    Thanks @pkml3!

  2. I’m so glad we have episode 3 and 4 soon. ☺️

Happy to have a drama that makes me excited every week. πŸ˜ƒ

  3. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@agdr03 Yes, it’s a great feeling, isn’t it? I only have a bit of time this week and then no time next week. But after that, I’ll be eager to catch up with the rest of this Show!

  4. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Episode 3 – Now that’s the kind of ending for an episode that I wanted to see. And JH smiled!

  5. Just commenting to subscribe to this thread. I started but there was so much going on that I put it aside to watch later when I could pay closer attention.

  6. Going to watch now. Many thanks, @packmule3. 🍜🍀🍚

  7. I want to watch it now but I have work and errands to do so it will have to wait but I’m excited. πŸ™‚

You made me excited @GB, πŸ˜‰

  8. Let the (seduction/falling in love) β€œgames” begin! Bring it on JH! I’m smiling, too @GB!

  9. In the opening narration she says there are times when even ordinary people need to to act. “One difference is that there are no NGs in real life.” Had to look this reference up. NG is a term of art in film/video industry and means no good and refers to a shot or a scene that is not usable.

  10. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @agdr03 LOL yes, that was the intent of my post. To get readers excited to watch Ep 3!

@Janey yes, yes… let’s see if that kid can do seduction LOL.

@Good Twin, I first learnt that acronym from watching the Taiwanese “Miss No Good”. It was a fun show. The funny thing was that in real life, in the BTS of that show, the NG person was not the FL but the ML LOL.

Well in RL, there are NGs, but we pick up the pieces if things fall apart, and move on.

  11. I’m so glad I slowed down to watch. The scene with the fortune teller is so funny. The BTS reference 😭 (We should start playing bingo with BTS references in dramas.) The fortune teller telling her she is the bee and then the fortune teller asks why the rose is lying down. The next scene cuts to our “rose” aka JH lying down on the floor at DH’s. JH thinks he has the upper hand but he is not going to know what hit him (literally and figuratively)!

  12. This is so clever – when they’re staring at each other in the final scene and he blinks and then smiles while she holds his gaze! Made me laugh.
Him calling her a cult leader. Her patting DH’s butt and asking for Vienna sausage in the shape of an octopus. This is my favorite drama in a long time

  13. @agdr03 thank you for recommending this ! I watched a little and I love it… I’m going to complete the whole 4 ep in this week ❀️ I LOVE the FL including her flaws. She’s very self aware and gutsy with a healthy dollop or four of self esteem.

  14. @Janey, yes me too ! JH thinks he’s very smart and can swindle his way out of anything. I don’t think that’s going to be the case here. Hee hee hee.

@Good Twin yes, I LoLed when the scene cut to JH laying on the floor. The 6 ft+ tall “rose” that keeps trying to manipulate.

  15. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Heh @Good Twin, my subs didn’t give me the Vienna sausage with the details of it being cut to octopus shape LOLOL. Love that detail. No wonder ahjumma looked befuddled.

Loved how Grandpa took all their nonsense about not having kids, moving to New York, etc and then after a one-on-one with AJ, took the wind out of their sails by accepting the marriage!!! The jaw dropping was almost audible LOLOL. ‘Chagrin,’ thy name is now Choi!!!

I’m liking Grandpa quite a bit. He has some ideas in his head, but he keeps a straight face and keeps mum. It’s possible he knows more than he lets on.

  16. Also @GB, one begins by thinking one is the rose. Then one wonders if one might be a butterfly. Either the victim or the delicate , innocent beauty. But alas ! It appears one is a bee, and not just any bee, but the Nasty Bee 🐝

  17. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

LOL Arihsi, and even if one thinks one is the rose, one might be the thorn and not the flower!

  18. Yes, really intelligent and innovative writing!

@GrowingBeautifully, I agree that the grandfather is playing his cards close to his chest. I’ve seen the actor before and I really like this portrayal with his melancholic or put-upon expressions. He may be better at the whole acting, lying, omitting actions than all of the rest of them. Death bed to golf course for example.

When AJ was leading the conversation with the village people, I could’t help thinking that she would be good on the board of directors. She was playing it as a one-off, but her ad-libs and also great memory of all JH had told her about the project made her able to sound very knowledgeable and sway opinions. (Except for the bride, who may become another thorn unless she can be won over, right?)

Even the commercial aspects of the plot are interesting to me. A development on green land that for once isn’t opposed by locals, how planning permissions work and how a project can get passed from one company to another by the government, why the shares of LJ are dropping and the effect on even minor investors… I wonder how the older siblings will try to sabotage the development.

  19. –Not to mention that JH was pretty impressed by the ‘cult leader.’ His words might be somewhat prophetic. I wonder how AJ might win over this family.

