  1. Thank you, @packmule3. I’ll be a day or so before getting to this drama, but look forward to it very much.

  2. Thank you @Packmule3!

This week’s episodes will be intense!

  3. My weekly indulgence. We’re close to the final revelation and I’m excited. 🙂

  4. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Thanks @pkml3!

Episode 11 – Another good one. Progress in many areas.

LOL the saga of the scary fridge. I’ll never look at a big fridge the same way again, but I’m glad it will now bring on a smile. (New mystery… how did he carry that fridge up 3 flights of stairs?)

Lee Jingeun is a sociopath. He enjoys taunting, … poking the wounds of others far too much. Feels no compunction, no shame or guilt.

Given his tendency to be violent towards women, I thought he was a suspect of the killing of that dead girl found in his old apartment. I’m wondering why he’s out and about so freely. Officer Min Jo was suspicious of him, but it looks like she couldn’t get the rest of the police behind her.

I’m so upset with GH’s mother. She will not treasure the child she has, instead she continues to hanker after the family she lost. What a waste of her life and her sanity.

I know for dramatic purposes, the ‘victim’ must go and explore all by herself, at night, a dangerous, lonely place where her greatest horrors lie. But I hate how dumb that makes the victim. Of course she couldn’t wait until day time and go with company. *major eyeroll*

  5. Kalispera!

I just finished episode 11. I am so pissed off at the moment!

So our theory that the Stalker brought to the killer GY and DH was correct! Over that toy! Seriously, the kid is so messed up, no wonder he became a stalker and a possible killer!

Tomorrow, it will be a rollercoaster of emotions, since Da Hyun has survivor guilt and she cannot face Gye Hyun for that reason.

Seriously, we were waiting heartache, I do hope it won’t last.

As it seems, the house belongs to the truck driver? Is he the one responsible for what happened? We shall see…

  6. @GB Unnie,

I agree with what you said about GH’s mother. Instead of cherishing the fact that one of her children is alive and kicking. They have made him a scapegoat and they -his parents, the neighbours, emotionally abuse him accordingly.

Imagine how much grief, guilt and sorrow Gye Hoon feels and for so long…My heart aches for him, because there are cases in the world like this.

  7. Great ep. So our suspicions were founded. And the scene in the opening credits where there were 2 girls with one escaping a tower was a depiction of the reality.

I liked these framed shots by PD

This one when GH was speaking with his mother on his birthday. The caged bird in the foreground. Both are like caged birds, unable to escape from a past that haunts them.

PD followed through with it in this frame as GH exits the building after his meal with his mom

You see him walk from the barred gates foreground out to the open seemingly to escape the suffocating presence of his mother who just lives in the past. And we are hopeful that he’s okay so long as he’s not in her presence…

But PD then shoots this frame again.

Telling us that it’s an illusion. He’s still trapped by his past even when he’s not with his mother. 😢

There are a few items that intrigue me about the house that the girls were lured into.

It looks like there’s a child’s bike there?

It looks like renovations are happening there? Lots of building materials, a circular saw, doors. Is the home being renovated and therefore empty at that time?

Other things that piqued my interest
    1. GY was targeted. Perpetrator chose her.
    2. DH was not supposed to be there. That was LJE’s doing.

I am still trying to figure out a workaround to the paedophilia angle. 😬. Could it be a grudge? That perpetrator never intended to kill GY or “harm” her but just wanted to “scare” her father whom he held a grudge against? But somehow, it went pear shaped and GY died as a result. So he hid the truth by burying her.

The pieces are coming together. But LJE is certainly a twisted individual even as a child.

  8. Kalimera Ladies!

    @nrllee,

You know what is making me sad at the moment?

That the police didn’t find out any lead about it. I mean seriously DH’s mother should talk to them and end it there. Instead, they didn’t say anything at all and that decision they made at the time, prolonged the misery the whole family felt for those years hurting not only GH’s family, but also the piano teacher’s.

They have destroyed their lives and I am not going to be easy on them.

    None of them is innocent.

Halmeoni and DH’s mother tried to protect their child, but they hurt other individuals so bad in the meantime.

