  1. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks for the thread @pkml3. No time to watch or think about the shows at the moment. 🤪 Will get to them by and by 😃.

  2. Thank you for the thread @Packmule3!

Let us see what it will happen with the Wi-Fi couple!

  3. Thank you, @packmule3.

  4. Oh, the father’s story in Gye Hoon’s family — I wasn’t expecting something so devastating as that. Don’t these parents realise that they are messing each other up so much, but mostly hurting Gye Hoon?

I definitely think we can say that the perception of emotions goes both ways as of this episode.

  5. Episode 9.

What can I say about episode 9? We finally saw how heartbroken GyeHoon really is. I mean seriously, he had regrets of his own, but also the ones his parents were feeling too. His father was absent from home, his mother lost her mental health and no one was there for that little boy.

As for that kiss, I saw the spoiler in the evening and I was happy that happened. It took them only 9 episodes! LOL 😛

Now, we definitely have clues that DH was in the crime scene as well with the Stalker as children. I think from the nightmare she got, she was either lost and then taken with DH. The red door signifies both something hidden, something that has blood in it. A memory she blocked.

Do we have suspects? Yes we have, if you remember in that restaurant the police officers along with some men from the neighbourhood were gathered.

The Stalker met with someone, the audience couldn’t see in the shadows and we get the scene where the taxi driver came first -he was wearing a green leather jacket, then the Police officer that went to the bathroom. The man who didn’t come back was the Truck Driver, that wore a brown jacket.

It could be the taxi driver, but the Stalker was looking at a person in his height and not up ahead. The taxi driver is taller than the Stalker. So, could it be the Truck driver ? I think he could since he was the only one who didn’t return to their company…

    Hmmm…

  6. The first part of this episode was a series of encounters in the dark night.

The Stalker seemed nervous around the man in the shadows. I wonder if he’s getting instructions or pointers from that person? Did the police officer overhear their conversation?

The rookie police officer has serious issues, too. I thought he would be glad to have his father absolved, but he thinks it will make him feel even more guilty about his own father, whom he passes on the street without stopping. And he transfers that guilt to Gye Hoon, just like so many others do. Curiously, his father – the music teacher – doesn’t do that. He feels guilty for leaving Gye Young, but doesn’t transfer the guilt to Gye Hoon.

I hope that the cctv cameras in the area get fixed soon.

  7. There is some point in not dwelling in the past, as the grandmother advises. However, if the past comes back unacknowledged and unresolved, and threatens happiness in the present, it must be addressed.

I like how Dahyun realises that she has represented both Gye Young to Gye Hoon and chef Eun Jeong’s sister to them and how graciously she handles it. She might not be book smart, but she’s very emotionally intelligent.

  8. Kalispera my dear @Fern.

True. Everyone is passes their own guilt to Gye Hoon. The only person who really asked about GH was Da Hyun and that is called empathy.

I think the person who the Stalker is afraid of, is a serial killer and maybe a rapist / pedophile.

The thing is that both the Truck Driver and the Taxi Driver vanished at the same time. I do hope the police office saw who he was talking too.

If GH’s father passed away and the police found out only his wallet, that means the killer killed him as well. I don’t think he just vanished into thin air…

The culprit seems to be a very evil person.

  9. Kalispera, @Cleopatra. The only way GH’s father would still be alive would be if he killed someone he thought was the kidnapper/murderer of Gye Young and then went into hiding, or suffering from the amnesia trope. Both not very likely, so I’m going with your opinion and Gye Hoon’s that he is dead.

  10. @Fern,

Why did the Stalker ask him that question> The man who was next to him told him to ask specifically that. So the culprit knows, because he did something to GH’s father.

    It is the logical answer.

  11. @Cleo, unless it was a bluff. But your opinion is sensible. How cruel.

All of the things that the stalker is revealing are turning out to be true. It seemed that he didn’t want the hidden man to hear his phone call. I wonder if that hidden person is the one who gave him the games console to keep him quiet as a child, then carried on with the blackmail since then?

Wow, what a nice kiss at the end, eh? They both know what each other is thinking now and it’s the same right at that moment. –A good way to end an episode full of angst and anguish.

