Dr. Cutie: Eps 6 – 10 Open Thread

Agdr03 and I are doing a rewatch of Episode 8 tomorrow morning at 6:30am EST. Feel free to join us. 🙂

@agdr03, I’m deleting old screenshots. But since we’ve commented on how much we like Ji Heng’s costumes, I’ll slowly transfer some of the pix here. lol. This serves a dual purpose anyway: not only am I cleaning my files, I’m indulging our fangirl tendencies.

See you later.

  1. Aye! We have to indulge our fangirl tendencies every now and then. 😍

Besides, this is a period drama where all costumes, props and studio settings are very nice and just perfect. 🙂

  2. I’ll do them tomorrow after our rewatch. Heading to bed now. 🙂

  3. That’s funny and so cute! 😂

I think he has beautiful eyes. 😉

    See you later!

  4. They are so cute!

  5. 6:30am I’m here, agdr03. Where are youuuuuu?

  6. Waaaaa. Wait wait. I thought its10:30 my time.

Let me get my stuff ready.

    Sorry 😂

  7. No rush. I’m typing out the dialogues. 🙂

  8. Ok. Ready. ☺️

How come you have a different profile colour next to your name?

  9. I do?

Hmmm…. It must be because I didn’t sign in on my blog as an admin. I’m just a guest.

But what about here? Is the profile pic the same as usual?

  10. Oh TQ’s crying already while confessing to JH, she’s really scared she won’t be able to live long as her parents told her to.

  11. Oh! I missed rewatching the episode when she stole the sachets from the girls’ dormitory. Boooooo.

Yes. TQ’s crying. She’s appealing to his emotions.

  12. Yours is back to the original colour now but mines all different. 😄 All good. As long as we can see each other’s comments. ☺️

  13. JH: Why didn’t you report it?
TQ: Because I’m afraid of being killed.

Although she was rather shameless here, she was using logic, too.

TQ: I want to live as long as I can. I’ve been so lucky to have the chance to serve such an important person like you. How is it possible that I want to die? If someone does, he must be an idiot. These past days, I’ve worked so hard. General.

According to her, she’s afraid of being killed. Why? Because she’s enjoying her work. Why would she jeopardize her job? Telling him the truth, she’d just lose her job.

  14. That was on episode 7. 😄 That was funny to and the lead up to TQ tripping right in front of JH. 😁

Yes. What she’s saying are all true, that is to serve him well , fan him well. It’s just good she can still show her loyalty that way and appeal to his emotions. 😊

  15. She’s using all different types of “appeals”.

    Appeal to emotion = tears
Appeal to logic = why would she risk her job
Appeal to utility = she’s useful as a fangirl

TQ: General, after I die, if others don’t serve you well like preparing your meals and clothes, I won’t have the opportunity to help you. If you keep my life, I can help to fan you or do something else.

She’s reminding him that she’s of much use to him.

And then there’s the cutie appeal, of course. 🙂

  16. Isn’t it similar to what she said about JH’s fiancé? That she’s a very important person and she will be connected to JH so the more that she wanted to work for her for a long time.

  17. I’ve to rewatch Ep 7. He detected her scent again, right? That’s why he became suspicious of the maid who tripped.

  18. You’re right!

She keeps telling him that working for him is a plum position. It’s highly coveted because he’s the general.

    hahaha. Little did he know…

  19. Yes! When she excused herself and left, JH realised it then. He told the guards to get her. He said to Mr Shen that her scent was familiar. 😄

You’d think he only ever smells TQ’s gardenia’s pouch. 😄

  20. He really did a number on her, though. He was ready to forgive her but he just wanted to torture her by frightening him for not telling him the truth.

TQ: You mean you forgive me?
JH: You’ll be punished for not telling the truth. But I’ll keep your life.
TQ: Thank you for your kindness.
JH: Don’t thank me now. You might regret his later.

She understood that his method here. To make her confess, he made her think of the dire consequence. He’ll use this tactic with Madame Shu, the concubine/spy.

  21. Which one was the Cutie appeal again? 😁

JZ is so nice, actually telling her that JH is actually, what’s the word that he used? Was it kind? That if she tells him the truth, he can understand.

  22. hahaha. Right? It’s all about the gardenias.

  23. I thought she looked grovelling there.

And when she wiped off the tear under her chin. lol.

But when she started crying, his eyes twitched. He was moved by her tears. He’s a weakling. lol.

  24. Yes, he really wanted to show again that he’s got the power to kill anyone.

He even mentioned that it was the last day for TQ to confess. Lucky it was right after JZ gave the evidence to JH.

Yes, he’s using it right now to Madam Shu.

  25. I like this moment when TQ observed his clenched fist. The concubine Madame Shu was saying, “JiHeng you’re so cold-blooded. You don’t know what love is.(TQ looked at his hands) No matter what he does to me, I will not betray him.

Ji Heng was applying the same pressure that he did earlier with TQ. He was threatening her with punishment. But it didn’t work with Madame Shu because of her loyalty to Dong Zichun.

Then after Madame Shu took the poison, she cursed him, “JiHeng, this is just a beginning. You have to live and then watch all of your love leave you. All the people you love will hate you and want to kill you.”

It’s a good thing that Ji Heng didn’t believe in superstitions and curses. Later on, when TQ stabbed him, he didn’t blame it on Madame Shu’s death wish. lol.

Or did he??? I haven’t watched Episodes 24 and 25 yet. lol

  26. ‘He’s a weakling. lol.’

Only with TQ! 😄 I love the scent of gardenias. ☺️

Got to give it to JH, he was clenching his hands while trying to get the truth from Madam Shu. He’s really upset. 😡

  27. JZ’s advice worked for her here.

The viki sub is different. The sub called him the “Ancestor Flower Fairy” while in YT, the translation was simply as “Flower Fairy.”

  28. ‘It’s a good thing that Ji Heng didn’t believe in superstitions and curses. Later on, when TQ stabbed him, he didn’t blame it on Madame Shu’s death wish. lol.’

I was going to comment on the same thing. 😄 Technically it did happen that JH was left behind by the one he loves and TQ did hate him too. There’s another connection that will happen later.

But like you said, JH thought he deserved it. He owed TQ that much for her suffering.

  29. Yes. He was upset. This would tie in to what he’d tell her in later episode that no one wasn’t born with bravery, and joining the military didn’t instantly make him brave. Meaning, he learned to be tough along the way.

JH: What’s the matter? Are you afraid of me? Do you think I was cruel that I didn’t save her life?
TQ: My lord. It must be hard for you. Such a person just died in front of you and she died because of you. You must feel guilty.

She understood him, and he was relieved.

I noticed that he was particularly sensitive when people, like his brother Ji Zheng and now Tian Qi, thought of him as cruel and unjust. It bothered him, and he would ask them aggressively/defensively if they thought that he was a brutal guy.

  30. What do you mean, “There’s another connection that will happen later”?

  31. Geez. What a question.

JH – are you really that scared of me?
TQ – it must have been hard for you to see someone in front of you die. You must feel guilty.
    Me – duh! 🙄😂

But TQ’s answer floored him and it made him think about Zhao’er again.

And she knew that he wasn’t going to behead the maid of Madam Shu. She really does know him.