They are all guilty and they should apologize humbly and ask for their forgiveness. From Gye Hoon, to the piano teacher and his son.
Lastly to GH’s mother and father, because they are abused their son badly for so many years.

Those people didn’t deserve this at all and Da Hyun is a victim as well…

  9. I agree @Cleo. The truth is what was needed all those years ago. Suppressing it only prolongs the suffering for everyone involved. I am still surprised that they let LJG off so easily? He tried to strangle DH? There were marks on her neck? I don’t know why DH keeps putting herself in danger. 🙄. LJG waltzes into GH’s restaurant? WT just lives upstairs? Couldn’t he have staked out to catch LJG in the act again? DH only lives across the street anyway? If they suspected him of killing that lady in the apartment, surely they could’ve set some sort of trap to catch him in the act?

Despite all these frustrating elements, I am willing to overlook them and still watch enthusiastically.

  10. Melomance’s song is finally out!

  11. @nrllee,

Unfortunately, these things happen even now that we type…
In dramaverse it is more dramatized but still, with no CCTV in the area, it is easier not to find him. Although, in some cases like in Cafe, they are finding everyone super quickly. I guess this is a theme we need to understand.

In this shady neighbourhood, everything stayed the same, there is not change for the better. Mostly because they live in regrets / in fear / in sadness…
They all live in the past.

  12. Kalispera! Episode 12 revealed the culprit and it was the only guy, we didn’t talk about.

Still, from the preview of Episode 13, there seems to be a man who knew that the culprit did to the little girls. Would that be the grey haired man?

Seriously, are they in that neighbourhood so rotten?

  13. Wow great plot twist. Still…there are still some parts which don’t seem to add up.

Why would the fishmonger deny to LJG that it was him who killed GY? Was he being metaphorical? It was obvious enough? He was the man who asked LJG (child) to lure GY to the property being renovated? Or at least it looked like the property was being renovated. Most killers would admit to it in that circumstance? There was no point in denying it because he was planning to kill LJG anyway? I find it hard to believe that a man wouldn’t be able to chase down DH and just decided to take the wounded GY. Was fishmonger just part of the story?

    Dialogue between LJG and fishmonger
LJG – about EGY…it was you.
Fishmonger – who said that? It wasn’t me.
LJG – alright then. Let’s say it wasn’t you. So just let me go! It’s not like you can do anything to me. Isn’t that right? You don’t want to leave incriminating evidence by doing this!
Fishmonger – that’s true. You’re right. Objectively speaking, you’re completely right. But the problem is, my instincts tell me otherwise.
LJG (laughing) – good judgement should come before your instincts. That’s why we’re called “civilized”.
Fishmonger – I agree with you. That’s how I’ve been lying low all this time.
    LJG – right?
Fishmonger- but for how long? How long should I have to keep that up?
LJG – one day you’ll cave into your instincts. But I’m certain that’s not today.

DH’s mum told her she was divorced when they first arrived at the township/suburb. Did her dad find them? Was he the one who asked fishmonger to do it in the first place? DH’s mom thought dad was there to abduct DH and therefore killed him? Or did she kill him before they moved and the “divorce” story was just a lie? GY’s body may have been found by the new owner of the house (truck driver) and therefore he decided to bury her instead of reporting it to the police? Because he got scared?

That fridge and LJG are “fated”. 😬

  14. Kalimera @nrllee!

I think you are right. A killer should boast in front of a stalker since they are both sociopaths. If the fishmonger didn’t confess, then maybe his plan was not to hurt the little girls. That means someone else did the deed.

Still, we have 4 episodes left and I bet that when the whole story comes out, we will see that everyone in the neighbourhood was involved in the incident.

  15. I’m finally getting around to last week’s episodes. Speaking as a practical person, I keep wondering, as @nrllee did, why DH and GY keep going to dodgy places either on their own or with LJG. GY needs to change the code on the restaurant door to something that’s not his birthday (common sense) because LJG figured it out and others could too. Of course, lack of communication is the worst error…

The attack on GY by the stalker’s associate is parallel to the attack on DH by the stalker. Time to watch some more.
