  1. Sorry! I didn’t see this thread before I made my comment 😄

    Episode 4 it is!

    Join us! 😃

    Bring it on! 🙌🏻

  2. hahaha. I just edited it for you.

Your call. Do you want 4 or 2? Just tell me, and I’ll get ready. 🙂

  3. I’m laughing here 😂 Sorry again 😆

    Let’s do episode 4 please. 😁

  4. okey-dokey!

  5. Thanks! 😎

  6. I’m here, agdr03!

I see now why she was drooling while he was writing. Unconsciously seeing him write reminded her of her “Big Brother” Ji Heng teaching her how to write.

Do you know what he wrote down here? We have to ask somebody who reads Chinese.

  7. Here too! 🥂

Squeal! That look when they were writing together 🥰🥰🥰

I prefer the Impudence! 😡 rather than How Dare You?! 😂

  8. You know, I’ve been looking for this very scene! I’m glad we’re doing the rewatch.

JH: Why are you smiling at me?
    TQ: You’re so handsome. Silly.
    JH: Impudence.

One, this must be the second time she was mesmerized by his looks.
Two, but this was the first time we heard him say “Impudence!” right?

We’re counting how many times he said this, right, agdr03?

  9. Oh I forgot to say that I liked the way he took that belt off 😂

It’s great connection to her imagination 😂

  10. Agree. I like “Impudence” better than “How dare you!”

The Viki version, “How dare you!” isn’t as imperative and arrogant as Youtube subber’s “Impudence!”

  11. Oh yes! We’re counting alright!

Impudence! I’ll never forget this word now 😁

Yes! First time she found him handsome was when she was doing the medicine, episode 2, I think.

  12. That was so extra, though.

    He removed with a flourish.

But you’re right. This must have been her imagination. lol.

  13. Oh! the flower!

She didn’t want him to kill off the flower. Was it again? Azaleas?

But she was fine if he plucked off the chrysanthemums. Aren’t chrysanthemums the symbol of nobility in China?

  14. This is my fave costume on him , the second one is the red paterns on white.

Funny how he said I’ll help you find the killer, ah you’re the one that really wants the killer because you need to report to the emperor in 2 weeks 😂

  15. It’s funny that he really wanted to use Tian Qi as bait. lol. After watching Ep 22, yes, I must agree with TQ. She was too lenient with him.

Oh! Here’s the first excuse he had for keeping her beside him. He told her to be his personal doctor and serve at his side.

  16. She just said because it had lots more petals 😂

Look at her clapping after JH said Mr Sheng will tell everyone that you’re my physician now. It’s so fake. 😂

  17. That’s why Mr. Sheng didn’t trust her. hahaha.

  18. See that? She covers her ears when she’s pleading with him, “My lord, I’ve realized my mistake! Please don’t punish me like that.”

And then she noticed that she was only angering him more so she immediately stopped.

I’m guessing that covering her ears was a character trait that the actress improvised on her own.

  19. He is one smart cookie 😁 But you got to give it to JH, he gave her a break, shock of using her as bait. I guess 😂

Yes! First excuse until we get to her arrow shooting.

  20. You’re right! I love this blue outfit on him.

And the white one with the tree embroidery.

BTW, thanks for sharing that BTS about the costumes. I didn’t know that the Ji Heng’s green outfit was for dating??

So what is this blue costume for? Regal decisions?

  21. Agree. TQ is cute when she covers her ear as a gesture. 😁 It suits Sun Qian.

Yes, I feel she did it for the character.

    Aunty Hong is pretty 😍

  22. Xiuyi?
    Xiuchun?

This Dr. Ding has too many girlfriends, I can’t keep track of the names because they all start with X.

I’m glad that this doctor stayed with TQ till the end. He was a loyal friend after all.

  23. But doesn’t Aunty Hong’s tattoo on her forehead bother you?

My hands are itching to wash it off.

  24. Welcome 😊

He said that every costume matches the scenes. The green one was when he was flying a kite with TQ. The white ones with blue patterns was for boat ride etc

Not sure about his blue one but you’re probably right. 😊

  25. Awwww. The fireworks.

Ah! This is what you meant about the masks! Thanks agdr03.

JH: She had to make me buy her a mask. She was so young she didn’t know what the mask meant.
JZ: You mean the tradition that unmarried people put on masks standing beneath the fireworks and sky lanterns confide themselves to their loved ones?

He liked her because she never saw him as the privileged son of the great jiedushi (general??)

But it’s interesting that it was Ji Zheng who played around with the mask when they were grownup. He teased Tian Qi and pretended to be the flower god, didn’t he? hahaha.

  26. Yes. Dr Ding was loyal too. 😊 I’ll never be able to memorise them because of what you said, all of it start with Xiu 😄

I didn’t notice that that was a tattoo 😱 I thought it was part of her make up 😆

  27. Okay, this horseback riding scenes have to be done better next time!

I noticed that both the grownup and teenager Ji Heng looked like they were riding a rocking horse when they were filmed galloping on horses.

    lol.

  28. Lol about riding the horse. There was only two scenes of those, younger and older JH.

True! JZ wore a mask. But seriously though I thought he wasn’t for real and that TQ would realise that but the brothers made it real for TQ. It was funny 😂

  29. hahaha. No. I meant the “fake” tattoo. It was part of the make-up.

Don’t you have fake tattoos? I have floral ones for when I pretend to be husband’s “biker girl.” I put some on my neck and on the back of my ankle.

  30. I thought the backstory of JiHeng and Tian Qi was nicely wrapped up in this episode. It didn’t rely on all flashbacks. We also got Ji Heng’s point of view. We saw that, from the start, he regretted not being there to help her.

He really didn’t know that his mother had planned it.

BTW, what’s this firework festival again?

  31. Don’t you love her herbal boxes? So organized!

When I saw them, I felt like changing my whole spice rack!!