  12. Hmm…great episode about looking forward and looking back. There are some things you need to just walk away from to live life now. And there are other things you need to face up to so it doesn’t haunt your subconscious (like DH). And how questions are more important than the answers sometimes because DH’s question about how GH was feeling showed she cared.

I was trying really hard to gauge the facial expressions of the truck driver. Because he was the one whose back was facing Stalker in the restaurant. But no joy. It was probably deliberate they didn’t show his face. Everyone else seemed to look up to gaze at Stalker when he came to WonTak’s table. Stalker too took a quick glance at the men at the far end of table but I get the feeling he missed the truck driver’s face because of where he was sitting. Truck driver did seem to see him though? So I get the feeling truck driver could’ve been the man Stalker seemed scared of when he talked on the phone with GH. When Stalker saw the man in the alley, his first words intrigued me. He asked the man, “you still live here? I’m impressed. But do you remember who I am?” So Stalker was aghast that the man had the audacity to hang around the place the crime was committed? Instead of running and hiding somewhere else?

Loved the kiss at the end. 🥰.

We should get some answers by next episode hopefully. We never did learn about what happened to DH’s father? Except the implication that he was potentially abusive as a husband? I wonder if he had anything to do with GY’s disappearance. Hence why grandma and DH’s mother seemed so insistent that DH forget the past so she could be happy.

  13. @nrllee, I’ve been wondering that about DH’s father as well. I said I hoped it wouldn’t be a situation like Healer, where one of the Lead’s fathers seemed to be responsible for a murder and it drove a wedge into the relationship. 😟

  14. Kalimera Ladies!

    @Fern,
I take the logical road, now if the show has nother idea, we will find out!

Yes, the kiss was unexpected. I really liked that DH went back because she felt GH crying and feeling awful. It was like he was holding his breath all this time and when he saw her, he finally took a breath, with that kiss.

    @nrllee,
We didn’t see the face of the Truck Driver at all watching towards the Stalker. They all heard his name though. So, whoever was the man the move he did was bold!
Especially with all those police officers in the venue.

At the same time we were all suspected that the killer was in the neighbourhood after all those years.

@nrllee, I think that your post about that opening credits and specifically the scene with the tower and the two girls, where the first was helping the second to escape is true.

Somehow, GY and DH were in the same scene. DH managed to escape with GY’s help while GH’s sister didn’t. Her mother and grandmother knew about it, but instead of helping the police to find the culprit they didn’t.

Were they relieved that their child went home, while GY didn’t? I think that the younger DH knew what happened, but blocked it somehow. At the same time, the Stalker knows the truth and he didn’t talk as well.

    All those are messed up…

  15. @Cleopatra, it seems like more people have been hurt by lies and omissions over the years than by the actual kidnapping/murder. It has had a ripple effect.

Gye Hoon seems able to confide things to DH now that he didn’t want to articulate before, but she is still not telling him everything that she knows. I think it could be fear, because she can remember some things but not everything, and she doesn’t want to lose him. For example, why doesn’t she say that he might not remember her because she was new to the school. Why not say she was a friends with his sister? Why doesn’t she reveal she remembers him and admits that he was her crush because he showed up when she and GY were in trouble? Why doesn’t she tell him what the stalker whispered to her?

Now she has put the police on the trail of the stalker but later we may find that he is not be the person who is committing the murders, but is an accessory to the other man who is doing it.

  16. @Fern,

You are right with your thoughts. The thing is that DH is an adult who hides inside her a huge trauma that is not explored, but it is under the edges. This trauma has characterize her for all her life.

As another trauma has done the same to GH.

It takes time to open up and talk about your fears. If you remember in the beginning DH was lying to DH all the time and he knew because he felt her feelings. During the passage of time though, she started changing and that is progress.

We cannot expect her to immediately tune up with everything. Even, if she got therapy, her therapist will give her time to realize her feelings and what happened to her.

She doesn’t remember her childhood years, she remembers bits and bytes. Scenes here and there, out of context. So, she is not reliable. That’s why she doesn’t say anything to GH.

Her memory started coming back after the Stalker attacked her. Her supressed memories from her unconscious are coming into her conscious mind and the trigger was her assault.

