I’m still in Quebec City. It’s hard to care about Sungmo’s plight when everywhere, I see lot of Asian tourists doing the Goblin city tours. That kdrama wasn’t perfect too but it has spawned a tourism industry in this otherwise quiet city. The other guests in my hotel don’t understand why crowds are congregating around that mailbox by the elevator and taking pictures of it.
But I know, so I just smile and take another elevator to go up to my room.

Like you, I don’t expect another plot twist/reversal at this point. Inasmuch as I wish that Sungmo didn’t kill those women and start the fire, I want the time and energy, in this final episode, to be focused on our couple, Jaein and Lee Ahn. I’ve enough of the junk coming from Sungmo’s past. I want Happy Moments now.
Admittedly, I find the plot convoluted and improbable. It didn’t make sense that young Sungmo went on a killing spree and blew up the whole floor, just to pin the murder and arson on his father. It would have been more efficient to just murder his dad. lol. He was a juvenile, and he could claim self-defense. If ever there was jail time, he would have been out when he was 18.
But what can we do? The writer chose to go down this tortuous route.
One more episode and this kdrama won’t be my circus anymore.
Again, my non-negotiables are:
1. Jaein and Lee Ahn live.
2. Jaein and Lee Ahn stay as a couple.
3. Jaein’s dad is freed and lives long enough to see grandkids.
All the other characters are the writer’s flying monkeys sent to heap unnecessary angst and pain on us.

I wanted to nominate Park Jinyoung as boyfriend of the week but since we got so little romance in the last 6 episodes and more thriller, I can’t now.
no kiss, but he brought big apartement and asked her to start living together, with jaein dad too..he is the sweetest and adorable boyfriend.
at least we got ours happy ending by seeing lee ahn and jaein happy life.
and sungmo and his dad both stuck in prison.
wew sungmo the killer ah, oh well. idk if there was any intention to suggest him being the killer since the start or it was just pure coincidence (*shrugs*) but during all the stabbing scenes, they always gave extra screentime to the part where the first lady would grab the figurine of Virgin Mary with her bloodied hands – and coincidentally SeongMo, his name in Korean I believe refers to that too, so idk it was probably a big hint that he was the killer?
and I never understood why he couldn’t just, kill the dad.
nope, sadly there were no kisses, just a lot of “hand holding”, which was still very, sweet.

Yeah that ending was pedestrian 🙄. It didn’t make a lot of sense? To kill the first time okay maybe a desperate move on SM’s part but to do it again at HanMin? (At least I assume so – haven’t watched). Serial killer. 😕 Those poor ladies. Or was that his dad? But he said when he arrived the ladies were already dead so it was SM who killed them to pin the killings on his dad again? 😐 Poor mom has to live on (I assume she didn’t die), knowing her son turned out to be a bigger monster than her captor?
Han Min wasn’t SM but his dad. If SM had killed a second time it would have made him just as bad as his father. Like this, at least he’s human. He felt remorse, guilt, fear. He wanted Ahn to find the truth, he was ok with going to jail as soon as his father was not a threat anymore.
I think I like the story as it is. It makes more sense that SM kept the apartment killings a secret if he was the murderer. He couldn’t let himself go to jail with his father free searching for his mum.

I genuinely enjoyed this drama and it’s character. Although, I wished the writing toward the end was better. I don’t have any issue with the ending in itself but it’s the way everything was executed that I found a bit baffling and unrealistic.
I didn’t like what were Seungmo’s reasons for the murder of these three woman. This guy is smart so why would he kill more people in order to frame his dad who doesn’t own any identity while he knew already that his non existence within the society was an issue. And why would he carry out his dad’s plan, the guy he hates so much The logic behind his actions was explained but I stil don’t get it.
Anyway, I discovered thanks to this drama, Park Jin young (Got7 as well) and others actors (playing Ji soo and seugmo). Hence, it’s okay. It was a fun and unexpected ride. 💕

