He’s Psychometric: Ep 5 The Vision

I’m posting Lee Ahn’s vision when he got stabbed separately so you can comment on the images as you please. Let the good theories roll.

1. Stalker’s been watching Hyung. He knows that Kang Sungmo and Lee Ahn moved to a more “secured” place.

Whoa! Can you imagine when they were living in that rooftop home? The stalker had free access to that place. The only reason he didn’t poison Hyung and Lee Ahn was that he needed Sungmo to know where the mother was.

2. Watching from the delivery truck

Really! I dislike it when I see evil characters wear black hats, black mask, and black outfit. Can’t they just blend in with the crowd and be a little less sinister-looking?

3. Dungeon-like metal gate, complete with chain.

4. Seems like a light shining through a window on the right side of the picture, and somebody holding a book on the left side of the picture.

5. Somebody holding a big book with little stickies.

Does this look like the dictionary Sungmo was reading?

6. Close-up shot.

7. Sungmo entering through the gates.

Where is this place? The orphanage?

8. Sungmo after his graduation?

9. Stalker in his full disguise watching Sungmo from afar.

10. Sungmo’s face as a kid.

11. Another image of Sungmo’s face. Does he look frightened?

12. Huh? Who’s this girl? Doesn’t she look like Jisoo?? She has bangs like the adult Jisoo. The young Jaein and the older Jaein don’t sport bangs.

13. I think the killer has a tic. He tugs the left side of his jacket collar.

14. Another view of ?? I think she’s young Jisoo. But what is the stalker doing with Jisoo? lol. Don’t tell me Jisoo’s dad is involved here.

15. Dark picture of the stalker (I think it’s the killer/stalker) going down to the dungeon.

Was he the one who chained Sungmo or was he the one who found Sungmo chained? I’ve no doubt that the stalker is a bad man (hey! he stabbed and killed people!) but we have to be careful accusing him of crimes we didn’t actually witness.

16. Stalker eyes.

17. One of the many shots of the explosions.

Noteworthy: no images of the nursing home fire.

18. Young Sungmo and young Lee Ahn falling

19. The crowd is aghast

20. The stalker was watching. lol. See? I wrote earlier that he didn’t leave the place, and police should have taken the CCTVs in the parking lot.

21. The man in the black hat

*Noteworthy: There was no picture of Sungmo being chained in the bathroom in the stalker’s memories. Sungmo had recollection of being chained in the bathroom but not the stalker.

Later, while Lee Ahn was recalling his vision and wondering who that stalker was and why that stalker was after his Hyung, his Hyung was in the subway station contemplating the throng of people entering and exiting the train.

How would YOU interpret this scene from Episode 5 then?

I thought this was neat use of cinematography from the director of Hwayugi, Kim ByungSo to communicate the main point of the story.

To me, it means that no matter how hard Sungmo tries to lose himself in the crowd — to be faceless in that crowd — that stalker of his will always spot him and go after him and his loved ones like Lee Ahn.

Why? Because the stalker is after his mom.

I think that poster with a house on fire calls to mind the fire at the YungSung apartment. The stalker wants to know where his mom disappeared after that fire 11 years ago, but access to that information is restricted. That part of his life is a “restricted area.” Nobody will ever find where his mom is because Sungmo’s hiding it.

Neat, huh?

  1. Howdy! 🙂

Thanks for this! This is a lot of information to go by and ponder on. I’ll read up on the other posts.

I think that young girl is Jisoo.

I think too that Hyung knows that he is being followed that’s why he is eyeing the crowd of people in the subway.

True about the evil guy always wearing black everything. LOL!

  2. Do you also think it’s Jisoo?

Exciting, right? If that’s indeed Jisoo, then perhaps the stalker is in the police force, too. Because look at the young Jisoo in the “visual”. She’s directly SMILING at the stalker. 🙂

    hahaha. The plot thickens!

  3. I think it is her.

Yes, it is exciting! You’re probably right that the stalker is from the Police force too, that’s the connection to her Dad. As to how it’s connected we will see.

    Interesting! ☺️

  4. LA’s dad is part of the Police force too. And JiSoo’s dad was promoted to Superintendent after being in the Apartment Fire case. Also PD made it a point that when JiSoo spoke up about the similarities between the 2 cases in the Police meeting briefing, camera panned to JiSoo’s dads clasped hands and they shook briefly? It was quick but it was deliberate so he’s definitely hiding something 🙂

  5. Yes, I was going to write about that scene in Ep 1 when Jisoo and her dad had a clash of opinion on the Yungsung Apartment fire case.

