It’s only Tuesday/Wednesday and here we have our Saturday thread! What fun, thanks to the efficiency and thoughtfulness of @pkml3. Thanks my dear!

I will, of course, be back!

  2. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I admit that I’ve tried (more than twice!!) but failed to fully rewatch Episode 5. For a variety of reasons, I find myself distracted, falling asleep or not too interested in the game of Angels and Demons. Suffice it to say that this is an appropriate precursor to The Final Stage‘s paradise or ‘the other place’ LOL.

    I look forward to @WE and @FF’s take on the game, the rules and the devious players! 🤔 😱 🥱 😪 😵‍💫 🤭 😅

  3. Hi. I liked the next game. But I don’t remember well. The one I like less is the last one, because it looks a bit like the last game of season 1. Also, it’s a complicated one. I had to draw a map of the place to understand what they do and where they go.

  4. Hi hi, I am here. I did a pre-watch because @GB says she kept falling asleep watching ep 5.

  5. @hi feifei

  6. Maybe it’s too late and rewatch time should be one hour before?

  7. Hi WE, shall we start? Where @GB?

  8. I don’t know where is she.
We can start at 35, in one minute.

  9. Hi WE Ok.

  10. Go now.

  11. This episode started without the usual opening credits. The golden tooth guy is so fake, pretending to believe in Nao in supporting her to win the liar game.

  12. So, there are now TWO matches.
    – angel and demon
    – a kind or remake of the two countries
Then after, the final one, garden of Eden.

  13. The flashback is nice.
    Nao talk with gold-teeth.
He looks agree she can win with trust. But it was fake doubt.

  14. This genius lady believes that hypocrisy is built in the human DNA. Was she in the same Genius School as Akiyama? They were in the same photo.

  15. Oh goooosh…. I had forgetten that.
The main thematic of the season.
The villainess don’t trust love or just benevolent acts, and think any decision anyone make is selfish.

  16. And her main motivation is so petty.
    She’s jaleous of Akyama. Aaaah…..
    (maybe hate-love??)

  17. The game area looks like a bowling alley. And we have new players.

  18. The new set. As usual, neons, flashy colors.

and a series of weird new opponents.

  19. Yes, it’s a bowling (but we forget a bit)

MEGA SLOW MOTION with effect, as the girl with the hat enter…. AAAMMMZZZZED nao.

  20. I hope they tell at the end what is her relationship with Akiyama. Akiyama recognizes and remembers her Katsuragi Ryou.

  21. The meeting of AK and Katsugi is so theatrical.

  22. Now the game leader has a name Forli.

  23. I concentrate on the game rules. 😉

  24. They have new effects slow zoom in of Nao’s face and then cut in the rest of the players with fast tempo music.

Akiyama does not seem to like Katsuragi.

  25. I find the games rules are quite simple this round.

  26. This game could end fast with only demons.
    Or maybe also, only anges.

  27. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Hi @FF and @WE. I fell asleep!!

    Where are you at now?

  28. The game will start with 2 demons, as long as they avoid contact with the demons there will always be more angels. The angels can save the demons by sacrificing a cross.

I believe Nao will try to end the game with only angels.

  29. Ok it’s logical.
An angel (with cross) touch a demon.
The demon make this angel becoming demon.
But a cross is spend so the demon become angel.
I don’t remember if loosing the cross is automatic or a choice. Automatic right?

  30. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, in a sense it is fortunate that Nao didn’t manage to get everyone to follow her idea. The show would have been over before it began!

  31. Katsuragi actress was heroin in a US movie. I don’t remember the title. Giant robots fighting monsters from the ocean (from another world).

  32. @GB hahaha, we are at 19:02 there abouts. Shall we wait for you?

  33. Hi GB.

Once again, Nao make excellent complicated calculation, but based on the fact everyone trust everyone.
It’s really interesting, it shows an extreme strategy in the game.