  20. @Growing Beautifully, I also tried to figure out the term ‘Jade Mat.’ Apart from the obvious link to prosperity, health and well being, would it be like this product? — Infrared Heat Therapy Healing Jade Mat/Pad. This healing mat includes 126 pieces of natural jade stones – the Asian tradition of heating jade stones for comfort and health. Every jade stone 1″ in diameter. With a programmable Thermostat and timer, provides safe, long-lasting, deep penetrating far infrared therapeutic heat.
    πŸ˜†
Or is it just some advantageous situation (relationship or person) one might traverse to get benefits?

  21. I’m also laughing at JH’s little entry-level car. It needs co-star billing, I think. They could have given him any inexpensive car, but this one gives a very humourous vibe, with the utilitarian, stubby frame – sort of the opposite of what you would imagine him, at over 6 feet tall, to drive.

  22. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I actually have more to say about Ep 3, but I’ve finished Ep 4 and hubba, hubba! Hot date between enemies! I’d have had butterflies and heart flutters!!

Unexpectedly, or perhaps it should have been expected since rain and the accident in which his mother died, sets off JH’s trauma, there’s danger in this breezy show as well! But this show does it better than Doctor Slump.

I love that the honesty continues to abound. If that is not heart fluttery, the girls’ heart must be made of stone!

  23. Another satisfying episode. Hitting all the tropes but in a self aware way with clever dialogue. The screen writer is very good with dialogue. Very Business Proposal vvip hotel scene with the actress.

  24. Waaaaaa! It keeps getting better and better. I’ll watch episode 4 after laundry but may the Best Actor and Actress win!!! Bring it on! LOL!

I am definitely counting on the shaman with her prediction that Ajung will have a loving husband and they will have 2 kids! SOLD!!! Yipee!

  25. @agdr03, I think the shaman will be correct as well.

I don’t know where to start on episode 4. JH’s aggressive ‘dating’, then trying to distance himself by sending in a substitute, only to have it backfire.

Q1: Why didn’t AJ just tell JH to get lost? Did she see the seduction as a challenge?

Q2: What’s with all of JH’s money all of a sudden? Fancy car, buys out 1st class on a flight, reserves entire restaurant, buys designer clothes… TBH, I kept expecting to see a drone photographing them from outside the penthouse window.

Q3: Did anyone see who met DH outside of his studio? Was it the dodgy reporter or a former boyfriend?

The car crash is starting to sound like murder or manslaughter at least – a car chase? From whom was she fleeing? The aversion to rain reminds me of the ML in ‘She Was Pretty.’

  26. @Fern – so this is probably trying to apply logic to a completely fantastical storyline but here goes my thoughts to your questions:
Q1 – What did he say “I’m going to seduce you so good” what a great cheesy line! Yes probably. I think she saw it as a challenge, plus she still wants to see him fail at this point in their relationship.
Q2 – I always thought he had money, he just tries not to show it since his identity is hidden at work. His house and all the cars in the basement that Do Han commented on. He is not the chosen heir but he hasn’t been disinherited.

Regarding his aggressive dating – except that this is a romcom and I don’t think it will go in this direction – he easily could have used both the date and the blind date to ruin her reputation. I don’t like how casually he tries to manipulate her, but she is nobody’s fool. At the end of the blind date she was more worried about him being insulted by the blind date than herself. Through the blind date’s description of JH she learns that he has more substance than she perhaps thought.

Q3 – that was the boyfriend who was shown beaten up in a flashback. I do like how instead of introducing new characters they are keeping the same cast of characters to expand the story – the boyfriend in the flashback, the nemesis actress, the wedding “friend” and her husband who sold the plot of land.

The ML fear of rain was in Business Proposal too.

I hope DH’s storyline picks up – right now he is not terribly interesting and he is mostly humorless. I hope they give him more personality than he has shown so far.

  27. The scene between his and his assistant describing being in love was so well written.

When the actresses’ lackey started to clap after JH’s romantic gesture with the hotel suite – too funny!

  28. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    @Fer, @agdr03, @Good Twin, @Arihsi, @Janey

I’m thinking how AJ and JH make the couple best suited for each other because they both do not flee when the going gets tough. They get going!!! They stay to do a thorough job of whatever it is they choose to do. (I noted that JH had said the kind of person he hated was one who did not do something properly/completely whether it was work or an apology).

We see the amount of homework that both AJ does for her ‘roles’ and JH does to ‘woo’ AJ. No sparing of expense, loads of research, planning and then action!!! We see that AJ and DH have a clash of style when they face adversity. DH runs without even stopping to help (strange when he’s not the one with the trauma, as far as we know it … but maybe he has other trauma). AJ and JH stay the course and hold on. They both even say the same thing about staying on til the end; or encouraging the other party who is suffering to persist.

@Fern, so why does AJ go along with JH’s seduction? The script calls for it, LOL, and it was a challenge that she would not back down/not run away from. She’ll challenge back and they’ll see who has the upper hand. So far she’s been ‘winning’. She got JH to apologise and even to thank her, when he thought he could just roughshod it over her with arguments and lures, then by palming her off to an acquaintance whom he didn’t know was a creep. JH will ‘lose’ because he does not want to cause harm to others. But that’s his winning quality. He’ll also lose because he loves her more than he knows.

