Dr. Cutie: Eps 11 – 15 Open Thread

Agdr03 and I are doing a rewatch of Ep 11 tomorrow at 6:30 am EST. Feel free to join us. lol. I know you’re lurking anyway.: 🙂

Found some goodies from the Facebook fanpage:

Huang Junjie 「黄俊捷 」Oversea Fanpage

The opening scene

And these to wake you up, agdr03. Warning: I don’t know what he was saying. He could be cursing you for all I know.

3/13/2020 Follow-up:

@nrllee was kind enough to translate them for us. Thanks @nrllee!

The voice message #1 (wake up call) – he says, “Little idiot (it’s a term of endearment, not meant to be derogatory), it’s time to get up. It’s 10 o’clock. Remember to tune in to (drama title).”
Voice message #2 (go to bed) – he says, “Little Kuai (not sure why), it’s bedtime soon. When you wake up tomorrow morning don’t forget to watch (Drama title)”.

And last one, the cheesy encounter.

  1. I’m going to take these so I can nap with a smile on my face. 😍

    Thanks! 😄

  2. Almost time! ☺️

With the voice message, I think he’s still talking about Tian Qi. I didn’t hear him say my name. 😂

  3. Getting ready

  4. Okie. Let me set myself up properly 😄

  5. Ready to roll! 🙋🏻‍♀️

  6. 6:30 am I’m here!

  7. You know I keep forgetting to mention the lots and lots of candles in this drama. I wonder how many they used. 😁

  8. I hope they’re the battery-operated candles. Like the ones we use for Christmas windows.

  9. Did she miss going outside the mansion? That’s why she’s going asked permission to go out again? Or she wanted to spend money that she has lots now after her rewards? 😁

  10. Ha! So she was the one who asked him to go on a date with her.

I like the idea that she was going to deposit her money because he’d given her too much that even after paying her debts, she had extra. She was going to be thrifty.

  11. I think she really was going to deposit her money.

But she thought of the things she’d see in the bazaar, on the way to the bank, and she invited him.

Too funny that he’d never been to the place while Ji Zheng’s first stop after his wanderings was that area.

  12. Look at JH’s eyes light up while TQ was telling him what’s in the market. 😆

Aww and another smile for TQ’s very thoughtful gift. 😍

  13. Yeah and that’s why he saw TQ as a woman. ☺️

Oh she was going to deposit her money. She did say she wanted to save it.

Funny how before she was crying to the late Princess about her having none but now she can even save.

  14. TQ: There are performances like boxing and juggling.
And musicians. And there are female dancers from exotic land. (hahaha. And she mimics the dancers.)
They’re gorgeous. And there’s a snack street in the west. I’m drooling already.

    JH: And what else?

She realized then that he’d never been to the bazaar. But of course, he wouldn’t want to admit this.

JH: As master of this land, how could I have not been to the bazaar? I can’t just show my face in public so as not to disturb the lives of civilians.

So that’s his excuse? His face couldn’t be seen?

  15. Hahaha even Mr Shen is seeing TQ as someone that can replace him. 😄

So TQ came prepared with a gift for him too. Good girl! 😁

Remind me what did we decide this gift was again? 🤔

  16. True. He just paid it off in one go.

He probably thought it was an fair trade. Pay off her loan = his new soft armor vest

JH: (watching her leave) He actually spent 40 cents on soft armor and 60 cents on the case. It seems that he really put his heart into it. (looking at his vest) Little fool.

So he liked it better than the other girls’ gifts because it matched him.

  17. True.

TQ was ready for Mr. Sheng. She had that potion ready for him. AND she called him “Grandpa Sheng”. She really knew how to flatter.

Which was good because Mr. Sheng didn’t look happy that he might be out of a job should General Ji reward Tian Qi with his job.

  18. He even said he couldn’t just go to the bazaar because he might disrupt the lives of the people. I’m like how? 🤔😄

Oh he loved that soft armour very very much. 😍 And the invitation from TQ , that’s why he’s at the bazaar same tomas her. 😁

    This guy!

  19. lol. She nearly walked past Ji Heng. She was so focused on going to the bank (that was the bank with the banner, right? Too bad we don’t read Chinese) that she didn’t see him. He must have been waiting for her at that spot because he knew the bank was there.

I like the cute little squeal she made when he grabbed by the shoulder.

JH: I thought you were blind, too blind to see me.
TQ: How could I be blind. It’s because you are casual and elegant bearing also handsome and unrestrained. You are dazzling, too shining for my eyes.
JH: Handsome and unrestrained? I think all you see is money.

??? I don’t know how she comes up with all this nonsense. At least, he doesn’t take her seriously now. He isn’t annoyed with all her silly compliments.

  20. If the people knew who he was, they’d gather around him to ask for petitions, maybe?

He wanted to go incognito. But did he really have to change his name, too?

I wish we knew Chinese. The names she suggested for him must have a special meaning. I don’t get what the YT sub was trying to say.

TQ: Let me see. I know. My name is Tian Qi, name of a valuable traditional Chinese medicine. How about naming yourself after another medicine?
    JH: Medicine?
TQ: How about Tian Ma (gastrodia elata)? You don’t like it? Let me try again. What do you think of Dan Shen (salvia mil)? It doesn’t sound good either. Let me see. How about Da Huang (rheum officinale),
    JH: It’s like a dog’s name.
TQ: Let me try again. I know. There’s akind of medicine whose name is like yours. It’s called Bai Heng (bittersweet herb) It’s slightly bitter. How about calling you Bai.
JH: No, it sounds unruly. I am Master Ji. You can just call me so.
TQ: Master Ji. It doesn’t sound nice. It makes you unapproachable. I like Bai.

I like how they squabbled over his name.

Isn’t this a couple thing in Kdrama? The couple will think of a name for themselves? This trope used to appear more often in kdramas…

  21. I love how they needed to have a low profile while going around the bazaar, hence a nickname is needed. 😄

Names to choose from – a gastro medicine, red ginseng, rhubarb. 😂 The winner is Bai Heng which means slightly bitter. 🙌🏻😄

She should have deposited her money already instead of carrying it like that.

  22. What’s up with the fan?

This is the first time I’ve seen with this fan.

But yes! He agreed to go on a date with her. Without Mr. Sheng.

JH: I’m free today. And you said you were going outside. So I want to take this opportunity to see my people.

lol. But the date had a purpose. It couldn’t just be that he enjoyed her company and that he became curious about this bazaar after what she told them yesterday.

  23. Sorry the winner nickname was Xiao Bai ☺️

    Almost became Xiao Nai 😜

Yes, couples in kdramas give nicknames too. ☺️ Me too, now that we’re into cdramas, I wish we know Chinese.

  24. AAAh! Thanks!

Are these names from Viki?? Did they translate them? The YT gave the scientific names. So they were useless.

  25. I did a quick google of that name.

Xiao Bai means “novice greenhorn fool idiot”

    https://chinese.yabla.com/chinese-english-pinyin-dictionary.php?define=xiao+bai

    hahaha.

  26. She actually stumped him. 😂 ‘Didn’t you say you would listen to me?.’ He couldn’t say no.

Oh and she reminded him of the girls families that likes him that they might see him and he didn’t like that so he said ok. We’ll do what you say. ☺️

I’m not sure what the fan is for as well. Does it mean they have a position in society or something? 😬 Or maybe it’s just hot? Aunty Hong her fan too.

  27. I like how they were bickering back and forth because he didn’t want to be called Xiao Bai. TQ put an end to it when she reminded him that he told her to arrange for everything that day. He couldn’t think of a comeback for that —

    JH: I…
TQ: (finishing for him) I will keep my word.
JH: Alright. But you shall still serve me.
    TQ: Okay.

And she got him there. She put the words in his mouth.

She looked girly when she was in a snit.

  28. That would be too funny if the fans meant “status” because people rarely use fans nowadays. At least here in the US. In the summer, I believe I’m the only one who carries a Chinese fan (the smaller version of JH’s) in her purse. All my friends laugh when I take it.

  29. Yes, that’s what Viki translated it to. ☺️

Lol at the “novice greenhorn fool idiot”. 😂

Did you notice that they actually have green colour in their outfits? 😍

Oh I love this ost, the one with the bazaar scenes.

  30. lol. She wanted him to wear a hat to cover his face.

And the reason he bumped those men in the street is that he was used to his men in the army and the people in the mansion moving aside to MAKE WAY for him. lol. He expected those men to move aside, too. Of course, they didn’t because they didn’t know he was the leader and General Ji.

  31. Ya, those Chinese fans are cute especially if it has a nice design. I have mine in the car and I take it out when I need to use it. ☺️

Look at JH, walking as if he owns the road 😄 I like that the place was really buzzing with activities.

  32. I like the background music early when they were arguing.

I like this one, too. Do we have this on YT?

lol. Too funny about the meaning of Xiao Bai. I didn’t goggle what “Bai” meant by itself, though. Just the “Xiao Bai”.

  33. TQ’s girly side came out when she went to the ladies jewellery store. 😱 Lucky the owner looked shocked that a man was interested in it.

Look at JH’s face, his brows. 😂 He’s thinking that TQ is up to no good again. 😆

  34. But he was supposed to “own” that road if he was the leader/ruler of these people.

Yes. One of fans I had was a Japanese fan, I get a lot of compliments when I take it out during the cherry blossoms here in DC. I also have a Korean fan…bought in a market place in Korea. That one I usually keep in purse during summer time. I think I have a fan from the Philippines but it isn’t the folding kind. It’s kinda round, no heart-shaped, and made of bamboo? leaves? some jute material.

I thought this was funny. TQ wanted him to wear that ridiculous hat to cover his face.

BUT she told him NOT to cover his face with his fan because no one would recognize him anyway.

    So which one was true?

I think she really wanted him to wear the hat because the hat would look silly on him. Not because it would cover his face and protect his identity.

I’m glad that JH didn’t fall for her trap. She’s really sly, our TQ.

  35. Yes we have that ost while they were walking around the bazaar. ☺️ I’m pretty sure I posted it here. But it’s easy to find in YouTube. ☺️

  36. Agree! It’s because he’d look silly. She’s very sly alright.

Ah yes I forgot that of course if people know him then the people would make way for him. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Oh yes, lots of pretty fans from the Asian countries. ☺️ That one from the Philippines is cute and simple. I tend to keep a few too.

  37. Awwww… I like it when she protected him from the street gang. She was trying to shield him, “You! Don’t hit him. Hit me instead if you can.”

But he quietly pulled her behind him and started fighting them.

This is really a fangirling moment. All she could say was, “Handsome.”

Like Barbrey would say, he was handsoming his way into her heart.

She tried to help him but ended up dirtying herself.

JH: You weren’t in the fight. What happened to your face? Such a troublemaker.

I think he was annoyed with her because she got dirtied, after all he tried to rescue. I don’t think he really minded that she caused him trouble. He seemed to have enjoyed that fight.

TQ: It’s the first time someone ever stood up to protect me. I’ll treat you to a meal, my lord…err…Xiao Bai.
JH: Let’s go. (tapping her head with his fan.)

  38. Yes! Her girly side showed up! She just beelined for that jewelry display, didn’t she?

And his face! He didn’t know what to do with her. hahaha.

I wish they showed a scene like this in reverse: him buying her a hairpin. This is a trope in sageuk kdramas, as well. The guy buying a hairpin for the girl.

But I guess we got that already in that scene when he bought her the dress and the make-up.

  39. JH was having fun running with TQ. 😄 I like how she still tried to protect JH.

And yeah, I’ll be like TQ while watching JH fight those men. 😍😍😍

She was flustered that she had rosy cheeks. 🥰😂

I like that JH protected her. 🥰

  40. And his face! He didn’t know what to do with her. hahaha.

Huang Junjie’s face did the job perfectly. 😂

Aww he could have bought her a hairpiece for the epilogue but then she’s wearing her man outfit. 😂

Oh yeah! Handsoming his way into her heart.! 😍

  41. That running scene was lovely to look at, too.

He was definitely enjoying it because he knew he could take down those men single-handedly. And if he’d been truly in trouble, then Mr. Sheng and his guards were on the rooftops, anyway, ready to come in and help out. He always traveled with his ninja guards.

But for TQ this was a life-and-death situation. hahaha.

But heyyyyyy! This was the first holding hand scene, right? They held hands while running down the street market before JZ held her hand.

I get it now. He wasn’t bothered when they held hand. But he was angry when he saw JZ holding TQ’s hand/wrist.

  42. “handsoming his way into his heart.”

We’re such fangirls for this couple. I thought she was cute when she was eating that crab claw. And the grapes. And the chicken leg. Typically, I would have been turned off watching her eat like that. Without manners. But she made me smile.

She got him there again! Why on earth was he waiting for her to feed him? When has she ever fed him? lol. He was imagining weird things.

  43. There’s some yummy interesting food on their table. 😋

Such a change when JH let’s TQ serve him food but as usual she’s cheeky again. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

But he was looking forward to it wasn’t he? Look at how he was looking at her. It’s like his been hypnotised. 😄

  44. I like how she paid him a compliment and he repaid her with an insult.

TQ: You’re smiling. My lord. You didn’t see that. You always frown. But you look so cute when you smile.
JH: Look at you. I actually once thought that you were a girl. It’s ridiculous.

She worried that her disguise was up so she began eating like a barbarian.

She thought to herself, “I’ll show you what a real man is.”

This was ironic. She didn’t know what it was to be a real man because she wasn’t.

She only had a stereotype of what a man is. She had no idea.

For instance, she thought a “real man” read porn. But Ji Heng didn’t. And so didn’t Ji Zheng.

  45. Hypnotized! Yes, definitely. He snapped out of it when she ate it up herself.

She must have been super-glad that she could eat without having to serve him. It showed by the way she INsincerely apologized for not attending to him.

I think he only drank tea the whole time they were there. She gobbled up everything.

  46. True! Our first holding hands and it was JH first, not JZ. We got our first hug already so this is nice. ☺️

TQ changes her ways many times, it’s a wonder JH doesn’t think his got split personality. 😆

Maybe he doesn’t know how to eat crabs? 😱

Aye! We are very much fangirls of this couple. 😍

  47. If I were JH, I would think she was fickle-minded. If he was moody, too, then she was fickle.

Like the trick she did with the crab claw. First offering to feed him, and then pulling her hand away at the last second.

Her giggling was adorable. Sounds like a baby gurgling.

  48. That whole porno book scene was funny. 😂 Good background music for it too. 😂

Poor brows of JH, they’re going to die soon. 😂

    I can’t believe she retorted to saying she’s a pervert! 🤦🏻‍♀️

  49. His shock when he realized that he was looking at porn!
And his frown when she bragged about her knowledge of porn! — Those were killer eyebrow frowns.

I like the idea that she was corrupting General Ji.

He couldn’t believe that she was interested in girlie magazines, “Look at that thin waist!” I can’t help thinking how far we’ve come with porn. Before porn meant just erotic painting with women actually wearing clothes and just the shapes and figures were emphasized. Now porn means women wearing no clothes…or even women wearing chains and spiky things. lol.

  50. I liked JH’s denial that he visits the store of the porno guy. Then he gets shown what he looks like. Poor thing. 😂

  51. ‘I like the idea that she was corrupting General Ji.’

She corrupted him alright because in the end he had to follow the book. 😂 I’m glad they were able to use it. 😂

So true about those porn stuff. Expensive too! My cousin buys them. 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄

Oh another first for JH, a brothel visit. 😬

Oh he said he doesn’t drink. But he does on the eve of TQ’s wedding.

  52. The wrong portrait of him proved that he was speaking the truth that he’d never visited that porn store before. The porn seller didn’t know how he looked like.

    I like his question.
JH: Do you really like this?
TQ: What are you talking about? (nudging him with an elbow) All men like it.
    JH: Seriously?
TQ: Alright. for the sake of our friendship, I’ll share a secret with you. I’m a pervert.

lol. Isn’t that funny? Too admit to submit that you’re a pervert? The YT sub said, “lecherous person” but nobody says that.