  32. Gah! JH is Mr Grumpy! TQ was supposed to be re-bandaging his hand.

I feel at that time he liked her already huh? Even though she’s still young. There’s the connection again of not giving her his name. It came back to haunt him again because he didn’t say it till later, for fear of losing her.

  33. Grrrr… this General Ji!

He ordered her to go to him because “it was urgent” but when she got there to dress his wound again, he ignored her and told her that he was reviewing official documents so she would wait until he was done.

    And that mean look!

  34. Awwww…

she offered to grind the ink stone for him. They didn’t know it but she used to do this too for him when they were little. This was another connection from the past.

I wish the director played this up a little bit more in later episodes.

  35. Oh so it was fake 😂 I really didn’t pay attention to it. 😁 I can’t remember the last time I put on a fake tattoo. 🤔

It’s just Festival of Fireworks 😊

Agree, their history was told and simply put and easy to understand.

I really like her medicine bag. ☺️ This studio is very good. I can’t fault it. Everything was perfect.

  36. He really was a meanie.

    JH: You’re unusually quiet today.
TQ: I’m afraid I’d say something to upset you, my lord.
JH: (frowning at her) Are you saying that I’m moody?

pwahahaha. He’s so lacking in self-awareness!

TQ: (immediately apologizing) I didn’t mean that. I didn’t mean that.

  37. Oh yes! I’ve “lusted” after that medicine bag. I love the little compartments.

  38. Did he just say impudence again? TQ was shocked after hearing him say her father’s name. So moody. 😒

What’s the sub with him saying do you still want your tongue?

  39. Aaaah! That overhead shot of them both at his table.

He had the document open in front of him while she had the writing implements in front of her. I love the contrast!

Black and white. Did you see that? It’s at 20:37

    I’ll take a screenshot later.

  40. Awww this was our first fan service and it was so good he had a nap 😅

    Seriously, that’s hard work.

  41. Yes! I see it. It is nice. ☺️

By the way, Huang Junjie has big hands. I just noticed it. Got nothing to do with the drama. 😂

  42. JH: Who taught you about the inkstone and the ink stick?
TQ: My lord, my father did. When I was little my father taught me to write. He said, you had to know about ink first. Those two have different texture. They can’t be mixed or it will ruin the inkstone.
JH: Before learning to write, you have to know about the ink first. A teacher I used to have taught me the same thing.

I’m glad that they had TQ’s father as a connection. If they only concentrate on this happy link – instead of JH’s mother – then they’ll be fine.

  43. Impudence!

That’s the second time. She broke the ink stone and got some ink on his hand. She touched his hand in a panic and THAT was impudence.

“I didn’t mean to stain your…delicate hand.” nooo… the impudence here was touching him.

That put into perspective what she did in Ep 21 when she went up to him and touched his chest, and grabbed his hand to make him touch her chest.

  44. I don’t think I want the fanning service to be matching the breeze in the mountain 😁.

Lol. You speak utter nonsense and ye he listened to her. 🙄 and dreamt of Zhao’er again. 😍

  45. hahaha.

I know you’d notice it. I noticed the nails. They were trimmed. I don’t like guys with untrimmed nails. Makes me question their hygiene.

  46. Ugh. He just threatened to sew her mouth shut just because she said, “I didn’t meant to stain your…delicate hand.”

I guess he didn’t like that his hand was described as “delicate.” hahaha.

This dude really is touchy about being regarded as effeminate.

  47. So true. TQ’s father was his teacher after all.

Ah, thanks. The impudence was for touching his hand but the ‘do you still want your tongue’, is for saying I carelessly smudged ink on your hand.

That was hilarious. That touching chest scene. 😆

  48. Oh! I’m here now. The “fanning” service. She’s literally and metaphorically a “fangirl”

  49. I don’t like guys who has long nails either. Does it mean anything if a mans hand is big? I didn’t think so. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  50. Actually, that’s one thing I find funny about martial arts.

They all have fancy, poetic names for a karate move.

Like, “butterfly sting” for a neck chop, and “crane leaping in the meadow” for a kick in the butt or “tiger pounce” for a punch on the chest. hahaha.

That’s why calling this fan move the wind from the mountain wouldn’t be far-fetched to me.

  51. Who would go if someone says ‘ you need to serve him in bed’. 😱😂

Oh wait if it’s him, yeah ok. 😈😂

Did you notice how manly he was sitting on his bed? Straight back, shoulders wide and legs apart. 🤪 But he had so much clothes on. 🤣

  52. I really shouldn’t go there… but yeah. they said that hand size has something to do with virility and penis size. hahaha.

Personally, I don’t find guys with small hands attractive. And it’s probably because I grew up with athletic brothers. Big hands are an advantage for basketball (you’ve got to dribble that ball!), baseball, football, and almost all sports I know. My brothers shaped the way I view men.

I’m used to thinking that big hands = athletic guys = capable guys = can carry the world = superior

  53. You’re fast. I’m not there yet.

  54. Oh interesting terms in martial arts. 😃 I did karate for a year but those were not the terms I remembered.

Geeeez! I felt that pinch on TQ’s cheeks 😡 It’s good he gave her a big reward.

  55. Oh I thought it was only if you have big feet. I didn’t know it’s the hands. 😄

True what you said about having big hands. I prefer it too.

  56. Wait! I missed this part: While she was fanning him, he dreamt of Zhao’er tossing flowers in the air. It was the gardenias.

So it wasn’t really the gentle breeze from her fanning but the smell that he remembered.

Tian Qi was “floating” around him as she fanned him. And she was unknowingly fanning her scent, too, because she had the gardenia sachet on her. That’s why he relaxed and dozed off.

Ahhh…so that’s why there was this petal floating in the scene and the background music was about the flower.

  57. Whereabouts are you now? ☺️

  58. Mr Sheng’s surprise face is funny when I think of how many times he’ll be surprised in the future.

  59. Still at the fan section. He just woke up.

  60. Do you have to go now? Go ahead. I can finish this up and you can comment when you get back.

  61. You’re so good. Thanks! I missed that. ☺️ I was wondering why there was that petal floating but you connected it. It was her gardenia pouch that he was smelling all along. 🥰

  62. Omigosh. Mr. Sheng’s face just scared me! He couldn’t believe that Tian Qi cured Ji Heng’s insomnia just by fanning.

Yes it’s 20% fan technique + 80% her gardenia scent.

