This is very retro, but somehow NJH reminds me of young Jimmy Stewart in the sense that he is good looking, but can also look pathetic and slow on the uptake; in some photos debonair, in others goofy.

I like that she smiles as she kisses him. She smiles in between too!!! Sweet.
I like how the Korean word for mistake sounds like the English word, Kiss.
“Chis-eu” sounds like “kiss-eu”
I love how she kissed him. She’s the “dominant” one.
But the way the cousin’s face suddenly interrupted the kissing scene scared me.
She looked a witch, a shaman. hahaha.
FL sure has nice skin, even without makeup she looks good. What great PPL for skin care.
I like that Taemu made sure to ask that their meeting/kiss won’t be a mistake as well. And he warned her that if she continues to come to him, he’ll never let her go. 🥰 I liked that dialogue. It’s to make her know that he’s in it for real and he’s serious.

He wants to know if they’re on the same wavelength, and not taking advantage of the situation.

Funny parallel…. HR cannot pick up TM’s calls and SH will not take Cousin’s calls.
Right, Fern? I like how they’re different from the 2nd couple.
Perhaps the point here was to show the degree of maturity of couples in a relationship.
At the outer circle: we have Minwoo and GF. They’re both cheaters. GF cheated him for real. Minwoo is an EMOTIONAL cheater. He strays mentally.
Then there’s the lust-y couple They’re always getting into arguments because they fell for the physical aspect (note how she always says he’s cute). They don’t really connect with each other.
Then there’s the “pure” couple who fell for each other’s good character. From the start, Taemoo admired, not her physical beauty (e.g., Samantha and Rachel) but her qualities as Hari and Geumhui. And I talked about this. I said the reason he couldn’t see that they were the same person was because he had identified the ladies by a certain trait/quality/characteristic that he liked. And he simply couldn’t connect the two ladies because they were different traits.

There seems to be a repeating of the phrase that rich people are people too. HR says it and Grandfather did too. So this give hope that chaebols will accept a common person like HR.
And there’s the mature couple as well – the office co-workers. I think they are very amusing.

I saw the bts for this scene with the dialogue of ‘your cheating because you made my heart skipped a beat because your so cute’. AHS couldn’t handle the dialogue he went up and was laughing 😂.
They both did really well. 👏🏻
As regards acceptance, perhaps HR’s family will be harder to convince than Grandfather.

Did you notice that when Taemoo called up Hari in the morning for the breakfast date, the Archaeopteryx was being very gentlemanly, too?
Previously, it would appear as soon as the phone buzzes. But this time, it politely waited until Hari answered and opened the phone. It only popped up then.
And it showed up with a heart. hahaha.
And I like how candid he was.
Hari: Hello?
TM: Hey, you’re up. Did you sleep well?
I like his manners. He likes to do the niceties first on the phone, e.g., greet each other, ask about each other.
Hari: Yes. How about you?
TM: No.
Hari: Why not?
TM: Because I missed you.
This sounds cheesy, but he’s actually being honest. He’s speaking his mind, without filters.
I think that’s how the actor AHS described his character in the drama. That he’s a pure soul.
Snack shop work-date – I like how TM perked up when she said he was her boyfriend at last. The first time she did not conceal/hide him.
The previous and this episode and the next she hid him over and over again. Poor TM.

I’ve been finding that the make up for cheeks has changed and it’s obvious in this show. HR’s cheeks are redder than what I’d expect and in the front rather than on the sides.

About the honest conversations: I’ve liked how when she no longer needs to lie, HR has been honest and very natural with TM too. I also like the way TM does not mince his words. He states his intentions clearly from the beginning.
That kiss in the cheek made Taemu happy. I liked how it was shot. He was worried about her but she said she had the best morning of her life. That’s heart fluttering there for Taemu. 🥰

Now we see the dynamics of the senior couple, and the run to the male washroom to hide LOL.
Yes, @agdr03. It’s kinda oily, slick, if he meant it insincerely.
But Taemoo’s character is meant to be “pure of heart” when it comes to love. So he says what’s in his mind without intending to flatter her.
It’s like that scene in Episode 1. When he whispered to her ear that he was person who’s good at everything.
Hari got spooked, and thought he was seducing her and being lascivious. She pushed him away and almost fell down the stairs. He grabbed her to save her, then asked what she was thinking. She was the one with the lewd thoughts, not him. He was NOT talking about his super abilities in bed.
All he meant was that he treated women well.
So same here, I think Taemoo is just telling her straight that he misses her, he cooks well. He only looks/sounds like he’s seductive because of the way he says it.
His voice is low and serious = sounds seductive.
His face is focused on her and serious = looks seductive.
hahaha. But if he spoke in a high voice and he looked like a clown, he wouldn’t be attractive at all.
This Show is filled with women who are more assertive than their men, overall.
Teamleader Yeo plays the man’s role in pursuing Gye Bin/Kevin
HR played the role of crazy woman in their first date and kissed TM first.
YS also kissed SH first.
HR’s mother is obviously the head of the household

I like how Taemoo noticed her unmatched pair of shoes and took it as a sign of her eagerness to meet him. I get that he’s still looking for confirmation of her feelings for him.
I also like the way he teased her about her earrings. That’s a nice way to insert a product placement without being obvious. I bet the earrings are from Swarovski. Hahaha. The writer was very very subtle.

