  1. @Viva and @Packmule3, since this rewatch is set in the middle of the night for my time zone (and @Janey’s, as well), is it bad form for me to watch and comment before I go to sleep, which will be several hours before you start? Would you prefer I wait until I wake Friday morning, which will be several hours after you’ve finished?

  2. Go ahead, @Welmaris. Either way works.

But if you post your comments before you go to sleep, I suggest, that you break them up per scene (no, I don’t consider it as spamming the blog, lol) so it’s easier to react to your posts. 🙂

  3. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Thanks @pkml3.

Yes, @Welmaris, post any time. No such thing as spoilers here as it’s a rewatch. First time watcher just have to be aware!!!

  4. Agree! Yes @Welmaris, please feel free to post whenever suits 🙂

  5. See you later Ladies! ☺️

  6. Grandfather knows it is inappropriate for a business owner to be out late and alone with an employee. For the sake of his company, he has a right to be concerned. About the reputation of his grandson, whom he raised, he also has a reason to be concerned. That he cut off TaeMoo’s explanation and asked HaRi to explain is out of line. It shows his bias, his leaning toward blaming her.

  7. As always, wanting to see TaeMoo marry and continue the family line, Grandfather confronts TaeMoo with the rumors of him seeing someone. He doesn’t like TaeMoo keeping it a secret from him. “Are you worried I won’t approve? Don’t you know me? I approved of Geum-hui because you said you liked her.” These words imply that as long as TaeMoo approves, so will Grandpa. But are there limits to Grandfather’s tolerance? We shall see…

  8. I like how TaeMoo doesn’t lie to his grandfather. He faces him directly, looks him in the eye, and respectfully says, “I’ll introduce her to you soon. So please trust me and wait just a bit longer.” This is part of TaeMoo’s charm, that he loves his grandfather and shows honor to his elder.

  9. Brother wants to hang out with his friends, especially since a girl he’s attracted to will be there, but he hasn’t any money; when he asks his mother to give him some, her response is to strike him and say he’s been spending too much lately. In my opinion, he should be receiving wages for the work he’s doing at the restaurant, even if it is a family business.

  10. Cockroach? I’m not sure one of those floppy slippers would stun it, much less squash it.

  11. HaRi and Young Seo are playing a “dumpling” game with words and gestures as they walk on the street. They spy TaeMoo and Sung Hoon across the street, just as those two are playing rock, paper, scissors to determine who will drive the car. The parallel, I assume, shows the two sets of friends are comparable in level of companionship.

  12. Young Seo makes everything about her, which I find annoying. She wants Sung Hoon to focus on her to the detriment of his employment and longstanding relationships. Despite their misunderstanding stemming from TaeMoo’s blind date, Sung Hoon readily acknowledges Young Seo as his girlfriend when she unexpectedly shows up at the orphanage.

Young Seo and Sung Hoon learn of each other’s past difficulties and weaknesses. In the list Young Seo ticks off, she admits she’s incurred 20 million won (about $16,000 USD) in debt setting up her household. To me that’s a red flag in a potential marriage partner: not knowing how to live within one’s means and blithely accumulating a large debt. She also reveals that after her parents’ divorce, her mother moved to Germany and they fell out of touch. That’s another red flag to me: the emotions from a foundational relationship going sour should be worked through, as they will affect new relationships.

Again, Young Seo places blame rather than accepting responsibility for her own actions. She chased after Sung Hoo and ended up at the orphanage uninvited, but she dares to say “…making me meet your mother looking like this” while motioning with her casual jacket. She wishes he’d formally introduced her to his mother, which is exactly what he tried to do the day before, but she blew apart the meeting by bringing her cousin, uninvited, then storming out when she learned of the blind date. In her defense, Sung Hoo should have given her forewarning about meeting his mother at the restaurant.

  13. HaRi has a roundabout way of telling TaeMoo that she reciprocates his feelings. Knowing that he likes to tease, I can understand why she hesitates to admit she was afraid of his going on a blind date. If she openly admits she ran to him to stop him, she’d never hear the end of it. Despite her indirectness, TaeMoo hears the message he wanted to hear from HaRi: she accepts his affection. I love the way he draws her into a hug and rests his chin on her head. She is enveloped.

When TaeMoo says he wants to tell the whole world that HaRi is his girlfriend, she gets to the core of the issue, “It’s because you feel bad about lying to your grandfather, right?” TaeMoo makes it clear that the timing of the revelation to his grandfather will be a mutual decision between him and HaRi. Relationship gold!

  14. The basketball game shows us that TaeMoo, Sung Hoo, HaRi, and Young Seo can have lighthearted fun, setting aside their business personas. I would’ve called Young Seo on traveling and unnecessary roughness, but whatever… It’s more evidence of her self-centeredness. Rules? I don’t need no rules!