Oh! He had a dream of Zhao’er! That camera spin made me dizzy. Is this his first dream of Zhao’er? I can’t remember.

  63. No. I’m good. We can finish this one ☺️

  64. lol! It was Mr. Sheng who suggested the fan service at night!!

It’s funny that the nightwatch thought that something “kinky” was about to happen, though.

And Tian Qi rolling into his bound and gagged was too funny.

“My lord! You should know that even a servant also has his dignity.” Did she really think that she had to go to bed with him and have sex with him??

  65. No, it’s not the first time. The first time was when he woke up then walked around and found TQ defending Chun Hua?

  66. Yeah it was Mr Shen’s fault for saying the command wrong 😂

It did sound kinky. But you have to admire TQ, fighting for honour! 🙌🏻

  67. I’m laughing now.

JH: Who told you I wanted you to lie on my bed with me?
TQ: Him (pointing at Mr. Sheng.)
JH: Sheng Anhuai! How exactly did you give the order? How did it get so absurd?!

Hahaha. This reminds me of a children’s game, Telephone, where a group of children form a circle, and one child pass a message by whispering to the person beside her and so on. The message eventually becomes distorted.

  68. Yes, she was fighting for her honor!

And it’s funny that when Mr. Sheng left and JH started talking, she instinctively covered her chest. lol. That’s a girl thing to do. Cover the boobs.

He said, Even if you’re the last person alive in this whole wide world, I still wouldn’t be interested.

He’s going to regret saying this: “Even if you’re the last person alive in this whole wide world, I still wouldn’t be interested.”

He’s going to regret this. Even if you’re the last person alive in this whole wide world, I still wouldn’t be interested.

  69. It’s hilarious , this fan me in bed order. 😄

She’s so relieved that she said fanning him is 3 lifetime blessings. Are you sure? 🤔😁

  70. Yes, he did look manly sitting on his bed.

But if he was on public transportation, and he spread his legs like that, he would be scolded. hahaha. It’s called the “man-spread.”

He actually looks good in white pajamas and his hair down. I must admit that.

  71. And she was nervously giggling again. I like that.

Oh! He slept with a smile on his face.

But when he saw Tian Qi sleeping by his side (I’ve been looking for this scene!), he pinched her!

I’m sure that wasn’t really how he felt. He didn’t think that she had pinchable cheeks. He must have thought that she looked lovely and then he realized that he was thinking about a guy and that freaked him out so he pinched her.

  72. Oh of course he’d regret it. 😈

  73. By the way…if you have a perverted mind (and I’m sure we both do), their body positioning while he was scolding Tian Qi for sleeping on his bed, looked rather lewd to me.

He had his legs spread open (the “man-spread” as we call it here) and she was kneeling in front of him. From the back view, it looked like she was doing (gasp!) a blowjob.

I wish the director shot this from a different angle.

  74. You said it right. The music was a giveaway too. It was an afterthought that’s why the pinching happened. He had a different facial expression too.

Yeeees, JH looked nice in his white pajama with his long hair down. 😍

Lol. I can only imagine the man spread 😂

  75. So, that was the first night that he’d slept through the night. When he woke up, it was already morning.

Again, it’s Mr. Sheng who put the thought in his head that as long as Tian Qi was beside him, his insomnia got better. He could sleep easily.

But even then, he didn’t want her to know that she was useful for curing his insomnia because he suspected that she’d take advantage of the situation.

That’s interesting, considering in Episode 22, everybody was telling him to suspect Tian Qi’s motives for deception but he said that he trusted her no matter what. Mr. Sheng (and his mother) warned him that Tian Qi could be using him to her advantage, but it didn’t matter to him anymore.

    The power of love…

  76. Oh dear. I didn’t see that positioning. 😄

But I thought there was a scene exactly like that. I think it’s next episode, not sure. The guards were trying to look and that’s how it looked to them. 😱

Let’s try to see it at the next re-watch.

  77. hahaha. I love Tian Qi’s giggle when she saw all the money she was paid with.

And ohhhh. Here comes Chunhua with her red bean pie.

The difference in rewards! Chunhua was made with love…or infatuation.

    okay, done with Episode 4!

  78. Right? The background music was the clue.

Now, when I look at this. I’m glad that Tian Qi slapped him when she was pretend-sleeping. That was a good payback for this pinch on the cheek. 🙂

  79. Yes. The power of love in giving your full trust to the one you love even though you couldn’t get the truth from her.

  80. Have you ever tried red bean pie/pastry? I love them. 😍 But the ones we buy here are not flat. It’s a ball.

I thought this pinch on the cheek was awful but if I think about the male lead I’m IFFY, he slapped/whack the female lead on the head. 🙄 I prefer this one.

Agree! That slapped was great comeback for the pinched cheeks.

  81. Right? That’s the pooooweeer of lllloooove. 🙂

He trusted her implicitly. She didn’t need to say anything because he absolutely trusted her.

I like how he changed from this episode 4 to episode 22. I guess that’s one advantage of cdramas over kdramas. Since kdramas only 16 episodes, the love story has to be at a faster pace. The couple would hate each other this week, then in the following episode, they’d be in love already. This cdrama had the time to show the progression between distrust and trust slowly.

  82. Okie. Episode 4 had a lot of connections and of course our fan which will be very valuable to JH later. ☺️

I’ll leave it here. Let me know if you want to re-watch episode 5 tomorrow, same time. 😊

    That was fun! 🥂

  83. No… I don’t think I’ve tried a red bean pastry. But I’ve eaten sesame balls where there’s a reddish/brownish sort of filling. I usually eat them at the end of a dimsum. For dessert. It’s crunch on the outside but gooey in the middle.