Me too @pkml3. I was just waiting for the senior couple reveal and to see the parallel with HR and TM. Of course the senior couple would highlight all the pitfalls of colleagues being in a couple relationship, plus when 1 is in a position of authority over the other.
It’s great that Show keeps exchanging the positions by the gender. Since it is TM, the guy, who’s the boss in 1 relationship, then it’s Yeo, the lady, who’s the boss in the other relationship.
Same thing too with SH and YS, the reverse gender and trope thingy.

I disliked the guys’ lip colour too. Not only TM, but more than once the bright pinky-red on Sung Hoon and even HR’s brother. So weird.
Me too! Why can’t they have just a light colour lipstick to just add a tiny colour? It’s really grabbing attention.
At the team dinner, we get full blown show off drinking culture on display. I don’t even know what the objective of all that showmanship is. More to entertain and drinking is just the cherry on top?
The kiss was sweet, @agdr03. (The sound effects? It was a “chup” sound of a kiss. Hahaha.)

It was a kiss to compensate for his disappointment. She knew she was letting him down by not spending more time with him.

Isn’t that great? Words that they previously couldn’t imagine saying to anybody because they might be thought of as cheesy and weird, they’re now free to say to each other.
I know it’s been said already that KSJ looks like a few Hollywood actresses but for me, she looks like Keira Knightley especially with her tooth slightly overlapping at the front. ☺️
It’s cute-funny that Cousin Jo is often made to be part of the animated Korean characters or English acronyms. She’s embedded in the swear words and exclamations LOL. Her whole entitled life is just that. 😂

I don’t know if Taemoo actually told his Secretary to say that it came from him, i.e., THE boyfriend. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the Secretary assumed that Taemoo wanted it signed as coming from “the boyfriend.”

There are so many traits/attitudes of YS that I don’t like. She leaps to the worst of conclusions without listening first or finding out, and continually assumes herself in the right while blaming others.
I can’t stand that SH is being a doormat again.
She does not care to find out the special relationship that SH has with TM or appreciate his position as secretary. As it is he is treated relatively well and is less a servant than many other (often female) secretaries who are treated like minions.
We should make a list of Kim SeJeong’s lookalike.

I don’t know what’s the mood in Korean entertainment nowadays, but I’m sensing that the overuse of Konglish in everyday conversation has come under close scrutiny, and is being made fun off. This drama is parodying the upper class’ habit of dropping English words to show off their wealth and and education status. The variety show I’m watching 2D1N had a segment about English words, too.
TM is so pleased that HR says she wants to be loved by the person whom TM loves the most. His heart flutters and he has to pause before he joins the gang. He also can’t resist holding her hand under the table now.
Then we find that there are 2 couples at the same table who are hiding their relationships with the very drunk Hye Ji revealing their secret liaisons over and over LOL.
There should have been an archaeopteryx sound when Taemu came at the interview with the way he looked at Minwoo. 😁

Yeonseo and SH’s scenes grate on me. They’re like those annoying couples who do PDA.
Yeonseo is different from Hari. Hari likes to give Taemoo the benefit of the doubt. Yeonsoo? She’s quick to misunderstand SH.
As for SH? What’s wrong with him?
I’ve always found the puppy-eyed look cute on guys, but after seeing this actor do it so many times, they’re just as annoying as Kim Seonho’s dimples.
It’s a one-trick pony: this puppy-eyed look.
And at other times, when this actor does it, he looks either cross-eyed or near-sighted.
I wish he’d stop this mannerism after this drama.

Ah Yeonseo. We don’t like her but I think the author doesn’t think as badly about her as we do. I think her character is there to provide contrast and a different set of behaviours from Ha-ri. I do think that Tae mu would have been bored by her.

It reminded me of prom dates when the guy goes to your house and faces your parents, and pesky siblings on his own. I always felt sorry for the guy because he must be feeling nervous too to meet her family — and it’s just for prom.

I love the swing kiss moment, too. For several reasons. What are your reasons, @agdr03?
I used a van for my first driving test which I failed. 😁 But when passed, I drove Toyota tarago’s for awhile. I liked it too. ☺️
My reasons are:
– they reaffirmed themselves that they definitely like each other, they want to say that they’re each other’s boyfriend/girlfriend.
– they missed each other, hence Hari closed her eyes when Taemu’s face was close. She wanted a kiss.
– Taemu was still a gentleman asking to do something if he can.
– I liked that he teased her about her closing her eyes.
– that pull on the swing. I like it rather than an arm pull then kiss.
– I liked that she pulled him for another kiss.
– it’s sweet and tender.
This is the kiss exam. Love it! 😂
I like the swing kiss because:
a. it came after they communicated and resolved an issue.
b. it started with him teasing her. He really intended to kiss her when he stood up but he delayed the moment to tease her.

