I expected that OkNam or any of his wardrobe assistants would be scrambling to clean up The King! But I suppose, most were banned that night entering his chambers.
Re the epic fight scene – such fluid movements! The King sure knows his sword & LMH has mastered the stance which would make his fighting scenes be poetry in motion.
The bedroom kiss/es Soft, gentle yet hot & sensual. It is actually the gentlest I have seen from him. I think what made it really work is that it hinted so much more and left more to the imagination. The zooming out camera work was good! LMH’s character had the “Game Over Kiss”, the “lobster” kiss, I forgot what the kiss in Heirs was called. So far most refer to this as the “neck kiss” altho am not sure if that will stick haha

I believe this drama for me was s classic case of a slow starter steadily becoming an obsession🤔🤔 I too feel it’s the 2 weeks since it started..I think that’s a true test of a drama hooking its viewers. For all the brickbats that this initially got, I think it has finally got its rhythm nicely. I’m just hoping the KES manages to wrap up all things neatly to our satisfaction in the remaining 4 episodes.
I believe they are still filming, as no site has yet reported the usual shooting wrapup party yet, and the director was just changed.

Party time. 🥂 I ditched my serial killer date. Too intense for me. Going stag. With my girlfriends. Whew…Temperature’s a bit on the high side on Shallow Island. Perfect for a night dip in Liquid Lust Lake. ((Gasp)) That kiss… no wonder my Insta feed filled up with multiples of the same kiss. Unbreakable Sword, you’re such a tease showing us that scar. LG in Dark Knight mode. Still looks like he walked out of a magazine cover. How DOES he do it? Nary a lock of hair out of place after a full gallop on Lady Maximus brandishing his sword and fighting off 10 men without breaking a sweat. And then to have the composure to even banter with his Queen whilst she lies in bed after battle. 😍 Didn’t he plant a sweet kiss on her forehead after? I liked that one.

About the director, I think someone on one of the other threads (can’t remember who) mentioned that they aďded a new director from episode 9 or 10 onwards because of the low ratings and pacing issues that this drama faced initially. I have to say that paid off because the last 3 episodes have been much more tightly woven and the pace has picked up too.

– He was bad ass and still looked so royal while fighting with a sword.
– He run to TE and hugged her so tight.
– He carried her when she fainted and still carried her when they got to the palace.
– He placed her in his chamber, not a guest bedroom.
– He waited for hours while the doctor and HCL Noh tended to her.
– He didn’t even bother to wash/change because he was so worried for her.
– He looked at her tenderly while she was resting. When she opened her eyes LG was the first thing she saw.
– They had a cute talk about how she looked like a pretty bandaid.
– He kissed her forehead. 😍
– He cooked her a sumptuous meal in his navy uniform. Yummy! 🥰
– He said all the things he knew of her and how great she was especially when she became a warrior during her kidnapping.
– He brought her clothes and it came with a pretty plum blossom necklace.
– He took her to see Eun-sop at the hospital, even brought him cake and even opened the hospital door for him.
– He reassured TE that if the world closes, he’ll open another just so they can be together. (Did I just made this up?)
– He scolds her for asking about alcohol when she’s supposed to be taking antibiotics.
– He didn’t want to look at her open shoulder because he respects her.
– He kissed her neck and really that’s the real beheading he’s talking about.
– Lastly, he kisses her all the way because it’s his way of saying how much he missed her all those times they were apart.
– He really did what he said about being scandalous next time. A true King!

Thank youu for all these swoony scenes! I don’t know how many times I have watched number 3. and number 7. I mean that line , ‘Protect her. She’s the future queen of the Kingdom of Corea’. That is like the epitome of romanticism, and chivalry if I may say. I don’t think any other dialogue can top this one, from a male lead I mean. Lee Gon, the slow mo shot of the camera, his voice over anything else, came out of no where, he really did come like a savior lol. And how many times have it happened already that she called him and he responded. I really like the camera play of these particular scenes, like from the end of episode 11 and episode 12, rescue Tae Eul scene. I think the new director has been doing his magic quite well. I wish he was there from episode 1, may be it would have worked better.
But anyway, I think I am gonna watch episode 11 and episode 12 for some lee gon swooniness.

@Arihsi I zoomed in on the Instagram photo. I cannot make out the drawings. When I zoomed on LMH, I see that there’s some strange makeup in his hair. I’m not sure if that’s meant to be a head wound or something scarier.

@adgr3 no, I can’t make out what’s in the drawings even after much zooming. They look like cartoons indicating what’s going on with the characters. Is this how he prefers it? I’d never be able to emote like that. I’m a very text, text and more text person.
@GB Yes exactly. The yellow orangey stuff near his forehead hairline. The same stuff is on the top of his head as if it continues there. I’d think the scars would be CGI but sometimes CGI needs a starting point or a reference space in addition to make-up for flawless transition.

I am late to the beheading but bringing various bottled teas with post-its on them.
I love the vulnerability TE displays to LG when her guard is down. I think her relationships with men in general (her father, her co workers) are not of the romantic sort so she is used to kidding around, pushing buttons and acting sometimes as mother hen and most times one of the boys. With LG she cries freely and allows herself to be cradled by a man she loves (although yes she did fall in love pretty quick).
The beheading was made 10x more titillating by TE’s reaction. Remember in the start of the scene she was totally egging him on with that shoulder checking. KGE’s acting is so so good you can see the exact OMG moment when her eyes flutter and she realizes it’s going to be scandalous time 😈. I watched just TE on those gifs (thank you) and her reactions go from surprise to shy to active participant. Thank you TE for being a strong woman even in the bedroom.
Oh and props to the director for the LG jawline perfect angle.
I am all here for these giffs. That neck kiss was the highlight of this romance (insert heart eyes). And not mad WDH has not achieve that level of stardom yet; aesthetically, he is by far my favorite in the show, and I love both his roles too.
Those drawings in front of LMH in the instagram photo are probably his copy of the production storyboard. It makes sense that actors receive copies of the storyboard (which can look similar to manhwa/manga) so they anticipate the scene blocking before filming starts. It saves a lot of time if actors have this prior knowledge. Can you imagine how much longer filming would take if at the beginning of every scene the director had to tell everyone, you go here, you go there, then you go over here while… On the storyboards, characters’ positions and motions are mapped out in relation to each other, the pacing of the dialogue, and the camera. Storyboards are drawn from the perspective of the camera.
Thanks @Welmaris, that makes sense with the storyboard and it does make it easier for the actors to go to every scene because they’ve got a picture of what’s supposed to happen.

Anyway, just finished with ep. 13 and again, LG being all respectful to TE’s dad, even bowing to him (JY would probably get a heart attack if he sees his king doing this to a mere commoner!) when she introduced him as her boyfriend pinched my heart in all the right places.
@Phoenix We shouldn’t forget though that ep. 13 seemed to be the day after the beheading kiss. When LG said that TE should go to bed first and not wait for him had me thinking out loud “okaaayyy, she doesn’t care anymore about any scandalous thoughts from the royal court! LMAO”.

Then I pretended to demo on one of the kids. Them being boys, and loving these bloodthirsty scenes, thought it was cool. 😂 If they knew what it actually referred to… 🙊

I was laughing out loud during the Ep. 13 scene where LG was with JY in the BBQ chicken place and was asking how he was. LG had the same look of concern and JY had the same facial expression as the ep. 7 when LG and TE met again in ROK with JY in tow. 😆
Ah true, @kdramakat, Lord Xiao Nai was a one man show. He did it all by himself. He had good support though so hopefully JY won’t disappoint him too much. 😊