  84. Okay! Goodnight!!!

Thank you, my friend!! That was fun. 🙂

  85. Yes! I like it this way too. The build up of the relationship is there and you can see it growing. Actually even the fact that she wasn’t revealed to be a girl till episode 21 was good for me. Usually I won’t have the patience but this one I liked it. 😊

  86. It’s those ones. We call it sesame red bean balls here. ☺️ Try the black sesame balls next time. Yum!

Okie! Happy morning to you my friend! 😄

  87. Same here. I wasn’t irritated with the story’s pacing because there was reason why the writer was withholding the “great reveal.” She/he was creating a picture, and she was laying the pieces one by one, like a jigsaw puzzle piece. It would have been screwed up the story (and totally changed the conflict) had Ji Heng discovered early on who she was.

  88. Why? Is there a difference between red and black beans?

Yes, it’s 9am already. I’ll go out for my morning jog soon.

Good night! NO fan service for you, agdr03.

  89. Oh. We better keep tabs. We can do Episode 5 tomorrow.

  90. I think there’s a difference in that the other is red bean flavoured while the black sesame is base on sesame. 😊

I’m good to re-watch episode 5 same time tonight. 6:30am your time and 10:30 my time. 😊

Yes, I wanted a fan service from Ji Heng 😄

  91. Morning!

Are we in with the re-watch? 😊

  92. Yes. I’m ready.

See you in half an hour.

  93. Aye Captain! 👩‍✈️

    See you then.

  94. Present! 😊

  95. 6:30 am!!!

The maid Chunhua’s cute, too. Although really tiny. She must not be more than 5 feet. Sun Qian (TQ) is 5.4 although she looks tall here.

And Tian Qi looked manly the way she protected Chunhua.

  96. Present, too! 🙂 We’re so used to this, right?

  97. I might be more slower today, my signal is not as good. 🙁

We will take it slow in this episode.

  98. I’m smiling at Ji Zheng as he was smiling at Tian Qi.

I like how the director filmed everything in slow-motion for Ji Zheng. It’s to copy that falling in love feeling, you know…time-is-standing-still effect.

Good job protectingi Tian Qi, JZ!

  99. We got this yeah! 🙌🏻

Yes. Chunhua is pretty too. 😊 agree. Sun Qian looks tall here.

You can tell straight away that JZ likes TQ. Look at his smile when he saw her running.

  100. No worries.

I’ve so many tabs open on my laptop I’m not sure where I’m replying to you.

  101. You’re right when you said Chunhua will admire TQ too. 😊

JZ always saved TQ. He really was a knight in shining armour or an angel instead?

  102. JZ asked her, “What are you doing here?” So he knew without a doubt it was her. Even his steward saw the similarity.

And HE rescued her. He blocked the stick for her. But when the stick splintered, part of it must have scratched her.

But I like how JZ turned the tables and said that TQ was his “benefactor”. I think this is where people (and Mr. Sheng) got the idea that it was TQ who rescued JZ from getting hit by the stick by taking the blow herself.

JZ actually thanked her for coming to HER assistance when it should have been her thanking him. “Thank you for the timely support.” That’s how the misunderstanding happened.

  103. Yes.
Angel more like. He’s wearing white. lol.

But don’t you find the lapels on his outfit weird? He’s the only one with lapels (like a suit jacket) on his costume.

  104. Oh there’s Mr Grumpy! 😍

She’s funny when she said there was 4 flowers there yesterday. I wished she’d just ask outright, did you pluck more flower? 🤣

I like that he can see through her nonsense. 😂

  105. I laughed at that too!

She was soooo sure that he plucked a flower behind her back. But for him, that accusation was insulting. He wouldn’t stoop to that level (Which tells us about his character. He wouldn’t do anything underhanded, right?? Unless it involves that fake shaman-feng-shui guy).

I like what he said to her, “If I wanted you to die, why should I secretly pull out the flowers? I can kill you with merely an order.”

    Good point, Ji Heng.

  106. Ah. That’s how he found out. According to Tian Qi, the corset came loose while she was running.

The corset was binding her breasts so they wouldn’t jiggle. lol.

And that’s how he knew she was female. He either felt the corset or he felt the side of her breast. lol.

  107. Yes. I liked that he did that because it made JH jealous for the first time, I think. 🤔

Oh yeah, JZ’s outfit is quite different. It looks more heavier.

There’s JH asking TQ to tell him the truth but like we discussed last night, he didn’t asked her anymore when he found out she’s a woman.

  108. I like how this Cdrama introduced details which would turn out to be important later on. It didn’t waste our time on irrelevant things.

For instance, I didn’t get why Tian kept on talking about this “Shifu” of hers…her mentor who was the greatest doctor she’d ever seen. She told Chunhua that women can be doctors, too.

I skipped this whole part because I thought it was irrelevant.

But now I realized that Aunty Hong was an important character. She kept on saving her and Ji Heng from “fatal” wounds. 🙂

  109. I thought he felt her small waist and not her loosened corset. 😄

So right what JH said about killing her instead of plucking flowers but he went on about those flowers a few times that’s why TQ was sure he did. ☺️

  110. Oh of course it has to be Aunty Hong. I thought it was her father but then he passed away when she was still young.

This is why I love to re-watch, picking up things I wasn’t aware of before. ☺️

  111. I’m watching this scene again.

He noticed her counting the flowers over and over again….so he really wasn’t concentrating on his reading. 🙂

I would’ve been exasperated like him. “How many times are you going to count that? You’ll get the same answer.” Hahaha. I’m sorry but that sounds like me when I talk to an incompetent staff.

She told him, “There were four flowers left yesterday.”
JH: You think I plucked it? (incredulous)
    TQ: It’s possible.
JH: If I wanted you to die, why should I secretly pull out the flowers? I can kill you with merely an order.

He saw her bandage around her head and asked, “Who are you mourning?” lol. He didn’t expect her to be in a fight.

