Hi All, here are my notes on the episodes and kisses. It’s hard to do actual count so I just noted if it’s a series of kisses (kiss bundle!). Ep25 has the most!
Ep21: kiss = 2; KTV kiss and at school grounds. In the main novel, these are the only 2 kisses. The original only had 1 and Gu Man had to edit the last chapter to add the other kiss since the KTV kiss seemed abrupt.
Ep22: kiss = 1 boat “refuel” stop. Ep22 to 32 are all part of the novel epilogue so we have a long ending. One thing that was changed in the drama was the way they let the parents know they were dating. I like it better in the drama! Sneaky and mischievous couple learning from each other.
Ep23 – kiss = 1 mask kiss as they say goodbye at the airport. LDR begins.
“Would you allow my genes to influence yours?”
Ep24 – kiss = car kiss when JJ did a quick promo break in Sh in between filming. Paparazzi started following them.
*Ep25 – ep with the most kisses!!! kiss = 1 goodnight kiss on JJ’s cheek as she sleeps over YT’s place. After the her promo gig, they went home. 1 series of kisses at the door; 1 series “I-can’t-wait-anymore”: 1 series on the bed as they measure the pillow height.
Ep26 – 1 series of kisses – YT earns an hour after setting up WiFi signal booster at the desert film location of JJ. Beautifully shot kiss! I always love their reunion embraces as they greet each other – JJ jumping into his arms excitedly and YT cradling her head gently. They do this many times, too!
Ep 27 – 1 forehead kiss as YT bids her goodbye at the desert. 1 forehead kiss to welcome her home. YT covers her eyes as she naughtily eyed him getting undressed. 1 series of pajama kisses. Another “I don’t want to nag you” kiss. 1 – JJ kisses YT on the cheek as he goes to work. JJ shows off the best gift ever, her hi-tech closet made by YT!
Ep28 – 2 months of being together. “We don’t have time to fight at night”! 1 kiss before meeting up to introduce JJ to his office mates. 1 kiss on temple as YT wakes up and leaves the bed. 1 kiss after setting up telescope.
Ep29 – no kiss but one of my favorites! smart JJ, she will always choose YT even if she is famous or not (showing off acting skills at friend’s house). JJ at YT’s basketball game interspersed with clips from their HS game and how JJ giddily cheered for him then and now. Haha, YT’s marriage proposal. But JJ gets it.
Ep30 – wedding episode! kiss – 2 while negotiating the weight of wedding dress! 1 series during the wedding/“rehearsal “. lots of embraces here. after confirming what kind of wedding does JJ want, YT did his proposal again, with teary eyes. (note: this was not in the novel epilogue).
Yu Tu: We have known each other for 16 years, but because of my own preconceptions we’ve missed out on 13 years. You said that you do not regret, but I am really regretting. Thank goodness we still have many years to come. Please give all your future time to me. I’ll use all my heart, all my might to be a good husband.
JJ: good. I will be, too.
Ep31: kisses – 1 series with cue “are there security cameras?” at the space station. I love the matching pajamas.
Ep32 – no kiss here but hugs full of pride for a dream come true!!!

My short comment on the kiss scene in Ep 21:
Yang Yang (or Yu Tu) has absolutely no business kneeling before a lady.
I was holding my breath in excitement, thinking he was about to propose to her in front of everybody!
This reminded me of the bleacher moment in LoveO2O when Xiao Nai crossed the basketball court and knelt before Weiwei.

Here’s the kiss for this episode.
She said she forgave him. He smiled.
He thanked her then said, “Let’s go.”
The guys called him back but the girls had a radar for this sort of thing.
Jingjing’s girl friends knew that something romantic was about to come down so they shushed the clueless guys.
As for Jingjing, she knew that all eyes were on them so she told Yu Tu to take a seat. Her words made it a moment of truth for him. It was do or die time for Yu Tu.
If he backed down, then he was indicating two things:
one, that he wanted to hide their feelings for each other from the rest of the world because he wasn’t ready to go public with their relationship, and
two, that Jingjing was right when she said that she loved him more than he did.
So, he kissed her.
And we all cheered for the couple.

My interpretation was he’s finally being impulsive for once in his life after hearing her thoughts on liking someone and also he did that in front of everyone to put an end to the HS gossip about him rejecting her. Love reading your two points, makes a lot of sense.
My poor boy YT…the minute he realized he liked her, he was already thinking of forever. If only she could see how dejected he looked when he heard the poor wives tales thinking she’d end up like that if they were together. Some of my favorite moments were what led up to the karaoke kiss after she told him she didn’t agree to be with him just yet. I felt sorry for him and wanted his suffering to end, but at the same time loved every minute of seeing him anxious and miserable. Too bad it only lasted like one day.