  15. HaRi learns that her brother, Ha Min, stole money out of the family restaurant’s till. TaeMoo, Young Seo, and Sung Hoo accompany her to the restaurant to deal with the problem. Even after seeing the incriminating security video, what most catches TaeMoo’s attention are photos of HaRi as a child with her family. TaeMoo does not seem concerned that his potential brother-in-law is a thief; I believe that is because he trusts HaRi and her family to deal with him. He probably also knows that it isn’t uncommon for young men to make wrong decisions and behave badly as part of their growing-up process. Is Ha Min’s theft excusable? No. Should it color the rest of his life if he repents and learns from his mistake? No.

  16. The decision to open the family restaurant to accommodate the hiking club is mutually made by HaRi and TaeMoo. They communicate wordlessly, HaRi checking with TaeMoo for his agreement or negation. He agrees. I like their teamwork, and their friends’ as well.

We get product placement for Goobne along with the intimacy of HaRi feeding TaeMoo (and wiping crumbs from the corner of his mouth). I haven’t been so titillated by someone eating chicken since Lee Gon took a bite of a chicken leg in The King: Eternal Monarch (that juicy string…!).

The women’s hiking club leaves Goobne. “What are you doing. You’re drunk.” And with those words I need to sign off for now. It’s 2am Pacific Time and I’ve consumed half a bottle of chardonnay while working on this. (Not my favorite, but they’re left over from several bottles my hubby bought for a family gathering.) I need to hit the sack before I type gibberish.

Enjoy your rewatch. I’ll be back after catching some ZZZs.

  17. I’m here, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. 🙂

  18. Hello! 🙂

  19. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks @Welmaris. I read everything you commented on. Sweet Dreams!!

    Hi @Viva and @pkml3.

I’m too full at the moment to eat dinner. I may skip it or bring in something small to much while were at it during the rewatch.

    3 minutes to go!!!

  20. @Viva

Please do the honors of calling “Start!” when it’s time. 🙂

  21. I’m here!

  22. Exciting!

@pm3 what an honour! Yes will do! Have you had a chance to get a coffee?

    @GB 1 min to go!

  23. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @agdr03! So good to have you with us.

  24. OK let’s start! 🙂

  25. Yey! Let’s go!

@GB, I wouldn’t miss my second fave OTP of all time. 😉

  26. Yes. It’s very exciting, @Viva.

@GB, I always feel sorry for the people “down under” because they can’t join our rewatches because of the time difference so I give @agdr03 and @nrllee — and now @Viva — a break whenever I can.

  27. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Yay!!! Starting now.

After the company dinner they are about to finally have some couple time and THEN!!!

Grandpa does not let TM protect Ha Ri. She can’t lie and unlike when she’s Geum Hui, she can’t come up with something to say that might satisfy Grandpa.

  28. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

That’s true @agdr, this OTP is so very likable.

LOL the false laughter. I laugh along because it was so intentional and so fake.

  29. Hey agdr03!

I think the rumour is true lollol. He is wearing a wig.

  30. Thank you Queen. 🙇🏻‍♀️

Rewatched is a part of my life now. Thanks to great kdramas and cdramas. ☺️

  31. I agree, @Welmaris.

The grandfather knows for sure this “couple” outing wouldn’t look good.

I wondered what the company policy was on dating. In the last episode, Taemoo showed interest upon learning that Hari’s coworkers were dating.

  32. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Great idea @pkml3. Early time slots for rewatches for some of us are OK too.

  33. @Viva, I’m not fussed about the wig. it’s the eyebrows that’s so real though. 😂

I like this Grandpa actor though. 😁

  34. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

The Yeong Soo cockroach scene. I roll my eyes at her and how she’s so needy.

  35. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

The wig was in reference to Grandpa? Yes… the actor really is wearing a wig. He’s done so for decades and he looks very good in it.

  36. Weird comment here…

The winged eyebrows of the grandfather bothered me, just like Ahn HyoSeop’s eyebrows bugged me in “Lovers of the Red Sky” when he was playing Mawang and Haram.

I’m glad he trimmed those brows for this drama.

  37. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

YS shows her lack of trust in her bf by following him like this. I find so little to like about her. Oh dear.

  38. Thanks @pm3! 🙂 Timing difference is always a little tricky! We are in the “future”

I also have a problem with cockroach. It is an irrational fear. In theory, I am much bigger so I shouldn’t fear them. But really I have no time for YS. Her jealousy to TM is hard to understand.

  39. True. I don’t like eyebrows being combed upwards too.

But I’m surrounded by boys who have thick eyebrows thanks to their dad. In fact, I’m jealous. 😂

  40. Taemoo is caught between a rock and a hard place.

If he defends Hari vocally, his Grandpa will think he’s suspicious. But if he doesn’t defend Hari, his Grandpa will continue to think that Hari’s suspicious and grill her. 🙂

  41. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Viva, the main thing I don’t like about this show is that it continually gives YS a pass in everything where she was in the wrong and should have been called out on it. Why should the blind date have been SH’s fault and why should he apologise for being a good personal assistant/secretary who did what he was told?