  112. Yes, I like our re-watches too because we get to see WHY details were added.

Like that whole scene with Chunhua. Tian Qi was unaware that she was giving poor Chunhua the wrong impression with her physical touch. Tian Qi kept touching Chunhua. For Tian Qi, that was nothing because she was a girl. They were like two girls chatting.

But for Chunhua, TQ was a guy who was “touchy-touchy” with her. Chunhua saw her behavior as a sign of her affection. lol. Every time TQ held her wrists, Chunhua’s eyes would widen like TQ’s eyes would whenever JH or JZ came close to her. lol.

  113. What about JH thinking thoroughly about the door frame, the reason why she’s got a bandage? 😂

But the concern that came after was nice. He asked Mr Shen right away about what happened?

  114. Every time TQ held her wrists, Chunhua’s eyes would widen like TQ’s eyes would whenever JH or JZ came close to her. lol.

Yes! Chunhua’s eyes widens whenever TQ touches her hands and TQ does it too with JH or JZ. 😄 Poor Chunhua though because it came to marriage at some point, only to realise it can’t happen.

  115. Yes. That was when TQ was beginning to sound dubious.

That’s why he ordered her to stand up. She was kneeling down when she said that her head hit the door frame. So he looked at the door then commanded her to “Stand up! Stand up!”

Because when she stood up beside him, there was no way she could have hit her head on the door, when she was shorter than him.

    hahaha.

So he asked her if she had crawled through a DOG hole. hahaha. Meaning, given her height, the only possible way she could have hit her forehead was if she was crawling through a doggy opening.

This is a funny conversation really.

  116. I was laughing at it too. Actually both Huang Junjie and Sun did very well in acting the funny parts. Sometimes it falls short, like IFFY 😀

  117. He spotted the blood on her head but he didn’t show concern. In fact, he said, “Remember my words. Your life is in my hands. Don’t get yourself killed before I allow you to get killed.” Meaning, he didn’t want her fighting and getting injured because then his plans for her as bait to the killer would fail.

    He sounded mean here.

But actually he was concerned enough to go directly to Mr. Sheng and inquire about her injuries. He just didn’t want her to know it because she might use this to her advantage.

  118. Sun Qian and Huang Junjie hit the right notes.

Whenever Ji Heng scolded her, he was deadpan so Tian Qi couldn’t tell her if he was being serious or not.

  119. Sun Qian and Huang Junjie hit the right notes.

Whenever Ji Heng scolded her, he was deadpan so Tian Qi couldn’t tell her if he was being serious or not.

And Sun Qian’s cuteness didn’t grate on me like the heroine in IFFY. Her voice didn’t whine for one. And even when she whined or acted obsequious, those were called for in those scenes. SHE knew that she was acting shamelessly.

  120. It must have been hard on HJJ to keep a straight face for most of 20 episodes 😂 But he did well. He seems like a happy go lucky guy, quiet too.

  121. True. He said, your life is mine, only I can kill you. It didn’t sound like a concern at all but he must have asked Mr Shen to get information on the issue because as soon as he went out Mr Shen was there to give the report. 😊

  122. He knew he wouldn’t get a straight answer from TQ so he went to Mr. Sheng, “Sheng Anhua, why did TQ clash with the others yesterday?”

I like that. I like it when he takes charge. I don’t like heroes who dither. Cough cough. That Cuo guy from “I Fall For You” I gave up when he took the beatings from the gangsters in Episode 12. Like what the heck? If he got beaten up, then who was going to rescue the girl? Idiot.

Here, Mr. Sheng relayed the wrong version of the incident with JZ. He said that TQ protected the master. Misinformation. Fake news. lol.

  123. If you were TQ, you’d be outraged by his words. He was saying:

You can’t be killed by others because I have to kill you first.

    Or

You can’t be killed by Sun Dali because I have a better death for you in mind.

You should be hopping mad and saying, “Are you kidding me right now? What am I? Chopped liver?”

  124. JH’s bp was going up as soon as he asked ‘TQ injured himself saving JZ? Then the peak being ‘doesn’t he know who his master is?!. 😆 So angry his clothes are swinging too. 😆

  125. Ji Heng frowned to hear that TQ and Sun Dali were fighting over Chunhua. But Mr. Sheng clarified that TQ was only defending Chunhua.

Then, he added that Sun Dali ran into Ji Zheng while chasing after TQ. She got injured while protecting JZ.

    And this irritated Ji Heng.

JH: TQ got hurt when saving JZ?
Sheng: That’s what people are saying. Dr Tian bravely protected master.
JH: Protected the master? Doesn’t he know who his master is?

hahaha. Of course, he would zoom in on that word “master.” He was demanding loyalty from Tian Qi. He was her only master. She couldn’t serve two.

I like that Mr. Sheng came to TQ’s defense. He said that TQ didn’t think too much about her act of service. Meaning, she was just being kind. She didn’t want others to get hurt. She didn’t protect Ji Zheng out of duty or loyalty or allegiance, but out of kindness.

    And so it starts…

  126. I know, right? His blood pressure rose there.

He gets riled up at the simplest things because he overthinks things. But I can’t blame him really. With a girl like Tian Qi, he can’t be too sure of anything.

  127. And yes, it was funny how he flapped the sleeves of his outfit to express annoyance. That reminded me of a peevish kid stomping his foot.

  128. Yes, he acts straight away, just like how he planted the day when he ousted TQ as a woman.

Oh really? Zhao Cuo just let himself be beaten? I thought he was a bully that doesn’t back down. I mean he burned that library. 😬

I agree, it’s not nice to hear that someone has the right to kill you and that you’re life belongs to him and nothing can break that. 🙁

  129. agdr03 said, “I agree, it’s not nice to hear that someone has the right to kill you and that you’re life belongs to him and nothing can break that.”

But agdr03, don’t you see the turnaround?

That’s why he took the stabbing later without complaints. Ji Heng thinks that Zhao’er/Tian Qi had the right to kill him and that his life belonged to her anyway. 🙂

I like that. Ji Heng actually put his money where his mouth is. He would do the same thing to himself that he had asked of her.

