A Piece of Your Mind: List of OSTs

I missed another moon reference yesterday. I’ll update that post when I’ve time later. This scene is from Episode 3. JiSoo already passed away in Norway. There’s no moon in the sky. The branches, like hundreds of tiny fingers, are reaching for nothing.

Most of the songs in this drama sound alike to me. They remind me of the indie/ alternative/ folk music that I hear while in line at Starbucks ordering my tall toffee nut frappuccino, double blended, with extra whip. Every time the background music comes on, I crave coffee. I’m thankful that I’ve simple cravings.

This is a work in progress.

1. “Slowly Fall” by Ha Hyun Sang

Slowly Fall

Hi
I saw you as you go
It’s flashing light
It’s flashing light
Is all with you
Accelerate through the light
It’s slowing down in your eye
Ha ah ah ah
Ha ah ah
Nothing anew
Went through the night
It’s gonna be a day
the night is on our way
And it is so far
It’s slowy falling off
I’m holding it now
Before it’s going
Away

2. “Rain or Shine” by Elaine

Rain or Shine

Say you’ll be alright
When I see you
And I feel you

I feel
When I see through your eyes
I can feel you
But don’t know why

Maybe I’ll one day
Find you home
Go on to your way

I wish I would be the one
Everywhere I see you now
I will always
And always be here

I wish I would be the one
Why can’t you hear me out
So I’ll always
And always be here

Say that you’ll be alright
When I hold you
And I will stay here

You know
When I wait for your eye
I can feel you
And you know I’ll follow you

Daily I worry
That you’ll be fine
Go on to your way

I wish I would be the one
Everywhere I see you now
I will always
And always be here

I wish I would be the one
Why can’t you hear me out
So I’ll always
And always be here

I wish I would be the one
Everywhere I see you now
I will always
And always be here

I wish I would be the one
Why can’t you hear me out
So I’ll always
And always be here

3. Untitled, unreleased song A

Amidst the snow falling through the cold wind
You were like a period mark,
Lost the way after wandering without any promise
As I miss you so much, a bittersweet smile is on my lips
I’m really missing you
Walking along together and matching our steps, I’m thinking of you
Stored nicely in my mind. Please remember us
Reaching my hand out to the night sky, I make a wish
For you
My clumsy feelings
Always passed by despite feeling sorry
Again, walking lonesomely with the cold wind
I’m missing you again
Walking together while matching our steps
I’m thinking of you
Stored nicely in my mind. Please remember us
Reaching my hand out to the night sky, I make a wish
For you
Don’t forget me
Reaching my hand out to the night sky, I’m thinking of you
Stored nicely in my mind. Please remember us
Reaching my hand out to the night sky, I make a wish
I’m really missing you

Thanks, @welmaris, for jotting this down for us.

4. Untitled, unreleased song B

5. Teaser of “Be Your Moon” by Lasse Lindh

  1. Thanks for the OST list. Haven’t really gotten to it and haven’t seen episode 5 too. I’ll see how I go tomorrow because it’s Good Friday already.

We can never forget the music of a drama.

Funny you want coffee whenever you hear it. 😄

  2. Yes, weird right? Coffee and the OSTs.

  3. Be Our Moon by Lasse Lindh is beautiful too. He’s Swedish but he already wrote OST for Kdramas. I don’t know why they didn’t release it in first because I really like it in the first episode.

  4. Do you have the YT link? Thanks.

I can add it later when I get home.

  5. Sadly, there is only cut of the scene for now 🙁

  6. The OST piece noted above as “3. Untitled, unreleased song A” has lyrics that bring to mind the imagery in the drama of tree branches like fingers reaching toward the moon.

English version of the lyrics is how they appeared in the subtitles on Viki in ep. 6 (starting at time marker 37:05). The first half of the song also appears in ep. 5 (starting at time marker 15:45). In both instances, as the song plays as soundtrack, scenes switch back and forth between HW and SW.

The ep. 5 use of this song starts with HW taking his leave of SW outside her basement flat. He’d come to collect AI JiSoo from her. They have a nice conversation which includes news that AI JiSoo has agreed to talk with HW; HW agrees to SW’s request that she call him in the middle of the night when she can’t sleep. We see her make that call later, and him smile as he answers her call.

The ep. 6 use of this song starts after SW, having been rejected as sound engineer by Depressed Piano Guy, says to herself, “I need some powerful healing.” She goes to the empty house HW uses as an office, steps inside the gate, then leaves. We see her visiting the significant overpass. We see HW sitting in front of his laptop at his company, but his attention is on an open window with the breeze blowing in. SW descends the stairs of the significant overpass, and finds HW waiting for her there on the landing. After gazing at each other, they depart the bridge together.

Although the lyrics of this song start off sounding like they refer to Ji Soo and HW’s (and SW’s) feelings toward her, most of the song can be applied to HW’s and SW’s growing connection (and should be, based on the scenes with which the song is played).

  7. @Packmule3, there’s another scene with the moon in ep. 2 (time marker 9:20). HW is sitting on the floor of his empty house, and looks out the window to see a half moon. He’s just been remembering the trip to Misiryeong with Ji Soo, when she told him she’s getting married. I imagine the symbolism is that he’s half, not whole, with Ji Soo removed from his life.

The full moon picture on HW’s phone screen (seen in ep. 6 at time marker 8:40) I wrote about in the thread entitled “The Moon.”

  8. Thanks, Sayaris! I updated the post to include this song. I was wondering why his voice sounded familiar. lol. He also did a song for “Goblin.”

  9. My fave is Rain or Shine by Elaine.

But the lyrics is more for SW right? I think of it as Jisoo’s song though. Maybe I’m wrong.

  10. Thanks, @welmaris, I updated the OST list to include the lyrics you shared here. 🙂

  11. I’m loving this OST now. 🥰

  12. What about the opening song? I know it isn’t long, but I love those few moments in the beginning.

  13. If you can find it on YT, please post here. I’ll put it on the blog. Thanks!

  14. Hi, I am looking for a song in ep.2 (starting at time maker 49:22), when Jisoo left the studio and decided to go to Norway. Do you know what is that song?
    Thank you.

  15. Hi @Jenny. I had a listen and I can’t find the name of the song on Google. However I do think it’s sung by the same artist as the one who sang the OST Slowly Fall (Ha Hyun Sang)? The voice of the man singing sounds similar? He may have composed it or sung it and just never released it as part of the song list for APOYM? Musically it actually sounds like the OST? The lyrics are different though? I am no expert but that’s what it sounded like to me. 🙂
