  1. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks for moving this thread up @pkml3!

  2. Anyone here yet?

  3. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @FF! I’m here! Don’t know why I’m tired and sleepy today but I’m awake.

  4. Hi feifei, my clock have an alarm so I know when to come. 😉

  5. Hi GB

  6. @GB it must be the heat, I am feeling worn too.

  7. Hi WE, shall we start.

  8. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Hi @WE,
I have an alarm for our Rewatch Party too! Ok let’s start!!!

  9. Hey, look at that, a photo-editing I’ve done this morning for the current episode I’m working on:
    https://i.postimg.cc/x1k4jxtr/IMG-34-Mi-Ra-Eyes.jpg

  10. With the resume, we get this mythic “ok ok ok” from fuku! 🙂

  11. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, nice photo… but you only have 1 of the eyes?

  12. Fukunaga is never shy to change sides, he has no shame and dances towards 4-eyes to create 1 more cross for himself.

  13. So there is a betrayal?
    NOOOOOOOOOOOO, the guy is clean.
It was only for the cliffhanger he looked bad.
    LOL

  14. @WE, what are those eyes trying to express? Sadness? Exasperation?

  15. @GB, it’s because the text is “close up on the eyes”. ahaha. Else, I used tons of other photos. I don’t do anymore complicated editing or an image per dialogue line, but I keep using some big images sometimes, it helps for the ambiance.

  16. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I liked the suspense over whether AS was an angel or demon.

Hah! Fuku is so rude to the other 4 crosses people. But Fuku is also out for himself with Nao.

I believe that even here, he was pretending.

  17. AK’s explanation of why he thinks 4-eyes is an angel is so logical, I felt stupid to be caught in the cliffhanger.

  18. @Feifei, a bit that. A bit of sadness, but mostly very beautiful eyes, magnetics.
You’ll know more if you read the drama until episode 34, ahahaha.

  19. I think Fuku likes Nao but his priority is still his own survival in this Liar GaME.

  20. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, you take a lot of time choosing the right photos as well, but it adds more substance to your scripts. I prefer that to just reading words.

I like this scene of Nao deciding that she was right to trust AS. He’s actually nice. He was still a bit taken aback that she actually put it into words.

Contrast Nao with KR (Ryo for short). Also contrast AS with Ryo who smiles so much but is so cold.

  21. A short flashback from the vilain of previous season.
There is a special episode with only him and fukunaga. Difficult to find on internet, but I watched it.

  22. @GB, agree when Nao told AK that she finds him warm he had this taken aback look as if it is the first time someone told him that he is warm.

  23. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

What is this metaphor of Fuku pushing the barrel across the floor? I feel it is supposed to have a meaning. Like he’s deliberately doing something useless?

From him rolling the barrel we come to the people rolling bowling balls. Also useless waiting around when they could help.

  24. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

One would never consider that Nao’s ‘pathetic’ behaviour could be her strength, however AS quietly observes.

I like that later, he incorporates her into the ‘plan’.

I like very much that HERE he stands in between Ryo and Nao who’s on the floor… protecting her. Standing between the devil and her.

  25. So, Ryu can’t trust Nao sincerity, and say she’s hypocritical. Really this girl trust only selfishness in life. I guess she will have to break down at the end??

  26. They really didn’t help and just let the time passes. 4 eyes will be eliminated if he does not get the 4th cross.

  27. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, Ryo only chooses to believe that the source of people’s motives is selfishness.

We see Ryo’s evil here… she aims to destroy Nao so that she can break AS.

  28. Ryo is a psychological pervert!! She want only destroy Nao now. She’s the kind of unealthy people who need to destroy the truth when they can’t bear to be wrong and useless.

  29. Ryo really exudes the evil aura. She wants Nao to be the only loser, so that she can shake AK?

  30. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Contrast again… Nao wants everyone to win, Ryo wants the only person to lose to be Nao.

Here’s where AS does the ‘warm’ thing. He incorporates Nao’s strength of being good, of being pathetic and pleading into his plan. He gives her something to do so that she won’t feel useless. I thought this was very good of him.

  31. The scary scene where Nao chase every of them with her sincerity, until one crack. ahah.

  32. Yup AK is so encouraging to Nao, hahaha he has yet another perfect strategy.

  33. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, so true about the unhealthy people we have now spewing fake news and fals narratives all over.

Even these 2 calling Nao a liar are themselves the liars, but they are lying to themselves. That’s what people nowadays are doing too over so many truths. They don’t face the truth.

This show and game says more about that is true about our world.

  34. @feifei, I don’t think it’s related to AK. Nao is everything she hate because she can’t love like her.

  35. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF Tanimura is quite irritating too, forever judging gleefully that Nao will lose.

Ryo got it wrong… she did not know who’s inside.

Hah! The easy expedient of keeping the rooms inaccessible. So there’s only one way to get them to open the door and come out.

  36. Aaaah, the plot twist of the blocked cabins have another plot-twist, crazy.

  37. @WE, you are so right.

  38. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I feel Ryo’s motive is both that she hates Nao for embodying everything she herself is not, and also because destroying Nao will hurt AS the most.

  39. Fuku with the eye patch, so funny this guy.

  40. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, Hah! I like the Principle of Reciprocity explanation … they began to feel guilt, as if owing a debt, because they had been mean towards Nao.

Now we get a view of the previous villain… he’s going to be back!?! He too has the funny watch so he’s playing this Angels and Demons game somewhere else. But unlike here, he’s the ONLY one with more than 4 crosses. The only winner. Everyone else who was with him, has less.