  32. This conversation with Dr. Ding…

So she thought her since her job there was done and living in the mansion was scary and troublesome, she wanted to leave. But Dr Ding made her reconsider on it.

Dr. Ding’s argument: If she got JH’s trust, and became his confidante, everybody will listen to her and she’ll have power.

I think the writer put that in to show that TQ wasn’t a “user” or a manipulative person.

  33. I meant that what Madam Shu said did come true when TQ stabbed him and hated him. She said the one JH lives will leave him, try to kill him and gate him.

That’s what I meant by the connection. 😊

  34. Ah, yes. Madame Shu’s curse partly came true in a way. 🙂 TQ still went back him.

  35. I noticed that he was particularly sensitive when people, like his brother Ji Zheng and now Tian Qi, thought of him as cruel and unjust. It bothered him, and he would ask them aggressively/defensively if they thought that he was a brutal guy.

I just noticed it now that you’ve brought it up. As much as he’s the General killer machine in the war he can’t handle it if the people close to him thinks he’s a brutal guy.

  36. As she was fanning him that night, she reorganized her thoughts…or rather she became resolved that she had to stay with Ji Heng to carry out her mission of vengeance.

She thought, ““If I get the trust of General Ji, he might be willing to help me find out the murderer of my parents. Maybe he can help to wash my father’s grievances in those years. Aside from the General, who still has such power in this mansion?”

I wanted to raise my hand and say, “Ji Zheng!!” Ji Zheng had power, although limited, to help her out too.

But what was more interesting here is that, later on, while she fanned him as he slept, she thought Ji Heng was familiar to her.

To me, this whole vengeance was intertwined with her feelings for him. While she was thinking of asking him to help her out to avenge her parents, she was also thinking how familiar he was to her.

  37. ‘I think the writer put that in to show that TQ wasn’t a “user” or a manipulative person.’

But everyone will think the opposite though. Like she’s the first one to get an authorised pass which Mr Shen doesn’t have.? 😄

  38. Right?

He doesn’t want people he cared about to be afraid of him and think that he was a lean mean killing machine. He wasn’t a monster. Killing in the war was something he had to do.

Even in the end, when the bad guy was killed, he wasn’t the one to kill him off. It was Ji Zheng who thrust the sword. 🙂

  39. I like the scene when Tian Qi was done with fanning him and she turned to leave, he started to have a bad dream, “Please don’t go. Don’t go.” She tried to wake him from his night terror, and when he did, he hugged her. lol.

I liked it because he sensed that she was leaving in his sleep.

I also thought the scene was funny because of the way his hair swooshed around. How did the director make it swoosh like that?

Then, when he realized who he was hugging, he threw her away and brushed off every molecule of TQ left on his robe. lol.

  40. To me, this whole vengeance was intertwined with her feelings for him. While she was thinking of asking him to help her out to avenge her parents, she was also thinking how familiar he was to her.

It’s a pity she didn’t have an inkling that it was JH all along what with the fireworks and kite.

How nice that he easily told her what’s on his mind especially regarding his regret of people dying because of him.

  41. yes. I like that scene, too, when he shared what was bothering him. I’m typing it up. 🙂

  42. Yes it was a funny scene. I liked it too. It’s their first hug. 🥰

Maybe the director told him to do it quickly so his long hair will swooshed 😁 That’s a lot of hair by the way. 😆

I’m glad he calmed himself though and asked her to walk with him.

  43. Here’s the conversation. I like this scene because he finally was opening up to her.

I like this Cdrama because it was all about our couple. No superfluous sideplots. No “fillers.” Everything was just about the main leads.

TQ: What I know is you’ve been suffering from insomnia. That’s because you think too much. You’ve too many things to worry about. It’s a mental disease. If you want to cure it, you have to find the source. I wonder if you can tell me the “knot” in your mind or anything you regret, maybe if you can say it, the insomnia will be cured.

Then, he shared what was bothering him. TQ was like his psychiatrist. (or his priest.)

JH: When I was a teenager, I tried to win my father’s compliment.

This was sad. He wanted his father’s affection but his father was getting scared of him because he was becoming stronger. His father had believed the fortune-teller’s prediction that his son was going to destroy him. The prediction became self-fulling.

JH: So I practiced marital arts every day. Then my Kungfu is the best in the army. My soldiers are also the best in the army. But I found that the way my father was looking at me became more and more distant. From that moment, I knew he started to hate me, to be on guard against me.

    Then JH shared his regret.

JH: As for regret, what I regret the most was someone trying to protect me lost their lives. I didn’t have time to save them, I just watched them die in front of me. As long as I close my eyes, this image enters my mind, I forced myself to stay awake. I told myself they won’t be back. But such a regret, how do I make up for it.

I like TQ’s reply here. Let me type it first.

  44. I like this part. I mentioned a priest earlier because I thought TQ was acting like a priest does in the confessional box. She was absolving him of his sins. He’d been torturing himself over something he couldn’t prevent. And she told him it was okay to let go and forgive himself.

TQ: I can’t do anything about those who have died. But my lord, in my opinion, you defend our country, and protect each citizen. If I’m one of those who died, I will not regret it. So my lord, please stop blaming yourself.

For me, the next scene was the highlight of this episode: she smoothened his knitted brows.

    https://i.imgur.com/NoBVpie.jpg

    She looked so pretty here.

    https://i.imgur.com/w3fsgoG.jpg

Of course, he didn’t like his gut reaction so he turned away.

  45. So true. He let JZ kill off the bad guy and rightly so. I thought that was a cool move.

Awww he let TQ touch his brows to even it out. I think he felt something for her then. But since it’s a big no no so that’s why he turned away. Otherwise he would have said IMPUDENCE! 😆

Oh and he told her the truth about his insomnia too but it comes with a threat that she will die if her loyalty changes. I like that he was outright honest with her.

She didn’t really get punished did she, after she confessed what she knows about the events with Madam Shu.

  46. Oh? Was that their first hug??

Okay. I’ve to mark that. I’ll take a screenshot.

  47. I know right? He didn’t shout, “Impudence!” at her for touching his face when he got mad at her in Episode 5 (was it Ep 5?) when she touched his hand to wipe off the inkstain.

This time, she was “wiping” off the worry stain on his brows. Awwww…

  48. Agree! The main plot for this drama is the main couple itself and even with a one sided love included in it, it was still nice. 😊

I liked that she was like a priest/psychiatrist to him.

I believe the turning point for our couple was when TQ said she will keep working hard to get rid of his nightmares. JH was just looking at her.

Yes, TQ looked pretty there. 😍

  49. I also like that he admitted why he kept around. He didn’t want to at first because he believed it would give TQ power over him. TQ could use it as a leverage to get what she wanted.

But now, he decided to open up about his weakness because he was demanding her loyalty. I don’t think it worked that, exactly. lol. But at least, he was moving along and “developing.”

JH: I kept you around because I’ve been suffering from nightmares for a long time, I lay awake at night. But that day I suddenly realized when you were by my side, I could sleep peacefully at night, without any nightmares. But tonight, it failed.

I wasn’t going to tell you about this because I shouldn’t show a sign of weakness. But now I’ve told you because I want to exchange my weakness for your loyalty. If one day you betray me, I will definitely make the end of you worse than Madam Shu.