It’s finished. JaeIn and Lee Anh will live together with her Dad, Lee Anh did his exam to be a police officer, Sungmo was sentenced to 13 years prison, his Dad was sentenced to death, his Mom started her new life, Daebong/Soyeon and Aunty/Detective Nam are together.
Sungmo said he started to feel guilty straight after killing the ladies and setting the fire, that’s why he saved LA and helped JaeIn. I just liked that he listened to his Mom and accepted his punishment.
I won’t bother being upset anymore about the ending especially as there was NO KISS 🙄 but I want to say that this casting was perfect for this drama. I have a new found fondness for all the actors here including the kids. I will always watch out for JinYoung because he made me appreciate him. 😍

I’m excited to see what’s in store for Park JinYoung. For me, this was his break-out role. Hmmm… I’m seriously considering shelving either Yoon Doojoon or Ok Taecyeon to make way for him in my Top Four Actor-Idols. 😈
Acting-wise, PJY is a much better actor than his “sunbae,” Ok Taecyeon but Taec is a good guy, so he’s on my list. 😂 There’s no room now to play favorites….
The no-kiss ending must have been disappointing but I’m glad PJY’s fans weren’t against the kiss but were actually looking forward to it. 😂 I don’t want to see PJY’s fans becoming jealous and acting possessive anyway. He has a future in dramas and more kissing (instead of less) will be required of him. 😘

As long as my non-negotiables happened, I don’t mind. My worst fear, to tell you the truth, was that Sungmo might try to steal Jaein from Lee Ahn at the very last episode. 😂 Since he was going dark, I was concerned that he’d lost all sense of decency and steal her.
Just read the director’s interview he answered why the red and yellow / pink and light yellow. When Ahn and Jaein first met the color was more intense (red and yellow) and when their relationships deepen the color became pastels (pink and light yellow). After Ahn read Jaein with the red and yellow umbrellas, it symbolizes their relationship had gone back to the beginning and their minds about each other were closed.
As a fan of Jinyoung I demand more passionate kissing! Lollll Ahn and Jaein is way too cute to not kiss but hey they are going to start living together so 😈 Also I am happy with his kissing skill so far but definitely rooms to improve hahaha
I have seen almost all his past work but they were all short films/web dramas or characters that have very little screen time nor depth, or just as the lead’s childhood. I was excited to see him finally being in a 16 episode role (not to mention lead, just as a regular drama role) for the first time but also a bit worried. Still was very surprised by his performance even was being extra tough on him lol
Lots of his fans are hoping his next role can be a villain, a psychopath, a sociopath, smart, cold hearted, creepy, calm, serial killer, etc. lol He has a lot of potential in those characters with his eyes, especially. We have seen him in a short film (commercial film) as a high school gangster but his eyes can turn real cold (so as ep10 when his eyes changed right after Jaein said she trusts her dad not being the killer).
But he might wait for awhile cos he normally wants to focus on the group’s activities and they are having a world tour and Japan tour soon. That’s why his past work was 2 years ago and he did so few acting projects cos they are never in Korea for long.

I wanted passionate kissing scene too with JaeIn but the director couldn’t even give us that. I thought JaeIn could have kissed him right after he said let’s live together. Sigh. He amazed me with his crying scenes, I cried with him a couple of times. Anyway, I’m not sure I want him to play a pscho or a serial killer, he’s too cute for me. 😄 True, we might have to wait awhile before he does another drama but all good, I can wait. 😉