TQ: I’m such a pervert that I can’t restrain myself. And you still think I’m a girl?! It’s like humiliating. Though it still has its bright side. I can sneak into female bathrooms then.

I think she meant that she can’t control her “urges”. Hence she looks at porn to release herself. That’s why it’s crazy that he’d think that she looked like a girl. But looking like a girl did have benefits, like she could go in women’s bathrooms.

Her logic is meandering but it works, oddly enough.

  53. The scene at her Aunty Hong’s place was funny, too.

She left him with a roomful of prostitutes and he smashed all the plates while trying to get rid of them. He must have thrown the plates at them or broken them while escaping from their clutches.

But his ruckus succeeded in getting her back inside the room.

He was offended. “I, Ji Heng, made my reputation by risking my life on the battlefield. But you take me to such a place. You’ve brought me disgrace!”

🙂 That was a fancier and longer way of saying, “Impudence!”

  54. True. They ended up using that book.
Well, what do you know…it was a gift that kept on giving.

And to add to JH’s shock, she had more than one book at home. He had this look of disgust, like “Who the heck am I hanging around with? Why am I with this person?”

  55. The portrait proved too that no one knows what he looks like. 😄

Yeah it did worked for her but it’s not true that all guys like it because JH and JZ are not into it. 😄

This comment of Aunty Hong – General J is so into you, he would hardly kill you if he finds out your a woman.

I can’t believe she left him with all those girls. 😄 He had a right to be upset there. But as much as he was angry, he still believed in TQ.

I can’t believe too that this brotherhood can be used to ask a few rewards. 😄 Thete seems to be no limit.

  56. Oh? He doesn’t drink? I didn’t see that part.

Wait…is that why he decided to drink on the night that TQ was going to get married? He doesn’t normally drink but he broke his rule on that night to show how really upset he was at the turn of events?

  57. “I, Ji Heng, made my reputation by risking my life on the battlefield. But you take me to such a place. You’ve brought me disgrace!”
🙂 That was a fancier and longer way of saying, “Impudence!”

    So right!!! 😄

We couldn’t fault Huang Junjie’s look of disgust. It was perfect. 😄 It really was those questions that cane to his mind.

  58. Yes! That comment of Aunty Hong proved prophetic, didn’t it? “General J is so into you, he would hardly kill you if he finds out your a woman.”

In other words, seduce him to stay alive. It’s the oldest trick in the book. Really. You can look at this in the romantic sense. But you can also look at this from the prostitution angle because she was in a whorehouse. That’s what those women were doing. Using their wiles and their bodies to make a living. To go on living, they have to use their feminine wiles.

But when love enters the equation, then it changes the nature of the relationship.

    Just a thought. 🙂

  59. Yup! He said it to the girls at the brothel. That’s what I gather too about him drinking that night with Ning’er.

But I thought he drank when he had his welcome home party at the beginning? 🤔 Maybe he doesn’t usually drink.

  60. I like what she said here. Nice closing argument. She persuaded him to empathize with her.

“When I was a kid, my family suffered misfortune. After my parents died miserably, I was homeless and lived on the street. The hostess of this club took me in and paid my tuition learning medicine. Though it’s a red-light district in your point of view, as for me, it’s such a kind place here.”

That’s why he relented and told Mr. Sheng to give the access permit.

  61. Did he actually get to drink it at his welcome home party? I’ve to watch that part. Most likely he did.

The princess motioned TQ to give JH some of the wine from her wine decanter. She went over to JH and the assassin attacked. They didn’t want JH to drink from the same wine. They just wanted the princess to die, not JH. Because if JH died, then the house of Ji still stood, because there was Ji Zheng after him.

But to take down the whole Ji family, JH must be found guilty of killing the Emperor’s niece.

  62. I didn’t relate it to the whorehouse but I see what you mean now. That’s why the Uncle said don’t say bad things to her. 😊

I thought only in the romantic sense and it was a prophetic statement because JH did everything as in everything to clear her name when he found out she’s a woman. ☺️

  63. BTW, what did Ji Heng tell Mr. Sheng? How did Viki sub this part? He looked at the fan and remembered TQ’s words. Then, he ordered something…

    JH: Shenghua
    Sheng: Yes, my lord?
    JH: ???
Sheng: My lord, aren’t you feeling well.
JH: No. Just do as you’re told.
    Sheng: Yes, my lord.

Did he just tell him to get the access permit? That’s it?

  64. ‘That’s why he relented and told Mr. Sheng to give the access permit.‘

He did emphasised and I think he made that decision on that spot too. He said he’ll sleep over it. ☺️

I think he only had 1 drink when he said let’s toast to everyone here. That was it. And really as a general and second(?) to his majesty then I believe him that he doesn’t drink.

Which made his drinking later in much more poignant. He was drowning himself with alcohol as a way of letting TQ go.

  65. JH just said to Mr Shen to bring TQ.

He must have asked someone else to get the permit box because it’s there when Mr Shen and TQ came.

That’s why Mr Shen was shocked too.

  66. This was a funny scene, too. Instead of just giving her the access permit, he teased her, too.

JH: I haven’t given you a reward for the deed you did on the day you saved me.
TQ: My lord, last time I gave you a present, you seemed quite happy with it and told Mr. Sheng to triple the reward for me. I can take it as a reward.

    Good answer.

JH: Really? Didn’t you ask me to give you an access permit to go out freely? (opening the box) I was planning to give it you as a reward. But it seems that you don’t need it.

TQ: (changing her tune right away) My lord, there’s never too much reward. And the money you gave me isn’t very much after paying off my debt. So..soo.. I’ll just take it, although unwillingly. I can’t reject your kindness.

    smiling at her.

JH: I know you’re just being cheeky here.

He should have called “Impudence!” here too.

But she really wanted to know who else had it too. He suspected that she was going to sell it. I like him. He trusts but verifies. He treats her kindly although he still suspects her.

  67. I just love that he really doesn’t give a damn about what people think once they know that he gave TQ the permit pass. Of course it will create a buzz in the mansion.

I just had the giggles now because the poem book comes out from his documents. 😂

Mr Shen – if you need time alone, I’ll serve you from the outside.

    Winner! 😂

  68. ‘He suspected that she was going to sell it. I like him. He trusts but verifies. He treats her kindly although he still suspects her.‘

True! I like that he can really read her, that she is a kind hearted person even with all her cheekiness and fickle ways. 😄

  69. Sorry, my autocorrect is very active tonight 😂

I meant the porno book. 🤦🏻‍♀️

  70. Aaaah. Thanks!

YT didn’t sub that line. Is that why Mr. Sheng grew immediately concern that he wasn’t feeling well. All he said was no, and just do what you’re told.

Later as TQ left, Mr. Sheng tried to counsel him.

    Sheng: My lord.
JH: What’s wrong? Do you think I did anything improper.

I like that he wasn’t even looking at Mr. Sheng. He was pretend-reading to show that he made up his mind. And he wouldn’t change his mind. He was hiding behind the book.

Sheng: I dare not. I’m just thinking that, although Tian Qi is indeed qualified (better sub: worthy), he’s only been working here for less than two months. But you already gave him the access permit. If people knew that, I’m worried that…
JH: I don’t care what people think. Who I believe in and who gets the access permit are up to me to decide.
Sheng: You’re right. I crossed the line.

He gave the access permit out of pity, though. He pitied her circumstances, her hard life.

  71. Hahaha.

But that’s also what the porno guy told Tian Qi earlier. He asked her what was she waiting for. “If you want it, buy it and enjoy it at home.”

Mr. Sheng and the porno guy were advising both of them to read it in private. Meaning, alone.

But the book ended up being read by the two of them in private, together. lol.

  72. Oooohhhh her daydreaming kiss looks real. 🥰 That’s a long time to look at each other’s eyes in that forest scene. 😍

This is what you get when you ask someone to a date, well TQ only. 😄

You get to hold hands, eat together, fight bad guys, share your stories and lastly, he gives you a gift. ☺️

So she’s already acknowledged at episode 11 that she’s falling in love.! But of course it needs to be denied.

  73. That night, she couldn’t sleep. She tousled and turned in her bed. And it was because she was thinking of their day together. Their first date.

A lot of things happened on their first date. A lot of “firsts”.

    First time she held hands
First time she ran with somebody to escape the thugs
First time somebody stood up to protect her
First time she saw him in action…I mean…”handsoming” his way with the thugs. lol.

She said, “Why does my heart beat so fast? He’s General Ji. Tian Qi be realistic. But he’s so handsome!”

hahaha! We got the handsome verb!

  74. And here comes her dream fantasy. The one where they’re practicing with the sword and he was wearing the green outfit.

Hmmmm…it would be fun analyzing this dream. The sword is a phallic symbol. And both of them wielding the sword is lol…whatever. I don’t want to go there. pwahaha. She’s thinking of erotic things, let’s just put it mildly that way.

In her fantasy world, they were together fighting her enemy.

Then, she reminded herself, “I can’t. I have to take revenge for my parents. How can I so easily fall in love. Tian Qi. You don’t deserve it.”

But when you think about this, he did get rid of Sun Congrui for her and that bad guy/the masked man.

He just couldn’t kill his mother.

  75. ‘He was pretend-reading to show that he made up his mind. And he wouldn’t change his mind. He was hiding behind the book.‘

He did too but he still trusted her even though he did give it to her out of pity.

That’s right, the seller said read it at home alone. I’m so glad that they both read it together 😆 How old was JH supposed to be here? About 26? TQ about 19?

  76. And while she was fantasizing about this Ji Heng, he was dreaming of Zhao’er. (At least, he was able to sleep, and only dreamt of her in the morning).

I think TQ’s story of her hardship triggered his dream. He knew that TQ’s hardship would have been Zhaoer’s too because they both grew up orphans after their parents suffered horrible death. TQ’s sad story could have been Zhaoer’s sad story.

TQ: Yo are having a nightmare again. May I check your pulse?

    He stared at her.

JH: Tian Qi you said your family suffered a great misfortune. Your parents died miserably. What happened exactly?

  77. Yeah. She was falling in love here. But yes, denial (“The Nile”) isn’t just a river in Egypt, as we often say.

  78. ‘We got the handsome verb!‘

    I love it! 🤩

I liked those first’s and really it was a very eventful day! No wonder her mind can’t stop thinking. ☺️

  79. I don’t know their ages. Were their ages mentioned somewhere in the Cdrama?

And you know me, I approve of this drama because it wasn’t a noona relationship. lol.

  80. ‘Hmmmm…it would be fun analyzing this dream. The sword is a phallic symbol. And both of them wielding the sword is lol…whatever. I don’t want to go there. pwahaha. She’s thinking of erotic things, let’s just put it mildly that way.’

I’m missing out on this analysis but all good. 😜 As much as I’m green, I’m not that that green because I don’t get this. 😂 I’m an innocent ahjumma. 😆

  81. Yes, she had a busy day. She could sleep because she had many things to think about after that busy day. Her mind was still active.

And the funny thing was, re, her access permit, JH promised to think about it. But he gave his decision right away.

He knew she was lying about needing the access permit. She said it was to find a cure for him outside the mansion. But he knew it was for her to play around.

Despite that, he gave it to her because one) he was sorry for her and two) he realized that she would need it to go home whenever she was feeling homesick.

JH was more a man of action because he had the power to move things his way, and nobody would question him (just like what he told Mr. Sheng). TQ however couldn’t be a woman of action because she had no power here.

  82. Swords are phallic symbols.

That should be your main takeaway from here. (just kidding)

BTW, I didn’t make this up! Here is the university of michigan’s literature department (I guess it’s lit dept because who else would have come up of this?)

“The sword is phallic, with the sheath being yonic. It is a symbol of knighthood and chivalry.”

    http://umich.edu/~umfandsf/symbolismproject/symbolism.html/S/sword.html

yonic means the woman’s sexual organ. lol.

    See? I’m not perverted here.

  83. Yeah, her ‘power’ are slowly coming now after her access permit. Actually she has JZ’s support too so there’s that as well.

JZ’s assistant was right to say that JH had a good time and that’s why he gave TQ the permit. Well that’s how they see it though from the outside.

But definitely JH had a good time. ☺️

  84. No I didn’t see any information on their age but I’m looking at their younger version and I thought it looks like JH was 17 and TQ was about 10? ☺️

Yes, I know you’re not into the noona dongsaeng relationship. 😊

  85. Yes! I was going to comment on this, too.

JZ’s assistant thought that JH had a good time so he gave TQ the permit.

But we both know that he did NOT have a good time but he gave her the permit anyway because he commiserated with her sad story of being orphaned and homeless and penniless. In his mind, Tian Qi could have been his Zhao’er. (not knowing that he was right).

But we both know that for JH, their first date was miserable.

One, he was bumped and jostled in the street because nobody gave way to him.
Two, he was called Bai which he didn’t like (and he shouldn’t anyway if he knew the real meaning)
Three, he had to fight off thugs
    Four, he starved
Five, he was told that he looked cute when he was smiling… when he was a general.
Six, he succumbed to her teasing ways and bit on nothing.
Eight, his mind was corrupted by porn
Nine, he had to deal with those prostitutes and he didn’t like to consort with them.
Ten, he had to drink and he doesn’t drink.
Eleven, he was moved/guilt-tripped into giving an access permit (against his better judgment)

So the outsiders didn’t see all the trouble he went through that day.

And the romantic thing was he gave her the access permit despite all these things.

  86. ‘See? I’m not perverted here.’

I didn’t say you were. 😄 I just meant the analysing bit. But oh! Oh I get it. I had to look up those words. 😂 I’m really slow that way. Thanks. 😜

I’ll remember that – swords are phallic symbols. 😱

  87. Seriously, the best thing that he ever said was in the brothel, just before she asked for the access permit.

TQ: My lord, you’re not angry now?
JH: If I took you seriously, I would have died of anger a long time ago.

Too funny when you think of all the aggravation he went through that day, their first date, with her. If he hadn’t been indulging her that day, everything that happened to him would have tested his patience, Not only would she drive him mad, she would drive to his early death.

I found that comment funny. He escaped alive from the battlefield but he couldn’t survive a day with her.

So yes, he learned how to take her with a sense of levity. He wouldn’t enjoy her company if he didn’t unbend his autocratic and overbearing ways.

  88. Oh dear, so much for first dates. 😄 But because of Zhao’er, TQ was able to get a permit pass.

Yeah with JH relating Zhao’er to TQ, he’s doing what he thinks he should do for her. That’s why he used the fireworks too when she’s officially found out to be a woman. ☺️

So romantic about the pass that TQ fell in love. ☺️

  89. There are many phallic symbols around you.

The champagne bottle, the Washington Monument, etc.

Where’s my evil icon when I need it? Okay, it’s past your bedtime now. Good night!

  90. OH! I forgot that, too.

    First meeting on the bridge!

  91. I know right! If he didn’t bend then he would have died of a heart attack from all her ruckus. 😄

But like you said he changed to adapt to her ways. ☺️

  92. Just think of the headlines: General Ji survived all his battles but he died of a heart attack from Tian Qi’s ruckus.

    Hilarious.

  93. All good with me as I told the boys I’m having a sleep in. 😄

I’ll just think of those phallic symbols later. 😜

  94. Oh yeah first meeting on the bridge!

What a difference for the men.

JZ looks at a beautiful TQ, staring at her from a distance.

JH grabs TQ by the shoulder.

Of course JH gets the girl! You have to grab on to them, don’t dilly dally. 😂

  95. And another foreshadowing! She asked him if he was still angry, and he replied, “If I took you seriously, I would have died of anger a long time ago.”

She then wanted to go out some more.

TQ: Then, how about we go somewhere else?
JH: I’m good, let’s go back to the mansion.

    She was disappointed then.

TQ: Is this it? We don’t come out quite often.

In the epilogue, they were strolling down market street.