  130. Yes, the jealous side has come out. 😈

That’s funny, TQ’s comment on its not only beautiful women who’s gets a look back but it’s the same for a handsome guy too. 😂

Ohhh and he actually teased TQ about being punished but because she wasn’t at fault, he let it go.?

  131. That whole meeting with Ning’er:

Tian Qi watched Ninger leave Ji Heng reluctantly.

    JH: What are you thinking?
TQ: I was thinking that not only beautiful girls make people linger but a handsome man can, too.
    Sheng: (snicker)
    JH: (annoyed) Nonsense!

Tian Qi was being cheeky. She teased Ji Heng that his “handsomeness” made Ninger dilly-dally and hang back like a foolish girl in love.

    hahaha.

I thought JH would say, “Impudence!” again. I’m kinda disappointed he didn’t.

  132. That’s why he took the stabbing later without complaints. Ji Heng thinks that Zhao’er/Tian Qi had the right to kill him and that his life belonged to her anyway.

Awwwww and this is why we’re ok with this stabbing. ☺️

  133. Ah! 😂 JH actually likes that handsomeness that’s why there was no punishment 🤣

  134. Yes, that was a cute scene, too, when he teased TQ BACK about her punishment after SHE had teased him about Ninger’s lingering looks. Ji Heng just wanted his payback so he brought up her punishment.

She quickly took the “pity” route. She pointed out that she’d already got hurt (see? she was bleeding!!!) so please don’t beat her up again.

TQ: Me? General? You want to punish me? I got hurt, General. (touching her forehead) Don’t let me get beaten again. Also, please don’t deduct my salary.

Mr. Sheng was holding back his smile.

JH: Since you like being punished so much, Mr. Sheng will arrange it.

The reason he said this was because Tian Qi — in negotiating the terms of her punishment — was in fact already CONCEDING to the punishment. She was no longer protesting the punishment itself, just the method. hahaha. So Ji Heng basically said, “Okay…soooo you’re seeking to be punished? Fine! Arrange it with Mr. Sheng!”

    I like how he thinks.

  135. Oh my goodness! We’re trying a new method to calm the nerves and body so it will sleep nicely.

That look when TQ said take off your clothes 😱😱😱

  136. Yes. He liked the implied compliment there. (Oh! The vanity of men!) So he let her go.

He said, “nonsense!” as if he didn’t like it.

I liked the way he swaggered after leaving her. SWWAAAAG…

  137. Oh yeah.

I was drooling when she massaged him. It made me want to set up an appointment with my massage therapist. My spine needs deep massaging. lol. Maybe I’ll do it this afternoon.

  138. True. She’s already accepting her punishment but when she learned there’s none, the response, ‘ You’re the best Lord ever, I will serve you forever.’ 🤣

  139. Oh yeah, definitely swaggered. 😄

Go for it. We used to have a home service massage years ago, for 1 hour it was $30. So good. But he had to move to a different place after he got married. I miss him.

  140. KH loved that massage except when she burned him. 😄

Lol. This was the scene that I was talking about last night. See the guards, sneaking a look. 😵

  141. I like how he looked at his hand and saw that her medicine worked. Again, this looked like a small detail but later when his brother JZ asked him how Tian Qi was, he said that her skills as a doctor were good. And that’s because he had actual proof with his hand injury healed completely.

I thought it was funny that she was devising new treatment for him. He was immediately suspicious, Are you too tired to fan me?”

I don’t think he was far off. Tian Qi was most likely thinking of a way to get out of the fan service. She was devious that way.

So she tried this wormwood method on him.

But again, this was yet another seemingly unimportant interaction between the two. She was pestering him to give her new treatment a try. She said, “Please let me try it on your body. Maybe it’s more effective.” And then she added that everyday she was thinking of how to improve his diet, his sleep, his health and his mood.

He would miss this “caring” attention from her later on after the kneeling incident. He would tell her, “You used to talk a lot of ways to cure insomnia. Why aren’t you talking it now?”

And she answered, “I didn’t think carefully. I used some untested methods on my lord’s precious body. It’s disrespect.”

See? So all these experiments, although he WAS burned at one time, were signs of her attention that he would miss later on.

  142. I go to a Korean (what else?) masseuse. I like her because she doesn’t try to chat me with me. It’s all business. lol.

  143. Also a sign of her loyalty.

TQ could get another reward if the wormwood was successful. 😄

  144. Oh this scene! The guards really should be punished here because they were the ones who spread the rumor.

They peeked in and they saw him turning on his bed to lie down on his back. What gutter minds! (hahahaha) They thought that the two of them were involved in some sado-masochistic sexual thing.

Then, they went around saying that General Ji was the submissive one. They must have concluded that Tian Qi was the “dominatrix” because she made JH shout.

This whole scene was funny if you know what they’re getting at.

  145. True. A sign of her loyalty.

…but also of her greediness. You’re right. hahaha. She was also doing this for the money. She was rewarded when she fanned him to sleep so now she was looking for other ways to be rewarded with money again. Our Dr. Tian Qi was mercenary, too, in a cute way.

  146. JH doesn’t like rumours and it showed again how he wants to deal with it, do it straight away.

What a comment, ‘I think TQ is strange from head to toe’. 😄

  147. That scene with the ear candles experiment. Did you see that? She wanted him to try it and he walked off to his bed. Did you see how he flapped his robe again? What’s up with that? I’ve to take a screenshot.

He didn’t like her trying anymore new experiments and he wanted her to return to fanning him.

TQ: General. I was only thinking of you. I can fan in the summer. But what is there for me to do in the winter?
JH: You can warm the bed.
    TQ: Huh?

lol. It came out wrong. But I like the double meaning.

JH: What I mean is that you can warm the bed for me BEFORE. I’m not asking you to sleep with me.

Then, he should have phrased it better. He could hardly miss the innuendo of his offer.