  42. Haha yes Grandpa does have that dragon like eye brows.

TM is at his best when he does that light smile, without showing his teeth.

  43. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

LOL @agdr, you want thick eyebrows? So that we don’t have to use the eyebrow pencil? LOL. I think the opposite will be a hassle ie plucking out all those hairs.

  44. I didn’t like that they followed like that. They could have just called out and I’m sure the boys would gladly get them to join.

  45. True, @Welmaris.

Often, it’s not the lie itself that offends. But the motivation for the lie.

Grandpa believes that he and Taemoo have a special relationship, and he prides himself in being open-minded.

But as we know now, it’s always easier said than done. 🙂

  46. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@pkml3 Yes, all TM can do is wait for a chance to come clean with Grandpa … as usual the timing will be off and in the mean time everyone will be ‘against’ the dating of a chaebol with a normal person/boss with employee.

  47. @GB yes totally agree. TM was honest and told cousin that he wasn’t interested without using any false identity. It’s hard for me to connect to her.

  48. I think trimming is easier because if you don’t have a good hand your eyebrows can be long and winded 😂

But the boy’s eyebrows are fine. It’s got a good line and it’s defined.

Mine is not even half of theirs. 😂

  49. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Ah the nice hug of assurance in the face of a difficult situation. *Sigh*

  50. Ahhh, yes that hug is lovely. TM is so keen to show off their relationship. TM said to HR when you are ready…and does that smile again.

  51. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

The neighbour who called HR was the man who delivered the gas?

LOL they thought they only had 1 hungry person to feed. Then the whole troupe troops in.

  52. @agdr03,

You should be glad that your boys have thick DARK eyebrows. It’s trickier for blondes to darken their brows. When not done properly, the arched eyebrows give them “mean eyes.”

I don’t believe that the coworker is wearing a wig, though.

  53. Taemoo waiting to tell Grandpa until Hari is ready is 💯 handsome points.

    There’s his reassurance for her.

  54. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Fortunately the guys have experience in waiting tables.

YS as usual jumps to the wrong conclusion about TM (about both TM and SH), thinking that TM made SH work in New York. She has never been shown how wrong she is and will still keep making these sort of mistakes.

  55. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

What’s this business of YS thinking she can ask for a bribe? I just don’t get it and why does she always get her way?

  56. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Poor TM… he never got to eat at all. He goes up to change and never gets to go back down to eat.

I feel it would have been better if they’d just come clean with Mum and Dad, but of course that would have truncated the series.

  57. Oh the mean eyes look. 😬 I can imagine it. No, I am glad that the boys have nice thick eyebrows.

Oh which one of the coworkers is wearing a wig?

  58. I know right. Not pushy despite how much he wants to go public.

He is totally OK to serve chicken to hungry hikers. No job is too low for him. The boys just take their jackets off and get ready.

Why YS is blaming TM again? Sigh.

  59. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Was it the jumper with Lostmgmt/Lostmemt? Cities Club with 3 bears that made HR laugh at TM after he changed?

  60. That scene when grandpa was telling off Taemoo for not going on a blind date with the English speaking cousin —

I didn’t know that the grandpa was that short compared to Taemoo. Ahn Hyo Seop is tall but he needs to have a better posture.

On a different note, I agree with Welmaris. Hari’s parents really should pay their son more, and I dislike the mother for hitting everybody like that. What’s wrong with her?

  61. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

The Mum’s frequently resorting to violence is overplayed for laughs but fails with international audiences.

  62. @agdr03,

Sometimes, I give Taemoo handsome points just for being tall. 🙂 Like this scene when he and Sec. Cha were doing kai-bai-bo.

Their height difference is so visible. It doesn’t really matter if he loses at the childish game because his height says he isn’t child. 🙂

  63. yes the mother keeps hitting her children throughout. We keep seeing that until the very last episode. Very uncomfortable to watch.

  64. I agree with AHS’s posture. He’s be way taller if he’d straighten himself.

I liked it when Taemoo teased Hari about watching him change 😂

  65. Yes @GB, TM apologised. Why YS is being bratty again? At first I thought TM bribed her with money.

  66. @agdr03 did you watch the BTS for this? I thought AHS’s adlib was quite funny. He even said “I am good at everything” again. The director must cut out a lot.

  67. Yeah, Mom hitting almost all the time wasn’t funny at all.

    The children are all adults.

  68. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Viva I also thought TM bribed YS with money.

Ha Min is almost as tall as TM

Loved the Female Archaeopteryx sound when HR gives Ha Min the eye LOL.

  69. Agree, @Welmaris.

Youngseo is too quick to think badly of her boyfriend SungHoo. She doesn’t give him the benefit of the doubt.