  96. Definitely hilarious! 😆

Thanks for this rewatch! 🙌🏻 🥂

I shall leave it here. 😴😴😴

  97. Good point!

JZ gazing at her on the bridge. JH grabbing her and making her pay attention to him on the bridge.

JZ’s nice though. I like the guy. It was decent of him to let her go in the end.

Yes. In Asian dramas, the guy who goes after the girl, gets the girl.

  98. Good night! I took a day off today that’s why I could stay longer. I guess I’m like Ji Heng, I had a day off, too. hahaha. Thanks for being my “date” today, agdr03, as we strolled down memory lane.

But we ARE both women. (You’re not a guy, right????)

  99. Aww because their first date was unforgettable (😜) and so they liked going to the markets then. 😍

    Nice!

  100. Yeah I liked JZ too. I especially liked what he said to TQ that because it’s his brother that she likes then the more that it’s fine with him. 😊

  101. That’s hurtful! 😜 I’m a woman because otherwise I wouldn’t be able to fangirl Huang Junjie and Yang Yang. 😍

My turn to be JH, – stop with the ruckus! 😜

  102. Still back to lurking, but wanted to say I’m really enjoying these exchanges. It’s like watching the drama again with more aware and knowledgeable friends. Thanks!

  103. You should join us when we do a rewatch. It’s a blast. We watch the show and comment at the same time. 😂 It’s like a video-chat.

I have three tabs open on my laptop. One for YT. One for the blog as admin to reply to her comments. And one as a guest on the blog to post on different things. That way we keep the flow moving.

Agdr03 and I can go on and on.

This is my way of coping with the Cvirus hysteria.

  104. Hi. Just read all of this. I really laughed when I saw the picture of ‘General Ji’ as a massive beasty, beardy man on a horse. No wonder people don’t recognise him. Definitely no need for the fan! 😂

  105. Hi Fern. General Ji looked like Genghis Khan to me.

  106. I also like how the town market dates foreshadowed the last episode’s events in the town: JH labouring in the brothel for Auntie Hong and ending up in a crowd of courtesans, and later the very relaxed loving date when JH asked Zhao’er why she’s eating so much sour food. 😊

  107. Yes! It did look like Genghis Khan. Early version of photoshopping.😄

  108. Photoshopped indeed. Or fake news. 🙂

I like this episode now. At first I thought it was just fluff or filler. But the beginning and ending made sense. That remark by Ji Zheng’s attendant framed their day’s adventure in proper context. To the outside the world, JH had a good time with TQ so he rewarded her with this master key (modern day version of the access permit). But only the two of knew what really happened. JH was disappointed with and greatly inconvenienced by his day outing. It didn’t turn out the way he wanted. He was put out.

But he gave her the key because he began to feel for her. He began to understand her. That annoyed “If I took you seriously, I would have died of anger.” was ironic. He was beginning to take her seriously, but, as he’d find out later, he was going to die of anger but he was willing to die of guilt and remorse…and that L word. Love.

So yes, this whole episode was important in their relationship. He gave her an access permit but that access permit wasn’t just for her to go in and out of the Ji mansion. It was also for her to enter into his emotional world. It was a MASTER key, alright. A key to him.

    🙂

  109. I thought of the picture as propaganda. Handsome as Ji Heng was, he would look slender, young and rather delicate if pictured realistically.

I actually know someone named Temujin. He’s lovely, but would need photoshopping to look like his namesake, too. 😊

I agree that this day was a turning point in JH’s understanding and empathy.

Btw, the ladies still use folding fans in Malta in the summer.

  110. Like the idea of rewatching this series. Will do so when I get the chance. Haven’t found any other series I really like anywhere near as much.

On one of the posts, TQ’s use of her hands was mentioned. It’s interesting that you noticed them.

To me the classic use of hands to make strong statements was the brilliant ending of the 1931 Charlie Chaplin silent film “City Lights”. It’s available on YouTube. If you haven’t seen the film and want to know what it is about, here’s a quick synopsis. The lady in the florist shop was originally blind, but has a secret rich gentleman benefactor who paid for her sight to be restored. In the ending she finds out the who the secret benefactor really is. Get the hankies ready!

Thinking of putting a review on imdb about the highly adictable Dr Cutie. Will naturally give it 10 out of 10.

  111. Thanks @Flying Tool ☺️ Glad you enjoyed the exchanges. I’m not sure about my part in the knowledgeable though because there’s the phallic symbols. 😱😆

  112. Try to join us @Fern , it’ll be fun. 😄

‘I agree that this day was a turning point in JH’s understanding and empathy.’

Awww and that’s why @pm3 said he pretty much gave TQ the master key, to his heart. 🥰

  114. Awww thanks @nrllee 😘

  115. Wow! Thanks nrllee a bunch. I’ll edit the blog and add this.

Isn’t Kuai (or Kawaii) another petname? Something like Cutie? Or is that in Japanese?

  116. I checked the imdb and it had the wrong synopsis. My guess is this synopsis was referring to the original book or manuscript. For one, Ji Heng wasn’t the Emperor.

“To seek revenge Tian Qi enters the palace disguised as a man. Due to her special abilities, she was taken to fancy by the Emperor and became his personal eunuch. As Tian Qi and the Emperor spend time together, the Emperor discovered that she is a girl. It turns out that Tian Qi is the daughter of Minister Ji Qingyun, named Ji Shao. Seven years ago, Ji Qingyun was framed by corrupted ministers and his family was sentenced to death. Only his daughter, Ji Shao survived. The Emperor, having fallen in love with Ji Shao, decides to make her his Empress. However, Ji Shao, who is burdened by her quest for revenge, begins to develop complicated and painful feelings for the Emperor.”

Your review will definitely come in handy.

Yes. I know what you mean but the use of hands in “City Lights.” With her hands, she realized that this poor street bum was her secret benefactor, not the rich gentleman she’d pictured in her mind. Sniff.

  117. Kawaii is Japanese for “cute”. Kuai in Chinese could possibly mean “good” (behavior). So potentially it could mean “Little good one”. When you add “Xiao” in front of anything, it usually has attaches endearment to it. So Xiao Bai would be “Little White”. It also has connotations of “cute” so generally if you want to address someone in a cordial but manlier way, you would address them with a “Lao” instead of “Xiao”.

  118. Sorry I got mixed up. Guai is good in Chinese not Kuai. So scrap that about him calling you little good one. 😂

  119. Thanks, nrllee.

Are you watching “Memorist”? How was “Hospital Playbook”?

  120. I am not watching Memorist. Hospital Playbook is where it’s at for me right now. Clever scripting. The writer (as with previous works) has this knack of blending dry wit/humour (which I much prefer to slapstick) with the dire (despondent/sad) in real life. So it leaves you dying of laughter one minute and then close to tears the next. I really like it. Will definitely stay to watch on. I was right in the guess that PD selected cast with musical backgrounds. They all know how to play instruments (and sing). Really they do…it’s not pretend play. The guy who is in Warm and Cozy is in it. I really like him. He’s a mad drum player. This is them playing. The female vocalist is actually in musical theater- she’s a really good singer…so she’s totally hamming it up here. The boys know she’s really bad…but put up with her. I couldn’t stop laughing at this scene. 😂

  121. That’s funny! The shocked faces of the guys. 😂

Omo! Yoo Yeon Seok is 😍 Loved him in Warm and Cozy. I’m watching this one definitely.

    Thanks @nrllee !

  122. PS Hospital Playlist has Catholic references. It may turn you off with how they are depicted. Just giving you the heads up.

  123. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll see how it is. If it gets to me then dropping it won’t be hard.

  124. I’ll have to play catch-up again. Mid-day here is when everything kicks off. Today I must drive daughter to another city for track shoe fitting. Enjoy yourselves. Think of me listening to her music for a hour each way. 😣

  125. Have fun at the shoe store. Maybe buy yourself a pair?

I’m working on my list of drama recs. Be back later after my (very early) morning jog.

  126. Have a safe drive @Fern and daughter! ☺️

I’m like that too with my boys mainly the eldest. Their music is very important. 😉

  127. Tee hee. Me in sprint spikes? 🤣 Please believe me, she is a marvellous anomaly in our family – unless you count the whippet-ish dog.

  128. @pm3 and I haven’t scheduled a rewatch today so you’re not missing out. 😉

I’m going to watch Hospital Playlist. 😊

  129. Hospital playlist. I’ll try that later.

  130. Let us know here what you think of it ok. ☺️

  131. Yes, Ma’am.

  132. Sorry, Ma’am only applies to @pm3 . 😜😂

Oh wait maybe it was Madam. 🤔😂

  133. Rewatch next Monday?

Because of this Cvirus, I’m doing most of the work remotely. And since I don’t have to drive to work, I can spend time re-watching instead.

There’s still some silver lining to this deadly virus.

  134. Deal! Just give me a shout out like you usually do, like say we’re on tonight. It’s easier for me. 😄

We might end up rewatching this quicker as I might have no work because of the government banning gatherings of 500 people or more. 🙁

So rewatching is definitely a silver lining for me. 😊

  135. @nrllee , I’ve started on Hospital Playlist but I’m getting sleepy so I stopped after 20 minutes but there’s a mystery on who is Chairman’s Ahn’s youngest son right? He’s a doctor and he smokes (reminded me of Taek 😍). His siblings are two priests and two nuns.

I’ll continue tomorrow but the first thing that grabbed me is how doctors are really hard working people and it’s a given that saving lives is their number one priority. Oh I’m not sure about the first doctor though. 😄 Their conversation was funny, all was said was did you want to do it? Are you doing it? I’m like what is it? 🙄😄 Something like that.

    Anyway I’ll continue tomorrow.

  136. Good morning, @agdr03 and @nrllee. I only found the first episode of Hospital Playlist. It’s quirky and good. There is the usual hospital politics, but a different take. I’ll watch ep. 2 when it comes up. I like the 5 friends. There’s some religious stuff, but it was funny to me, rather than offensive (yet).

Best wishes for a good weekend to you.

  137. Good evening! Same to you @Fern , thank you. 😘

I’m glad you liked the first episode of Hospital Playlist. I’ll have to watch it when I get home. Just doing some errands with Mom. 😊

  138. I’ve watched episode 1 and yes I like it too. I cried when the Mom was told that her son’s liver transplant was successful and that her Mom’s biopsy was benign. Also when the other Mom thanked the doctor for taking care of her daughter during the months that was at the hospital. I’m a cry baby that way. 😁Then I laughed at the band practice and the negotiations that went along before it. It is quirky and yeah I’m ok for now with the Catholic references.

I’m still trying to remember their names but there’s only the first episode so I’ll wait too for the second episode. ☺️

  139. @agdr03, I was crying, too. The actress who played the mom who thanked the doctor was really great in Chocolate. She has a lot of talent. The other Mom, ‘I’m the unluckiest… to I’m the luckiest…’ poor doctor, she didn’t know what to do next. Loved that she sent the lift on when the door opened.

I thought it was hilarious how the religious vocations were described. ‘Very busy with his other job; has a job with someone very high up’ But the widow indicated that none of those listened to her and she was frustrated with them. I had to laugh at that as well, because where I’m from, if a child got ordained, it was like a golden ticket for the whole family. But despite their ordination, they are the same people with normal human habits and temperaments. Like the brother in the chicken cafe. Lol.

The negotiations and the bank as an employment perk. Lol.

  140. @Fern @agdr03 the Darth Vader helmet though 😂. Superglued on by his son and he had to wear it into surgery 😂.

  141. Oh my goodness! How could I forget that? @nrllee 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Is episode 2 out already?

It was hilarious! 😂 I’m glad Darth Vader saves lives here instead of killing them. 😂

@Fern , same here, having a priest for a son is a gold ticket for the family. That brother gave good advice though which kept him and Jeong-won having a one on one at the same chicken place for years, he was just there to listen and eat. 😂

I didn’t realise this only has 12 episodes.

I’ve watched Memorist too and I like it as well. It really is similar to He’s Psychometric except people knows about his supernatural power. I don’t mind that it’s not a romance drama. 😊

  142. @nrllee and @agdr03, the Darth Vader helmet with a surgeon’s cap over the top was the best thing ever. Reminiscent of Roald Dahl’s Matilda, but Matilda did it on purpose. (Would a hospital have a supply of acetone? Lol.) Loved the way the other doctors took care of his little son whilst Darth was in the O.R.

Ref Jeong-won’s brother, I loved the little scrawled note issuing out of the confessional. 😂 I hope that the humour continues throughout.

  143. I meant band, not bank, as employment perk. Novel.

  144. I finished Ep 1 of Hospital Playlist. I’ll write a First Impression tomorrow.

Are you up to do doing a rewatch of Episode 12? I can do it at 6:30am. (less than 12 hours from now. lol.)

  145. Howdy! Sorry I was in a meeting.

I had a quick look at episode 12 and there’s not much interaction from our couple. I’m ok with the re-watch still though. Should we do episode 13 instead?

    Let me know. 🙂

    Thanks 🙂

  146. Okay, Episode 13 then.

  147. Ok. Good night! See you Later!

  148. Morning!

    I’m here, ready. 😊

  149. Getting rrady

  150. Goodness!
The way he shouted at his young nephew scared me!

  151. Snarky/jealous JH starts our rewatch on high bp already. 😱

Impudence! 😆 is that our 5th? I’ve lost count. 😂

  152. Phew! I’m relieved that the turtle was fake.

I was brought to this Chinese restaurant near my office and they had a separate menu written in Chinese. They served turtle soup. I wanted to ask the waiter if they really cooked turtle or it was just like the fake lobster meat in those sushis. Ugh. 🙁

  153. Look at Ruyi, even apologising. 😬

Why did JZ forget his appointment with JH? 😄 Too busy? 😄

Ruyi still feels sorry for him though. ☺️

  154. Oh no, turtle soup? 🙁 Hopefully not.

The reason why JZ always travelled is because he felt out of place? With him being a concubine’s son? But Madam Ji treated him well while they were growing up though.

  155. Hahaha. “Impudence!” In my sub, it only said, “How dare you!”

RY: Mom, let’s play with the turtle.
    TQ: Shhhh…
    JH: (shocked) Mom?
JZ: (stepping in) Brother, Ru Yi lost his mother at an early age so…
H: (quickly changing tack) Tian Qi. How dare you? Ru Yi has just returned to the mansion and you brought him here and play with a turtle? This is not decent.
TQ: My lord I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have let master RY play with the turtle, nor should I let him call me “mom.”

Did it say “Impudence” in Viki? I thought he stopped calling it impudent now. But he could have been so agitated again that he forgot that he’d tolerate anything she did.

  156. No, it was ‘how dare you!’ In Viki. 😊.

He’s agitated because looking at the three before, they looked like a family and having fun. 😆 TQ was even playfully hitting JZ so JH cant get past it. ☺️

  157. The nephew asked why JH was mad with them.
I’m glad she didn’t tell him what she actually thought. That JH was so moody lately, who knew what triggered him.

I thought that would have been badmouthing him and being disloyal.

Instead she said that JH wanted to play with the turtle too. But he looked so fierce that the turtle became frightened and hid its head.

She made it sound as if JH was somebody to be pitied.

But the end result was the same: they too would hide from JH. lol.

  158. That bad guy is gross. Chen Wo young.

He’s getting his kicks from hearing a girl shout in pain.

  159. It was good to hear the siblings give praise to TQ for raising JH’s vitality. That’s Viki’s too.

Hahaha that look on JH’s face when Ruyi said to Grandma that Uncle JH won’t give him to me. 😁

  160. ‘I thought that would have been badmouthing him and being disloyal.‘

Yes, she didn’t bad mouth him but instead made a legitimate excuse for him.

