This is my fave scene from the last 2 episodes. I like a guy who knows what can give you comfort and really just basic respect for small people, like me. LOL!

@agdr03, I loved that scene too. It was a simple heart warming gesture, even though they were squabbling 😅. It is like his care for her leaked out with that gesture.

@Cleopatra, Rowoon is growing on me and I feel like his acting skills is improving. I remembered when we first watched him in Extraordinary You, he was still so green. I remembered @pm3 mentioning about a scene where his acting was a bit lacking.

I too, salute him for leaving SF9 to focus on acting. It will be an area he can and should grow. Will hopefully catch up with the show by this weekend!

@Monmor – I think this is a drama that is better if the two weekly episodes are watched as a single set piece. The editing is abrupt only to have the rest of the scene revealed later or the next episode. I thought the Joseon flashback was a bit of a snooze, but I expect it will get more interesting when he either is expected to marry who his Dad selects or goes off to the military. Did I miss how Joseon SY knew HJ could see the future? Is that because she knew about the letter from his mother? As the storyline becomes more serious with the flashbacks, curses, and black magic – I hope the humor isn’t lost.

His parents bickering was super obnoxious – curious where that is leading because no reason to give it so much screen time.

I like the return of the bloody hand. The break up with his ex took way too long
Anyway, what I want to say, I was under the impression Shin-yu was told Hong Jo is the owner of the red hand, and that he killed her in the first episode.
And he never addressed it, acted surprised to feel the bloody hand on the beach when well.. it was to be expected he’d feel that as soon as she touches his face.
I went back to see again the first episode to understand why he didn’t get it
He was asking the old lady why she allowed the request to demolish the shrine to Hong Jo, a stranger.
Why did you allow it to a stranger? he asks. And the old lady reacts to the stranger remark with a head tilt, coming towards him, like no no, boy, that’s no stranger.
What the old lady actually says:

It’s a woman you killed
The owner of the bloody hand that caresses you cheek
Karma will swallow you and you will struggle in horrible pain
But all the pain and curses will end.
Finally, the owner of the wooden box showed up.

And he acts after like he understood that he’s been told Hong Jo is the owner of the wooden box. But he never addresses the fact he’s also been told she’s the owner of the bloody hand.
And they waste screen time with him stuck with his girlfriend.
This show started with a lot of potential and ended up kind of a mess..

I wonder if it is Lynn or Gummy. Will need to check. It is interesting to me that you recall descendants of the sun. Another show where the romance Between the main couple left me cold.

I was confused because I thought he had broken up with her But their behavior is as though they are still together. This episode reminded me that he had promised her he would not break up with her while she was working at city hall to spare her embarrassment. I am afraid this will be giving her ammunition against him with their parents. After all they are still planning a wedding.

@Monmor , I thought it was only after the fireworks scene that SY decided to finally break up with NY. That’s why he said they both must remain pure until then.

So after breaking up SY promised NY that he won’t tell that they’ve broken up to save her embarrassment at the city hall.

I mean really, he could have told that to HJ straight away coz that was the whole point of being together after he said I love you.

Oh maybe it’s Gummy. And I did like Descendants of the Sun. 😊

Sounds like we are all a little confused. There are probably too many gaps at this point that they surely aren’t telling us else the story unravels too soon.

So…we have this questions…
1. Red hand – when and why does it appear? Why was there a gap in its appearance, from the car accident to this end of episode 10.

2. Why wasn’t SY forthright with HJ about what he promised NY from the beginning. (This is also the typical drama problem, not being honest/sharing critical info with your other half)

Also what spell did she make again?? On who? I need to go back and watch that scene again.

3. Who has the real black magic?
Which brings us to the question of whether HJ’s spells really worked, or was it the gardener’s spell?? 😱

While it is frustrating that the break up is so long drawn, I accept that this part and parcel of the angst they will put us through. I’m sure NY has a part in the past life…she is the evil one here… or who could be the enemy of SY and HJ? Do you think she was betrothed to past life SY?

@Monmor the best thing about the red hand was reading @packmule’s and @cleopatra’s exchange about the red hand. Although this drama is unfolding a bit messily – I do enjoy it and I am enjoying Rowoon quite a bit especially in the humorous scenes. He is so pretty I have found him distracting in other roles – but this role seems a good fit and his acting is getting better.