I think that he was correct to be concerned that his job didn’t fit with hers and that she would suffer, but she was correct, too, to question his commitment since he had rejected her previously. The kiss in the karaoke solved many problems at once.
Also in the same way that Xiao Nai fell for Wei Wei’s skills and online persona first, Jing Jing fell for Yu Tu’s abilities and confidence since high school. When her manager’s husband said that his wife was around handsome men all of the time, I thought, that’s the same for JJ. She had experienced a handsome and rich boyfriend and his personality didn’t capture her. It was Yu Tu’s dream that was important to her, not his look. (Although his looks didn’t hurt. She was even able to tease him about his looks.)
Wanted to write this on the other really long thread but I think it suits here better? One little request, to add YT to the best boyfriend/husband (that I’m not sure since he is so busy he doesn’t not have time to spend with her but still…)…and JJ to best girlfriend/wife list. Or if there is even one, best couple??

This guy is ‘sacrificial’ and responsible, or too responsible? but not the noble idiocy sort. He did not want to start the r/s because he was afraid he can’t give her what she wants, especially time. I mean he travelled 3hrs on top of the 12hours he spends with JJ, to teach her to play the game, and he does not complain, does not give any excuses, and does not tell her to show off what he does. Only when she found out what he did for her, that she realised how much he has done for her behind the scene. This adds to the admiration she has for YT and what he has given up or done for her.
I love that he goes all out for her, travelling to the desert to spend that 2-3 hours with her.
In one of their interviews, YY mentioned that the 180degree change in YT was impressive or something like that. He was no longer hesitant but he really did what he could to love her, things that was not like him previously. Love changed him? I felt in his second proposal to her, he said he regretted that he wasted the 10 years and he wanted to make it up to her. I love that he pursues, doesn’t give up and is very considerate of her. I was so moved by that scene when he drove 200km to ask her about the wedding plans.
JJ, as best girlfriend for being such a supportive partner. She saw what YT had, admired and supported him with little complaints. I just finished the last episode and I realised that despite not being able to spend much time with him at the launch center, she knew how to spend her time well and helped the rest of the people to be occupied while their partners are busy. She is not petty, she respects him (yet does not put him on the pedestal), she is not flashy or proud because she has fame and money.

After I watched “You are My Hero” (Sandra Ma and Bai Jing Ting), I started looking for something similar where the focus is just the couple and how they grow and mature individually and together without a toxic love triangle or some sinister villain or some edgy/angsty plot lines. And then we have “You are My Glory” and it’s glorious! Everything I was looking for and more. Doesn’t hurt that YangYang is the ML, too. 😉
@PM3 – Since I’m still on YAMG hangover, i rewatched Love O2O and started reading BoD related posts from 2019. Ah, too bad I have not discovered your blog back then. Trying not to binge-read.
Hello! Thank you @Packmule3 for this appreciation post abt YAMG! I must say, so depressed as I was bc of the plot development of HP2, I happened to stumble upon some threads abt YAMG here on BOD and seeing so many positive comments I decided to give it a try. And THANK YOU ALL so much for this recommendation! I binge watched it and loved it so much! I got so hoooked that I totally forgot to watch ep 10 of HP2 with subtitles, and tomorrow it’s time for penultimate episode. But after all the mind games of HP, YAMG is such a nice charming and feel good drama, with only the right portion af angst and so much sweetness and growth for both ML and FL.
At first it was really difficult for me to follow the game, bc I’m totally unfamiliar with this type of online games but after rewatching a few times… and then I also saw some insightful explanations as to Yutu-jade rabbit and the line You are the rabbit that has seen the most stars made so much sense! Sorry for my rant, I should probably write this comment in the general thread abt this drama. But to conclude – and all those sweet kisses and chemistry!

I want to binge-watch this, too, but I’ve been saving it as a “palate cleanser” for next week HP2 finale. And good riddance, too. What a yucky drama it’s turned out to be ever since the writer and director decided to pander to their lowest common denominator. The romance was dumbed down for tweens — or am I insulting the emotional intelligence of 8 to 12 years old? 😂 Any smart 12-year old could tell that Jang is a poseur… kinda like Uriah Heep in “David Copperfield.”
@Packmule3 yesss! YAMG was a very much needed detox after the continued bitternes of HP2. So light and fun, without any pretense of trying to sell an unbelievable relationship, although the premise itself is a romance between an aerospace engineer and a film star, how unbelievable, but at the same time how cool is that! And even here, what a nice consistency – he is fascinated by the universe and galaxies and she is a STAR. I just love it.