I saw it too, he was smiling while the girl was being flogged. 😡

  161. I didn’t like how TQ decided to confront the Bad Guy herself. She was deliberately provoking him.

  162. Ah lol sorry. It was only the brother who gave praise to TQ, Ning’er said that JH pampers TQ and receives benefits from her in giving her information about JH. And the point here is JH knows about it but he’s ok woth it. 😄

  163. I don’t know what happened to my long reply?? It didn’t post. lol.

Anyway, I agree he felt at least three different emotions.

jealousy because they were a family unit and he wasn’t included.
shock because TQ was called a mother
annoyance because his dear brother forgot his appointment with him.

He was a party-pooper and a third wheel.

  164. Yup. She thinks she can just go ahead and make him be aware of her but that made her his target even more.

  165. Yes. He didn’t want to share her.

He gave Ning’er a fake smile, too, when the mom told him that Ning’er had been very concerned about him: if he ate and slept well.

Actually, it was TQ who’d been working hard on getting him to sleep well. Ning’er was only decorative.

  166. Yes. This buddhist bracelet. She said she’d bought it from the Treasure House. And the cream for his scar.

TQ really didn’t know how to be patient. Unlike JH, who planned his actions.

  167. For a minute there I thought I’d lost you. 😂

I’m not sure where you’re comment went. 😬

Right on! He was left out and didn’t like it one bit.

  168. hahaha. No. I typed a long response and when I sent it, it disappeared somewhere else. lol.

    Oh well.

BTW, JH’s mother said, “Impudence!” to the maid. at 17:54. Like Mother, like son.

Per Mr. Chen’s coaching, the maid said that JH’s life was in danger because TQ was a jinx.

  169. ‘He gave Ning’er a fake smile, too, when the mom told him that Ning’er had been very concerned about him: if he ate and slept well.’

JH didn’t even give her a chance to ask him how he was. 😂 He has to go. But Ning’er is slow too. 😁

TQ really didn’t know how to be patient. Unlike JH, who planned his actions.

Agree! I guess she’s not mature that way.

Pfft! Chen’s suggestion that if Madam Ji killed Madam Shu’s assistant, JH will be upset. He really did play around with Madam Ji’s emotions and influenced her decisions.

  170. It was an amazing plan in saying TQ is a jinx and that her son will not be destined for greatness if JH stays with him.

It’s just great that TQ can put two and two together. Smart girl! But JH’s plans of counter attack was beats them all. 😄

  171. I’d written about this before, but I really liked the way she concluded that her chance was to stick with JH —

“I’m the Imperial doctor sent by His Majesty, and I’m also the general’s personal doctor. If she wants to hurt me, she needs to ask the general about it.

She needs an excuse to take me away from General Ji, and then kill me secretly. As a mother, she needs a reason to take away her son’s servant so that it won’t hurt her son’s feelings. She can say that she wants me to take care of her since I’m a good doctor. That’s the only possible reason she can offer to take me away.

She was thinking how to block J’s mom without directly confronting her.

She told Dr. Ding, “I’m saying that I must stay near General Ji and hold on to him. And then play it by ear. I’ve to do my best to stay by his side.”

At the end, she wasn’t afraid anymore to stand up to JH’s mother. Although she didn’t physically harm the mother, she was clear that she didn’t want anything to do with her.

Motioning her to leave her sight was much better than slapping or kicking the mother. It had more dignity. 🙂 And she didn’t reduce herself to his mom’s level.

  172. TQ didn’t know how to wait because she wasn’t a general in the army? 🙂

Isn’t there a Sun Tzu quote here from the “Art of War”?

    Here, I quickly googed, it.

#16. Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent’s fate.

  173. Ruyi is cute especially when he smiles. 😍

There it is, Madam Ji’s plan to ask for TQ but JH is already thinking, thinking. 🤔

  174. OOoh. Did you see that snack box that Dr. Ding had at 22:39? I like it!

I didn’t expect this plot twist. TQ prepping herbs for herself to induce an allergic reaction.

BTW, Dr Ding mentioned that Q word…quarantine…I shivered. Hope you and your family are okay down under.

  175. Motioning her to leave her sight was much better than slapping or kicking the mother. It had more dignity. 🙂 And she didn’t reduce herself to his mom’s level.

Yes! I loved the way she thought things through without stopping to Madam Ji’s level.

Oh I like that quote. 😍

I forgot to say that I’m glad Dr Ding is there for her. Otherwise she wouldn’t be able to handle a few of her issues.

  176. But isn’t JH too strict with him? He’s always telling the poor kid to study. lol.

Yes, the first time I watched this scene, I thought JH was really going to give TQ up that easily. I thought he was going to fall for his mom’s tricks.

But I guess, he was working that fake smile again.

  177. Oh yeah yeah. I liked the design of the snack box too. But the size looks more like a lunch box though? 😂

From Viki, the sub went like this. JH thinking in his head ‘TQ, TQ, should I save you? How do I save you?.’

Awww!!! I didn’t see it like this before. 😍

  178. JH: Where’s Tian Qi?
Sheng: He suddenly caught chicken pox and had a fever this morning.
    JH: Chicken pox?
    Sheng: Yes.
JH: All of a sudden? Anyone looking after him?
    Sheng: Dr Ding is there.
JH: I’d better check on him.
Sheng: My lord, don’t. It’s contagious. You should be careful.
JH: I already had chickenpox in childhood. I’m safe.

Remember, she’d had just recovered from the arrow AND the military exercise at training ground exercise. And now she was sick again.

So, yes, his concern was understandable. Why was she so frail??

  179. What Dr Ding was wearing while tending to TQ should be our uniform now? 🤔🙁

So far, all of us are still ok. Thank you. We’re just taking it in day by day. It’s getting closer though. The most important for us is protecting my 96 year old Grandma. How about at your end?

  180. So, yes, his concern was understandable. Why was she so frail??

She fainted from the heat right? I was thinking of something else. 😬 Poor thing. At least she got body contact woth JH at training. 😂

  181. Here, I’ve the conversation from Ep 11 after she fainting during the military training.

She recovered and went to him that night.

JH: Didn’t I tell Sheng that you don’t need to serve me these days?
TQ: I’m afraid you couldn’t sleep well without me.
JH: It sounds like you’re essential to me.

He was annoyed because she made it sound like he couldn’t live without her.

TQ: I don’t think that way. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have taken me to the training grounds to torture me.

I like her jab here. lol. She was making him feel guilty.

JH: TQ, how can you think me in that way? You said you want to go to the front with me as a doctor so I brought you to the training ground. On the training ground, I tried to stop you. But you insisted on doing it yourself.

I agree with JH. It was her fault really. How would he know that she was lying when she said that she admired how JH was doing so much for his country as a fighter.

TQ: I asked Mr. Sheng. No doctor ever went to the training ground before. Doing such a practice. My lord, if you hate me, you can just send me away.

But that’s it. He made an exception for her because he thought that he was doing something SHE wanted, that he was fulfilling a dream of hers to learn how to fight.

JH: Alright. It’s my fault for jumping the gun. I didn’t take your physical qualities into account. Tell me. What compensation do you want?

And TQ managed to twist the situation around to make him pay up and her debt. Of course, JH didn’t fall for that trap because he accompanied her to the bank to deposit the extra money left over from paying her debt.

The relevance of this conversation? It taught JH that TQ wasn’t stupid, that she could be conniving as well.

And that’s how he reassessed the situation and realized that TQ had planned this chicken pox of hers. She was using this as an excuse to hide from his mom.

Just like she used JH’s mistake of ordering her at the training ground to her advantage. hahaha.

  182. Yes, Dr Ding was wonderful here. He really came through. She needed someone to take care of her while she was incapacitated.

And I like how the script worked everything out — that it was Ji Zheng who ended up administering to her all night. I liked that. The writer could have easily written JH at her side again that night. But the plot wouldn’t have moved forward. It would have simply repeated the repeat of the arrow scene.

So now it’s JZ’s turn. And this added to the JH’s suspicions and jealousy.

    Nice one, writer!

  183. It’s interesting to note that JZ said if there’s someone meant for him to marry then he’d ask for JH’s help.

What an excuse! I’ve had many attempts on my life and been wounded so let’s talk about my marriage next time.

Aww. JZ taking care of TQ the whole night. 😍

Aww. JH missing her so much. This time it’s not insomnia but TQ herself that’s not making him sleep. 😍

I didn’t realise they didn’t have much interaction on this episode too but it was good anyway because we got to see how smart they both are in alluding ‘missiles’ meant for them. ☺️

  184. So far, so good.

But as usual, my brothers are taking bets on who’s going to fall ill first due to coronavirus.

And as usual, they always picked on me.

Our neighborhood has a sign-up roster of volunteer to do groceries for the old people. That way they don’t have to go out and expose themselves to the disease. 🙂

  185. Oooh. That body contact while they were training and he was teaching her the moves happened just like in her imagination.

That’s why she became flustered and wanted to do it herself. JH didn’t understand what was going on so he allowed it.

    I would be embarrassed, too.

  186. Thank you for the continued comments. I think that Ruyi is very sweet and a good addition to the plot. In my imagination I wonder who would take care of him when Madam Ji leaves. He was very attached to her.

Please stay as safe as you can, everyone. I have to go to work today as schools are still open here. Bonus bother, it’s finally sunny outside and I’d rather be putting sheets out in the breeze. ☹️

  187. Oh that’s from episode 12 😉

Thank you for putting that up here. I liked the conversation because of what you said about TQ twisting the situation the other way round.
He just accepted her reasoning again and he’s willing to give her another reward. He’s gullible?! 😱😂 But you’re right, that’s how he figured out about TQ using chickenpox as an excuse. ☺️

  188. Yes. I like how JH knew what TQ was plotting. Great minds think alike.

JH: I want to ask you something. After Madame returned, did anything unusual happen?
Asst: I know that several days ago, Chen Wuyong visited Madame with Zhi Jin.
JH: Zhi Jin? The maid who worked for Madame Shu?
Asst: Exactly. Since Madame talked to Zhi Jin, the rumor spread out saying that Tian Qi is a jinx, and he curses his masters.

    JH: Curse his masters? Nonsense.
Asst: But earlier, Tian Qi worked for the Princess Shuncheng. You know she ended up…
JH: He has worked for me for a long time. If he really is a jinx, why is it that I haven’t been killed yet?

I think JH was in denial here. He refused to think of TQ as bad luck. But when you think about it, there had been a couple of assassinations attempts on him (hence the soft body armor from TQ). But to him, TQ wasn’t bad luck because HE SAID she wasn’t bad luck. lol. He was unconsciously defending TQ even here.

Asst: (gasping and falling down to his knees) My lord, you’re blessed and fortunate. Don’t say anything ominous. I said too much. Punish me please.

JH: Sheng Anhuia, do you know why Tian Qi have chicken pox?
    Asst: I don’t know.
JH: I’ve figured out why Tian Qi got sick suddenly. He must have gotten information and came up with a trick to save himself. He’s quite smart.

And he smiled here. It wasn’t his fake smile that he gave his mom and Ning’er. With them, he had a fake smile because he understood what they were doing, and he didn’t like it.

Here, he was smiling because he understood TQ’s plotting and he was amused by her tactics.

    JH: Let’s go back.
Asst: My lord, what about Tian Qi?
JH: If I go see him now, he’ll probably die sooner.

hahaha. I laughed here. He was being witty but Mr. Sheng didn’t catch on. He didn’t understand what JH was alluding to: his mom’s anger. If she found that he visited Tian Qi, she would only become determined to get TQ out of his household. Nothing good would come out of his visit, so he was going to avoid her.

JH: (continuing) And it’s not the chicken pox that’s trying to kill him. I just can’t go against mother because of him. (thinking to himself) Tian Qi, Tian Qi. Should I save you? How?

  189. Yes, I wondered what would happen to RuYi. I suppose he could stay in Manor Ji since he bonded with TQ.

But didn’t he live with Madam Ji before?

I feel that there was a background story to Ruyi and his dad that was edited out.

Enjoy work today. I still have 35 more minutes before I need to prep for my morning briefing. 🙂

  190. Well you’d think he wouldn’t train that way with the rookies of his army, but do they? 😱😂

I’d be flustered too but really TQ should have realised she’s not going to be good because of how heavy the weapon was. 😄

  191. lol. It’s funny that JH is clueless as to his brother’s motivation.

JZ: Mother, I’m not in a hurry. Besides, I’m always drifting. There’s no girl that would like to marry me.
JH: (chiming in) Not a big deal, Zheng. If you’re in love, let me know. I’ll report to His Majesty and ask him for permission to let you marry her. Then no girl would dare reject your marriage offer.

snickers. He didn’t that JZ was thinking of TQ.

His stepmother asked, “Why are you smiling? Are you in love already? Who is she? Tell me.”

JZ: (addressing his brother) I’m not in love. Though if I do, I’ll turn to Ji Heng for help. You would help me?
    JH: (laughing) Of course, anytime.

And to think that later on, JH would tell him that he had no right to speak on behalf of TQ! He told JZ that only TQ herself could ask to leave his household if she wanted to.

    He’d forgotten his promise here

  192. You’re brothers are sooo mean but I’m sure they love you. 😉

That’s nice that there’s help especially for the elderly.

Actually my G-ma went to lunch today with her daughter and son in law for Aunt’s birthday. She said there was people looking at her at the shops. I think she felt off by it but we explained that the reason is you shouldn’t be outside at all. 😬 She got it.

  193. “Well you’d think he wouldn’t train that way with the rookies of his army, but do they?”

Right? Why would he demonstrate a move like that. Awkward. I know sleazy golf instructors do that with women.

  194. Ah! Because he wanted her for himself. 😈

So much for brotherly support. 😄

  195. lol. While JZ was actively taking care of TQ, he was dithering and unusually INdecisive.

He wondered how she was doing.

I think this was the point where he was becoming aware of her as “male” and forbidden fruit.

  196. Take care too @Fern ! Same here, schools are still open. My boys have commented on it and I just said just stick to the health advisories as I’d rather we’re home but not sick. I’m sure we will get to the school close level too. 🙁

I want Ruyi to stay with Uncle JH and Aunty Tian Qi. ☺️ Maybe there was another half brother or sister but it wasn’t put there anymore but I’m glad too woth his inclusion.

  197. Yes, you’re right. 🙂 Her fainting spell at the military training grounds happened in Episode 12. (whoops. I made a mistake there.)

Here was their earlier conversation. Ji Heng asked her why she was working for him.

JH: What exactly do you want?
    TQ: It’s because of you.
    JH: Because of me?
TQ: You wanted to save your father years ago. You went straight to Mountain Hei and suppressed the rebellion in Dong Mountain Village. People respected you fro your filial piety and loyalty. But I’ve been weak since I was a child. So I can’t join the army. So I made my mind to be a doctor. I think maybe one day I can go to the front with you. It’s kind of a dream for every man. To serve the country.
    JH: Is that all true?
TQ: Not a single fake word.
JH: Fine. I’ll make your dream come true.
    TQ: Huh?

So she faked it and it bit her in the ass when JH brought her to the military exercise. hahaha.

  198. Yes! It worked very well because JZ’s feelings for TQ was brought forward. And of course we needed to see the jealous JH. 😁

I agree that when JH was restlessly thinking of TQ, it’s when he started to feel uneasy about their relationship.

  199. Got to work now.

Thanks agdr03. Will post something on Hospital Playlist later. 🙂

  200. I only know it was from episode 12 because I skimmed through it. ☺️

See? Isn’t he a good boss? I’ll make you’re dreams come true. 🤩 He’s a man of honour and word. 😉

Go on, I’ll finish up here. 😂

  201. Poor Ning’er, she’s tried everything to win him over but if you’ve been put to your place once, get it inside your head and heart. No need to go low and lose yourself over it.

  202. The funny thing about this whole dinner with mom was both brothers were attracted to TQ but weren’t saying anything.

JZ was the obvious one. He gave himself away when he secretly smiled as he was thinking of TQ and his stepmom noticed it.

JH wasn’t so obvious. When he was being pushed to marry by his mother, he readily blocked her with excuse about his recent assassination. Of course, marriage didn’t enter his mind because the woman he was waiting for was still disguised as a man. But as soon as he found out about her identity, he proposed to her the following day.