I don’t think Ji Soo’s dad is the stalker (wrong eyes and ears). Besides he doesn’t need to stalk SungMo when he can see SungMo everyday at work.

But according to Dr. Hong (Ep 4), the stalker/killer must have a special skill set because he hasn’t been careless/identified yet (i.e., leaving prints at the crime scene). Plus he knew how to do a surveillance w/o being noticed, kinda like the police. (i.e., pretending to be the Fed-Ex guy, bugging the place)

It would be funny if all of the parents served in the police force: Lee Ahn’s dad, Jisoo’s dad, and now probably even Sungmoo’s dad.

Jaein’s dad was a firefighter but her boss is a policeman, too.

  6. Agree @nrllee ! Jisoo’s Dad is hiding something too. His promotion was very quick per Hyung’s statement back in episode 4.

I wonder what LA’s Dad’s connection is to Jisoo’s Dad if ever there is any.

  7. It would be funny if all of the parents served in the police force: Lee Ahn’s dad, Jisoo’s dad, and now probably even Sungmoo’s dad.

Did you just dropped another clue here? LOL!

  8. I did.

It’s not a clue. More like a hunch.

You see when the young Lee Ahn came bounding out of their apartment with the police badge and the handcuffs, I thought “What a weird combination to highlight, director!” And then, in the elevator, when young Lee Ahn was carried, too, the camera focused on the badge and the handcuffs left on the floor.

His dad was a good guy. But what if Jisoo’s dad is the opposite. Meaning, he’s cop and he’s NOT a good guy.

Also, that’ll explain why Sungmoo and his mother never filed a restraining order on the dad (if there’s such a thing as a restraining order in the Korea at that time).

And that’ll explain, too, why he’d walk down the corridor with a body in the suitcase (and the other building) AS COOL AS CUCUMBER. Like, what the heck?? He wasn’t scared to be caught with a dead body? But of course, nobody would suspect a police officer to be hauling a dead body with him, right? lol.

But anyway, this is just my gut feel. There’s nothing in the story to support my crazy idea anyway so feel free to ignore it. In fact, if Sungmo’s father was a policeman and he’s known to be alive, then why didn’t he say something, or at least protest, when Sungmo identified the “wrong” body as his mother’s. So let’s wait and see.

  9. I’m very curious to know how Seongmo and Jisoo’s friendship came to be. He’s mentioned before that they are childhood friends so Jisoo is probably intertwined somewhere in his tormented childhood.

P/S: I’ve been suspecting Jisoo’s dad too, mostly because he’s more keen on closing the case quickly than actually solving it.

  10. We’ll probably find out in this week’s episodes how they became friends.

I don’t think Sungmo directly mentioned that he and Jisoo were “childhood” friends. He just mentioned in Episode 1 when asked by his big boss, “Do you two know each other?”

At the time, I thought the boss meant Sungmo and the Police Commissioner. But instead, Sungmo answered that he knew Det Eun for a long time. “I’ve known her a long time.” I didn’t know if the error was deliberate or not or he opted to cite his relationship the Police Commissioner’s DAUGHTER instead of the Commissioner himself to avoid professional impropriety.

I brought this whole thing about Jisoo and Sungmo’s unknown backstory because of the vision of the young girl in the stalker’s memories. I thought it looked like Jisoo but right now, as of Episode 6, we don’t really know who that young girl is.

    😀

I think Jisoo’s dad might be guilty of something (probably, too ambitious to move up the professional ladder quickly) but I don’t think he’s the stalker.

  11. Yup it was definitely highlighted, LA’s Dad’s police badge while he was holding it going to the elevator and in the elevator. Yes, I think Jisoo’s Dad is not a good cop as such.

Makes perfect sense on the explanation on Sungmo’s Dad being a police and how he can commit the murders without being noticed.

In fact, if Sungmo’s father was a policeman and he’s known to be alive, then why didn’t he say something, or at least protest, when Sungmo identified the “wrong” body as his mother’s. So let’s wait and see.

Maybe he was not working as a policeman anymore and that he knows that Sungmo will do everything to keep his Mother away from him including identifying the wrong body.

Amazing how this show is making our minds work, well yours especially. 🙂

I really do like the group of actors and actresses here. This is my first time watching them and I’m happy to watch this drama even if there won’t be any kisses anytime soon. LOL! Maybe first kiss will happen in episode 12? Just guessing! hehehe
