solve the problems that you’ve created. I’ll see you at the school basketball court at 10 pm tonight.

The whole time Nai issued his challenge he kept his eyes closed. To me, that suggested that he was exasperated with Cao for thinking this was just a “courtesy call” and was trying hard to suppress his anger. Cao probably thought Nai called to harass him when Nai actually called to get him to fix the problem HE had caused for Weiwei.

He was already at the court shooting hoops when Cao arrived.

Nai: You’re late.
Cao: It’s already good enough that I came.

Nai eyed him with scorn and tossed the basketball at him.ย  Too bad it didn’t smash Cao’s face.

As to expected, Nai trashed him but then again, Cao didn’t put up much of fight anyway. I guess Cao knew that he was there to be taught a lesson by Nai.

Nai: If you still don’t have a clear idea of the situation, then you’re not worthy of being called the talented guy of the foreign language department.

Nai was too kind. Only a conceited moron would cling to his belief that he was the wronged party despite being already being told by Weiwei herself that he misidentified her.

Cao: What is Bei Weiwei’s username?
Nai: You don’t need to know that.

Good job, Nai. You NEVER EVER “dox” or reveal, public, and spread private and identifying information about a specific person online with malicious intent.

A couple of months ago, I was furious when prominent leftist personalities in American media, politics, and entertainment doxxed a Catholic high school student. Google “Covington Catholic high school student.” I expected more from these adults and their hatred for a certain American president is warping their sensibilities and perverting their mission. Sadly, they’ve become what they profess to hate.

Nai: You don’t need to know that. But it’s not the one you thought it was.

He confirmed that Weiwei’s username isn’t Huantian Xidi (Awww… It’s translated as “Joyful Xi” in Kissasian.)

Cao: Then who is Huantian Xidi/Joyful Xi?
Nai: I didn’t come here today to clear your confusion. Meng YiRan’s roommate recorded the video. I want you to resolve it as soon as possible. I don’t ever want to hear any hurtful rumors about Weiwei.

Aha! I found a gif! Credit: owner

Remember in the videotape, Cao was accusing Weiwei of leading him on online and two-timing him while she was dating Nai offline. “We’re a couple in the game. But in real life, she’s with Xiao Nai. Doesn’t it (their relationship) count if it’s in a game? If it’s in a game, you can just toy with someone’s feelings?”

As Nai walked off the court, he had one more advice for Cao.

Nai: And as a man, don’t make two girls pay for your stupidity with their friendship.

Cao: After watching the video, you never doubted Bei Weiwei? You trust her that much?
Nai: Why wouldn’t I trust my girlfriend?

And he walked away.

Left alone, Cao recalled what Weiwei had said earlier that afternoon when they accidentally met at their pupil’s house. Weiwei said, “In the past, you said you liked me but you kept slandering me and questioning my character again and again. Is that what you call liking someone?”

I like the image here of Cao being trapped or imprisoned by his own vigilantism. He rushed to judge Weiwei, just like he did in Episode 1, when he spotted her getting out of a luxury car. Both times, he got it wrong. Without ascertaining facts or even questioning that perhaps he misconstrued things (cough, cough. The Covingtonย  doxxers), he condemned innocent people like Weiwei and Erxi. He’s stupid as they come.

  1. the things that make me hard to watch this drama, was the female lead suck at kiss scene lol.
while yang yang so good at it, so its hard to see chemistry, when i feel he kiss statue.
i would recommend you to watch ten miles to peach blossoms movie, i love the story, i love the melo chemistry between yang yang with crystal liu

  2. Hey, there, long time no hear!!

I disagree, lovebangwon. She was NOT supposed to kiss well. I’ve been slowly reading the book and the actress is following the writer’s intention. It might not be what the audience wants but the character is played according to how the director AND THE WRITER intended. So I side with them.

    My 2 cents.

I haven’t completed the movie but that character portrayal there by actress Angelababy, although she agrees with and conforms to my “Western” expectations and sensibilities, IS NOT what the writer intended. Angelababy’s interpretation is her own prerogative, of course. But her Weiwei isn’t how I would envision the novel Weiwei to be performed.

lol. If I’ve time I’ll do a character analysis of the book too and prove my point but I doubt I’ve sufficient time for that now that I’m going to start watching the Psychometric drama and the Hong sisters’ drama.

So, nope, according me, Zheng Shuang’s Weiwei >>>> Angelababe’s Weiwei. And you can quote me on this. hahaha.

  3. no problem sister. we have different opinion.. i still visit your blog religiously as silent reader and cant leave comment bcs i dont watch some of drama you love.kekeke

but i still cant enjoy the romantic part bcs the statue kiss lol. because yang yang working hard on it even on the last ep, the girl still same -.- relationship need to level up :p

the movie version of this drama i dont watch it.

my only fav yang yang movie only ten miles to peach blossoms. not familiar with chinesse actors actresses.. just randomly watching ten miles to peach blossoms and that how i know yang yang.
in the past i used to be fan of c-drama and taiwan drama, and movie too. long before i started watching kdrama in 2004.

btw, now we watching same drama, he is psychometric. i love the mystery part in this drama. cant survive without your blog post about this kekekeke <3

  4. hahaha. So you’re watching this, too, eh?