JZ really took his time here.

  203. I know right! He proposed and got accepted straight away. He was sneaky with JZ but like you said, he took his time and it cost him.

JH was so confident that TQ liked him. Was it because she said it to him? You know when JZ was going to be whipped by him. ☺️

  204. Okie, I’m off to sleep now. Thanks for the rewatch. 🥂

    Stay safe everyone. 🙏

Looking forward to your Hospital Playlist review. 😊

    Good day!

  205. Off topic.
@agdr03, are your schools still open?
Yesterday afternoon was spent planning ‘continuity of education’ whilst government updates kept pinging in on teachers’ phones. Crazy. The school has a good plan and a joint teachers/governors meeting helped to refine it further. Just dreading the situation if my younger daughter has 4 weeks off…she isn’t a naturally calm person. Unlikely that she’ll watch dramas with me.

    This is Not me.
    https://i2-prod.plymouthherald.co.uk/incoming/article3955459.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_EBP_DCM_160320PLYMDRYDAY_01JPG.jpg

  206. Hi @Fern , yes schools here are still on. The government’s reasoning are – that school kids are not much affected by the virus, if they stay home (their parents whose in the healthcare system) their parents might have to as well but they are needed at work, if parents still go to work then it’ll be their grandparents that will take care of them but we don’t want them to be infected as the risk is higher for them.

There are those few that closed but that’s because their ready for online studying. My boys school keeps updating us as well. But I think their preparing for it already.

I’m starting work from home next week so it doesn’t affect me but I do feel for those who doesn’t have anyone to take care of their kids. Hopefully there’s a line where both can meet.

It is a bit hard when your supposed to isolate for a long time, at some point you would get bored. 🙁 I hope your daughter will find something that will take up her time and help her to be calm. 🙏

I told myself I’ll spring clean my house, as in spotless, then do lots of walking with the boys if ever schools close.

Sigh, we need lots of prayers for this thing to pass. 🙏🙏🙏

  207. It sounds like your govt. has a similar philosophy to the UK. Ah, well, spring cleaning is never a bad thing. I was thinking of some bigger projects outdoors/indoors projects as well. Hang in there.

I just re-watched ep 1 of hosp. playlist. Still laughing/crying at same bits. What am I like? Tsk.

  208. Thanks @Fern ☺️

Oh you and me are the same. 😄 I’m just a very emotional person so I can’t help but cry in those situations.

I’ve actually started Hyena like @Barbrey suggested and I’m liking it too. The competition of the two lawyers to outwit each other is the attraction there.

Funny, just like that I’m watching 3 kdramas. 😄

  209. @agdr03, what are YOU like? Tsk. Lol. 😄

  210. Busted. 😂

  211. Let’s rewatch episode 14 tomorrow, same time? ☺️

I’m off to sleep now. 😴

    Keep safe everyone. 🙏

  212. Ok. Episode 14 tomorrow.

  213. I’ll see you later for episode 14 rewatch. 🙂

  214. See you in a few hours. 🙂

  215. Morning! Getting ready 😊

  216. Good morning!
    Am here.
Was getting my morning coffee ready.

  217. Enjoy your coffee. I’ve had my camomile tea after dinner. 😊

Poor TQ! It’s a blessing that she’s a good doctor so she knows what she’s doing.

Look at her face when she saw JZ. Her face says, why is he here?

  218. Episode 14

I like Ji Zheng’s simple logic.

TQ: It’s inappropriate (that you stayed overnight with me).
JZ: But we’re friends. Friends take care of each other. How’s this inappropriate.

Meanwhile, Ji Heng stayed up all night debating about this.

  219. Ya! Careful where you tap with your hands JZ. 😬

I’m glad he knows that they are just friends but then again, I think he just wants to appease TQ so he can be near her.

  220. Funny that you should say that. I couldn’t look at her face because of the pox marks.

  221. Lol. He’s touched her body in inappropriate places twice now. Her mid-rib and now her thighs.

Some things were meant to be secret. I’m glad he didn’t tell JH that he’d touch her that way.

  222. Look at JH angrily putting his clothes on. 😂 Poor thing , didn’t sleep one bit. Thinking, thinking, thinking about TQ. 🤔

I like it when he angrily points his fingers when he’s upset. 😂 It makes it believable.

Oh Lord Suri said JZ and a feminine man. 😄

I liked that he’s protecting both JZ and TQ when he said to Lord Suri he will investigate it thoroughly.

  223. In Cdrama logic, we’re supposed to get that Ji Heng was so worried about TQ’s condition that he dressed himself up in the morning. He didn’t know how to put his robe by himself so he was struggling with the sleeves.

Okay… I can see the logic there. I had to drag myself from my warm bed to our cold kitchen and struggle to get the morning coffee this morning for you, agdr03. lol.

  224. This actor can sometimes look old and sometimes look boyish. Must be the make-up.

In this scenes, he looks older. But in the last episode, when they were in the market place, he looks younger than TQ.

How come I can’t imagine him with chicken pox on his face? lol.

  225. Fine! No coffee for me. 😂

But yeah he’ll never have a proper sleep without TQ beside him or in 1 room with him.

  226. JH: How’s Tian Qi?
Sheng: She’s feeling better now but…
    JH: But what?
    Sheng: Errrr…
    JH. Just say it.
Sheng: Yes, but it’s said that last night, Marquis Marvel took care of Dr. Tian in his room the whole night.
    JH: Zheng?!
    Sheng: Yes.
JH: Why did he get so close to Tian Qi?

agdr03, is that the same translation on Viki? “Why did he get so close to Tian Qi?

    Thanks.

  227. ‘Some things were meant to be secret. I’m glad he didn’t tell JH that he’d touch her that way.‘

True. Remember Dr Ding telling Mr Shen and JH that he almost put ointment on TQ’s butt after her paddling punishment? JH was livid. 😂

  228. JH: Why did he get so close to Tian Qi?

agdr03, is that the same translation on Viki? “Why did he get so close to Tian Qi?

Yes! That’s how Viki subbed it.

  229. I was thinking about that!

He was upset that Dr. Ding tried to take off her pants to put on the ointment. lol.

His brother would have been dead meat.

  230. How come I can’t imagine him with chicken pox on his face? lol.

That’s very hard to imagine so we can’t ever do it. 😂

Agree, I believe it’s the make up too. He does look matured and older but other times he’s just cute. 😍

  231. Aaahhh… so he really was questioning Ji Zheng’s motive.

    Thanks.

  232. Hmm it looks like the town knows about the humiliation of Lord Suri’s son by JZ and TQ and I’ll bet it’s Wen Chuong who leaked it.

There’s the snake influencing Madam Ji again. 😒

  233. Agree. I think “cute” was how the General was supposed to look like at the end. Meanwhile, TQ was cute from beginning till end.

So they were General and Dr. Cutie.

lol. Talking about faces, I’m sorry he had a funny face when he was enraged. This scene with Sun Congrui, he looked like he could have been spitting as he delivered his lines.

I’m sorry…but to me, the quintessential frowny face belongs to that actor in Go Go Squid. I crack up every time I remember that scowl.

  234. You’re right. It was Ji Zheng’s buddy who spread the rumor, didn’t he? He wanted JZ to get into trouble to go after TQ.

  235. Oh this episode will have our fake Shaman saving shenanigans. 😂

Isn’t JH a good son? 😄 ‘Sure Mom, I’ll get rid of TQ for you, after all his just a small physician. 😆

  236. ‘I’m sorry…but to me, the quintessential frowny face belongs to that actor in Go Go Squid. I crack up every time I remember that scowl.‘

Han Shang Yang is the frowny brows winner! 😂 I’ll give him that too. Did you ever finish that series?

  237. It was obvious from the conversation between JH’s mom and her steward/the bad guy that his real target was TQ.

He advised her to ler Mr. Sheng deal with the Marquis Marvel. But Marquis Marvel’s sidekick during that outing, TQ, should be given more attention. And his reasoning was because General Ji was interested in her affairs, too.

I like that pivot. They were talking about JZ and TQ’s outing but suddenly it became about JZ’s staying overnight by TQ’s sick bed. General Ji heard of the gossip and he ordered that gossip to be stopped. He didn’t want *her* to be in trouble.

And the mom fell for it. She could have defended her son’s action and reasoned out that he was protecting his brother’s reputation, not TQ’s.

    She’s so gullible.

  238. I’d be annoyed if he were my son. Going over my head like that. And fooling me with a smile. lol.

But yes, I like how “filial” he was.

  239. Did I finish Go Go Squid?
    I can’t remember now.
    I must have.

  240. My gosh! The amount of good vibes like good luck, status, longevity, happiness and wealth were all said by Hermit Yu Yang.

The water in the lake symbolises luck is in full spring.
The fish in the pond symbolises good luck and wealth for the family.
The pines tress growing well symbolises a long and healthy life.

No wonder JH’s Mom believed him without a doubt. I would too with all of those. 😂

  241. Phew!

I’m glad that Ji Heng had a Plan A ready. He moved quickly, though.

Day 1: he discovered her chicken pox, and figured out her ruse. That night, he wanted to visit her but didn’t.
Day 2: he woke up early to dress himself up. He met with Sun Congrui and dealt with complains. Meanwhile, mom and her steward plan to go after TQ.
Day 3: he had tea with his mother and told her that TQ was just a doctor and she can do whatever she wanted with her.

But by this time, he already had the fake shaman waiting to do his bidding.

I’m impressed. He made a plan and mobilized quickly.

  242. Meanwhile, my eyes were rolling as that Hermit rambled on about the mansion’s features.

    I don’t buy that mumbo-jumbo.

  243. She’s very gullible alright. 😆

Yes, the issue was JZ and TQ but he was able to make it just so TQ will get the whole brunt especially because he’s close to JH.

It was a foolish smile. 😄 I think I can be similar with Madam Ji. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  244. ‘I don’t buy that mumbo-jumbo.‘

That’s why it’s extra funny too when all he said was good stuff. Who wouldn’t want to hear good stuff especially about your household and family? 😂

  245. And that’s why Ji Heng must be one of my favorites heroes…

His mom suspected that he was up to something because she couldn’t believe that he invited a feng shui master to the mansion. She asked him, “You don’t believe in fortune-telling. why did you invite him to the mansion?”

She said that he would never trust fate, and only trusted that man controlled his own fate.

    That’s my kind of guy.

    🙂

  246. He played his mom so well.

He had Sheng go and pick up Tian Qi as soon as the Hermit walked in, so he could show to his mother that he was a “filial” son. He did exactly what he had promised. He told her that he would send someone to get rid of Tian Qi, didn’t he? “As long as you’re not worried, I’d send someone to get rid of Tian Qi.” lol. And he did.

  247. ‘I’m impressed. He made a plan and mobilized quickly.‘

We like the way he thinks.

He said to his Mom that Hermit Yang guess geography and numerology and knows a lot about them. He even has backup ‘words’ of evidences. 😄

It’s very good acting too to have TQ be taken and be killed. 😂

  248. The guard asked Mr Shen – where are we taking TQ? We’ve circled the mansion twice! 😂

Hahaha! Mr Shen told TQ – don’t waste General’s hard work! 😍

Aww TQ realised too that JH must be trying to save her from his Mom.

  249. True.
But the first part of what he told his mother was the one that was actually applicable to the Hermit.

He said, “Mother, you probably don’t know that what I hate is those frauds fooling people around with ghosts (and then he gave the Hermit a hard look, and the Hermit studiously avoided his gaze. This was his message to the Hermit.) Hermit Yuyuan is working on geography and divination. He knows all about heaven and earth. And he was right about some of my things (meaning, Hermit had agreed to explain TQ’s and his natal chart according to HIS wishes). It makes me believe in him. (I took this as a threat. A warning. He was going to “believe” in him = tolerate the Hermit’s mumbo-jumbo as long he went along with Ji Heng’s plans. Losing JH’s belief = punishment for the Hermit for fraud)

He wasn’t really lying, was he? lol.

  250. TQ looked so clueless.

She was gazing at her mirror and giggling. “Mrs Ji hadn’t called me once to the manor. Have I survived a disaster?” She was so happy that her quick thinking and smart action had averted problem.

She didn’t know that Ji Heng was hard at work, saving her behind, right at that very moment.

And Mr. Sheng was so mean…scaring her like that. He was going to kill her on General Ji’s orders. lol.

  251. Well no. 😄 He communicated what he wanted to Hermit Yang very well. He even said to Mr Shen to tell him if he uses his fake skills again, his life won’t be spared. Good job! 👍🏻

  252. Yes!

Was she calling Mr. Sheng, “Grandpa Sheng”?

    I like her babbling her.

Mr. Sheng, couldn’t there have been a misunderstanding? Did you hear the order wrong? Maybe I’m not the person he wants to kill.

Mr. Sheng: No. You’re definitely that person (oooh. He’s loving every second of this mental torture.) There can’t be no mistake.

TQ: Are you sure? As far as I know there’s a person named Tian Qing in Zhuging House, a Tian Zi in Jinxiu Pavilion.

Tian Qing, Tian Qi, Tian Zi. These are very easy to get mixed up.

pwahahaha. Although I’m not Chinese, I agree with her whole-heartedly. As soon as my eyes see the letter Q in a name, my mind blocks out the whole name. Names beginning with Q is rare here. I know of a Quentin.

  253. I love it! 😂

It added to the whole plan. It was perfectly executed.

Aww this was when JZ realised he loves TQ.

  254. Is that how the Viki sub translated it? “Don’t waste General’s hard work!”

On YT, it went like this:

She said, “I’ll shut up now.”
Mr. Sheng said, “Exactly. Don’t let General Ji down.”
    She thought, “Let him down?”

She figured out then that General Ji commanded Mr. Sheng to arrest her to save her.

And just in the nick of time, because Ji Zheng arrived to “rescue” her not knowing that there was already a plan in place, and that he was interfering.

  255. Yes she said Grandpa Sheng. 😄 I liked that too that she said – are you sure it’s me? What about those other TQ’s in different mansions and she went on with the list. 😂

Oh I’m very bad with Chinese names. 🤦🏻‍♀️

  256. And he could do that because he was the General and provincial governor, right? That’s the impression I got here. That he was some sort of provincial governor so he had to oversee the management and law and order.

  257. Yup, don’t waste General Ji’s hard work. ☺️

How about this to cure insomnia? 1 goat’s heart, 3.125grams of roses, 18.75grams of saffron? 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 Let’s ask TQ how it’s put together. 🤔

  258. I like the editing in this episode. Instead of just showing us the conversation with JH, the hermit and mother, they cut it in segments, and then they gave us the other side of the action with TQ and Mr. Sheng.

Then, the whole plan was revealed in a flashback after Mr. Sheng reported that the hermit had left the mansion.

The editing made sense, and it didn’t cause confusion among the viewers, and the story was seamless.

And that’s one thing I was complaining about in Hospital Playlist. The editing was terrible. The director/writer/whoever was trying to be clever but I think it failed when viewers couldn’t make sense of the events without watching the episode two, three times over.

  259. Yup, he’s the General and Governor so he definitely has the right to give those orders to the Hermit. ☺️

  260. I agree that this whole scene was greatly done unlike in HP. I did get lost a bit. That’s why I said you gave me lots and lots of information again which I appreciate. 😉

Aww I liked this scene too where TQ was telling God to let her go back to serve General Ji. 😍 And JH heard it and I liked his question – I asked you to be killed but you still want to work for me? 😁 He was teasing her. So cute!

  261. Aww. You’re right, agdr03.

Ji Zheng was waiting for TQ to show appreciation that he saved her. TQ was thanking Chunhua for running to JZ.

    Expectations =/= Reality 🙁

Chunhua: But you should thank Marquis Marvel (look at his face! He looked like a puppy expecting a treat! lol Even his guard side-eyed him) In order to save you, he nearly fought with the guards in Mansion Ji.