Unlike Hari. I thought for sure she was going to go ballistic when Taemoo left her at the side of the road when it was raining. But she somehow sensed that Taemoo wasn’t the type to do that to her without a reason.

Meanwhile, YoungSeo saw her boyfriend out with Taemoo and the first thing that entered her mind was he wasn’t concerned about their break-up.

She has so many red flags, this Young Seo. If she were a real person, I consider her a toxic girlfriend: narcissistic.

Also, she isn’t fiscally responsible. That’s a no-no to me, too. Secretary Cha would be nuts to take on her loans.

  70. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@agdr, seems like Liberation Notes also has adult offspring under the thumbs of their parents.

  71. Yes @Viva, I saw it. I thought AHS even said that he’s confused because he doesn’t know whether he’s acting or not about the scene where he said Hari can see him change 😂

  72. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

We see the parallels of violence in the low production value TV show they watch. Parent hits son and son is not allowed to retaliate.

  73. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

What’s with this Min Woo person… he can’t leave HR alone and keeps sucking up to her parents.

  74. Really @GB? I haven’t started any kdrama since BP finished.

I don’t mind Lee Minki at all. I like Kim Woo Bin too but I’m not watching Our Blues as well. 😬

  75. @Viva, I didn’t see the BTS.

Oooh. He said, “I’m good at everything” again? Did he give her that look, too?

hahaha. In one of the games for the kdrama promotion, the girls (was it the YoungSeo actress?) said that the line “I’m good at everything” was the sexiest thing that Taemoo has ever said.

  76. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Yes @Welmaris and @pkml3 I agree about how YS is covered over in red flags and I can’t stand it that she gets away with all her faux pas, her unfair treatment of SH, her dragging HR into all her ill considered schemes, and even blaming TM for the blind date, when she herself did the exact same thing, but worse … with deception involved and not once but several times. I am so turned off by YS, and how everyone unwisely panders to her.

  77. Here you go. 😂 From 1:38 onwards.

    https://youtu.be/dALsE-nDDOk

  78. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks @agdr, that was a cute BTS.

  79. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Ah the yellow umbrella scene and the Melomance theme music.

  80. TM has that puppy look in the wardrobe. Poor guy. I found it really funny when TM said I’ll die. That conversation is very comical. 😂 The very submissive TM is funny. He is all prepared to stay in the wardrobe.

The sound effect works very well too when little bro saw TM, through the car window. Also when TM introduced him as the President of GO food.

TM and his cheesy line again “I don’t mind being blackmailed if I can stay with her forever.” Look at his earnest face!

  81. I like this scene when the brother catches them. 😁

It was funny that he recognised his jumper straight away 😂

  82. @Welmaris,

    This scene at the orphanage.

Youngseo had coffee with the nun and heard about SungHoo’s life from the nun. It would’ve been good had she learned about his childhood from SungHoo himself. But SungHoo let another person do the talking for him because Youngseo wasn’t the easiest person to confide in.

Unlike Taemoo and Hari. Hari heard all about Taemoo’s relationship with Sunghoo from Taemoo himself. In real life, confessions/revelations like this make a couple stronger because they’re giving themselves a chance to open up without fear and to listen without judging. They’re sorting it out themselves.

As opposed to Yeongseo and SungHoo who needs a mediator for their communication.

  83. I love what he said about being blackmailed if he can be with her forever. That was AHS’s adlib, I believe. KSJ and PD was laughing when he changed the script. 🥰

  84. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I love the flower market. Wish we had those kinds of flowers in abundance over here.

HR’s laughing at TM’s earnest cheesy lines. I’d be cringing with an embarrassed smile.

  85. @pm3, no we didn’t get to see his face. He went into the room. He self confidence is so funny to watch. I still remember in ep 1 he was so convinced that he is so good at everything and there is no reason to turn him down.

  86. @GB,

YoungSeo has so many red flags, she could easily represent China in the Olympics.

And you know what bugs me, too? That her boyfriend SungHoo is an enabler. Grrr…

  87. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I like that both HR and TM know how to interpret any strangeness in each other’s behaviour.

TM can tell after a while that HR is protecting him from the trauma of rain. She does not need to tell him.

  88. @agdr03 and his face lit up when he was called brother in law.😂

Good on HR! Not letting little bro to take money! Hari got the archaeopteryx sound effect the second time! Yes being an idol is not easy. Not everyone get to debut after years of training.

  89. @Viva, in real life AHS said that he had to make sure he believes that he is good at everything like Taemoo so it will show in the character. I believe it took a lot from him to take it in like he didn’t believe he was good enough. I like his honesty. ☺️

  90. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

True @pkml3, the most ill-advised couple and played in this show as if what they have is so great. That’s a real pity especially for kids watching this and being led to think their relationship is ok.