He thought loyalty was something he could barter. I’ll give you this, if you give me this.

    lol.

  50. Yes! I love that moment too, in the bedroom when she told him that she’d dispel all his nightmare.

She was cute there. She was complaining about one arm being bigger than the other because of all that fanning. But she promised that tomorrow, she’d find another method to get rid of his nightmare.

He just stared at her the whole time.

I like the viki sub better. She said that she was going to be his sleeping aid.

I’ve to take a screenshot of that, too.

  51. Yes it’s their first hug.

I like that, she was wiping off the worry stain on his brow. 🥰

    I think it is episode 5. 😊

Annnd just like that she wanted to touch his face. 😁 First sign of having a crush. 🥰 Llok at that handsome face though with the perfect lips to boot. 🥰🥰🥰

  52. yeaaaah. She almost touched his lips then. (ooooh. I’m glad there wasn’t any coronavirus yet going on when they filmed this.)

She’d been thinking, “When he’s awake, he’s so fierce. He’s always bullying me. But when he’s asleep, he doesn’t seem cold at all.

After her staring session, lol, she wondered why she had that weird feeling like she’d known him before.

She said, “It’s strange to stay by his side. it makes me feel like something familiar. It’s like I knew him long time ago. Why do I feel this way?”

And then she dreamed of that kite scene.

    Kite = symbol of apology

In her subconscious, he was already apologizing to her for how he’s been treating her harshly and bullying her all the time.

The drooling part was so extra, though.

  53. ‘He thought loyalty was something he could barter. I’ll give you this, if you give me this.’

But his one came with a threat too 😁 But at the same time, TQ felt that he vulnerable too so she understood him then. That’s why she vowed to cure him. 😍

Oh she said too, that she feels like she knows him from a long time ago. I didn’t see this properly last time. ☺️

  54. @agdr03,

I’m sorry. I’ve to finish this later. I’ve a phone conference at 9 to prep for.

You can post more and I’ll respond later. I’ll just continue after my teleconference.

    Good night!

  55. ‘The drooling part was so extra, though.‘

We needed to see the cold JH back. 😂

Oh there’s our first kiss scene too. 😊 So this was what JH meant when he said that whenever he flies a kite, she forgives him. I totally missed that on YouTube.

  56. When did he say that? I forgot! Did he already know she was Zhao’er?

I know she said, when she was exiled to the herb fields and after Ning’er accused of tampering with the face cream, that it wouldn’t matter if he flew a thousand kites for her, she wasn’t going to forgive him. 😂

  57. You go ahead, no worries. 👍🏻

I’ll see how far I can go. There’s only another 15 minutes anyway so I’ll finish it. ☺️

  58. Whoa!

    This episode was important then?

We got our first proxy hug (meaning, NOT the real hug because it was accidental but it technically was the their first body contact) and our first proxy kiss (it didn’t really happen because she only dreamt it but it was still the first lip contact).

  59. Lol. My secretary just texted me a reminder and agenda, and I dropped everything. She’s really the boss of me. 😂😂 🤷‍♀️

    Bye.

  60. No. He didn’t know she’s Zhao’er till episode 25?

Yes, TQ said that and the history for that was this dream of hers. 😄

JH told her about the kite in episode 26 ( you haven’t seen it yet) to confirm to her that he’s the younger brother she’s known when she was young. You have to watch it because it’s the part where TQ severed all of their ties together. I felt their pain, it was heartbreaking. 😭

  61. Go! Go! Go! You wouldn’t want to upset her. 🤔😂

  62. Yes! We got our first proxy hug and first dream kiss. 😄 I didn’t think their lips touched though? It’s the angle of their heads. But it’s still nice. I think if it was real I’d squeal here big time. 😆

To think there was a few kisses too. Sigh…. 🙁

  63. After the therapy session from the night before, he’s an extra nice General. He sends food for TQ. ☺️

A reward would have been ok too but food is something else. 😉

Ha! It’s only because of his insomnia that’s why TW will stay by his side. Sure! Sure! 😆

  64. Hahaha. Funny scene with JZ being the Fairy/Ancestor Flower God and JH playing his part by pretending there’s no one there. 😂

Oh take note, JH said to JZ that you’ve played a prank on TQ, watch out because he holds grudges. So true! 😱

  65. I only realised in this episode too that Lord Sun Sunri(?) has been endorsing JH to His Majesty without telling him and that’s why he asks JH for favors in return. 😏

It made more sense now. 😊

    That’s the end of episode 8. 😊

    Thanks for the space. 😉

    😴😴😴

  66. She drooled because her mouth was open when she was dreaming of that kiss with JH, lol.

He was about to smack her head but he stopped because he remembered what TQ said about getting rid of his nightmare. He was going to spare her.

But when she started whimpering about things in her dreams, “My…my lord. My…my…my lord. Don’t…don’t come over here. Please don’t. This is improper. This is improper, No..no..no…” and she GIGGLED, he was so grossed out by her perverted dreams which involved HIM that he kicked her. lol.

I would have done the same thing, too, to be honest.

I laughed when he ordered his sheets changed because she drooled on them. “There’s your saliva on it. It’s disgusting!” It would have been hysterical if he’d known she was a girl…because girls have cooties.

You know, that’s one thing I wouldn’t have minded the writer adding…the couple going over the past, and JH realizing that he’d been treating Zhao’er like this.

  67. Yes, after literally kicking her out, he asked Mr. Sheng if TQ had eaten breakfast and ordered him to give her food, too.

What’s noticeable here is that he didn’t invite his own brother to join him for breakfast. Ji Zheng simply said that he was leaving, and JH didn’t ask if he’d eaten or what.

    lol.

    JZ noticed his soli
But brother noticed his solicitude and rightfully wondered why. “Why do you care so much about your Dr. Qian?” He saved her when she fell in the pond and he actually dove in the water to rescue her which, in JZ’s words, wasn’t his style at all.

JH reasoned out that one, he couldn’t allow their only link to the murderer to die, and two, TQ had been serving him.

In other words, rescuing her was: one, the rational thing to do and two, the ethical thing to do.

He didn’t mention his feelings. He only gave logical answers.

Then, he asked JZ, “Am I cold and cruel person in your heart?”

No. It was actually the opposite. 🙂 JZ thought that he was NOT cold and cruel so he wondered why he was treating TQ differently.
JZ suspected that he was affected emotionally, that he was exhibiting unusual consideration for TQ that opposite to what he originally declared he would do to TQ.

And JZ wondered whether subconsciously JH sensed that TQ was female so he was treating her favorably.

  68. I like how the brothers are staking their territories here. They’re testing each other without being outright mean and confrontational.

JZ pointed out that since the case was over, it was time to send her back to the Medical Academy. He was worried about TQ’s safety should JH find out about her disguise.

But JH said she still had value to him, and now he shot back that he didn’t realize that JZ cared a lot about TQ.

It was JZ’s turn to be on the defensive. He admitted that he found her funny. He liked making friends so this wasn’t unusual.

JH then admitted, “To be honest, I keep him by my side because he can make my insomnia better.”

JZ: Your concern for him– it’s all just because of your insomnia?
JH: Otherwise, what do you think?