TQ looked at JZ and JZ looked back at her. lol. She didn’t thank him at all!

He ordered the others to go and then, he hugged her. “You’re alive. Thank god!”

Ahhh. I get it now. He was still in shock. He realized that he could have lost her then. According to him, it was the first time he felt so helpless and panicked.

lol. He didn’t know that it was all staged though. Poor guy.

He was going to hug her again but she stopped him because she still had blisters.

Ha. He wasn’t friend-zoned so much as he was “germ-zoned.”

    Our TQ was practicing “social-distancing”!!!!

  262. Mr Shen – amazing! His flattering skills are our again. 😂

The concern from JH – did you take your medicine? ☺️ After tat it’s -,you’re probably almost healed as you’re a smooth talker again. 😂

  263. ‘Our TQ was practicing “social-distancing”!!!!’

My gosh! Even in our drama rewatch, there’s social distancing too! 😂 Scary!

OT, that face cream is the only product placement here. 😄

  264. What’s with my typing tonight? 😱😂

  265. Awww…

JZ was explaining his feelings for TQ to his assistant. His assistant thought it was just a crush. But he said no.

The unexpected consequence of General Ji’s “Hermit Gambit” was JZ’s realization that he cared for TQ. General Ji might have rescued TQ from his mother, and from the bad guy (temporarily) but now he opened another can of worms.

JZ: Maybe. In the beginning, I just thought she was interesting. And I wanted to know more about her. But later, what I can see is her.

How did Viki sub this, agdr03? At 29:44.

JZ: Today, when she was in danger, I discovered that a little sparkle at the beginning, has gradually turned into a blazing fire.

lol. Why can’t Ji Heng say such poetic things? Why?? All I could remember was his “Impudence!”

  266. You’re right. The face cream is the only product placement in this whole Cdrama….and it’s not even available commercially. lol.

But I haven’t tried make-up from China. Have you? I’ve tried cosmetics from S. Korea and Japan. But I don’t think I’ve tried a Chinese brand. Weird.

  267. Did you see that? At 31:05.

It was the gardenia falling from out nowhere into the pond.

The steward warned him that getting close to TQ was going to be a disaster for him. He’d be accused of fraud. And he couldn’t marry her.
JZ: (smiled) I won’t force her. I will help her do whatever she wants. After that, I’ll find a way to help her back as a girl. By then everything will be fine.

Then he warned his steward never to let others know about TQ’s identity. Even to General J.

Steward: Such a picky master. He finally fell in love with a girl but she turns out to be a girl disguised as a man. It’s so complicated.

(This observation, however, is true for Ji Heng, too.)

And then the gardenia scene. It’s an interesting transition scene because we know that the gardenia is special for TQ and JH.

Then, we have TQ studying her medical books.

  268. How did Viki sub this, agdr03? At 29:44.

JZ – from the start, I merely thought she was interesting and was very curious about her. But gradually, my eyes only have for her.

When her life was in danger today, I then realised that initial sparkle gradually turned into a blaze of fire.

That’s how it’s subbed. I agree, why couldn’t JH say those? I could only remember’you’re life is mine, you’re my man’. 😆

  269. Me too, I haven’t tried Chinese make up. 😊 Well I guess it doesn’t help that I only put make up on special occasions. I’m happy with a lipstick for my working days. 😄

  270. Awww.

She was thinking of a way to be useful to JH so she wrote down the cure for insomnia. But she gave up because she knew that it was useless if she couldn’t get back to JH’s side again.

TQ: So stressful. Stressful. I don’t even know when can I go back to serve General Ji. My god! Please let me go back to General Ji as soon as possible! Ughhh.

I don’t think she was faking this because she wasn’t expecting him to come visit her.

HA! The difference between her reaction at the sight of him and JZ couldn’t be more heartbreaking (to JZ of course). She looked…as Mr. Darcy would say… “incandescent” with happiness. 🙂

  271. ‘And then the gardenia scene. It’s an interesting transition scene because we know that the gardenia is special for TQ and JH.
Then, we have TQ studying her medical books.’

Let’s put it literally, TQ has fallen in love with JH as it’s his pond. She’s studying her medical books because she still wants to help JH with his insomnia. ☺️ All he could think about was serving him again. That’s why she’s saying to God, please let me serve General Ji. ☺️

  272. From this episode:

Memorable line from JZ: When her life was in danger today, I then realised that initial sparkle gradually turned into a blaze of fire.

Memorable line from JH: I told you that your life belonged to me. Nobody can kill you without my permission.

Geeeee… thanks for making her feel very treasured, Ji Heng.

Although I understand what he was trying to say here, the painful fact is what he said simply came out wrong. I can’t spin that. “Nobody can kill you without my permission” sounded like he would consent to her being killed if the occasion or situation demanded her death.

But what he really should have said was, as long as he was there, nobody could kill her.

Did Viki sub it the same way?

  273. Oh good point! She was so happy to see him that she’s spitting out all the flattery there is, as Mr Sheng thought happily. ☺️

Meanwhile she was subdued with JZ. I think she was almost shocked that JZ can just hugged her like that. That’s why she’s got that look when he left her.

  274. Hahaha. It’s probably because of your coloring. Black hair, black eyebrows. There’s already a healthy contrast on your face.

But with me, if I don’t put on makeup, with my coloring, I look pale, ghostly, sickly, or washed-out. 🙂 Especially in the winter, I look like a vampire. No blood on my cheeks. Ugh. So I need coloring on my face to make me look alive.

  275. ‘Did Viki sub it the same way?‘

Yup! Exactly the same way. Yeah it just doesn’t sound romantic at all. If he said – I won’t let anyone harm you and I will protect you no matter what because you mine. You know 🤷🏻‍♀️

  276. “I’ve told you that your life belongs to me. Nobody can kill you without my permission.”

He should have emphasized the “protecting” part instead of the “killing” aspect.

And what did he mean by “your life belonged to me”? I’m giving him a pass because I understand that different centuries, different conventions and customs.

She was a doctor working for him sooo… yes, she would technically be his property.

  277. Oh true, it’s not good to look ghostly or very pale. ☺️ And you’re seeing clients all the time so it’s part of your job. At work I only really see my boss so a lipstick will do. 😊

  278. Me, I also like the way Ji Heng motioned for Mr. Sheng to leave them alone, and Mr. Sheng did it right away.

In contrast, Ji Zheng had to TELL Chunhua and his steward to leave them alone so he could tell TQ something. It wasn’t only appropriate for them to be left alone (since he knew she was a girl already) but it was also unusual (they weren’t often together).

Unlike JZ, Ji Heng was regularly seen in TQ’s company. Just the two of them. Mr. Sheng was used to being told to leave them alone.

  279. It’s all part of the brotherhood promise, you protected me so I’ll protect you. ☺️

The dialogue just doesn’t sound nice, let’s blame the scriptwriter. 😂

  280. Mr Sheng knew when they needed privacy. Except that one time when they were hugging each other. That was funny and the actor playing Mr Sheng did a good job. 😄

  281. This scene. I like this scene when he teased her.

They haven’t met in what? Two days, right? And the first thing he did was tease her about beheading her.

TQ: So stressful. Stressful. I don’t even know when can I go back to serve General Ji. My god! Please let me go back to General Ji as soon as possible! Ughhh.
JH: You almost got beheaded by my orders. Why do you still want to return?
TQ: My lord! My lord, it’s you. Is this real? My dream comes true! I’m super happy.

And her reaction to JH =/= reaction to JZ

She didn’t even know the full story about JH’s role in rescuing her from his mom. As far as she was told, JZ was the one who stepped in and was prepared to fight to get her released from Mr. Sheng.

This is the kind of appreciation that JZ was expecting from her. This happy and excited face.

All Ji Heng had to do was show up at her place and she was so appreciative already. He was her dream come true.

Of course, we know that TQ’s habit of overdoing her flattery to the point that Mr. Sheng just laughed it off as her being shameless again.

But her facial expression didn’t lie here. She was really happy to see him.

  282. Cheers! 🥂 Another episode done and dusted. Thank you! 🍪

I think the highlight was definitely the fake Shaman and how JH will try to save TQ again and again.

Also JZ realising that he loves TQ and viws to protect her too.

    Oh they’re brothers alright. ☺️

  283. yes, Mr. Sheng only made that one faux pas in Episode 22 when he barged in on them with JH’s arm around her.

  284. Ahh, I liked the difference in them because it’s so opposite of each other. But poor JZ. When you hug someone but that person doesn’t hug you back, it’s not meant to be. 😬

True! TQ wasn’t aware of what JH did for her but her happiness is real.

This is why I liked rewatching too. Those differences that I didn’t see before. ☺️

  285. And General Ji was back to his nagging and scolding ways. He couldn’t nag her for two days since he was avoiding her so his mother wouldn’t find out that he’d been visiting her sick bed.

    He held it all in.

But now that his mother was off the case, all his pent-up concern came out. And the things that he wanted to say, but couldn’t, came out.

JH: Did you really have chickenpox?
    TQ: Huh? (looking guilty)
JH: Have you taken medicine? It’s a pity for such a beautiful face.
TQ: Instead of not having medicine, I’m afraid of taking medicine. (whispering) Someone wants to murder me.
JH: Who dares to do that?
TQ: I don’t know either. But I guess he must be trusted by Madame Ji. Otherwise, how come Madame Ji believe him for all the bad news about me?
JH: I’ve told you that your life belongs to me. Nobody can kill you without my permission.
TQ: Yes, my lord. I’m not afraid of death. But I’m afraid if I die, I can’t stay and serve by your side.
JH: (smirking) I think you are getting better and better. See how talkative you are!
TQ: (swearing) I promise that all I just said is true! I really hate leaving you. I want to serve you forever!
JH: (smirking) If your face remains like this, don’t come to serve me anymore.
TQ: My lord, do you mean to say that if my face is fully recovered, I can go back to serve you?
JH: I remember you like to make some facial cream? And you said it’s traditional? Now, I want to see if it’s really effective.
TQ: Please be assured, my lord. The elderly in my family, my grandpa’s grandpa, studied traditional recipes, experimented thousands of time sto make this Yunifang Red Box. It’s very good for skincare. I’ll keep using it.
JH: Keep using it. Or else, your disobeying my order. Understood?
    TQ: Very well.
JH: (turning to leave then stopping) As far as I know, when you were ill, Zheng came to take care of you. And when you were in danger, you asked help from Zheng. Why don’t you come to me?
TQ: I forgot. And I’ve a little wish that you don’t really mean to kill me. Right?
JH: (smiling for a nano-second, because she is cute) You really think so?
    TQ: Mmm.

This must be one of the longest, continuing conversations they had in this drama. He missed talking to her and it showed. He was all over the place: he was concerned about her one second, then teasing her the next, then threatening her, and then showing jealous last.

His emotions were all over the place. Usually, he was on point. But here? All the things that he wanted to tell her the last two days just came out, like a verbal diarrhea. (lol).

  286. Okay, goodnight!!! See you in a few hours!

  287. ‘His emotions were all over the place. Usually, he was on point. But here? All the things that he wanted to tell her the last two days just came out, like a verbal diarrhea. (lol).‘

You’re right! I like that, verbal diarrhoea. 😂 It is their longest conversation after not seeing each other. He did have a lot to say when you think about it. ☺️

I wanted to add that Hermit Yang was right in what he said about JH and TQ being side by side. ☺️

  288. See you at the party! 🥳

I still have to organise my boyfriend. 🤣 Not sure if he owns a coffee shop or he’s the best Go player in the world. 🤔

  289. Are you coming dressed as a couple with coordinating outfits? lol.

  290. Of course! I like couple outfits. 😄 But I haven’t put together our story yet. My boyfriend is the best Go player in the world. 😉

I’ll get on it once I get home after picking up Animal Crossing for my eldest. 😄

  291. See you in a few hours, episode 15. ☺️

  292. See you in about 15 minutes. Getting my morning coffee ready.

  293. Almost ready too. Singing We’ve Got Tonight

    See you soon. 😊

  294. Here!!! Episode 15

At least the mom always thought that she looked pretty…like mother, like sons.

    “You look pretty handsome.”

  295. I like what TQ’s wearing in the scene with Madam Ji.

Ah, I like the advice that she gave to TQ, ‘in the future, you must watch your words and actions lest it invite gossips’.

  296. So much enthusiasm with vowing to serve General Ji and she will never disappoint Madam Ji’s care and concerns. 😆

See, she’s very firm here with her assistant. If she was like this, she probably won’t have any troubles in her life right from the start.!

  297. And when the mom told her that she could work for the General, TQ’s face lit up again. lol. What mom could resist her? She was all gungho about her job

“Dr. Tian Qi is really handsome. If, as Hermit Yuyang says, he can protect my son from disaster, his safety is extremely important then. Chen WuYoung. you have to keep him safe….Don’t hurt him without my orders.”

    Nice play by Ji Heng.

  298. Loyalty. Monarch. Love.

This is what JH was writing before TQ and Nr Sheng cane. Interesting.

Then he wrote love the people.

Oh my goodness! Her antics are really a gem! 😂 it was so quiet then she just starts loudly to say ‘I’m finally able to serve you General Ji!’. This with matching hand gestures. 😆

Lucky she noticed her over exaggeration! 👍🏻

OT. I think their using real candles because you can see the smoke. 😁

  299. I like how our Mr. Sheng is guiding TQ here to show just he right amount of “enthusiasm.”

Normally, I’d be irritated if an actress over-exaggerated but I don’t mind Sun Qian because the role demanded it. And because there’s the voice-over that said that Tian Qi herself was aware (and cringing) that she was being clownish. She had to be over-the-top to ingratiate herself.

This is my problem with “I’ve Fallen for You.” When that actress did OTT, I wanted to roll my eyes or exit out of the site.

  300. ‘Nice play by Ji Heng.‘

With his instructions to the Hermit, he really was able to get a protection for TQ from his Mom and Chen Wuyoung. 👏🏻

  301. –> He wrote down, “Loyalty. Monarch. Love.”
Then, he wrote “love the people.”

Ah…Is that his “agenda” for the day?

Thanks! I’m still watching the YT version and they didn’t translate the words.

Real candles?? Goodness! What an expensive production they made here.

But after they built those extra hospital(s) in Wuhan for the coronavirus patients, I can see how fast and efficient they are in constructing buildings.

  302. I like it that JH said to her to ‘just stop asking questions on certain matters, pretend to be stupid and you will live longer.’. 😄

I’m glad she had inkling of what he’d done though. I mean their a great thinking tandem. I can imagine them being great Governor and a great First Lady. ☺️

I’m not sure what she’s be called. 😄

  303. He wanted to know whether his plan worked but at the same time, he didn’t want to take credit for it. He didn’t want her to know that he protected her.

Ugh. If she’d known, then she probably wouldn’t have doubted him so much later when Sun Congrui appeared later. She would have trusted him to help her again from behind.

  304. I was actually watching IFFY this afternoon and I thought the only thing that’s going for me there is the OST. 😂 It has good music, I have to say. Otherwise the way the story unfolds is not thought of very well. Even the dialogue are not that good? I mean maybe they want it to be funny? But I haven’t really laughed out loud yet. My eyes we’re rolling when she realised it’s the other guy that she’s after. 😄 So she wants a divorce.

  305. Ah…Is that his “agenda” for the day?
Thanks! I’m still watching the YT version and they didn’t translate the words.
Real candles?? Goodness! What an expensive production they made here.

Maybe it is his agenda. ☺️

Yeah, the candles are real. Just as real as JZ’s feeling for TQ are because his given her his jade so he can protect her.

Notice her gasp when JZ said your existence is like a gift from God to me and when I’m with you, I’m truly happy. Alarm bells 🔔 So her reply was – let’s hope we don’t end up using it.

  306. She must have known that she sounded like a badly written romance novel. Like who says these things…even Dr. Ding who’s a bootlicker doesn’t flatter like this.