Hari: What?
See? There he goes again. He asks permission like in an old-style courtship.
He stands up and leans in. She naturally closes her eyes, expecting a kiss. But he doesn’t kiss so she opens an eye.
This reminds me of the time he told her that he was good at a lot of things, and she thought he was being lewd.

Yes. I like that they talked about the “boyfriend” issue first. Coming to an understanding or an agreement before the kiss makes the kiss meaningful.
I’d rather have that Yeonsoo and SH’s kiss in the forest after the hike. That was trashy to me. Nothing was resolved but she was already horny for a steamy night because he looked cute.
And I like that he was a gentleman but wasn’t a doormat like SH. He still liked to tease and play jokes on her.
Then, the pull on the swing? yes. She was cute because her instinct is to push away from him. (That’s why she almost fell on the stairs in Episode 1, and why they both tumbled to the ground in Episode 2)
When she’s upset, she pushes him away. That’s her habit.
And this time, he caught her again.

4. I liked how taemoo didn’t lie and say “it’s fine. You have nothing to worry about” when HaRi was asking about the grandfather. He acknowledged it was a hurdle and reassured her he would wait until she was ready.

I don’t think the second meeting at the elevator was accidental. He must have wanted to see her because of the letter of apology.
But since he learned that Hari and her coworkers were going to dinner to cheer up, he decided to invite himself along.
And just like that, he had another chance to date her in the open. It’s just like the snackbar date. He made the date happen when he asked her out in front of the reporter as a reward for winning MVP.
Taemoo is opportunistic…in a good way. He exploits the circumstances and makes their dates happen whenever he sees the chance.

I really like how consistent the comedy is in this drama. I don’t like when shows start out light and funny then take a deep dive into unrelieved pathos or emotional tragedy. I don’t mind a blend, but it must be somewhat consistent for me to believe it. This seems to be a true comedy and I was completely ready for that.
For someone whose never had a relationship and is learning then he’s grades are very good. 😁

I know Taemoo’s a great chef, and he’s great at their breakfast date, but he’s not a dab hand at grilling beef.
I don’t think he has much experience at grilling beef in a barbecue restaurant because he doesn’t go on company parties like this.

I really like Kim Sejeong’s way of showing emotion. She seems to have a natural flare for making the right facial expression in almost every scene and in a very natural way. I imagine that she is somewhat like that in RL. AHS is responding well to her cues, too. I wasn’t sure if I would like them together in the first ep.

In the continuation of the scene in episode to, Mrs Seo (and Mr Gye) are VERY quick to let Grandfather know that they were along with HR and TM at a business meal with the result that Grandfather seems mollified and there is no immediate scene.

from what I gathered in one of his interview, AHS intentionally didn’t want to be too close and too friendly with KSJ in the beginning of the filming so his awkwardness and natural reticence would show in his acting.
But KSJ was too friendly so it was hard for him to resist. When you watch the earlier interviews, he was rather stiff compared to KSJ’s bouncy self.
So, it seems to me that the awkwardness in Episode 1 was deliberate on his part. He wanted to look self-conscious and uncomfortable.
Maybe a few times now. ☺️

Same here, @Fern. From the preview, I thought they were locking themselves in a bathroom to have a necking session (hahaha. I don’t get why people think that having a sexual interlude in a public bathrooms and airplane bathrooms are a good idea. All the germs!) and I was worried.
But as it turned out, he was just joking. And this time, she didn’t bite. That’s why she smacked lightly and told him to get serious now.
And then, they talked about his grandpa.
So they were on the same wavelength. For me when couples can share inside jokes or they can understand each other’s sense of humor, then they’ve bonded.
The holding hands under the table was funny too.

Got home at 11am, cooked lunch then cleaned the house. After that I had a nap and woke up to cook dinner then went to stations of the cross. When I got home I did my nightly prayers too before the rewatch. 😂 After the rewatch was done, I just brushed my teeth and I was asleep soon after. 😉
It was hectic but it was worth it because of HaTae. 🥰
@agdr03, now I know you really would beat me hollow in terms of stamina!!! LOL. I’d be quite dead by 3pm. 😵💫 😵 😩
As it was I was dropping at 7pm onwards already. My only excuse is that I’m up usually around 5.30am, and I was moving furniture for my catechetical ‘work’ the whole morning and had to make a long drive in the afternoon. I can’t say I had that much other work the rest of the day. You’re amazing!! 👍 🤩 😄
Oh geez, moving furniture is heavy work, that takes toll @GB. I’d be like you as well.
I usually wake up at 6am but my sleep time is mostly 12am already which is not good. When I get really tired then I definitely go in earlier. 😁