Meaning, what was Ji Zheng trying to imply? What other possible reason could Ji Heng have to insist on TQ remaining at his side?

lol. Of course, JZ couldn’t come out and say that his brother was attracted to someone of the same sex. And JH, that virtuous guy, lol, this idea was gross and preposterous. He kicked her out earlier when he realized that she was dreaming about him, didn’t he?

  69. Yes, this scene was cute, too.

I can see why TQ thought that JZ was the moon and somebody she could have fun with while JH was the sun who she could only look at from afar.

JZ was supposedly the “Flower God” but she wasn’t scared to yell at it, “Flower God, can you stay away? It was all my fault!” She wouldn’t dare raise her voice like that with General Ji. lol.

Moreover, she didn’t get mad at JH for taking part in the trick, too. She only got mad at JZ.

It’s probably because Ji Heng told JZ to quit fooling her. “Stop it, Zheng. Don’t do that.” He didn’t prolong the joke like JZ did.

Like you, I also liked the way he warned JZ to be careful because Dr. Tian Qi held grudges. I thought that was something a husband would say about his wife and his wife’s temperamental ways.

And oh! He said, “Impudence!” again.

  70. Yes. It made sense now. Each time Sun Sunri interfered or spoke up on JH’s behalf (unsolicited), he had an ulterior motive. He wanted to make JH feel obligated to return the favor that he hadn’t asked for in the first place.

    What a detestable guy.

But I like how both TQ and JH had the same animosity towards the same people. First, it was Madame Shu and now, this Lord Sun. They were on the same wavelengths. They didn’t trust them.

  71. Wait. I watched that scene. It was the fireworks scene, right? He asked her to watch the fireworks with him one last time and she said “Nope! Bye!”

Episodes 24 and 25 are still on my to watch list.

  72. But when she started whimpering about things in her dreams, “My…my lord. My…my…my lord. Don’t…don’t come over here. Please don’t. This is improper. This is improper, No..no..no…” and she GIGGLED, he was so grossed out by her perverted dreams which involved HIM that he kicked her. lol.

Yup! To think he had a calm happy look on his face when he woke up but TQ destroyed it all by having that dream. 🤣 Poor thing, so early in the morning and she got kicked. It’s similar when TQ used his clothes to blow her nose while mourning the late princess. JH threw his clothes then, this time he only said to wash it. LOL.

  73. You know, that’s one thing I wouldn’t have minded the writer adding…the couple going over the past, and JH realizing that he’d been treating Zhao’er like this.

The writer did that though when they were walking along the mansion grounds? After they got together? But maybe that was only a small bit of reminding JH how badly he treated her. JH said ‘when have I treated you badly?’. TQ said ‘how can you confidently say that?’. So JH said ‘ok you can punish me then.’

  74. ‘No. It was actually the opposite. 🙂 JZ thought that he was NOT cold and cruel so he wondered why he was treating TQ differently. JZ suspected that he was affected emotionally, that he was exhibiting unusual consideration for TQ that opposite to what he originally declared he would do to TQ.’

Yeah, it was about the consideration for TQ. Why would he care if she’s eaten or not? hehehe All of a sudden JH are doing things that is not normally him. 🙂

I agree, the way they talk it’s like there’s double meaning but without any hostilities. I liked that in them. 🙂

There’s no way JH will admit that he is attracted to the same sex, never! He is a General too! LOL. I liked that there’s still ways for him to keep TQ by his side without making it to mean that way. heheheh

  75. And oh! He said, “Impudence!” again.

Oh! I missed it. Which scene was it exactly?

Moreover, she didn’t get mad at JH for taking part in the trick, too. She only got mad at JZ.

Right. 🙂 She wouldn’t dare and besides it was all JZ’s idea anyway. True too, this way JZ can be playful at doing tricks to her but JH will not do this. heehhe

  76. Wait. I watched that scene. It was the fireworks scene, right? He asked her to watch the fireworks with him one last time and she said “Nope! Bye!”
Episodes 24 and 25 are still on my to watch list.

Yes! It was when JH hasn’t fully recovered yet but he desperately wanted to talk to her.

Do you want to watch together? Episode 24 and 25? Let me know ok. I’m free, the usual time tonight as I’m working from home. 🙂

  77. 😈 Same here. I too liked that he found credible reasons/excuses to make her stay without going the bromance route.

See? I used the word bromance correctly there, a romance between two men.

Others thought early on that there was bromance going on. But JH insisted, at first, that it was just duty calling. If he wanted his mystery solved, he had to save TQ. As a bonus reason, he was obligated to save TQ for her services rendered. He wasn’t a “user,” using her for his mission then abandoning her when she was in trouble. He wasn’t like Dong Zichun (or whatever his name was) left his sweetheart Madame Chu to face the consequences of their revenge scheme by herself.

Next, he needed her at his side as sleeping aide. He kept her because she said she’d get rid of his insomnia.

After she took an arrow for him, his reason to keep her beside him became brotherhood. She took an arrow for him do they were blood brothers. She was “his man.”

He only admitted it was a “bromance” later on — when he forced her to marry Chunhua.

But even then, it wasn’t a bromance because she was really a girl dressed up as a guy.

  78. He said impudence when TQ scolded the Flower Angel for distracting her.

JH said, “Impudence! Who are you talking to?” or something like that. 😂

Yes, she didn’t get mad with JH although he was in on that last trick. He allowed it to happen. But he stopped JZ when he thought he’d gone too far teasing TQ.

No, I don’t think he’d tease TQ but he did hide things from her to get her to act in a certain way. 😆 Like that whole Shaman nonsense.

  79. He wasn’t a “user,” using her for his mission then abandoning her when she was in trouble.

He didn’t even punish TQ after she gave her reason for hiding what she knows about Madam Shu. It was all credible reasons/excuses, no one can fault him on that. The people that thinks there’s romance were the ones that sees them always, like those guards who sneaked at his bedroom door. Yes, your bromance term fits here. 🙂

‘He only admitted it was a “bromance” later on — when he forced her to marry Chunhua.’

Oooohh yeah, he’s had it when he said you’ll marry Chunhua and that’s the bromance there. He had to let him go.

  80. I’m teleworking too because of this coronavirus.

But I think we should do 10 first. I did a write-up for 9 but I skimmed Ep 10 because I was in a hurry to catch up with the rest.

  81. Oh my goodness! How could I miss that? I see it. 😂 There’s a count for us, 2nd time now for Impudence! I must have been laughing that’s why I didn’t see it. LOL.

With the Shaman, well JH didn’t need to request TQ to act any different that’s why he hid it from her. hahahhah It just worked perfectly because he knows what his Mom’s going to think about it. Smarty pants! 😂

  82. Okie, let’s do episode 10 tonight, same time. 🙂 I won’t be late. 😁

Where’s episode 9 review? 🙂 It’s when TQ gets shot by the arrow and she sings while having flowers on her head. 🙂

  83. Silly me! I went back on your threads for Dr Cutie and you had a first impression then you went on to episode 9 straight away. 🙂

It’s just right to do episode 10 tonight.

    Please confirm ok.

    Thank you. 🙂

  84. Okay. Episode 10 tonight for you.

6:30 am again for me. I’ll have to end by 8:30 so I can prep for my 9 am briefing.