  34. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @FF, no don’t wait. I’ll just jump to that part. I did try to watch it. Managed to watch most of it anyway.

  35. @WE losing a cross seems automatic when an angel with a cross contacts a demon but is selective when the angel turned demon uses it to turn himself back into an angel.

  36. GB do you want a pause, so you can get back the previous content??

  37. @feifei, thanks!! Yes it’s that.

  38. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Katsuragi Ryo (KR) is self-serving and manipulative. I don’t like her intentional smile… so creepy, so hypocritical.

  39. The little sensible and touching music.
    But everytime, it fails!! 😀

  40. @GB, yes!! what make her a niiiiice villain. 🙂

  41. @GB, I wonder what will happen if at the end of the game the whole Liar Game is just a faux?

Nao is so bold now, announcing her strategy out loud to everyone.

  42. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @WE, I think the explanation later by AS was more interesting, however it’s great that Nao could come up with the perfect winning strategy. Just too bad that she couldn’t get her way.

  43. Noa… Close up on HER EYE.
Shit, I’m a demon now. mouwaaha haah ah.

  44. They are all messed up now. Demons everywhere.
If there isn’t 2 angels left, it’s over, HELL.

  45. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, we have to get to the Final Stage to find out what’s true or false. The whole game is of course based on manipulating human beings psychologically.

  46. Momoko… is mémé, I don’t know the english word. ^^

  47. To her horror, Nao is a demon.

  48. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Nao is totally shocked to be a demon… the last thing in the world that she is in real life.

It’s terribly weird if the majority of angels contacted each other. Shock everywhere!!

  49. @WE, momoko?

  50. @GB, as long as I don’t have sex with Nao, I can’t say she’s an angel or a demon. But as a generality… most wonderful women are angel in life and demon in bed. 😀 😀 😀

  51. @feifei, the super weird old lady (red clothes)

  52. @WE …… MOST wonderful women ….. MOST is how many ….

  53. @feifei, sorry, my english suck. T T

  54. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, that’s why they depend on a machine to tell who’s an angel and who’s a demon LOL. No need to go so extreme.

Might “mémé,” mean “even,” or “granny-like”. (mémé, grand-mère, grand-maman, bonne-maman)??

  55. One minute Akiyama’s hair is flip on the left the next second the camera reverses and his hair flips on the right.

  56. Should be, best, better, more?? or another word I don’t remember.

  57. I’ve to go back in the movie.
    I missed some explanations.

  58. @WE, its not about English, haha I am teasing you how many you did. Sorry I digress.

  59. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

AS is always the calmest. He’s quietly got it all figures out.

  60. Akiyama would have suspected that some players are dishonest and lying but he goes along during the rehearsals.

  61. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, yes, AS was not sure what would happen but he figured out what must have happened.

  62. More time now. I don’t get something. Some players were eliminated or not??

  63. Nao go out of the room. Not too much face. But she really should try to get a better poker face.

  64. Only top 4 players will advance to the next stage.

  65. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Katsuragi single-handedly spoiled the chance to enable everyone to win. The game could have been over in 15 – 30 minutes.

If only the 1 real demon had loudly objected that someone was lying about being a demon, they would not have ended up in this predicament.

Somehow KR being a psychologist, based her calculations on the weakness of that player ie that he would be quiet, so that she could execute her plan.

  66. AK: I’m an angel. But the way he says that. I’m not sure.
Anyway… he guess FUKY could be a demon.

  67. The music so soothing when the Angel appears.

  68. FUKU face is so intense… for once, he can’t lies. Ok admit he’s a demon.

  69. There is always this ringing sound in the backgroud.

  70. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Fukunaga still cannot be trusted after he began by trusting Nao. She would have trusted him unreservedly.

  71. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Finally we get a long stretch of silence… no music until Fukunaga admits the truth. Such a pivotal moment. He has to trust them to save him.