  91. That scene in the orphanage when SungHoo wheeled in the computers, and the kids rushed in to greet Taemoo. He patted one child’s hair. I like that he remembered the kids’ names. It means that this isn’t the only time he visited the place.

This reminds me of the scene in “Lovers of the Red Sky.” Ahn Hyo Seop’s character Haram cuddled his son. And his son wanted HIM to tuck him in bed.

Hmmmm…okay. I get that they want to show AHS as child-friendly, and is father-material. Is this built-in in his contract? Like how showing his naked back is built-in his contract? lol.

  92. The archaeopteryx’s sound is making me smile again 😁

Oh that joy when he was called brother in law. 🤩

  93. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Ooh… I just got news that here in Singapore, the group size restrictions have been dropped and everyone can go back to work in the office. I wonder how many people want to go back LOL. I know I don’t.

  94. I’m not sure about showing the naked back contract 😂 but I think it’ll be while till it gets taken off. 😂

  95. @GB We are going back to the office too after 25 April (Anzac public holiday). Our PM just visited your country right? The new rule for entering our office is that we need to do RAT in the morning. So I don’t think I will go in that frequently.

  96. And how’s this for narcissism again?

Youngseo: (talking to SH) You shouldn’t be sorry about not telling me about it sooner, but about making me meet your mother looking like this. (lifting her leather jacket) After our fight, you should have begged me for forgiveness and asked me to come see your mother together. If I dress up, I can look really pretty. But today, look at me.

Ugh!!!! What the heck! I’ve never felt like smacking a second female lead but I do now.

The guy just had his sad childhood story revealed to her and she managed to make it all about her again.

  97. In here, the restriction regarding close contacts is that they don’t need to isolate anymore.

  98. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Heheheh! @agdr @Viva, the whole rigmarole about isolating or not, seeing the doc or not… etc etc… so much confusion. So many guides on what to do for each situation. I’m glad I didn’t have to figure them out and use them. I feel truly blessed!

But now, I don’t want to go back to office! LOL.

  99. In “Lovers of the Red Sky” he also showed his “nekkid” sweaty back. He was doing chin-ups so his back muscles were on displayed.

See that? I’ve excellent memory when needed.

  100. Oh of course you do. I did remember it too, those special events. 😂

  101. @pm3 lol they like to display his back. I noted that no legs in BP.

  102. Actually all of BODS’ best boyfriends are patient with their girlfriends. They were never pushy nor impatient. ☺️

  103. @agdrd03 I finished Start Up and Dosan is so good. The most memorable part is he was prepared to love DM thousand years and ten thousand years despite under the impression she was with someone else. No wonder he was part of the best boyfriends team. Start Up was a good watch! I may need to watch love 020 next.

  104. Aww Taemoo asking Hari if she wanted him to be with her even if it’s late already when she called him after seeing Minwoo.

It’s true though that Hari misses Taemoo and she realised the difference with him and Minwoo. Taemoo’s always been honest with her.

  105. Sigh Minwoo doesn’t know what he wants. Meeting a guy like him is very unfortunate. He seems to be the type of person that keeps doing nice things to keep the girl liking him. Fortunately Hari got over him.

  106. I agree. Start Up is very good. 🥰 Dosan is ❤️

The best boyfriends here have very high standards but it’s the standard of how to best love someone and it doesn’t need to be extravagant. ☺️ Oh well except for Lee Gon because his the King of Corea. 😂

  107. What hug? You mean that hug while they were out taking a walk around the orphanage?

I thought Hari was cute there. Taemoo was teasing her that it was HER fault that he skipped the “date” with YeongSeo’s cousin. Taemoo didn’t want to go on the date because he obviously felt committed to Hari already.

TM: (reminding Hari) Who’s the person who ran over because she was worried I might go on a blind date?
HR: (faking indignation) Worried? There’s no way I was worried. Who, me? That’s because you like me so much. And it’s because you said you’d keep confessing your love to me until I accepted it. “I should be kind and understanding and accept his feelings.” That’s what I thought when I ran there that day.
Taemoo: Is that so? I had no idea. (walking ahead)
Hari: (pouting) Well, at least you know now.

Taemoo realized that Hari was still pouting so he stopped teasing her. He hugged her. He knew that Hari’s pride was worth protecting.

Taemoo: Thank you for accepting my feelings.

Boyfriend points there for knowing when to stop teasing her, and for saying thank you.

This is a far cry from the old Taemoo who expected girls to fall for him all because he had personality, charm, and face.

Hari worried that somebody might see them. Taemoo answered, “Who cares? I’m just hugging my girlfriend. I can’t wait until the entire world knows about us.”

HR: It’s because you’re feeling bad about lying to your grandparent, right? Actually, about that day, I —
Taemoo: (holding her by the shoulders) When you feel ready, let’s tell him.