I know why you thought I showed up early. 🙂 We had daylight savings last Sunday so we moved our clocks back an hour. Sorry. Is 9:30 pm too early for you?

  85. I knew it! I was going to ask you whether you had DST, hence I was late. LOL. Our DST will end on April 5. 🙂

No, it’s better 9:30 pm my time. 🙂 No worries if you have to go. We can do this all the way for Dr Cutie and her Handsome General. 🥰

    We are set! Thanks! 😃

  86. Good night!! Episode 10 then.

  87. Night! Night!

  88. Thank you for sharing your online chat. Such fangirls!

I was thinking about this part: “He’d been torturing himself over something he couldn’t prevent. And she told him it was okay to let go and forgive himself.
TQ: I can’t do anything about those who have died. But my lord, in my opinion, you defend our country, and protect each citizen. If I’m one of those who died, I will not regret it. So my lord, please stop blaming yourself.”

I remember thinking about this passage in the last episodes. It was a wise and perceptive speech and relieved JH’s stress somewhat at that moment. But this was hypothetical or true at that time with those circumstances. Later when he couldn’t tell her that it wasn’t he who killed her parents, TQ still blamed/punished him because of her vow for vengeance. He let her, although he could have tried to remind her of these words and substitute ‘my parents’ for ‘I’.

If he had been successful, she would have been stuck and unable to fulfil her need. So he accepted blame and a stabbing and would have over and over. The confrontation on the bridge nearly killed me. What a man. 😍

  89. ‘The confrontation on the bridge nearly killed me. What a man. 😍’

Waaaaaa! Right! What a man! That’s how I felt too @Fern 😭 My heart broke for him especially when he asked her if they can watch the fireworks together as it might be the last time. 😭

I admire him though because he still wanted to protect his Mom.

  90. I’m here! 🙋🏻‍♀️ A bit early but gadgets are all ready to go. 😁

  91. Getting ready too

  92. Listening to the introduction song.

  93. 6:30am. I’m here.

Why are you listening to the intro song? 🙂 I skip that part.

I liked her honesty. “I didn’t really want to save him. I was tripped!”

  94. What great purpose it was to accidentally get shot by an arrow meant for JH.

TQ felt sheepishly about the whole thing. 😄

  95. TQ: Did he find out that I’m a girl?
    Aunty Hong: Yes, he did.

I don’t think she meant that literally. To me, she was reflecting on his odd behavior. He was displaying feelings/attention that were very appropriate when directed towards a girl.

That’s why she mentioned that General Ji had allowed her to take care of TQ and given the carriage for her to ride back home once she was recovered. She thought that he was showing much attention to TQ, unusual if TQ had been a real guy.

“General Ji is really nice to you.”

She added, “One day, I saw him looking after you all night. He valued you so much.”

TQ answered, “He believed that I save him so he treated me like that.”

    Aunty Hong just smiled.

  96. I was surprised the arrow didn’t hit her collarbone or one of the ribs. lol. But she was lucky that she was wearing a corset. That was an extra layer of protection.

  97. TQ couldn’t look at Aunty Hong when she said you seem very important to JH. She’s putting it down to saving his life but I’m sure she felt tingly inside because he took care of her all night.

  98. Hahaha.

And it was his first time taking care of somebody all night. 🙂

TQ: I risked my life for General Ji. At another crucial time, he’ll surely help me.

Awww… and so it starts. Her expectations that he’d help her.

  99. True! True! The way JH took care of her is the way you would care if you like that person as a woman. ☺️

  100. Oh she’s so popular after saving JH. 😂

  101. Oh. Is this why she would like to have an “access permit” like that Masked Man? I remember she asked General Ji who else had that kind of access permit.

I like that two women were doctors, and not just ornaments, in this story.

  102. Yes the expectations started already and true that there will be a few times that he will save her. ☺️

Wow! General JH even had a makeover of her house. 😄 So funny , Dr Shifu said you’ve surpassed Mr Shen in closeness with the General. 😂

  103. Awww… General Ji told Mr. Sheng to reorganize her place and to clean it because he knew she was coming home.

Her mission was accomplished, though. She was the most trusted person by General Ji’s side. And her influence was assumed stronger than Mr. Sheng’s.

The medical talk with Dr. Ding seemed irrelevant to me. The only way I could connect it to the next scene was the bit about doctors requiring integrity and morality.

“That’s the key for us doctors. Morality. An immoral person doesn’t deserve the title of doctor.”

But what JH demanded of her — sleep in his quarters — seemed immoral to her.

  104. And I noticed that she was popular among the women in particular. Almost all of her greeters were women. She was a new hero. She had a fanclub??

  105. And that’s why Mr. Sheng would be jealous of her, right? hahaha. But TQ was ready for Mr. Sheng.

Overall, Mr. Sheng was like their “chaperone” and “relationship coach.”

  106. Agree, I’m not sure where it fits too, this part about doctors having integrity and morality but maybe we can connect it to her saving JH in the end because firstly she is a doctor. She’s meant to save lives.

Aunty Hong and her are a great pair indeed. ☺️

  107. Ha! I like this next scene. She was suspicious about the bed. Not only was she expected to help him go to sleep, she was now expected to sleep with him in the same room. “Now I have my own bed?”

She wondered if she had to sleep there every night.

And she was the one who pointed out that “morality” was the key quality of a doctor.

That and a “kind heart.” She’d promised Dr. Ding that she was going to be full of integrity and wouldn’t go astray.

And now there was this bed. hahaha.

  108. Yes about the permit pass. She just wanted to know who else has it and it did help her investigate Sun Sunri’s son and to humiliate him.

JH prepared two lots of bed for her. 😂 One in his bedroom too.

First things first – ‘don’t get me wrong. I’m just considering you’re wound as you haven’t recovered.’

    Sure! 🙄😂 So attentive now.

  109. I really do wonder why he’d put a bed there for her. Didn’t he order her room rearranged and cleaned out for her arrival?

So why was he keeping her at his side?

TQ: My lord is this prepared for me?
JH: Don’t get me wrong. I just set it for convenience. I know it clearly that every time I sleep you slack off and sleep beside me. How many times have I warned you?
TQ: In that case why did you set a bed for me in your room? You can just act as usual and order me to get out.

Lol. I like our re-watches because we’re hearing refrains or repetitions. Here, she said something she’d repeat later in Episode 22.

His normal behavior with her: bossy, bullying.
His abnormal behavior with her: being nice.

No wonder he kept promising her in the end that he’d be nice to her. That was going to be his new normal.

  110. We’re watching at the same pace. 🙂

  111. That connection is awesome 😂

Morality and sleeping in the same room as your boss. 🤔😱😂

    Love it! 😍

  112. Morality-schmorality. I know this “cohabitation” is a common trope in Kdramas but I like how it was done here.

And remember in Ep 22 when he woke up in the middle of the night, shocked at the idea that he’d been sleeping with a girl all this time? hahaha. HE started it. He was the one who made her sleep with him out of “concern”.

  113. True. The bed is really a wonder because there’s nothing logically that can define what it is for.

Is it so he can sleep well? TQ is not a guard so she can’t protect him incase of someone wanting to kill him. He wants to protect TQ from who though? 😄

  114. JH explained his rationale:

JH: I’m just worried about your wound and concerned about your health. So you can rest there. Now, if you fall asleep in my room, I won’t scold you anymore.