I like that role reversal between the male and female leads. (wait. I’m only commenting on Eps 21 and below, okay? In fact, I haven’t finished Ep 21 so I don’t know what will happened in the future.)
When she bought the expensive bottle of wine to redeem his pride in front of his former classmates — I was applauding her. It’s just what a chaebol guy would do for a poor girl so why not the reverse?
When she selected him as replacement for her teammate in that exhibition round, and he stood up — it was a reverse Cinderella. Typically, it’s the girl who gets the spotlight because Prince Charming picks her out in the crowd. I like that JJ had the “power” to do that.
I’m sick and tired of that pouty-faced Jang trying to gain our sympathies because she’s deficient in empathy gene, overworked as a resident, and experienced hardship as a daughter of a wife-beater. It’s crass of ShinLee to use the battered-woman plot like that. It reeks of desperation, too, for validation of the WGer fiasco.

Yay! Happy belated birthday Yangyang! The hot search yesterday I think was that he is 30 but like 20 years old.
YAMGS is getting me interested in their dramas, so I am checking out Dilraba on this drama called The Long Ballad where she is Nominated as Best Actress in 2021 Seoul International Drama and the drama itself nominated as Excellent TV Series. Seems like it is a controversial show but I have yet to read up more on it.
I’ve watched it @grace and I did enjoy it except there’s only implied kiss scenes. 😁 I watched it for Zhao Lusi. But Dilraba and Leo Wu was a good match as well.
It’s quite long at 49 episodes but the story is solid.
@Grace, I saw Dilraba for the first time in ‘She Was Pretty’ Chinese version. I liked her better than the FL in the Korean version, but I didn’t like the ML as much. I thought she was the big talent in the show, along with Vin Zhang who plays sort of an office prankster and talent.

I’m gonna watch it for Zhao Lusi too since she is in the next drama that Yangyang is in, “Who Rules The World”.
I liked The Long Ballad even though they added tons of animation, because the story was originally a manga. Leo’s a lot younger than Reba, and people were speculating that he had a no kissing clause in his contract that’s why we didn’t get any. It’s one of those female warrior Chinese historicals which I like and the story is not bad. She is strong-willed, but sometimes too impulsive, but he respects her and treats her like an equal. It’s mostly a growth journey for her. Zhou Lusi also had a nice growth development and her second couple story was cute too.
@packmule3, I had a look at the trailer. I can’t picture him as a typical ML and it’s 40 episodes. Hmmmm. I think I’ll wait for YY.
Did any of you watch Arsenal Military Academy? I know @agdr03 did. It’s from a couple of years ago. The trailer looks good, with Xu Kai as the ML.

he’s definitely a great boyfriend, but is there a girlfriend award for jingjing?? I thought she was so smart, receptive, assertive, self assured, honest, mischievous, determined…everything. If I use the question, would I (or either of my daughters) want to date/marry him for best boyfriend award qualification, then I think I should use ‘would I mind my daughter being like her?’
Usually I would say fame would be a mark against her but the fact that she still remains “good” in the midst of her fame and popularity surprisingly gets her bonus points from me.
I agree with you, @birdie007. She’s such a good match for him. So if I had sons, I would ask, would she be a good girlfriend? My answer: yes. She looks past her current fame to working towards a future with YT. I especially liked how she handled the topic of fleeting fame, losing fame and the sort of roles she would select in the future. It seemed very mature and wise.
We kind of focus more on the male side on our discussions but I totally agree @Birdie and @Fern – I would vote for JJ as best GF too! Very down to earth despite the trappings of fame and fortune. Fun, loving, mischievous and insightful, she has a good moral/human compass. And it’s great that she is surrounded by good people, too like her manager and assistant… and YT!
And thus the best couple? 😀 I’m sure this couple would grow old together really well since their channels of communication is really clear (they do not seem to hide difficult issues from each other) and the level of understanding and respect they have for each other is all time high.
^^^^i meant to add that that’s the question I would use for the best girlfriend award.
And Janey, I, too, usually focus on the males and I think that’s why I’m so struck by her.
For me going into the show —to 1. be pretty negative/neutral towards the actress Dilraba/reba and 2. usually more male focused— I’m still surprised how much I was captivated by JJ