She tries to understand herself first and the emotions she feels. For 18 years she was listening to her Halmeoni telling her “don’t look back, move forward”. The ones who are in fault here are her family who didn’t talk sooner. They thought she was safe by not remembering.

So, yes people were hurt due to lies or omission of truth and they continue to do so, because that is their way of living their lives. One regret at a time.

  17. Kalo mesimeri, @Cleopatra. Yes, you say this very well. Of course we know this as viewers – that the longer the truth is delayed, the more chaos occurs.

  18. Kalo mesimeri my dear @Fern,

I think that “Link” is one of the best shows of 2022. The themes that explores are not easy to handle. The comedy aspects lightened it a bit, but the struggles remain…

  19. I agree @Cleo. Link has been one of the best dramas so far for me this year. It’s been the one drama I look forward to watching when the eps come out weekly. My interest hasn’t waned. And yes to the themes explored. The drama doesn’t dwell too long on the sadness and the comic elements are tasteful. Like how GH’s friend ended up dancing with the ladies 😂😂😂 and then having to sit through their chatter later as well 😂😂.

  20. Episode 10…

Finally the maknae police officer found out the truth about his dad. I am glad that Gye Hoon was with him and tried to make him see. It is good that they are healing one step at at time…I was also happy that he seeked his ex girlfriend to be comforted. Hmmm…Second chance maybe?

Also, the Wi-Fi couple had wonderful scenes together…🤩
    Their banter is legentary:
“What? What? Your kiss was good. Well done?” LMAO!

From the preview of the next episode:
If DaHyun was not a witness that means the Stalker lured her in that house and she is a victim as well?
In her memory, the kid stalker had the console game in a sealed box in his hand, when he was calling DH. So did he lure GY and DH in that house for the culprit to abuse them or even worse?

From another scene, DH is eavesdropping her mother along with her Halmeoni, talking to someone else, and she confessed she would do it again. She would kill again. Could that be her ex-husband? He is the one missing.

Halmeoni knows the truth but she doesn’t talk.

Also, from revisiting the scene where the Stalker met the culprit, that guy’s hair were not gray, as the Truck Driver’s. It was dark, but the hair could be seen if they were light, his hair were dark.

So, who is the culprit? Are they trolling us or not?

@nrllee, it reminds me last year’s “You are my Spring”, but this one is different in the type of trauma and how young individuals who became adults are dealing with all these…

  21. Thanks for your interpretation of the previewed scenes. The 1st half was largely about love blooming but the last minutes were dark indeed. I’m glad that DH is starting to open up to GH that she remembers his sister, despite the fact that the stalker says it can’t work out between her and GH.

If DH was lured to the house, where was GY? Already there, or did she come to rescue DH?

  22. @Cleo I loved You Are My Spring. I rewatch it on occasions. The depth of that drama and the characters are gold. Back to this drama. As you suggested, Stalker probably played a part in the crime which is probably why he didn’t confess to it as a child and kept it a secret into his adulthood. He may well have lured the girls to the adult. His stalker tendencies could well have begun there. The truck driver giveaway does seem too convenient. So it could be that the perpetrator is someone who has been referred to but has yet to appear in the drama eg DH’s father.

Haven’t had the chance to catch ep10, will do so later today.

  23. @nrllee, if it was DH’s father, then it’s unlikely to be the person who met with the stalker because why would he hang around his old town where he could be recognised by anyone as he was by the stalker? Yet it seems that we’re being set up to believe that DH’s father could be the criminal because of the insistence of her mother, grandmother and stalker that she can never be in a relationship with GH.

There are a growing number of people who say that they were, or may have been, the last to see GY alive. First the piano teacher, then stalker, the fish vendor, now DH?

I’m starting to feel uneasy about this personally because of a case involving two children soon after we moved to England that pierces my heart to this day. But it’s a Kdrama with a rather low age restriction, so I have to hope that it will work out relatively peacefully.

The actor who plays the stalker is good. Also the policeman who explains the evidence about the piano teacher in ep. 10. The actress who plays the grandmother outdoes the mother, imo. Quite a good ensemble cast.

  24. Kalimera Ladies,

I will post a bit later my thoughts!