TQ: (muttering under her breath) Pffftt. You just want me to be able to take care of you conveniently.
    JH: What did you say?
    TQ: Nothing. Nothing.

I like it when she grumbled in his hearing. This wasn’t the only time. Didn’t she do this when she bandaged his hand. And in last episode? After he kicked her out of his room?

Her grumbling in his hearing meant that she was no longer terrified of him. She was rebelling, although not openly. She couldn’t speak up her mind because of his status, but he couldn’t stop her from thinking what she was thinking.

I’d hate it if she was a doormat all the way through.

  115. TQ thought it was a convenience FOR HIM. She’d be at his beck and call all night.

As for him, he wanted her there beside him. 🙂

  116. Oh did you notice it was JH’s turn to be all tingly as he looked down when RQ said , I realised you’re not ruthless. I sincerely felt that you were worried about me and your afraid I might die.

She said a lot more but she everything that he wanted to hear. He was touched! 🥰

And then she asked for Avoidance of Death Medallion. 😂 I totally didn’t pay attention on this part. 😂 He didn’t reply though. 😬

  117. Ahhh… I’m beginning to understand his reasoning.

Listen to the way his voice suddenly sped up here. He was speaking rapidly.

JH: I used to live in the army. If someone defends another from a sword attack, they will become blood brothers. Tian Qi, you defended me from getting shot. I will protect you in the future. If you think these are just empty words, you can also tell me what you want. I’ll give you a reward.

He was greatly moved by her action. She took the arrow for him. And since this was their first meeting, he was “pouring” all his attention on her. He wanted to thank her by pledging his loyalty to her.

    Hahahaha.

Remember all that talk about how he wanted her loyalty so he was revealing a weakness (his insomnia) to her?

Well he was pledging his loyalty to her, too, because he thought she PROVED her loyalty to him by taking the arrow. He didn’t know that it was all accidental.

He was reading way more into her rescue that he needed to.

He was profoundly affected by her risking her own life that he was willing to give her anything. That was the “reward” he was talking about. He was indebted to her so he would pay her back with a reward, anything she asked for.

  118. Yup, there were a few grumblings that JH heard but she was still able to get out of it alive. 😁

I think it’s cute too that she does that and the reaction that she gets is funny to look at. 😄

Awww. Don’t fan me tonight. Rest up for a few days. What a very considerate boss. 🥰 I like this talk while their both resting in their own beds. 😁

  119. I’ve written down the whole conversation before. Let me repost it.

I thought I’d posted on Episode 10 already but I couldn’t find it on the blog. It must have been one of those posts I forgot to “send.”

  120. It’s a good thing he didn’t see that it was just an accident that she got shot. 😁

See, here he goes again with you and your life belongs to me. If I don’t want you dead, I will never let you die in front of me.

I think he’s says it to mean that he will never kill her or let her die. That’s why TQ doesn’t need the avoidance death medallion. 😍 It just sounds off when he says you’re life belongs to me.

  121. Here are my notes on this whole “get-out-death-punishment.” I must have included this in another post.

    JH: … I’ll give you a reward.
TQ: (instantly declining) No no no. (then she suddenly lights up) Reward? My lord, can I really get what I want?
JH: You sly one. I said so much, but you only heard the word “reward” didn’t you?

lol. He wanted her to feel MOVED that that they’ve become “blood brothers” and that he offered to protect her in the future. But she ignored his pretty speech and zoned in on the reward aspect until she remembered something that could be useful to her survival. To him, however, she appeared to be mercenary. She only wanted the reward; she wasn’t paying attention to his loyalty pledge.

TQ: My lord, you said I could have a reward.
JH: Alright, what do you want? Say it.
TQ: (touching her hat. she does this when she’s thinking) I defended you with my own body that day. So can you possibly reward me with a death-free gold medal?

Meaning, a life for a life. She saved him from death, he wanted a get-out-jail card or a get-out-of-execution card that would allow her to avoid his death punishment for her.

In the previous episode, during the arrow scene, before she fainted, she asked him to promise her that no matter what happens, he wouldn’t sentence her to death. She was always worried of his threats to kill her at will.

JH: I’m not the Imperial Majesty. I’ve no right to give you such a medal.
TQ: Please don’t get me wrong. The kind of gold medal I want isn’t bestowed by His Imperial Majesty. It’s a personalized medal for me to avoid death.

lol. She knew that once Ji Heng discovered her disguise, she was dead. She was anticipating his reaction and preempting his punishment.

JH: A personalized medal? What does that mean?
TQ: Judging from the day I started serving you, the only possible way I’d face death is to be killed by you. You always want me beheaded –
    JH: You – (protesting)
TQ: (interrupting him) But with this medal, if I accidentally annoy you one day, I can protect myself by showing it.

lol. Although her argument sounded so childish, it was a legitimate concern for her. He was speechless. She’d accused him of being thoughtless, hotheaded, and bloodthirsty. And remember I told you that he was sensitive when he thought Ji Zheng perceived him as cold and brutal.

  122. I’m so glad we have brothers that are bonded by respect through years of growing up together. No hard feelings at all between them in this drama. 😊

  123. After TQ explained her reason for wanting the death-free gold medal, Ji Heng thought she was being impudent. BUT he didn’t call out “Impudence!” anymore.

JH: (sputtering) You…you…you’re really getting fearless. You used to do everything as I said. Now you’ve learned to talk back.

Yes. She was reverting to a cheeky Zhao’er.

TQ: I used to be terribly afraid of you, but I don’t fear you anymore.
    JH: Why not?
TQ: Because I discovered that you aren’t that ruthless. The day I got shot, I could feel that you were truly worried about me and that you don’t want me dead.

There. Good point. JH’s actions that night proved that he was all bark, and no bite. He wasn’t going to kill her. But hmmmm…makes you wonder why she asked for that death-free gold medal, right? If she knew he had no intentions of killing her ever, why did she ask for this medal? Was she teasing him all along?

TQ: (continuing) Besides, even though you’re a general, you never kill innocent people. You kill people with justified reasons. You also pity them and even want to cry. But you can’t. You have to hold back tears. And it lingers in your mind, day and night. When I reflect on this, you’re also pitiful. So I’m not afraid of you anymore. (They look at each other) So now can you give me a death-free gold medal? If you give me one, I’ll become like a cat with nine lives…to be pardoned nine times.

She has a weird reasoning. Why ask for the reward when she didn’t need it to save her life. And that’s why Ji Heng accused her of wanting the GOLD.

JH: (smiling) You’re really…! I think the reason you want that medal is not to be pardoned from death but just for the gold. (she smiles) I’m going to sleep now.
TQ: (she runs to get the fan) My lord, let me cool you down with a fan.
JH: No need. You’re not fully recovered. Just have some rest these days.
    TQ: Then…what should I do?
JH: You can go to bed.
    TQ: Huh?
    JH: Are you questioning me?
TQ: Ohh… (then she backs away to go to her bed)

She didn’t understand why he called her to sleep in the same room with him.

  124. It was all about the reward for TQ. You’re right in pointing out that she would be put to death because she pretended to be a man. That’s why she wanted this reward so bad.