Another boyfriend points there. He’s going with HER time, not his.

  108. Yeah, at the end he played with Hari’s feelings. Not nice at all and Hari finally realised that when he called Taemoo.

  109. Yes, @Viva. About “Start Up”…

That line about loving Dalmi for ten thousand years was a memorable line.

I’m glad I’m already married. If I were still in my 20s, 30s, I would be judging the romantic things my boyfriend would say to me against the romantic things I’ve heard in kdramas. The poor dude wouldn’t have a chance.

  110. Awww. I really like this hug scene too. The way Taemoo said thank you with a hug. Hari was still protecting him as CEO but Taemoo didn’t care. ☺️ A hug is a hug. It can’t be refused.

  111. Right, @agdr03.

Taemoo is honest with her. Also, Taemoo wouldn’t string her along like Minwoo did. Minwoo used her like a sheet anchor. A spare tire. A back-up plan.

  112. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

LOLOL @pkml3 so true. My dear hubby would never get me near the altar if I’d watched the romance of kdramas. Nowadays, he hopes I’ll watch kdrama romances so that I’ll like his moves LOL.

OK gotta go. Thanks everyone for the fun party. See you all later!

  113. For 7 years! That’s so mean. 😒

  114. Yes the standard is too high the ordinary guy has no chance! I don’t think I met any guy like K drama leads in real life. 😂

Now the text messages between my husband and I are “bread, milk, apples…”

  115. Thanks @GB! 😘

  116. Too funny @Viva! I should show you the same screenshot of my phone to show exactly the same thing from my hubby. 🤣

  117. Catch/Read ya later @GB!

  118. Hahaha.

    Same here, @Viva. Same here.

Hubby and I often text to remind each other whose turn it is to pick the clothes from the dry cleaner.

Sometimes, though, just to tease him when I know he’s on zoom, I send him naughty texts.

Naughty texts = what’s for dinner?

  119. See you later, @GB!

  120. Oh I’m on the best rain date ever! 🥰

Look at Taemoo asking Hari what she’d like to eat. He’s so excited at seeing her and he waited for her too. 🥰

The face change when the rain came. Hari was so prepared. Atta girl! 🙌🏻

  121. I loved how Taemoo trusted Hari that it will be alright as long as he’s with her.

She’s still cheerful despite being so worried for him.

I actually like the subway scene too. He’s the tallest among the passengers. 😂

The other ladies in the train probably had envy the way Taemoo was looking at Hari. 🥰

  122. It was touching HR tried to distract TM. It was very touching when TM noticed HR’s efforts all along. They are a couple who doesn’t brat about the nice things they did for each other.

I thought the kiss was very fitting and natural. It shows a guy so full of love and appreciation of his girl. The acting was very good, as if they are really in love.

TM has another honest conversation with HR. He was prepared to tell her one day, but he couldn’t. She was all worried that exposing his weakness would hurt his feelings. Strong Contrast with the second lead couple.

It was so touching when HR doesn’t need him to repeat what pains him the most.

The background lightings are all hearts. Pretty to look at!

  123. Yeah never thought catching subway can be that romantic – when they were looking at each other.

  124. @Welmaris,

    Regarding the basketball pickup game.

Yes. Youngseo did a flagrant foul.

Hari was so cute when she ran to the hoop — WITHOUT DRIBBLING!! — and shot a basket.

Then, Taemoo and Sunghoo had a one-on-one. I like how Taemoo gave SH a death look, then just spun around for a lay-up.

Youngseo did a basket after that.

Then, it was Sunghoo’s turn. Taemoo was onto him like an Archaeopteryx. And that’s when Youngseo did her flagrant foul.

I like how Hari just stole the ball from Sunghoo’s hand and shot the basket. Sunghoo was just laughing at Hari.

Hari and Taemoo gave each other thumbs’ up.

Meanwhile, Youngseo was tugging at Sunghoo’s sleeve. She’s obviously annoyed that Sunghoo let the other team win.

That’s the story of Youngseo’s life.

  125. It was a perfect date that gave them both the confidence that they chose the right person in each other.

I couldn’t fault it at all. That trust, that care, that love must have been so wonderful to feel. ❤️❤️❤️

AHS and KSJ made it real. It was beautiful.

  126. Ahh true, it didn’t shows TM’s car is dented or hit something in this episode.

OK I am off to bed now. Will read you all tomorrow. 🙂 Thanks so much @pm3 and @agdr03 for having a rewatch at this time so I can join! 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪

  127. Good night @Viva! 😘

It’s a great rewatch with a great episode for our HaTae. 🥰

  128. The scene inside the Goobne restaurant.

Hari was upset about her brother stealing the money from the till.
But Taemoo was preoccupied looking at Hari’s photos that he didn’t even hear Hari about to curse out her brother.

TM: You were cute even when you were young.
Hari: (embarrassed) What are you doing? (putting the pic frames away)
TM: Can you give me a picture of when you were young?