  41. @GB, mmh, I’m not sure of that. I made a mistake last time, thinking AK beat Ryo when they were students. But it was the opposite.
It’s weird I think that, but maybe I was thinking the story would be better in this way? But the other way is nice too and surprising. And also give the idea of a villain AK could not defeat. AAAH!

  42. @GB, Erin thinks that Nao could win the game.

  43. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Now Nao shows that she too can reason and see the outcome if the enemies figure out who the demon is.

  44. Ryo use the famous technique: “prisoner dilemma”.

  45. @GB Nao has progressed, I have to keep up with her reasoning too.

  46. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Although Ryo beat AS before, she wants to ensure that she beats him again. The best way is to repeat the loss he suffered when his mother was duped, so duping Nao or making her lose is the plan for Ryo.

  47. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, Eri has always been more objective, unlike Tanimura. She sees the strength is Nao that others miss.

Heeheheh! Of course our Fuku will try to get more money. Betrayal is his strong suit. It is also a strength that AS used.

  48. Ryo, is using money to bribe them. She did that at the start of the game to get 2 players to collaborate with her.

Is it Fuku who gave in first?

  49. I don’t think Fuku do a real betrayal. Surely a plan. Fuku is bad but had the proof more than once of Nao power. Just if even he was selfish, he knows he can win with her without be betrayed.

  50. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, yes, Fuku is playing the game according to AS’s plan. We see that with this twist, 3 doors open and so 3 enemies enter the room at the same time. Later AS explains why this was important.

  51. So, people who trust each other and follow the truth can’t be defeated. It was true from the beginning with the duo AK-Nao. And now with Fuku, once he understood that. A great team.

  52. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, Fuku gets more gains by following AS’s plan. He’s 200 million yen richer!!!

Maybe that’s why the other 2 were so upset? So dramatic, they must throw themselves on the floor.

  53. I could say this drama is the battle of God vs Evil. Can be see in a religious way, but also, for people who have no religion, just a psychological evidence. Or spiritual one. About human nature. And if some people think human nature is bad, then they are wrong.

  54. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Nao proves over and over that she’s sincere.

But there is a double-double bribe-threat … Ryo used money and threats more than once to force people to do what she wanted.

  55. @GB the dramatic effects always make me laugh.

  56. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, yes, we’ve noted the religious overtones from the beginning with Nao shown to be an angel.

This show is a psychological study.

The actual angels and demons are humans who choose their motivation for action.

  57. @GB, +often the biblical music with organ. 🙂

  58. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF. Yeah, so much over the top throwing of themselves on the floor and laughing maniacally.

  59. Ryo has so much money to spend bribing the players so often. Yet another twist in the plot.

Whats up with the white hair guy? is he just watching the game?

  60. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, why do you think they choose playground music for Ryo? I’ve been wondering why.

  61. @GB, I don’t know. The piano music is both ridiculeous and mad.
Well, maybe just what she is.

  62. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, white haired guy is Yokoya from last time’s Contraband Game. He’s another of AS’s enemies who destroyed AS’s mother. He’s often the winner too.

He ensured that he was the only winner in his own game of Angels and Demons. I can’t remember if he’ll reappear at the finals or somewhere later.

  63. @feifei, yeah, I don’t remember why we see Okoya here.
I mentionned the additional episode but not sure when it happens.

  64. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, mad sounds right. Mad psychologist music LOL.

  65. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, did you see the thread on Singapore Hawker Markets? Did you add your 2 cents on where to eat in Singapore?

  66. @GB the music for Ryo sounds more like the music associated with amusement parks. Those kind of rides for kiddos. Whenever they do explanations, it is the church organ music…. moment of truth thing.

  67. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, the eyes are Kim Tae Hee’s eyes? They look familiar and I know you like her visuals.

  68. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, yeah organ music does sound like moment of truth… but the crazy amusement park/playground music bugged me because associated with someone evil like Ryo.

  69. @GB, I saw the hawker thread but I didn’t add anything more because I saw the post kind of late and there are already so many comments. Our queen should have more than enough suggestions. I am surprised to see so many from this part of the world as fellow BODers.

  70. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, I believe that a lot of our fellow countrymen/women are lurkers, LOL. There are many in Dramabeans too.

  71. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, now I feel like FFDing to see if Yokoya makes a reappearance anywhere. I really cannot recall.

  72. @WE I started watching Death Note and yes it is good. The animation surprises me and the plot is captivating.

I didn’t know that animation can be this good, it is like watching the real movie.

  73. @GB was Yokoya wearing the funny watch? I missed that.

  74. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, Yes, I rewatched it to make sure that Yokoya was wearing it. I thought at first it was a flashback but seems that it’s another twist that might be added to the series, if he returns.

  75. @GB, ahh, yes, Kim Tae Hee eyes. I choose her as one of the main characters.
You know why quickly in first episode. She’s the beauty incarnate, but also have something arrogant and scornfull on her face. Just what I needed.

@Feifei, I’m happy you like this. Yes, it’s very addicting. 🙂

  76. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

OK friends, I’m off now. Thanks for a great party! See you next week. I hope @pkml3 will move the Ep 8 thread up because it’s getting buried under the Recent Posts. LOL.

But we can find it under Liar Game 2 in the right frame/panel of BOD page.

  77. See you next week! bye.

  78. Bye @WE , by @GB.