JH couldn’t counter attack what she said as it’s all true. He did seem cold blooded and the azaleas are witnesses. 😄

  125. Awww JH said to himself, this TQ – how could he look so elegant, pretty and gentle? 🥰

Me – Don’t look at me like that My Lord. 🥰

  126. And this whole scene marked a new milestone. Although he was still bossy with her, he regarded her as friend, too.

    TQ: Then…I’ll sleep here.
    JH: Quiet.
TQ: Then you shouldn’t scold me tomorrow.
    JH: Shut up!
TQ: My lord, could you reconsider giving me a death-free gold medal?
    JH: Tian Qi!
TQ: Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. I’ll sleep right now.

Now…she was annoying him. Ordinarily, she would have shut up after his first command. But now, that she knew that she was one of the privileged few, more like a friend, she was taking liberties.

But as she was settling down to sleep, he called out to her. He was going to have the last word.

JH: Listen carefully. I won’t give you the medal. Because your body and your life both belong to me. If I don’t want you dead, you’ll never die in front of me. Will you remember?
    TQ: Yes.

Yes, but she would forget this a few times. And he would have to figure out what he actually meant by these “big” words of his.

  127. Yes, he was an azalea murderer but he changed though.

And he couldn’t help changing for her. He was changing to adapt to her ways.

  128. Oh we get our first drinking from the same cup. 😁

I liked the dialogue though, ‘stop sucking up to me. It’s just tea, it’s not a treasure. 😆

  129. I have notes about this scene, too. lol.

He was offended that she didn’t want to share his saliva….duh! Coming from him who thought that her saliva on his bedsheet was “disgusting,” what more with saliva on the cup and in the tea?

You know, that’s how you get mono. When my kids were young, I warned them never ever to share water bottles with their school friends. Because of mono.

  130. hahaha. He said it so succinctly.

But then, she was over-the-top with her praises. It was obvious that she was only fawning over him. There was no sincerity at all in her words.

  131. I like reading those conversations that you put here. 😍 It does get hard taking it in especially when your trying to read along and quickly. Thanks 😉

Yes, he definitely changed to adapt to her ways. ☺️

  132. The library scene.

He put his book down and saw Tian Qi dusting a box. He thought to himself, “This Tian Qi. A man. How could he be so gentle and beautiful?”

But when she glanced at him, he frowned at her. She panicked, thinking that there was something on her face that offended him. “My lord, is my face stained with dirt?”

He answered, “No, I don’t want to see you. Get out.”
So she left him wondering what was wrong with him. “He’s really moody. There was absolutely no sign of him getting mad. Anyway, I’m not in trouble.”

Hahaha. She believed she didn’t cause JH’s moodiness when in fact she did. She disturbed him in ways that he himself doesn’t understand (but we do, of course) so he wanted her out of sight.

I like this scene because it showed that he recognized her features as feminine. He was attracted to her *feminine* side. Tian Qi wasn’t the least bit masculine. If he’d been attracted to her masculinity, then it would have been same sex attraction. lol.

  133. I’ve to write them down so I can remember quickly. I really thought I’d written about this episode 10 and posted about it. I’ve the long dialogues all set to go.

  134. I’d be disgusted too. Oh yeah it’s a big no no to share drinking bottles especially with younger kids. 😬 ah yes, mono.

I can’t believe there’s a lot of time in this drinking from the same cup scene. 😆 If she knew how to fake her praises then JH knows when she’s doing it and therefore makes it harder for her to escape her situation. 😄

  135. Here’s the tea scene.

TQ was bribed by Ms. Kang to deliver tea to Ji Heng. This was when she got the idea that she could benefit from matchmaking Ji Heng. lol.

JH: My lord, Here’s some herbal tea Ms Kang made. Do you want to take a break and have some tea?
TQ: When did you start to work for her and bring tea?
JH: (lying) I just saw Ms Kang, a weak girl, carrying this tea and waiting for you at the door. I can’t help doing this.
TQ: (thinking) If I don’t get General J to drink this, how could I get more tips with an empty bowl. I have to let him drink it. (she pretends to smell the tea) This herbal tea smells refreshing even when the tea lid isn’t lifted. Ms. Kang is really good at making tea.
    JH: You understand tea?
TQ: My lord, I don’t understand tea but it smells good. I think it must be the best kind.
JH: (eyeing her suspiciously and sips tea) This tea is good. It’s flavored with effort.

But she wanted him to drink some more. He noticed her interest in the tea so he offered it back to her instead.

JH: Since you like it, it’s all yours.
    TQ: Thank you, my lord.

She realized that she was in trouble because there was no way she’d drink from the same cup.

I like that she was very conscious of preserving the propriety between the sexes, although she was pretending to be a boy. It had something to do with doctors and their morality. hahaha.

TQ: (thinking) Goodness. It’s inappropriate for us to use the same cup. The cup with the General’s saliva. That’s so embarrassing.

Yes, because it was going to be an INDIRECT KISS. See? She was about to breach the Morality Standards of Medical Doctors.

JH: (frowning at her) Why don’t you drink it?
TQ: This is the tea that you rewarded me with. I want to take it back and enshrine it. Burn incense for it every day to appreciate your kindness.
JH: Stop flattering me. It’s just a bowl of tea. You make it sound like a treasure. Just drink it as I said.

Yes, she was being obsequious here. I’m feeling second-hand embarrassment for her.

JH: (thinking to himself) Appreciate? He must feel disgusted to use the cup that I used. (scolding her) Impudence! How dare you despite the tea I drank?

    Oho!! That “impudence” word again!

TQ: You wronged me. How could I despise you? Even if I’m given a hundred lives, I won’t dare do that. My loyalty to you can be proven by heaven and earth.
JH: Are you going to drink it or not? (she swallows) How’s it?
TQ: It’s good. My lord, I’m really lucky to drink it.
    JH: Then finish it.

lol. Hoist on her own petard. Her fake compliments boomerang and got her good.

  136. Yeah, JH noticed the pretty in her now and so he doesn’t want to think about it. Glad it was his feminine side and not the masculine one. 😄

    Keep posting them please. ☺️

  137. I need to keep in mind that how dare you = impudence! 😂

That’s the third time then. 😊

Oh the boomerang did it’s work alright. 😄

  138. That incident with the tea and bribery gave TQ a brilliant idea. She could make money of Ji Heng and her CONNECTION to Ji Heng. She was going to make his admirers come out of the woodwork.

Now, this is funny now, knowing that in the last episode, she couldn’t stand other girls fawning over Ji Heng. She could be jealous, too.

She displayed all her goodies she got for him: there was an embroidered handkerchief…with a love poem on it. (his face! The thought of a love poem turned him off.)
    Boots with embroidery.
And what’s up with that orange handkerchief?? Or was it a handkerchief? TQ said, “That girl must be bold and passionate” so it must not have been a handkerchief but an article of clothing.

The funny thing about this was she gave him all the cheap stuff while she hoarded all the good and expensive gifts, like the red coral, the ginseng, and the painting.

hahaha. She’s so mercenary. Of course, JH was upset.

JH: I can impose a legal punishment on you.
TQ: How heavy is that? I’m just doing matchmaking. What charges will I get?
JH: As my servant, you should be loyal only to me. But what have you done? You betrayed me to please other women. You sell me for benefits. You received gifts not for any good deeds. You committed fraud.