  72. Fukunaga admitted that he is the demon but is that the truth?

  73. For the first time no actual game was played in the episode. It is just all intro, explanation and rehearsals.

  74. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, oh dear, it had better be the truth! Maybe just as KR needed 3 of them to work together to deceive everyone and win the first game, AS and Nao and Fukunaga need to be the threesome to work together to bring about Nao’s plan to help all to win.

  75. @feifei… ok so, if some players are out, it means…
… now the ratio demon per people is up. More complicated and more fast for demons to change angels into demons.

  76. The preview to the next episode suggests that they lost. 🙁

  77. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF that makes us want to jump into the next episode to find out what happened in the real meaty part of the game.

  78. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I’d be so paranoid… I’d be checking after every time someone made contact, whether I’m a demon or not.

  79. @GB, I like this game a lot. 😉

  80. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, I really have to rewatch to find out what happened then!!!

  81. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, well it’s a very fast game compared to some of the others. It’s fun when I can stay awake to figure out what’s happening!!!

  82. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

BTW @WE, have you abandoned ‘Bora Deborah’ yet?

  83. @GB I will be paranoid too checking each time I make contact with another person.

@WE I like this game better than last week’s game too.

  84. @GB, I rewatched all the drama x10. But as it’s some years ago, and since then I rewatch some kdrama more than x10, I ended to forget so many points. My memory is bad.

  85. @GB, No, I’ve not dropped BORAH. I should be somewhere in episode 10? I didn’t watched episodes since… huuu… can’t say, days? Weeks? Had a lot of other things to do.

  86. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I find it hard to keep the rules clear in my head. Other than that, I just watch it as it plays out and try to understand the many explanations. Show is generous in making everything graphically clear.

  87. @GB, I find Bora Deborah’s ending a bit flat. I change upon Delightfully Deceitful, I thought it is quite a nice watch. And One Day Off is another that I can watch at a relaxed pace.

  88. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, ‘Bora’ was not all that good in the end. It became a rushed job. Too simple and pat, did not give strongly enough, a better message about relationships. The beginning was fun.

  89. @GB the good thing about Liar Game is that the game strategies are all explained in the episodes. Feels like attending classes.

  90. @feifei, ok you convinced me. I’ve some time and watche the next episode. Or wait.. I could also rewrite ep35 of W season 2. ahahhaaaa. If I can, I go on writing. But try to watch later. ^^

  91. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, yes, I like the game explanations. After last week I was thinking I might be able to play poker LOL.

Yes, ‘Bora’ ended disappointingly. I’m still commenting on ‘One Day Off’. I’m also thinking about ‘Silent’.

  92. @feifei, the screenwriters are kind. Imagine that if it were MOTA. aaaah… You would understand NOTHING. Jdrama do that differently from kdrama.

  93. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, have you watched many jodramas? Do they all give explanations?

  94. @WE when I read about Apple Vision Pro, MOTA came to my mind.

  95. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Actually it occurs to me that Katsuragi Ryo could not have succeeded on her own. She would have to trust 2 others to help her… or pay them, in this case. It was never a game that could be won without trust of some kind, plus lots of lies on the side.

  96. @GB, some Jdramas, lot of mangas and animes. Japs can create very original content (more original than koreans, but without their kind of mastering about production). They are quite brainy and always give lot of explanations about the complicated content they create. Just watch Death Note and Kaiji animes. It’s crazy good. More cerebral content in japanese than koreans. And also, can go totaly crazy concepts. So it’s why I say sometimes, W looks a bit like a japanese drama.

  97. Oh, it’s time to go now.
    I wishes you a good week. 😉

  98. Death Note is good? Maybe I should try it.

  99. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, ah, I see. I maybe find them too crazy and so seldom want to watch those kinds of animes. Usually I find the images rather gothic, dark, demoralising.

  100. Bye @WWE, good night @GB.

  101. @feifei, watch the anime. It’s sooooooooooo good.
You’ll be hooked at the speed of light.

  102. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks and goodbye to both of you! See you next week!