  148. Yes, gutter minds it is! 😄 The guards might have been killed if JH knew about them.

I can’t think of anything else they want to convey but I am familiar with dominant and submissive. 😆

Ohhh there’s a slip of the tongue from our JH. ‘In winter, you can warm my bed.’

    Me – dies! 😂

  149. Yes. I like what he said. He just told JZ to deal with the rumors and squash them. There was no need to come running to him about them.

And that comment!! “I think TQ is strange from head to toe.” It’s like he was raising his hands and saying that he’s given up trying to understand her.

Reminded me of that song from the “Sound of Music” — How do we solve a problem like Maria…

  150. Yes she was trying different things to cure his insomnia. 😊

Yeah what’s with the flapping of robes. I guess if you have a lot of material, you’d need to do that for effect. 🤣

Oh the gardenia pouch is in this episode.

  151. Yes. “In winter you can warm my bed” — he was only missing a leer on his face (and those wiggly eyebrows) to make his remark really sexually suggestive.

But hahaha. If Tian Qi had been naughty, she would have said yes to whatever he was offering.

  152. Yes, the gardenia explanation is here. The fanning in Episode 4 made sense only after we see Episode 5.

  153. Reminded me of that song from the “Sound of Music” — How do we solve a problem like Maria…

This made me laugh. So true 😅

TQ is really funny, JH said, what’s with the reek of fragrance? TQ – better than being smelly! Love it! 😄

  154. And again that comment about being stinky…

it related to Sun Dali actually. Sun Dali was stinky. She was able to identify him because of his stinky smell.

See? I like how this writer operated. Details in the conversation, even those said jokingly or in passing, would become important later on.

  155. Awww he already tested his theory and found out that it is having TQ close that cures his insomnia.

Poor thing he really wants a cure.

  156. Yes, here’s the conversation about the gardenia sachet.

JH: Wait! You’re free today. Go away. (changes his minnd) Hey! I wanted to ask you before. Your scent smells familiar. It’s not like a flavor from medicines. It’s like a flower.
TQ: (showing her sachet) This is it. Gardenia. When I was young, my family planted gardenias. I collected them and made sachets, and bring them with me. It’s become a habit. I didn’t change even when I worked here.
JH: Why do you do this? You’re a man.

Remember that guy in “Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency?” He liked perfumed sachets, too. But yes, Ji Heng is a stickler for what “real” men should do.

TQ: It’s better than being smelly.

Wait? Is she insinuating that Ji Heng was smelly?

JH: (insulted) You! Alright. Leave the sachet. You can go.
TQ: General, if you like it, I can make one for you.
JH: I told you to leave it.

He didn’t want to sound like he wanted the sachet for himself because “real” men don’t go for scented stuff. He also didn’t want Tian Qi to know that she’d become important to his mental health. She was his sleeping aid.

Actually, he wanted the sachet because of what Mr Sheng told him previously. Mr. Sheng said that he was able to sleep because of Tian Qi. He wanted to disprove that and he thought it was just Tian Qi’s perfume that made him sleep peacefully at night.

JH: (thinking to himself) I don’t believe it. I can’t sleep well without you? What matters is not you, but the smell of this sachet.

So when he woke up with the nightmare he realized that it was Tian Qi all along.

JH: (thinking again) Not the scent. Not the sachet. Is it really because of him? How can it be?

  157. See? I like how this writer operated. Details in the conversation, even those said jokingly or in passing, would become important later on.

Yes, it all connects later. 😊 This writer is the same for the Some Day One Day, tdrama that @Table122000 recommended. I’ll definitely watch it and see how it is. I’ve started it but I was really tired so I’ll have to watch from the start again.

  158. He didn’t want to sound like he wanted the sachet for himself because “real” men don’t go for scented stuff. He also didn’t want Tian Qi to know that she’d become important to his mental health. She was his sleeping aid.

Yeah, definitely his sleeping aid and that’s why he will save her from drowning. He can’t let his sleeping aid die.

  159. Taiwanese drama? Hmmm…I’ve been burned by Tdramas before so I’m leery of them. There’s just something…I don’t know…”lust-y” about their shows. I scratch the surface and I realize that it’s sexual tension between the characters that’s driving them to have a relationship with each other. It’s not love.

  160. yes…he can’t have his sleeping aid dissolve in water.

I really like how his nightmares showcase his psychic abilities. lol. His nightmare woke him up because Tian Qi was in trouble.

His nightmares were always related to Tian Qi…it was like his “Spidey Sense” that tingled everytime there was trouble for Tian Qi or something wrong was about to happen.

  161. Done!

Three hours, it took us three hours to rewatch this Episode 5. lol.

  162. I’ve only ever watched the Taiwanese drama, Autumn Concerto. That one I love. But you might not want to see it because the male lead is an attorney. 🤣

Yeah, ever since TQ vanished from his life, she was always in his dreams and yeah those dreams saved TQ a few times. 😊

  163. Another episode! 🥂

I’d like to re-watch the entire series but I can only do it on weekends.

Are you game? If not we can just chose a particular episode to re-watch together. 😊

    Have a happy morning!

    😴😴😴

  164. Oh, wait! I did like a Taiwanese drama. The girl was annoyingly dim-witted again but I tolerated her and many of the scenes because I like the male lead. He’s Jerry Yan.

The name of the Tdrama? “Down With Love.” The plot: He was also a lawyer (ha!) and he fell in love with the dumbest girl in the city because she had a big heart who was a perky nanny to his abandoned nephew/niece. There! That’s the whole plot.

But he was sweet with her. Don’t we all live for sweetness??

  165. We can rewatch the final episode or Episode 22.. We can talk about it tomorrow. Good night!

  166. ‘Don’t we all live for sweetness??’

Yes! And all the feels. 🙂

I’ve never heard of Down with Love but I know Jerry Yan from MG but I didn’t watch his version, I watched the k-version and c-version. 🙂

Oh I’d love to re-watch episode 22 with you 🙂

    Until when is your break?