That look on his face! His request sounded sincere because of the way he looked at her: like he was eager to get a picture of her right there and then.

  129. I felt that he wasn’t joking. ☺️ He really wanted a picture of her.

  130. Still on the Goobne restaurant.

It’s no wonder then that in Episode 12, the lead hiker mistook Taemoo as the restaurant owner.

Hari looked at him first and he was the one who spoke for them, “She seems very hungry. Let’s make her some chicken.”

Yes, @Welmaris. This reminds me of the chicken PPL in The King:Eternal Monarch.

And the PPL for Goobne here was well-done. I like how he tasted it and she wiped off the sauce. That’s lip-wiping thing is a trope we see again and again but I like it here.

And Hari didn’t move in closer as if to kiss him as a joke…just like he did at the playground. I thought Hari was going to pay him back for that joke.

  131. Awww Hari’s flowers though. So gorgeous! 😍

The food that their eating looks yummy too. It’s jeon. I’ll have to look it up.

Hari’s worried look when the downpour goes heavy again. I really liked that she tried to shield him from it by moving seats so she’s next to him.

  132. That kiss is on top of my list of sweet kisses ever. 😍

  133. Agree. He wasn’t joking. He really wanted that picture but he made it seem like it would be the BEST present EVER if she gave him a picture.

And I like that about Taemoo. First that hug while they were walking when he thanked her for accepting his feelings.

And then now, when he asked for her childhood photo.

He’s so appreciative about the small banal things.

  134. That chicken feeding/sharing was so natural.

I thought we might have Goobne today but it was too far from where we were in the city do we opted for Incredible Chicken instead. 😁

  135. Yes. Hari’s flowers were so beautiful, and I’m sure they smelled heavenly, too.

I also like what he said earlier that whether she was Geumhui or Hari, she was still the prettiest woman in the world.

So when we apply it to the bouquet, whether it was this arrangement of flowers or something else, it’ll always look gorgeous in her arms because it’s flowers made for her.

  136. I agree. The appreciation for the small things made Taemoo more handsome in my eyes. ☺️

  137. Yup, that she’s the most beautiful woman whether she’s Hari or Geumhui, he said it with conviction too. This guy. 🥰

  138. I like how Hari doesn’t complain that their date gets interrupted by phone calls.

I guess, she was being true to her words. Remember when she was GeumHui, she told the grandpa that she learned not to mind that he was busy with work?

But she did protest however that he was thinking like a food critic and analyzing the jeon like it was work.

    She looked so adorable here.

  139. Do you have Goobne in your area?? I’ve never heard of Goobne before. All I know is “Bonchon.” lol.

By the way, I read somewhere that a famous Philippine chicken place opened in our metropolitan area. Chicken Joy?

  140. True. It won’t change too because she knows that Taemoo has a big responsibility in the company. She’s accepted it fully. But then Taemoo won’t be taking those calls a lot because he’s made her a priority since they began to date. ☺️ He’s true to his words too.

  141. Ya! I’m jealous that you have Jollibee. 🥰😋 Do try their burgers and chicken joy. I’m not sure if you’ll like the spaghetti as it’s sweet.

Actually they said that it will open here too and it’s not far from my area but I’ll take my time in going there when it opens because I know it’ll be packed by many Filipinos. 😁

My son did asked though whether the burger will be the same. ☺️

Yes, we have Goobne here in Sydney but it’s in the city. I live about 40 minutes away from it.

  142. Awww Taemoo wanted to tell Hari about his trauma but Hari didn’t even let him say it. For her she didn’t want him to feel that pain again. That hug said I’m here for you. 🥰

Gosh this couple is really amazing. 😍

  143. Yes. I love that kiss. It was just perfect for the moment.

And I like how it was executed, too. He had to uncross his arms in order to face her and to lean in.

I like that he didn’t raise his hand to hold her cheek steady. That would have been a bit too much.

I like it because of the mixed feelings: it was unexpected because it came out of nowhere. But at the same time, it was to be expected — and just right — that he kissed her because he was moved by her thoughtfulness and protection of him.

  144. Thanks @Viva for noticing the ❤️ lights. I was totally engrossed in the hug that I didn’t see it. ☺️ That was cute.

  145. I’m shaking you, @agdr03. I’m shaking you! Don’t fall in love with a fictional character.

    🙂

Yes. This character is swoon-able like Yang Yang’s Xiao Nai.

I can’t imagine any other actor as Taemoo. Can you? AHS owns this.

  146. On the bts, KSJ said the kiss that’s not on the script was done and she wanted to see how it’ll show. The director said that it needed a kiss. I won’t be surprised if it was discussed by our two leads.

I’ve read a lot of post about it and it was one of the sweetest kiss ever. They’re right. ☺️

  147. Right?

So we got two hugs and one kiss in this episode. None was steamy, torrid and erotic but they were heart-stirring.

