No one can question her life of service, dedication and loyalty alright. I won’t forget her.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was one of a kind. Throughout her life she served and was an example of sacrifice through some of the worst times in recent history. When one considers that she became the Monarch in her mid twenties and was the longest serving Monarch in British history, one has to be in awe. And as a woman in a man’s world she overcame the prejudices of the time(even today) to gain the respect of the world. I think that she leaves a gaping hole that will be hard to fill.
Personally, I’ll miss her steady presence and quiet strength even when she went through times of profound grief. May her memory be a blessing.
It feels like the end of an era, now that she’s gone. May the new sovereign work towards greater unity and peace in the country, and for the region.
I recall all mention of her as filled with respect, from my earliest years, and have come to be ‘fond’ of her and several members of her family. I, too, will miss her, somehow.
May she rest in peace and know that she will always be remembered.
Rest In Peace, Queen Elizabeth. She certainly dedicated herself to the service of her people in the UK and the Commonwealth. For sure her record as the longest serving monarch in Britain will stand for many years. Her dignity and grace will always be remembered.
My condolences to her family, her friends, the people of the UK & Commonwealth, and her fans around the world. She will be missed.
My perception of her is that she was an outstanding leader that did her best to steer England, the Commonwealth and the rest of the world for the better (in that order, as it should be). She served her Country right and served steadfastly and selflessly.
Good leaders like her comes once in a blue moon. Leaders that believe themselves to be exceptional only to throw their people under the bus are a dime a dozen.
Will miss her for her dignity.

Dear @GB, have been a little lonely without all of you (and especially you). I still have to finish “Unicorn ni Notte (2022)” about a Virtual University Startup and I am rewatching “Tetsu Ota Michiko, 2 Man Kiro (2022)”. Is about a succesful girl that loves trains and is quite the lovely travelogue in Japan.
I am also enjoying the very silly “Choi Tsuri Dandy (2022)”. It is very bland bland but it is about fishing (sorry!!! 😉 ).
All in all Japanese Dramas, also giving myself time to rewatch “A Place Further than the Universe (2018)” which is an anime about four schoolgirls that achieve the impossible and go with a Scientific expedition to Anctarctica. Believe it or not it is the very best of the bunch.
That said, are there any good Dramas that you could recommend me?. I missed out on “Alchemy of Souls” as Hong sisters since Big produces an outstanding Drama followed by a lackluster one. Since “Hotel del Luna” was well… outstanding… you can fill the blanks 😉 😀 .
Heard the King’s First Speech, @nrllee. I just marvel at the British understatement.
He said this:

He was effusive in his praise for Camilla (e.g., “steadfast devotion to duty”), his heir William (e.g., “proud” to name him PoW), and Catherine, who together with William, will “continue to inspire and lead” national issues.
He even announced their new titles. I’m sure people wanted to know.
Then like an afterthought, he added, “and oh! I almost forgot. I also give my regards… errr….my love? I wish Harry and Meghan well in their new endeavors…pursuits…no…enterprise… undertakings… scratch that… their new life OVERSEAS.”
Lol. The demarcation was clear. But I laughed at the use of “overseas.” He made California sound like some uncharted region in the wilds. 😂
My dear @FGB, what an eclectic list of shows! They are all good, as long as you find joy in them. I’m not sure what to recommend since I’m basically exercising the Joy of Missing Out (JOMO).

Aahhh great @pkml3, thanks. I wanted to listen to him but I was asleep LOL. I just love the British way of glossing over one of the biggest changes ever, and yet giving it due respect. Yes, I wanted to know their new titles, but Harry doesn’t get one.
Well, it was nice of him, or actually ‘politically correctly’ necessary for him to mention Harry and Meghan. By stating ‘overseas’ he was firmly and literally putting them in their ‘place’.
I wish King Charles III all the best. I’m not sure this won’t just be a short tenure before William takes over, but at least for all the years of preparation to take on the throne, Charles does get to sit on it for a while, which is good. Long live the King, indeed!

@packmule3. Yes I do love the British dry wit – none too subtly telling them to err…stay overseas 😂😂😂. Well Meghan got her wish and her children are now Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet 🙄. According to the news (not sure about its accuracy), Harry AND Meghan 😑 (this audacity!) were going to head to Balmoral to see the Queen but Charles put a stop to that with a phone call. Only close immediate family were to be there. Even Catherine stayed with the children to settle them in their new school. Only William hurried to Balmoral. Honestly I wish the Suck-exes would just stay overseas. And not pop back into the UK on a whim for speaking engagements.

No. I didn’t hear about the news that she wanted to accompany Harry to Balmoral. Was that confirmed? But then why should I be shocked? She’s been brazen and narcissistic like that. She outdid the Kardashian sisters in their false sense of self-importance.

@nrllee,Harry has that book coming out. I wonder how that will play out given the passing of Queen Elizabeth. I think that any bombshells he throws will be taken badly. On another note Meghan never got the picture of Lillibet with Queen Elizabeth. She copied Her Majesty’s name but did not get the photograph that she wanted probably, in her mercenary way to sell to the media.. In addition the Suckexes can’t have their cake and eat it. They can’t publicly insult the monarchy and then pretend to be concerned and caring. We know that Meghan is a trained actress who knows very well how to upstage but thankfully she’s been foiled again. At least there will be ten days that she will not be front and center.
@packmule3, I took the reference of ‘overseas’ to be respectful, not a dig, because no one knows where H&M will end up. They were in Canada first, so the USA is already country number 2. Also, I think Charles was indicating that overseas, in a nebulous sense, is where Harry and Meghan will stay. Yes, it was an interesting speech.
@packmule3, that last photo portrait of the Queen was very poignant, I found. The one you posted has been cropped, but the original shows her very dwarfed by the room, looking small and slightly bowed over her walking stick. The back of her hand looks bruised, as though she had hurt it or perhaps had some I.V. medicine applied there. I have the impression that she made a great effort to come there to meet Liz Truss. The photographer may have been asked by staff NOT to do a close-up.
@Fern I was very impressed that the Queen showed up for that photo with Liz Truss. She looked very frail and should’ve been resting in bed. What a trooper she was. Duty above self to the last. An inspiration.

So I stand rebuked. Here I am wanting justice and come uppance for the black sheep. But that pic just highlighted to me extraordinary grace (on the part of the Royal Family) extended to the errant pair. Kindness and forgiveness. They stand united in grief for the dignified Queen. I am thus humbled. 😔. I live in hope that it would change the hearts of the black sheep of the family to move on from their “victim” mentality and halt their badmouthing of “The Firm”.
I’ll second that @nrllee. I read that HRH Prince William was the one who extended that olive branch.
At the end of the day they are family. I hope it is the start of healing for everyone. 🙏🏼