But I noticed that he didn’t threaten to behead her. That was an improvement.

I also noticed that she betrayed him to please other WOMEN. Better that than TQ betraying him to please another man.

But he was right to be upset. She sort of “pimped” him. 🙂 Sure, she engaged in bribery. But that wasn’t so bad as the fact that she pimped him out. She sold him.

  139. So now she’s feeling close to JH so she’s taken care of all the ladies who wants to be with him. 🙄😂

    There’s her laughter again. 😆

He knows her so well. 😁 Now their even bargaining on what percentage each other get. 😂 I like that their honest enough. 😂

I love it when he’s stern with her in a lower voice level. Like when he says, move aside. 😆🥰

  140. Later, when he was talking to Mr. Sheng, he revealed that he had come to tolerate TQ’s petty greediness Underneath it all, he realized that TQ was a kind-hearted soul…which was part of TQ’s Doctor’s Creed earlier, right?

He complained to Mr. Sheng, “She really got an original masterpiece! This Tian Qi! She really collected loads of treasure using my name. (lol. She was good with business??) I’m afraid that in a few days, his collection will be more abundant than my own.

Hahaha. He didn’t have to worry, though. All of those things, she acquired in HIS name. He should have felt proud that his “marriage-ability” fetched a high price in the market.

Then he saw Mr. Sheng laughing.

    JH: What’s so funny?
Sheng: Nothing. My lord, I don’t know if I should say it.
    JH: What?
Sheng: I found that since DR. Tian saved the General, the General came to trust him more than ever. And you no longer doubted his background.
JH: (his excuse) I just figured it out. People like him just profit on small money gained with some little tricks and some nice words. But he’s still honest and kind.

In other words, JH considered her profiteering as something trivial and small-time. He was more concerned that she was honest and kind.

Sheng: My lord, I have another thing.
    JH: Say it.
Sheng: You’re not cold and indifferent as before. And you aren’t avoiding people anymore. Perhaps you’ve been influenced by Dr. Tian. Your mood has become easier than ever to grasp.
JH: If there’s nothing else, you can leave now. (when Sheng was gone) I can be influenced by him.

I think this discovery about the change in him bothered him because he didn’t call her for three days. TQ said so herself. She was worried that he hadn’t asked for her service. She was worried that she offended him with that whole bribery and had to regain his trust again.

So she went to the Treasure House to buy him something to appease him and win his trust back.

  141. Agree. She did sold him out. And he can charge her. But he didn’t punish her at all, he just said take care of it. 😊

Aww Matchmaker Shen said that JH trusts TQ more since the incident. It’s true. That’s why he wasn’t overly angry with her. I liked this one, you’re not as cold as before. Maybe TQ has influenced you. 😊

  142. I like the ending of this episode too. After all those gifts from JH’s admirers, it was TQ who gave him the right gift.

TQ: My lord I bought you a present. It suits you well.
JH: Which girl gave you that?
TQ: Not from any girl, I chose this gift for you.
JH: Let me have a look.

He saw the material and touched it. He realized what it was.

JH: Why did you give me this soft body armor?
TQ: Since the day we met, you’ve already been assassinated twice.

Mr. Sheng cleared his throat to show his displeasure. He didn’t want her to mention it and remind General Ji. He was worried that TQ would get shouted at for talking about it. But he didn’t realize that there was this new connection, new understanding between the two of them.

    But she continued.

TQ: So you’re now a target for assassination. I think you need this. What’s wrong, my lord. You don’t like it?
JH: Where did you get this?
TQ: I bought it from “Treasure House.” What’s wrong?
JH: Didn’t you know this soft body armor is precious in the previous dynasty? As long as it’s not stabbed by sword or knife, other common weapons won’t break it.

ohhh. Foreshadowing. She gave him a body armor but she was going to stab him.

TQ: Really? Then I’ve found a previous one. I bought it for only 50 strings of coins.
    JH: 50 strings of coins?
TQ: Even the box is more pricey.

In other words, she was conned.

TQ: My lord, why not try it on? ‘

He nodded. And she put it on him. I like the eye contact. He liked it.

TQ: My lord, this soft body armor suits you well. I’ve a good taste in fashion. (thinking to herself) Am I seeing it correctly? The General is smiling?!

Yes, I really like this moment. It reminded me of that time when she applied medicine on him. He was smiling at her, too. He was pleased with her.

TQ: (thinking to herself) That’s good. This time. I don’t need to worry about losing my position.

See there? I think we’re beginning to see that difference in their interaction. For JH, her gift meant something more. He was pleased because she was thinking of HIM. But for TQ, her gift was actually for HERSELF. She was pleased that he liked it because then she earned a bonus point for HERSELF. She was thinking of herself.

JH: You just mentioned how much you spent on these things?
TQ: My lord. The body armor is 50 strings. The box is 60 strings.
JH: What were you thinking? Buying a wrapping box more pricey than the gift?
TQ: I think the box suits you, my lord. I bought it without thinking.
JH: Shenghua. I like this soft armor very much. Reward Tian Qi with triple the price.
    Sheng: Yes, my lord.
TQ: (surprised) Thank you, my lord, thank you for the reward.
JH: You greedy. Stand up and go get your reward.
TQ: standing up then kneeling again.
JH: What’s wrong? Is the reward not enough?
TQ: No no my lord. I want to take a day off tomorrow to get out of the mansion.
    JH: Go out again?

    That’s it for now. 🙂

  143. I like it when they were bargaining. To me that was a sign that they were on even footing now.

If he was only the GENERAL in her mind, then she wouldn’t have dared offer him a lowball 20 (?) percent. lol. She was upset that she had to share an even 50-50 with him.

So yes, they were more on friendly terms than before.

Yes, I can see why you would like him when he used that “stern” voice on her. 🙂 He was outraged but was still in control of his feelings. In the olden times, he would have ordered her death penalty. lol.

  144. Yes, I like Mr Sheng’s comment. When you think about it, he was their #1 fan.

  145. He was so touched by her gift.

Squeal! That smile and look that he gave her. 🥰🥰🥰

Yes, she got his trust back definitely. It even came with another reward.

  146. ‘ohhh. Foreshadowing. She gave him a body armor but she was going to stab him.’

    It was too. 🙁

Yes, twice now he’s been moved by her but she on the other hand had motives. 🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s great to see the difference in their own perspective.

The bargaining scene was funny. She wouldn’t be able to do that had she not ‘saved’ his life. 😄

So true, Mr Shen is their number one fan. ☺️

  147. Thanks for another re-watch! 🙌🏻🍪🍪🍪

That was fun and a lot of meaningful conversations by our Dr and her General. 🥰

We finished at a good time too.

    Have a good day! ☺️

  148. I’ve just read your comments. I agree completely that Mr Sheng became their No. 1 fan, largely because TQ distracts JH and improves his mood. I am completely a fan of Mr Sheng.

I may have missed this bts in some other post. Have you both seen it?

  149. Yes @Fern , it was @pm3 that brought that here. We were laughing about Huang JunJie knowing how to drive but he doesn’t have a license. 😄

I’ve seen all of their bts. ☺️

  150. You’ve seen all their BTS? Do you have a list?