  167. I was compiling a list of dramas to watch to distract me from the coronavirus panic. Let me finish it later and I’ll share it with you all. Have to prep for work tomorrow.

Jerry Yan was crazy in love with the heroine in “Down with Love.” I don’t know why I found his leanness attractive when I usually prefer beefy guys (moo!). It’s one of those weird mysteries of the universe. 🙂

  168. Jerry Yan was crazy in love with the heroine in “Down with Love.” I don’t know why I found his leanness attractive when I usually prefer beefy guys (moo!). It’s one of those weird mysteries of the universe. 🙂

    Totally understandable. 🙂

No worries. You go ahead with your thing, I’ll be going home soon as Boss said our counterpart is on holiday, we might as well do work from home for the other half of the day.

By the way, I found this on youtube, a list of upcoming modern dramas. Take note of our Yang Yang from 4:57 with his Special Forces series. I will definitely watch that even if just to see him work hard at being in the army and of course, his handsome face. 😉

  169. I’m watching episode 6 and funny how JZ said that it was a turtle that saved TQ from drowning. 😄 Then we see the turtle and it was small but it had the mark that JH said. 😆

  170. Are you watching the Behind the scenes clip? If you see English subbed ones, please post them in the Finale Open Thread, okay?

I’ve been looking through Cdrama to recommend. 😒 None so far.

  171. Morning! How did you know I’m still looking out for bts clips that’s subbed? 😄 So far I haven’t seen any. I actually want to confirm that it’s Huang Junjie’s voice that they used in the drama. It sounds like it though because Sun Qian and JZ’s character are definitely their voices.

Don’t worry if I find anymore bts, I’ll post it there. 😊

Yeah, no other cdrama to watch after Dr Cutie. I think that’s why I went back to Love O2O. ☺️

  172. Oh I forgot that TQ described the spirit turtle that saved him as ugly and scary in her eyes but JH was listening to her 😂 So he goes ‘is that how you describe your saviour? 😡 Ok then, let’s see the spirit turtle’.

    I’m laughing 😂

  173. IQIY site has many dramas I haven’t seen elsewhere but I’ve to check if they’re subbed all the way first before recommending them. So I’ve been checking their final episode. There’s one that seemed promising but after I saw the ugly kissing in the end, I changed my mind. The guy didn’t know how to kiss. He grabbed her and slobbered over her. I hope, for the actress’ sake, the filming was done in one take.

Oddly enough, I’m Falling for You isn’t there anymore. I guess it’s now on YT.

I saw a BTS where Sun Qian asked if Huang Junjie knew had a drivers license. And he said no. Then, after a pause, he added that he knew how to drive though. Then he covered the camera filming them and said he was veteran (meaning, he was good at it). Lol. I didn’t know if I had to laugh that he had to puff himself up like that or frown that he was bragging about something illegal — driving without a license.

  174. 😂 So childish. Why does it annoy him that TQ described the turtle as ugly and scary? It’s his fault that he didn’t want her to know who the real rescuer was.

Oh. This incident should go on TQ’s list of bad things that he did to her. Didn’t he order her to sit out there and look for the turtle?

  175. ‘He grabbed her and slobbered over her.’

    That’s nasty. 😬

Oh IFFY is not at iqiyi anymore? Interesting. I haven’t checked YouTube for it.

I haven’t seen that bts about Huang Junjie’s driving. 😄 I’ll have to look it up. 😄

  176. I know right. 😄 He’s probably thinking just a few days ago he said I was handsome and now I’ve become ugly 😄

Yes. TQ had to show the turtle. The thing was that he saved TQ again by saying that the turtle that she found was a descendant of the spirit turtle as a historian wrote it in the books and had the mark – king on it. ☺️ The siblings teased her because the turtle was small.

Actually I don’t remember that TQ knew about JH saving her from this incident. Do you recall if she ever did?

  177. No. She didn’t know he saved her. One of the great mysteries in her life along with the Shaman/Feng Shui quack. 😂

Awww. JH defended her against the Ning’er and bro. Anymore highlights from this episode?

  178. Oh yes! She didn’t know about the shaman too. 😁 Interesting that it didn’t need to be told because JH saved her a few more times after this. 😍

The highlight was when she dressed up as a girl and tripped in front of JH. 😁 He said he’s familiar with the scent but couldn’t put it down as TQ. He was very slow. 😀

  179. Highlight for episode 7, JH teasing TQ by picking the petals on the last flower of Azalea 🌺, saying kill, not kill, kill, not kill. 😂

    Love it! 😂

  180. Too funny. It’s the opposite of what a lover typically does to a flower: loves me, loves me not.

Wait. Didn’t she hide the plant in her house?

  181. Ya, it’s the horror version of loves me, loves me not but this was made funny and it worked. Yes she took it because it only had the 1 flower and she was trying to block JH’s view on where it was before but JH already knew that it’s not there and he was smiling when she wasn’t looking. 🥰

Oh I saw the ‘veteran’ driver’s bts. 😁 You’d think he’d just apply for his license. Is it hard to apply there? 😁 They are so cute.

I’ll have an early night tonight.

    Good day! ☺️

  182. Yes, you’re right! The horror version!

You know, this whole thing about JH liking her when he thought she was a guy just showed, in an odd way, that he liked her for being her. Although she was cross-dressing, her quirky personality made him pay attention to her. Her appearance didn’t matter. 😂

  183. I agree, TQ had a way of getting to him and affect him in ways that showed that he cares but never admitting it at all.

Yes, here appearance didn’t matter but I think it helped that he was able to see that she is kind and loyal and that she is a good doctor. 🙂

    I’ll continue with episode 8 tonight. 🙂

  184. I can join you for a rewatch of Episode 8 later at 6:30 my time, if you want.

  185. Ok, sounds good. 🙂

I’ll buzz you then when it’s time.

    Cool! 😎

  186. Opening a thread for Ep 6 to 8

  187. Thanks 🙂