Just finished it with engsub last night, it is such a bittersweet story.. there are few things could be better of course, and i really hope we could get more of a happy candy couple screen time, but everything they did and said in this episode was soo sweet (the holding hands, the move in together proposal (everything Ian and Jaein said here is just cuuttee), how Jaein asked Ian not to touch corpse again, the picnic scene is also cute (they look gorgeous am crying). agree with you @agdr03, she could have hug and kissed him after his proposal, and he could have kissed her after the backhug instead of looking out the window (writernim please, lol), also after she saved him from the death she could have hugged him, but maybe she’s too shocked and relieved that her boyfriend is alive..
I bawled seeing how hurt Ian was when police arrested Seongmo, and he can really portrays how he is deeply hurt by him but still have some fondness too towards him throughout the episode (not being biased, but bravo Park Jinyoung!).
For Jinyoung next project, i would prefer a less stressful heartbroken drama, maybe like a doctor series, or something like the movie “21” or Ocean’s series, or “W”, or even a REAL romcom drama (you know HIP was introduced as a romcom drama with thriller, but #duh it’s a straight lie).
And continuing @peachietime post, GOT7 will having a comeback this 20 May followed by a world tour starting on 15 June (idk how Jinyoung could squeeze these in his schedule tbh, last day of HIP filming was on 30 April), but we dont know the countries yet, previous world tour didnt have Australia stop sadly, but i hope they will include Australia this time (and my country too please). If they come and you could see them, please do, it’s super worth it, last year they sang more or less 30 songs each stop, although i think this time would be a more of a fanmeeting tour where they’ll have more games & interactions with their fans, but i sure you, their live performance is good.
And @packmule3, thank you for all the reviews and discussions here, it was a really fun and a knowledge gaining time for me. Btw they mentioned about the Titian Painting in this episode 16, because i’ve read about it here, i knew what Seomgmo means when he asked Jaein to deliver the message to Ian, haha.. Safe trip back home!
Just read a recent interview from Jinyoung and i think i want to share about it a bit here since almost all of you likes them too:

I just wanted to chime in and say that what ended up creeping me out the most through the drama was finding out in the last ep that the ENTIRE reason why Sungmo’s dad did what he did was b/c Sungmo’s mom suggested a name for him. That was the trigger. I got goosebumps. And I’ve seen so many crime/thriller dramas and movies by this point that it’s hard to give me goosebumps anymore.

GOT7 is coming here! 😍 How exciting! But the question of whether I’m able to get a ticket is valid because I witnessed the SM Town concerts? Different KPop groups in 1 concert, and the masses are huge. I didn’t watch them but My Uncle and his daughter from Melbourne went here to Sydney just to watch them. They booked their hotel near Qudos Bank Arena and I’m blown away by the crowds. Almost all are teenagers 😂

@agdr03 I am in Sydney. But I am not a GOT7 fan. And frankly even if EXO were to come by I am not one to dash out to their concert. I am not a fan of crowds and I don’t fancy leaving a venue with my ears ringing coz I can’t control the volume button 😂. My younguns on the other hand revel in the fact that they have screamed themselves hoarse and are partially deaf for the rest of the night (that’s what a ‘good’ concert is in their speak).
I witnessed the frenzy firsthand when my eldest wanted Ed Shereen tickets. I swear every single device in the home was on that ticket site as soon as it was open and even then he missed out on tickets first round. Just as well Ed decided to extend it to another 3(?) nights and my son managed to get tickets on the 2nd night.
Don’t let my preferences stop you from going to the GOT7 concert though. Hope you find another friend to share your joy. Maybe convince hubby and make it a date night? And do share pics! 🙂

He always follows through. He doesn’t make empty promises or just talk about ‘dreams’. I like that intentionality about him. Not sure about specialty – I think either Korean or Japanese cuisine but he does Gordon Ramsay recipes too. He puts me to shame 😂.
Here he is in their recent variety show cooking up a storm for the rest of the EXO members from scratch with no recipe to follow (just made it up). He really is a strange little thing in the Kpop idol world, an oddball – and I like strange. 😂

@agdr03 There were 5 of them that went. The article missed out on Bae SungWoo. They have an actors support mentor-mentee thing going so he hangs out with them as much as he can. He’s an old soul anyway so he fits right in. He looks happy and rested.