Hollywood romcom writers really should take note from this couple.

  148. What lights did @Viva spot? Where?

  149. 😂 No need to shake me. I’m just really happy how Taemoo turned out and 🙌🏻 I felt he’s like Xiao Nai too.

I’ll give AHS an A+100 for owning Kang Taemoo. Is there such a thing? 😂

  150. Gosh, the last movie I watched was Spider-Man. I can’t remember watching any romantic movies at all for a long time now. 😂

  151. It’s from 55:17 onwards. ☺️

    It’s cute.

  152. I’m proud of AHS and Nam Joo Hyuk.

While others were panning their acting, I knew it was just a matter of time before they get a role that suits their persona.

NJH didn’t do anything different from “Start-Up.” He cried there, too and emoted with his eyes just as well. But the @#$@#$ fangirls were all rooting for that Con Good Boy (ha!) that they were blinded from the fact that NJH was a much better actor that their Mr. Dimples.

Back in “Start-Up” they hated NJH’s tears and called him a crybaby. But in “TWenty-five, Twenty-one,” they couldn’t praise NJH’s tears highly enough and they called him sensitive.

    Pffffttt.

  153. Pffffft indeed! I like NJH in 25/21 too. Those tears are hardcore.

He’s still popular though, Mr Dimples. Travels to Thailand and there’s paparazz everywhere and fan girls. 😂

  154. Oh! The heart bokeh lights!

Hahaha. The director and the lights director really were into this drama as much as the viewers. 🙂 We appreciate them, too.

  155. Hear! Hear! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Did you see my email? 😊

  156. No. What email? Did you send me an email just now?

  157. Yes. I sent 2. ☺️ Just check it when you can.

Maybe it went to spam. I abbreviated the title.

  158. Oh this is a good one about the shows favourite lines. 😁

    https://www.instagram.com/reel/CchSLGaAibc/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

  159. You! You made me look!

I didn’t want to check my emails because there’s over a thousand of unread emails. I get ALL the notifications on the blog including the spams, the “to be moderated” mail, and the regular emails from the old posters.

Sometimes, I just click on “read” everything. 🙂

    ****

But that’s great news indeed. “Who Rules the World” will be on Netflix. Maybe my Netflix stocks will go up now…thanks to Yang Yang and Zhao Luci. haha.

  160. Oooopppsss sorry 😜 I believe you when you say there’s thousands of emails in your email box. 😂 Oh I have high hopes in your Netflix stocks. 🤞🏻

There’s over 300 million views on the show so far, so it’s good.

  161. I laughed at the “You know I have no ‘chingu.'” That’s so meme-able. Kinda like that gif of a lady flying in business class, going “Help me, I’m poor.”

Let me post of that lady up in the thread so you’ll see what I mean.

If you see a YT clip of that “You know I’ve no chingu,” please tell me so I can make a gif of that one, too.

  162. 300 million views on WRTW? Are you kidding me?! It just started this week….

Wait a second! What’s the population of China again? I guess I shouldn’t be shocked then.

I’ve to go soon, @agdr03. Thanks for the rewatch and the chitchat. It’s been fun as always.

  163. I laughed too. 😂

I’m trying to find one but it’s the whole scene in the car. 😂

There’s accounts on Instagram with the I have no chingu username.

  164. It’s okay if it’s the scene in the car. As long as it’s shorter than 10 minutes, I think. I’m not a techie…

  165. Bed time too for me. 🙇🏻‍♀️ Kumawo chingu for the rewatch. Till next Friday. 😊

I think 300 million includes overseas viewing. But still I’m happy for the show.

Yang Yang said his initial impression of Lusi is very cute then it became childish afterwards. 😂 But you can tell how much fun they had on set. 😂

  166. Here, check this one. 😃

  167. I don’t know how the rest of you feel about my having started before you, but it worked for me (other than my giving up partway through this episode because late night + wine = sleepiness). When I woke up this morning and read through your comments, I felt I was part of the discussion instead of an eavesdropper. I should try and talk @Janey into joining me next week. She’s also in Pacific Time.

  168. About the employees’ forced laughter at the beginning of the episode: it is annoying to see and hear, but I believe it was an effective way for them to take control of an uncomfortable situation. They force laughter. The others know their laughter is forced. They know the others know their laughter is forced. And everyone politely says nothing. Silence acknowledges that addressing the source of discomfort may unmask a monster. In this case the issue was the bending of hierarchical rules. The employees, under the influence of alcohol, acted too familiarly with their company’s CEO. But I think TaeMoo honestly enjoyed himself when the employees stopped acting so deferential and reserved. His grandfather, Chairman Kang, might not approve, though…

  169. @Welmaris – yes I think the scene by scene comment method works! Yes hopefully Janey can join too next round.