Let’s see. Our Siwan is finishing up his military service so if his project is good, we might end up watching that together, too. I think I’m passing up L’s (or Kim Myungsoo of Infinite) next’project. Am not too wild about his leading lady. I’m shallow so I like to see cute/pretty faces when I’m watching drama for 16+ hours.

  5. i alr read 5 ep from the webtoon strangers from hell siwan upcoming drama, still not sure about the story yet. the lead is living on rented small apartement with some strangers neighbor. im sure it will lead to mystery and thriller plot.

my complaint after reading 5 ep from webtoon was…. no romance.. almost all his project, there is no loveline that lead to happy end lol even on tkil.

  6. Thank you for my eye wriggling gif of my Yang Yang! ๐Ÿ˜œ

I think there’s about 2 wriggling scenes in Love O2O ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s the one where he says there’s no money but you can take the man and the one at the resort while WeiWei was eating chicken. hehehe

It’s amazing at what Dashen can do just so he can help WeiWei with her Erxi and Cao issue. This is without resorting to violence too. I really admire him for doing it without even WeiWei knowing about it. He’s a very sensible person and a very caring boyfriend. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Did you see the body gifs of Park JinYoung that I found for you, too? See? I got your back, @agdr03. hahaha

I remember his eyebrows (What’s this? Why are we reduced to talking about eyebrows??) when Weiwei was eating chicken. I’ve to rewatch that scene with the “no money, take the man instead.”

  8. Of course I saw the body gifs of JinYoung. That wonโ€™t escape me ๐Ÿ˜‚ My eyes really appreciated it ๐Ÿ˜ Thanks for having my back! You really know me very well. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜˜

Yes please, watch that scene when their in the sofa just resting looking like a normal married couple ๐Ÿ˜Š

  9. I just rewatched Ep 25 for my highlights. There was a scene where I was shaking my head at how innocent and pure Weiwei was. Nai was spending the night with her at his place again bec his parentsโ€™ house got flooded. Nai was working on his laptop on the couch and she was reading in bed. And she mused, years from now, this is how weโ€™d look like. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ Really? Somebody should tell her (and the writer) that itโ€™s F.U.N. to be together in bed with your hubby. It doesnโ€™t have to be sex all the time. Just the physical contact is fun. And the companionship.

Like resting your head on his chest. Warming your cold toes on his warm legs. Listening to music. Fighting over the blanket. And waiting for him to wake up.

  10. I know right? She floored the innocent bit of her character ๐Ÿ™‚

Maybe she actually learned about it while she was staying in Nai’s house because in episode 30 they were both in bed and Nai asked her about his voluntary control degree. After that he hugged her while she was laying down. I love those type of hugs! ๐Ÿ˜

  11. The Pepsi commercial actually made me sad. ๐Ÿ™

Leaving her son behind and Yang Yang (!!) to go on a space mission? That would be tough.

But what was tougher to watch was the astronaut/wife’s hairstyle. Like what the heck did they do to her hair?? Butcher it?? Just because she was wearing a dorky helmet didn’t mean she could look disheveled. If I were going on a space mission for months, you betcha I’d have my hair done before take-off. For the photo-ops. I would want my husband to have a “glamour shot” of me on the bedside table, especially if he was a chick-magnet. hahaha.

  12. IIRC, according to the novel, she moved in with him towards the latter part of her senior year in college.

But I might be getting this confused with something else…

  13. ๐Ÿ˜„ I noticed it too and I was like ‘what the?’. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ She could have had her real hair for all we care because she’s going to wear the helmet anyway hahahah

I wonder when we’ll have another Yang Yang series to watch? There’s a few Chinese dramas coming out from what I saw in ig and I’m checking which one is interesting. The couple has to grab me first though ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Isn’t there like another online gaming drama with him as the lead character?

I tried watching a Cdrama on netflix… A Love So Beautiful. I don’t know who thought it was a good idea to cast this actress. Absolutely unattractive. Zero sex appeal. Looked like midget beside him and the guy looked like a molester: a twenty year old dating a 10 year old.

The story would have been tolerable but the actress was a miscast.

  15. hahaha I actually watched and finished that whole series. The actress is plain yes but I have seen her in Meteor Garden 2018 and she had chemistry with the male lead there so I didn’t mind her in this one. But the male lead had a sex/cheating video scandal where he even said there that she was ugly and it turned me off him big time. He’s got a new show coming soon though. Pity because I thought he was not bad but it turned out he was bad for real. hehehe

I have to search that online gaming drama for my Yang Yang. I haven’t heard of it.