Here is the latest FMV for our WiFi couple by Ella! Enjoy!

  25. @Cleopatra, Kalimera. Thank you for posting the video by Ella. Lovely!

  26. Kalimera Ladies!

@Fern, I think that Ella is really good in capturing the psyche of some characters!

Regarding your question. GY was taken sometime during afternoon, but DH’s memory is during the night. My guess is that DH has seen GY at some point and the Stalker Lee brought her to the culprit’s lair for some unknown reason yet.

Now, as @nrllee said, we need to revisit the suspects. We either have seen him, but we didn’t pay attention to him or he is not yet showed to us. If we take “Black”‘s narrative, the biggest Meanie was revealed in Episode 14 or 15.

P.S. @Fern you should check the actress who plays Halmeoni. Her cv is impressive ! Check MDL!

  27. @Cleopatra, I’ve seen that actress Ye Su-jeong in a number of dramas in recent years. She can play evil as well as good, and generally plays strong characters.

  28. @Fern,

She is pretty good, I agree. I was impressed that she did a Msc degree in Germany.
German is not an easy language!

  29. @Fern I am sorry this is starting to hit a raw nerve with you. I am also not entirely keen on the paedophilia angle (if that’s where it’s headed 😬). Because it’s KDrama I am thinking it’s more likely GY was killed accidentally. But what I can’t work out is why someone would remain silent about the death of an innocent child? To protect their own living child (DH?). Initially I tossed out the theory that potentially DH’s dad had something to do with GY’s death. Mainly because mom and grandma seemed to imply that he was dead (that they had killed him?). But what if their attempt to kill him back then was the same as that of Stalker? And he’s actually still alive? I am wondering if the house with the red gate was actually DH’s old home? Which is why Grandma had that flashback of herself opening the red gate? Why else would she be there? As for why DH’s dad would be hanging around, it could also be that he hadn’t been hanging around (like Stalker implied). And he only returned recently like Stalker and GH.

  30. @Cleopatra, I struggled with German. French, Spanish, Italian, even some Greek is easier than German for me. Interesting that the FL, Moon Ga Young, was born in Karlsruhe, Germany to South Korean parents. Her family moved back to Korea when she was 10 years old.

  31. @nrllee, no I’m not keen on a paedophilia angle, even if I have to acknowledge that it exists in RL. It’s not the sort of thing I want to explore in depth in a k-drama.

Yes, the dad could have returned, I suppose. I could tell by the handles that the gate was the same, but re-painted, even before they showed the chipped blue paint with red showing through at the end.

  32. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Finally watched these 2 episodes. Oh dear, my heart aches for so many wounded children, for the broken families. What heart-break amidst the warm romance. As usual, Show delivers the great vastly different emotions so well.

We can guess what happened 18 years ago, and it wasn’t pretty at all. Much healing needed all round.

  33. @Fern,

I am not into german as well! 😀
What I have discovered is that MGY has the same bday with me! 🙂

  34. P.S.

@Fern thank you for the video!

  35. @GB Unnie,

I think that when we are going to learn what actually happen it will be pretty emotional for both DH and GH and us…

  36. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Yes, @Cleo,… I need to prepare myself next week. I still have urgent things to do for work, so I’ll probably only check the episodes after you have. Then I’ll have an idea of what you experienced and know what to expect. 😁 😉

  37. @GB Unnie,

No worries. We will be around here talking about it with @Fern and @nrllee!
    I think that Episode 14 will be…😥

  38. I agree, @Cleopatra. It will be 😭 and🥺. I hope not 😱

Are you born in the same year as well? MGY’s English is very good as well. She actually spoke in English to the German man on the chat show as she may have felt slightly more comfortable with that. Well done to her for maintaining the languages for that amount of time.

I wonder what her parents did to be in Karlsruhe when she was born and in Germany for 10 years after that. I am aware that it is known for technology and has a good Tech Institute as well as a University.

  39. @Fern,

No, I am a noona to her. She was pretty good and her accent as perfect as well.
Dunno exactly, but I am happy when you can communicate with another person from another culture. They could be Professors or Scientists!

I agree. It will be a bit shocking and sad at the same time…