TQ: My lord, do you know what? When I was sick and dying, at the thought of not being able to serve you, it broke my heart. I can’t stop thinking about you night or day. You even came to see me. I’m truly blessed. I want to take care of you for now and forever.

(And she raised her hand to swear.)

Then, instead of him shouting at her, “Enough! You’re too noisy!” he paid her a backhanded compliment, “You’re quite an eloquent man. Why don’t you become a storyteller?”

Meaning, whatever. I don’t believe a thing you’re saying but go ahead if it pleases you to flatter me.

And Mr. Sheng approved of their interaction because he was looking “cute,” too, like TQ. He was changing from being fierce and serious 24/7.

I like this Cdrama because we didn’t get a lot of side stories. The focus was almost always on our couple. We got to have a lot of interactions. If ever we had scenes with JZ, they were either to move the plot forward or to contrast her relationships between the two brothers.

  307. Oh! So the brother is the other guy???
Are you sure? They aren’t going to change again. You’re ahead of me now. I stopped at episode 12.

No. I wasn’t smiling when I watch IFFY. I was frowning most of the time. I’m really going to write a review because I’m annoyed with that reviewer on Youtube who gave this such a high recommendation. What the heck?? False advertising. Her rec sucks. lol.

  308. I didn’t realised that in this episode is where JH will be told that it was TQ whose with JZ when Lord Sun’s son was humiliated.

It’s like one trouble after another. 😆

  309. You know what, I realized that I’ve an “Episode 15, part 2” written up already. But I forgot to post it. I only posted Part 1. Oh well….

Just like his older brother, JZ told her, “You’re my man” but lolol. But her reaction??!! She didn’t like that idea. It wasn’t distaste or disgust. Just awkwardness. She looked uncomfortable with JZ’s offer of protection.

    Thanks but no thanks.

    Poor guy.

  310. Yes please, just write your review. I’m only on episode 8. She was about to have a bath with him and he was ready when she came and said she wants a divorce. 😁 The bath was for her to check the birthmark of younger brother but she heard from the other guy that those kites are drawn by him and no one else. She’s heartbroken of course. 😱

I didn’t realised too that divorce was easy back then? She had her document. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  311. TQ was remembering JH while she was with JZ. 😍 How can that seller remember how JH looks when he didn’t say who he was. 😁

Yes, this series concentrated well on the main leads. I really love it too.

Hmp! Meanwhile JH is remembering their day out too when TQ held his hand too. 😆 Look at home so annoyed when he saw them. 😠

  312. Yes. This episode was fast-paced.

So many things happened and set in place that would move the plot later on.

    1. We had the mom commanding her bad guy, “Don’t hurt her until I tell you too.” That’s going to come in play later.

    2. We had this conversation between Lord Sun and his son. He told his son that JH couldn’t be the king’s favorite and most trusted guy forever. JH was both in charge or regional politics and military affairs. He thought he was unbeatable so the dad would try to stir the pot.

    3. Then this meeting with JZ and JZ’s jade promise

    4. And so on.

The writer was setting up everything nicely.

  313. re. IFFY.
    I’m counter-reviewing the review.

    The show was crude.
    The actress’ voice was high-pitched.
The male lead character was a jerk.
    The conversation was shallow.
I can go on and on.

  314. You must have forgotten about episode 15, part 2 because you were busy with trying to organise your now canceled business trip. 😊

Can’t you add it here? 😊

  315. JZ – don’t listen to rumours, you have to trust me.

JH doesn’t listen to rumours but it’s TQ that’s irking him about the rumours. He was furious!

Oh my goodness! There goes the horny word as her excuse! 🤦🏻‍♀️Let’s not forget that she also reminded him of the porno books. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

  316. About JZ,

in the last episode, he was worried that he couldn’t save Tian Qi in time, every time. He felt that he was lucky to be around when she was “captured” by JH to be killed. He wanted her out of his brother’s mansion but in the meantime, he was giving her his jade.

He thought his brother was a threat to TQ. He was unaware that JH had planned everything to save TQ.

So he forced his jade on her, saying, “if you hold this, it means you’re my man.”

He continued, “I’ve been through a lot of danger during these years of traveling. But when you were in danger, it was the first time I got scared. Tian Qi, I don’t want to lose anyone important to me. Take it as if it were for my peace of mind.”

Was the sub correct here @agdr03?

If it was somebody else who offered the jade, it would have been romantic. It was like a lover’s token.

He wanted her to take it for his PEACE of mind, that is, he’d rest easy knowing she was under his protection. She wouldn’t be killed off easily.

But he also meant the jade to be a PIECE of him. That is, everywhere she went, he would be with her in spirit. It was a lover’s token, like a ring. She was his.

So of course, if you were a girl, you wouldn’t be ready for this kind of “commitment.” I know, I would.

But he was really sweet about the whole thing so if I were TQ, too, I wouldn’t be able to shout, “heck no, dude!” to his face. He wasn’t forcing me, i.e., he wasn’t a hard sell. But I’d know the hidden meaning and it was burdensome.

He would make a good car salesman.

  317. I like that TQ is still trying to get back on his good side by telling him that she can show him some places that’s fun to go. But he said not interested. 😒

Oh this connects to the epilogue like @Fern said. I guess he didn’t get to see the market town a lot that’s why they must go to it often to sight see. 😊

  318. ah. Here’s the gift from god comment. (I’m sorry I’m taking so long. I’ve to type the dialogue all over.)

But lord, this girl! She must have known that this guy is in love with her, especially when he tells her, “Tian Qi, your existence means so much to me. You’re like a gift to me, given by god.”

JZ told her, “You’re like a gift to me. I feel truly happy when I’m with you. So take it (the jade) as if it were for myself.”

**what did the Viki sub say here, agdr03?

In modern day, it’s like a guy giving you an engagement ring. He can’t just say,
“Heyyyy. You’re a gift from god. Take this diamond ring. But it doesn’t mean anything really. It’s just to protect you in the event that you encounter assassins.”

That’s silly. The ring, by itself, is a love declaration. Even when he downplays it, (like he did), “You…You don’t have to take this too seriously,” he can’t ignore the meaning behind the gift.

The poor guy is really in love with her. But he’s afraid to tell her directly.

  319. Yes, that is the sub at Viki too. It was nice of him to give it to her and really it’s all about protecting her life. But yeah, it was burdensome too. As much as JZ thought about it, TQ felt that is was too much and yeah, you can’t just say, no I’m good, thanks.😄

  320. Yes. All the drawings were different. The seller had:

    gorgeous and attractive type
    muscular and masculine type
    chivalrous and gallant type

Basically, it’s draw-the-General-that-you-like. There’s one to suit your mood. General Ji could be whatever the buyer dreamed him to be.

But I think I know what the point is. To her, he was all of that: gorgeous, attractive, muscular and masculine, chivalrous and gallant.

She said it herself, “I think General J is the most honorable man. So I’m not surprised that so many girls like him. Besides his position, he’s also good-looking and well-built. He can be enjoyed even when he’s just standing there. If girls don’t like him, they aren’t normal.”

lol. She was as loopy as the artist of those sketches.

  321. JZ told her, “You’re like a gift to me. I feel truly happy when I’m with you. So take it (the jade) as if it were for myself.”

Viki has – you’re existence is like a gift from God. Only when I’m with you, I’m truly happy. Hence regard this gift of jade to you as doing it for myself.

That’s how it is. Yeah he lives her but can’t say it outright.

  322. I thought she was describing me. 😂

  323. I like it when they discover things about each other like their ride in town after he scolded her.

See this one I like it when he said, if anyone bullies you, I’m your man and I’m your shield. 😍

  324. If Episode 11 (was it 11??) was all about JH’s date with her, then Episode 15 is JZ’s turn.

But even when they were out on a “date,” the conversation always circled back to Commander Ji. JZ asked her how she viewed General Ji. The other girls in town wanted to marry him. Did she also feel that way?

That’s when she answered naturally, without a bit of self-consciousness that he was attractive. A girl would have to be crazy, not to like him.

JZ pointed out that she was also a girl so did she feel that way?

She waved at her body and said, “But I’m now a man.”

Nice try. Didn’t she have that daydream? That he was teaching her how to use the sword? And that was after their date, wasn’t it?

Hey!!!! Did you see that? Ji Heng gave her the access permit after THEIR date. He felt sorry for her because she couldn’t go out to see her family AND she asked for it so he gave it to her.

And now Ji Zheng gave her his jade before their date. He was worried that he couldn’t protect her when he was out of sight so he gave it to her as a protection although she didn’t ask for one.

Nice symmetry there. But what’s up with these brothers? They’re like in contest to win her heart although they didn’t know it themselves. lol.

  325. Lol. So she stirs Lors Sunri’s son because her shield is with her. 😆

    He’s my people = He’s my person 😂

I like the background music after they continue riding.

Oh question, when did he give her a handkerchief? 🤔 Do you remember?

  326. They know the contest on some level. It’s just that JH doesn’t know why he is jealous. I love throughout this episode how JH can be so still and poised while TQ gesticulates and chatters. Still, she was able to think up good reasons to watch erotic dancing and get JZ and herself off the hook.

  327. Yes, it would have been such a downer, right?

Guy getting down on his knees with an engagement ring.
Girl replying, “No. I’m good. Thanks.”

    lol. Pretty savage, right?

No guy could salvage that situation.

So yes, JH was really dancing around here. “Please. please please take my jade pendant but hey! it’s not big deal. Really.”

So yes, I like TQ here for handling the situation well. I would have laughed out loud.

  328. Oh good pick up on both brothers giving her something after/before their date. 👍🏻☺️

Oh TQ said it was one of her rewards from JH. They didn’t show it anymore. Look at JH’s smile when she said she keeps it with her and takes care of it well. 😍

    I like their conversations.

  329. Another Ji Zheng moment! (I’m giving the guy the spotlight here because I pity him.)

The cart almost mowed her down but JZ grabbed her hand. (JH frowning) Then, TQ moved away and almost got ran over again by another cart if JZ didn’t pull her back. (JH frowning again)

At that point, I thought if JH had been beside TQ he would have scolded her already for being stupid. Why couldn’t she look at where she was walking? After all, when they were strolling down the same street, it was TQ who was rescuing him from bumping into people and getting into fights (remember?). But now that she was with Ji Zheng, she seemed so oblivious to her surroundings.

But Ji Zheng took this opportunity to make a move on her. He offered to hold her hand.

“There are so many vehicles. I should hold your hand.”

And she immediately answered, “Ugh, no please, my lord. We’re both men! Others will laugh at us.”

lol. He just smiled at her. Because she was clueless. He was flirting with her. But she took his offer literally.

  330. I like that TQ treasures the used handkerchief so much more than the expensive jade. But then she says she’s keeping it nice and will give it to a girl one day. Lol.

  331. @Fern nnnnnnnnnn! 😂 So cool to have you join us. 😉

I agree that they both know the contest but just not the level and really JZ has an advantage.

Yeah JH is always poised, he’s always swagging whenever he walks. 😂

  332. That’s where you see the difference when you know which one you like more. 😄

The other one she protects, but the other she couldn’t care less. Poor JZ. 😬

But yeah, JZ is a good guy. He’s a descent man in the end for accepting what is not meant to be.

  333. ‘She’s keeping it nice and will give to a girl someday’.

We need to keep up with the pretence even if the sexy dancing and porno books are still fresh. 😆

  334. At the whorehouse…

JH burst in on them and ordered his brother to “Get out!” Was this the first time he’d spoken to his brother so rudely? I don’t recall him shouting angrily at his brother before.

TQ: What are you doing here?

And he started shaming her. “You must remember that you’re just a doctor. Zheng is the son of a noble family.”

Okayyyyy… he sounded like a bad kdrama mother. You know the trope. Paying off the girlfriend to stay away from her son. Slapping the girlfriend with a wad of cash and so on.

JH continued, “Are you shameless? How could you bring him to this kind of place to watch dancing?”

And she pointed out that other men from other noble families could watch these shows. So why not him and JZ. The YT sub said, “We’re an inclusive people.”

How did Viki subbed that? Was she asking why they were different from the other noblemen who patronized the restaurant?

    Thanks.

JH then said, “I don’t care about others. But Zheng is my brother. You can’t get close to him. (ah!) You two hold hands in the street. (didn’t they too?) How will others think of you? They’ll think the two of you are… Grrr!”

lol. He couldn’t say it of course.

Meanwhile, TQ was processing it. “He’s so angry. Does he really think…But that’s so wrong!!”

See here. This could be interpreted in two ways. The LGTB would protest and say that this Chinese drama is homophobic. 🙂 But in the context of this drama, TQ was thinking that it was absurd to accuse her (the female Tian Qi) of forming a relationship Ji Zheng because she doesn’t like that way. It was an uncomfortable thought… and we saw that, didn’t we? When she was offered the jade.

lol. The writer was being sneaky. It was abiding by the Chinese Ministry of Culture’s rules but at the same time, it was teasing the viewers to think however they want to interpret this scene.

But her reaction to JZ when he gave her the jade was almost the same as her reaction to JHeng when he suggested that she and JZ were having a liaison. It was “NO. No way. No. “

  335. I just 🙄 at Ning’er. I know it’s extra painful having cuts to your hands but she’s nasty for slapping Chunhua. 🙅🏻‍♀️

I’m glad Madam Ji set her straight. 👍🏻

  336. No, JH didn’t say get out to JZ. He said – you two with matching pointing finger. Then he said ‘ Mr Sheng, take Zheng outside. He wasn’t rude to JZ.

Agree! Almost the same reaction with the jade and denying she’s gay. 😄

  337. Hey, Fern. What are you doing here? Did your daughter lend you her laptop? hahaha.

    Glad you’re here.

I’m sure JH knew that the contest/sibling rivalry was on. To me, that was one reason he kept asking TQ about her feelings for her brother or if there was another reason for her staying around Ji Mansion. He wanted to make sure that she was falling for his big brother, consciously or unconsciously.

    But yes, the erotic dancing.

When she realized that JH was upset, she backpedalled. Earlier, she was protesting the double standards. The other guys could watch shows like this, but she and JZ weren’t allowed. But now she opted for the “lesser offense” and agreed that this sort of show was indeed bad because they were erotic.

But what could she do? She was horny sort of guy. She needed this lewd entertainment. And she was positively drooling.

(and JH had this thing for drool, remember? He didn’t like her drooling all over his bed.”

So he was grossed out, “Wipe your mouth. Disgusting! You’re horny!”

(Note: I like how he got his payback on their honeymoon night. He took out the book and Tian Qi was the one who was “disgusted” at his horniness. lol. I think she said, “You’re awful” but the word should have been “you’re disgusting” to make everything go full circle. lol.)

And she reminded him that she’d bought him that porn book and she had a stack at home as tall as him.

Really. She knew how to pushed his buttons!

He thought then that maybe he got the wrong idea. And maybe his younger brother was into those sort of stuff, too. His brother admitted that he liked “interesting” things so he probably was going around with her because they shared fascination for “interesting” things. lol.

JH is soooo clean and gullible.

  338. Hmm so maybe after just one day after the town incident, JH thought about how to stop TQ and JZ from being close, get him to marry.

He’s jealousy is becoming more stronger because he thought of JZ holding TQ’s hand. But it’s a given as well that JZ will need to get married.

  339. JH is soooooo clean alright! He doesn’t know how to do it. 😱😂 He just knows how to kiss. 😆

Hehehe that would have been nice if TQ said you’re disgusting after seeing the poem book.

  340. Aaah. He didn’t shout at JZ. Thank goodness. Although JZ was giving him a lot of headache because of the time JZ spent with TQ, he was still patient with him.

He was being unfair, though. He didn’t scold JZ. He only went after TQ. lol. TQ was the bad influence on his brother.

Remember that conversation with Mr. Sheng earlier? Mr. Sheng didn’t want to tell him about TQ and his brother hanging around.

(lol. I think Mr. Sheng actually found a way to spill the beans to the General without the General getting mad at him. All he had to do was hem-and-haw and Ji Heng, always impatient, had no choice but to order him to “Just say it!”

Sheng: The scouts came back with news. There’s no one close to Marquis Marvel in particular.
JH: So the rumor came out nowhere?
Sheng: Not exactly. But as far as I know, Marquis Marvel is really close to one man. But the man’s identity is really special. I don’t know what the relationship is between them.
JH: What do you mean? Who is this person?
Sheng: Speaking of this person, you know him well. He’s Dr. Tian Qi.
    JH: Tian Qi??
    Sheng: Yes.
JH: Where’s he? I want to see him now.
Sheng: He went out. And MM went out, too.

lol. Why was he just looking for TQ. He could look for his brother, too?

  341. There’s the contest @Fern , both brothers trying to say that the potential brides suited them both.

Good expressions by TQ here. She’s like what’s going on? 🤷🏻‍♀️

  342. I laughed out loud when JH slammed his hand on the table and TQ gave that little sound. 😂

JH was fishing when he asked TQ who does she think suits JZ.

  343. I like their conversation in the carriage. She told him about eating insects and bugs while she was lost in the forest. And he immediately empathized.

JH: I’ve heard you lived a hard life. I didn’t expect this. You always act heartless. I can’t imagine you’ve been through this.
TQ: The old days were hard but every day I live now is super sweet. But I can’t compete with you. You were the god of war. You experienced a lot.

Meaning, JH must have had a harder time than her. Although she was scrounging around for food, she wasn’t in battle. She didn’t fear being killed and she didn’t have to kill to survive.

JH: Actually the first time I went to war. I was scared too.
TQ: But rumor had it, you were a devil on the battlefield.
JH: No one was born to be determined.

Was this the correct sub, agdr03?

JH: (continuing)I’m not. You’re not, either, Tian Qi.

And then, he said the highlight of this episode. “If someone bullies you, remember that you’re my man, and I’m your shield.”

    TQ: Thank you my lord.

A different approach from Ji Zheng when he offered to protect her, don’t you think agdr03?

JH was saying that he recognized that she’d been brave all this time. But she didn’t need to fight all alone now that he was there, too.

JZ however was the knight for the damsel in distress. He was going to come to her rescue. Giddyap, horsey, let’s rescue TQ!

For me, after that incident with the chicken pox, JH figured out that TQ was a fighter, too. That she wasn’t going to sit quietly and be taken away. She was going to fight for her survival, too.

And he knew this very well, because he’d seen her do it every time he threatened to kill her. She’d devised a way to get out of his “death” orders.

But Ji Zheng didn’t know this survivor side of her. To him, she was like that flower to be protected.

  344. Oh yes. JH was definitely fishing when he asked TQ.

You know this episode was JH’s episode really. In the whole 28 episodes, I think this was his “moment” to shine. lol.

  345. True. Mr Sheng is a genius. He knows how to soften or stall the story while knowing that his Lord will get upset.

Hahaha JH was very unfair and he only scolded TQ and not JZ. You’d think he’d ask him what exactly are you doing? 😄

  346. JH: No one was born to be determined.

Was this the correct sub, agdr03?

Yes, it’s exactly like that. I like that in that conversation they were able to say things to each other and talk freely.

Agree! That’s the highlight for this episode, if someone bullies you then remember that I’m your man and I’m your shield. 😍

I like that difference in protecting TQ by both brothers but of course we’d prefer our FL to not be a damsel in distress. She needs to be able to protect herself somehow. TQ’s resolves came from her parents too when they said to her, you need to live your life.

  347. I liked your damsel in distress idea. TQ was reluctant to have JZ be her knight in shining armour, but she didn’t mind if JH defended her.

I loved TQ’s response to the choice of whom JZ should marry. Very clever, and wise as well. Put a full stop to the conversation.

Must go now. Hiking on the moors in 5 mins.

  348. I’m skipping to the last scene (because I need to go soon) when they left JH after that bride-talk.

I found TQ cute and hug-able when she whispered to Ji Zheng, “It’s because someone gossiped about us. They said we were so close. And they also said I seduced you.

I love JZ’s grin here! Rats! He should have made a move here. Kiss the girl, dude!

    — or he could have approached his brother and told him the truth. That TQ was a girl, and he wanted to marry TQ, and his brother promised to help him no matter what to get him married to the girl of his choice.

lol. If he’d done these things the ending would have been different for him.

Tian Qi continued, “So General Ji wants you to marry. That’s good for you. (then she noticed his grin) But what are you laughing at?

I love her sulking face. I want to pinch it.

Then still grinning at her, Ji Zheng said, “They said you seduced me?”

Now, he was definitely flirting with her here. He was making her aware of his physical presence, making her feel the difference between them. She was a girl and he was a boy.

    I’m grinning, too.

He took a step, then another and another. He was encroaching on her space and making her back up.

Ji Zheng asked her, “Did you do that?”

Obviously, she didn’t. It was like she was magnet and he was steel. He was approaching her because he was attracted to her.

TQ: I…I… how could that be possible.

She didn’t get his point. In her mind, there was no way she’d seduce him. She wasn’t into him. But the point of his “walking” exercise was he was seducing her. It was his choice to go after her.

She didn’t understand what he was getting at because they’re on different wavelengths.

His face grew serious then. I think he realized that it was now was a good time to finally come clean.

JZ: I don’t care what others say. Qi, actually I…

    And JH’s guards came. lol.

And that’s it for him. He’d never have a chance to “flirt” with her like this again. pwahahaha.

  349. True. She didn’t mind being a damsel in distress if the right knight was going to come for her. And to her the white knight is JH.

And yes, because JH still believed TQ was a guy here, his take on “protecting” her was different from JZ. Ji Zheng was all about damsel in distress, I’m Tarzan/you’re Jane kind of protection.

But Ji Heng thought Tian Qi was a guy so he expected her to put up an effort, a decent effort, to save herself. But now that he was there as her “blood brother,” she didn’t have to go at it alone. She could rely on him, too.

I guess if he’d known that she was a girl, he’d also do the Ji Zheng route, i.e., I’ll do everything for you, just sit there and relax.

That was why she got upset at both in the last episode, wasn’t it? Because the brothers didn’t inform her of their plan or something? They acted on their own without letting her know.

  350. If JZ told the truth to JH, will he actually admit that he’s attracted to TQ too? Maybe. Interesting if the story did go that way.

Oh the flirting, I’m not good with that as well. If I’m not interested there’ll be no reaction from me. I’m dead as a rock. 😂

You’re so right, no more flirting from JZ after this. 😁

So this is JH’s moment, please explain when your free. ☺️

  351. Enjoy the hike @Fern ! ☺️

  352. Explain it for me ok. Thanks 😊

That’s another episode done! Thanks! ☺️

I’ll go and sleep now. We’re going to mass at 8am tomorrow, I mean today. ☺️

    Have a good day!

  353. Whoops, sorry agdr03. I didn’t catch that. What did you want me to explain?

No masses here. Just on TV. 🙁

Good night!!! Another episode done (as soon as I explain whatever you wanted me to explain).

  354. You know this episode was JH’s episode really. In the whole 28 episodes, I think this was his “moment” to shine. lol.

    👆🏼 This one. ☺️

We still have mass here while abiding the rules and restrictions.

    Laters! 😉

  355. Whooops. I’m sorry. That’s a typo. I mean JZ. Ji Zheng. 🙁

    Sorrrrrrryyyy.

  356. ‘I love JZ’s grin here! Rats! He should have made a move here. Kiss the girl, dude!’ That part was so funny. JZ was really enjoying the situation, wasn’t he. TQ was saved by the bell, I mean guards. Not that it would have worked anyway, as you say.

The short hike was good. Very windy, though; blew away the cobwebs as they say, and refreshed us. The gorse is starting to bloom, so it brightened the overcast day. Once we were over the border of the park, we saw wild ponies and sheep. One sheep had a baby lamb curled up with it right on the side of the road. It’s just a quarter hour uphill from here.

  357. Oh okie. I thought it might have been JZ because he did a lot in this episode as you said. ☺️

@Fern , I wish I can have your views of the ponies and lambs here but we don’t. ☹️

  358. @adgr03, I will send via pm3 contact. If you both agree, she can forward to you or scold me if appropriate. Mothers’ Day here but everyone is asleep. I quite like it.

  359. Aww Happy Mother’s Day to you @Fern 🌺🌸🌼 Enjoy it. 😘

Sorry, what is it that you’re going to send? ☺️

  360. Just a picture of ponies for purposes of good cheer.

  361. Is it Mother’s Day where you are? I know in the USA it’s a couple of months later.

  362. Oh ok, I’d like to see it 😄

  363. Ok. I’ll check my b3tches email later. 😂 and forward it to Agdr03.

  364. No, our Mother’s Day is in May. ☺️

Thanks @pm3 for the pics! 😄

  365. Thank you! 🌞

  366. done!
    🙂
agdr03, it should be in your inbox.

  367. Cute pics @Fern 😄 The lamb was looking straight at you. 😍 thanks!

It’s nice to have that view close to you. I walked to Mom’s today and only saw houses and parks.

  368. Lucky, I guess. Uphill is that empty landscape; downhill is the sea.

  369. @agdr03, I hope that your mom is doing well. How nice to be able to walk over to her home! I’m going back outside for a bit of sun and tidying.

  370. Thank you @Fern , yeah when hubby and I made a decision to buy a house we agreed that it needs to be close to Mom and Dad. I’d like that scenery, uphill is the empty landscape:downhill is the sea. That’s my kind of retirement. 🙂

  371. Howdy! I hope you’re ok?

  372. We’re okay so far. Are you well, too?

Just when we are supposed to stay in, the sun comes out and the trees are blossoming. Haha, I tried to kill off a camellia tree that was in the wrong place several years ago. It has re-sprouted and produced one stem of the same red camellias as in ‘Weather’.

We will fill these lock-down days with projects. We can plant seeds for summer crops and flowers; try to fill the dog-dug pits in the back garden lawn; trim & tidy; spring clean; etc. I will ask younger daughter to be my fitness instructor for additional allowance. Older daughter can be my nutrition expert.

How is the home school/boredom patrol going for you? Are you feeling that you can cope alright? Facebook is full of good ideas/projects for younger children, but you have to wade through so much doom & gloom to find them. I really am not sure if I could have done very well if mine were still in primary school. It will take a lot of determination and planning, I suppose.

  373. We’re ok too so far. It’s the first day of home schooling and it wasn’t so bad because the school has set guidelines already. I just check with the boys and made sure they’re getting the information and that they’re actually working on it. My boys aren’t bored yet but give it another day. I agree, if my boys were in primary school too, I might be exhausted every day.

For a break my eldest does skateboarding inside the house but we don’t really have a long hallway for it. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I couldn’t decide when to have our walk so I’ll see how we go tomorrow. My clearing of stuff haven’t started yet but definitely tomorrow too.

You’re set plan is great. I haven’t been on fb for a long time but I can check it out. Thanks 😊

We just need to take it day by day. I think I’m still trying to take this all in. It’s like sometimes I feel ok sometimes I don’t. 🙍🏻‍♀️

  374. @agdr03, I had assumed that your boys were younger. Blimey, skateboarding in the hall won’t cover it, lol. I wish we still had a trampoline. Most of the at-home projects I saw were for keeping smaller children amused. My daughter (14 yo) is studying well for now, but she is the active and sociable one who will get bored first.

Hang in there. Are you mainly worried for your Mom?

  375. My eldest is still 14 for another 15 minutes, it’s his birthday tomorrow, youngest is 12. Yup the hall won’t cover it. ☺️

It’s probably a lot of things, my Grandma, parents, families overseas, my job.

True, we just need to hang in there and have faith. 🙏

  376. My elder is 18. My younger will be 15 at the end of April. They have gone up on the moor just now with my husband as their daily outing. Let’s hope they don’t murder each other in the car. 😅

I’ve had a long walk already today with the dogs, so I’m on supper duty. Trying something new, so must look up a recipe.

  377. lol. skateboarding inside the house??!! You’re a cool mom!

I called my boys up and told them that if they were out of food, they could come over and raid my fridge and pantry. But they said they were good and they didn’t hoard. I’m proud that they’re all independent and grown-up but can’t they just be a teensy-weensy bit NEEDY? I need to be needed. lol.

    Anyway….

Their girlfriends are in the medical field. One is a hospital doctor and the other one is in research. They said that this virus is new and they’re still discovering a lot of things. For now, to be on the safe side, take paracetamol for fever. Yes to Tylenol. No to Motrin or Advil. Of course, consult your personal doctor for everything.

    Hang in there!

  378. When I was little we used to skate board and roller skate in the basement in the winter, round and round the giant fire-breathing furnace in the centre. Until one night most of the old ceiling tiles fell down on us. My father was so PO’d. I had forgotten about that until @agdr03 mentioned the skateboard. Yesssss. She is a cool mom!

My husband is in bio-med research, too. He said that the government requested all of his University’s PCR machines that weren’t already in use for COVID19 research to be re-deployed as COVID testing machines. There is so much to plan, change, train, communicate and implement with correct priorities and contracts in place. It will take many minds working together. I admire those who are taking this on in local government, healthcare and education.

Please take care of yourselves and get enough sleep and exercise to help cope.

  379. “Let’s hope they don’t murder each other in the car. 😅”

@Fern , do you mean your girls fighting each other? 😄 I find my boys have the same tendencies sometimes but mostly because of my eldest as he thinks he has the upper hand because he is the first one. As if 😂 I tend to always scold him if this happens.

I thought that was fun, you being able to skateboard and roller blade in the basement. I’m not really a sporty person but I love playing tennis and badminton. 🙂

  380. “lol. skateboarding inside the house??!! You’re a cool mom!”

Thanks but I’m not sure about the cool mom because I felt my bp going up whenever I see him go up and down. 😂

Awww, I’d be proud too if my boys were like your boys. I can’t imagine when my boys don’t need me as much anymore. That would be life changing. 🙂

I bought 1 each of the paracetamol but my sister said I cannot use the other one for fever like you said. Hopefully we won’t need to use both.

We’ll always be grateful to all those people who are at the front and behind in fighting this cvirus. God bless them all.

  381. @agdr03, yes, paracetamol is the one to use for the virus. I normally avoid it and use ibuprofen because of effects of paracetamol on liver at high doses, but ibuprofen is not recommended now. (I used to work for a liver disease researcher.)

Husband says there is some evidence that ibuprofen may suppress the immune system. My husband believes the evidence is ‘scanty’ and if you can’t get paracetamol use ibuprofen if you have nothing else. I would recommend official guidelines. If you have had reactions to either in the past, best call your doctor for alternatives. Ugh. I had pneumonia about 10 years ago and the doctor prescribed a normal painkiller that also had codiene. It worked but I had strange dreams.

  382. Younger daughter has made an exercise chart for me. She is SO chuffed to be able to bully me! Planks, sit ups, even kettle bells. Help!😂

The girls bicker because they each like to be alpha. The older has better logic and vocabulary so the younger gets very frustrated and turns to less acceptable means. They got along yesterday and took nice photos. They went to a stone circle. The stones were casting long shadows because it was late in the day!

  383. I prefer ibuprofen too @Fern , I’ve only used paracetamol to the kids when their younger so we’ve gotten used to it but now I have to remember that the paracetamol is the one to use. Thanks 😊

Go! Go! Go with the exercise! 😂 Good to know you’re girls had a nice time yesterday. We didn’t walk today because it’s raining. But I need to move my a – – otherwise I’d have the extra weight. 😭

  384. Haha. I know what you mean about weight. I told my daughter that she could weigh me but not tell me the result. I don’t need depression on top of everything else. 😢😉

  385. “I don’t need depression on top of everything else.”

    Hear! Hear! High five! 😂

  386. Sleep well. I’m going to hang bed linens outside today because I can. Whoop, whoop!☀🌞😎

  387. Thanks, have a nice day, enjoy the sun! 🌞😉