My take on his super-spending is that he always had the means. He shared a huge house with his brother where they share also several expensive cars. I imagine grandpa does not stint in giving the boys money and material stuff, but he has a thing about the company going to DH and not to JH, even though he knows that JH makes the better business manager.

JH is able to pay the secretary serving him who’s in the know and has the means to find out stuff about people. However, he deliberately chooses to ‘live poor’. He knew his grandpa would not assign him a role in the company, so he entered LJ as an intern and was working his way up. He won awards for 3 years. He saved up his hard-earned money. He made sure he had a daily-use inexpensive car. He was proving his ability to his grandpa, and showing up his half-brother as a useless lump.

In the middle of one of the episodes, there’s a scene where Show is still keeping the identity of the person who called DH and met him, a secret.

At the end of Ep 4, the person whom DH bumped into outside after the lights went out again looked like the previous boyfriend who had been beaten up. (Did he hurt himself or did someone beat him up is the question that’s in my mind, actually).

Yes, the accident which killed the mother of these chaebol grandkids was definitely more like murder. We get a flashback memory of JH’s where another car was pushing his mother’s car off the road. JH was in the car at that time, and yet, he managed to end up outside the car, looking back in at his mother, … it’s likely that he too was meant to die but he either got out or was pulled out of the car.

So now that we hear someone is trying to cause an accidental fire and keeps doing stuff to DH’s basement lights, it begs the question, who is really being targeted by the ‘killer’?

When we consider the people who have easy access to the house, it would only be the brothers and the secretaries. I’ll be sad to find out that one of the secretaries is the culprit. Those 2 ‘friends’ are a great side pair to watch and they give us intell. I want Sec Kim to be able to redeem those coupons that had been given by 14-year-old JH.

  29. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Janey, so we get an answer to our question… can JH who seems like such a kid at times, do seduction? The answer seems to be, ‘Yes!’. The most swoony things he did:

    * watching every single show AJ appeared in to study the male leads. She wasn’t even a lead in those shows!!! She never got close to the male leads. JH did such a good job imitating those male leads anyway!

    * running to the TK Hotel to ensure that the louse blind date didn’t take advantage of AJ, and drinking up all that liquor which he is careful not to do, even with friends like Chae Won. Now he’s collapsed on her shoulder, what’s she going to do?

    * getting revenge for AJ against Na Ri was great in this dramaworld, it was so satisfying. Again he did a lot of research to find out how AJ had been bullied and humiliated. He said he could not do the other boyfriend stuff but he could get revenge for her LOL.

  30. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Good Twin, so true about applauding that speech! I was quite moved too! JH gave an astounding performance as the ‘boyfriend’ of AJ.

I am thinking of the Mysteries around the accident.
    * Grandfather does not want to push the investigation further, although he hears that there was a chase and it was not a mere accident. He’s protecting someone? He’s being blackmailed? Someone is being threatened or someone naive made a mistake?

    * The Choi siblings and Lee siblings all seem to think JH is responsible for their mother’s death. Was it merely because he survived the accident while their mother died? How was an 8-year-old supposed to have prevented any of that tragedy?

    = = =

    The Intriguing Honesty
It’s strange to think that JH can tell AJ to her face that he does not like her but will steal her away from DH anyway by making her fall for him (JH)… and that he’ll seduce her and then dump her!!! One would think that such honesty would blast his chances at once, but not in this case! Any guesses why?

Is it because, where AJ finds herself acting as a matter of course with people who are hypocrites/insincere, she finds herself authentic when it comes to honest people, and JH is honest to a fault? She appreciates the fact that JH tells it to her like it is, and still tries to ‘woo’ her anyway? He really upped the challenge for himself!!!

AJ to JH: “I’m asking just in case. Do you like me?”
JH still unaware of his own feelings: “No.”
AJ: “Then why did you say that? It sounded like you did.”
JH: “I was only being honest. I don’t like you, but I plan to steal you.”
    AJ: “Why?”
JH: “If you fall for me, you won’t marry DH. Be dumbfounded and get butterflies. It’s my turn to make you feel like that.” (She caught on to this admission at once. She had raised heart flutters in him!) “And in the end, you’ll have fallen for me. I’ve made up my mind. I’ll seduce you and dump you.” He smiles.
AJ looks steadily at JH: “JH, did you get butterflies because of me?”
    JH: “What?”
AJ: “You just said it was your turn to make me feel like that. That means you felt that way about me before.”
JH is still honest, he does not deny it: “That’s not all I said. You get on my nerves.”

LOL regarding giving her butterflies, he says wait a while… then he says maybe because it’s too chilly and puts his jacket over her… pulls her close. But she actually takes a few moments, checks her feelings and tells him she still has no butterflies LOLOL.

Although she says she’s not into him in the beginning of this episode, we know that changes before the end of the episode, when she refreshes her makeup and rushes to TK Hotel to meet the one whom she thought would be him.

  31. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Episode 4 – Irony Galore
Just from the beginning although there’s more…

Outside the house JH claims he will seduce AJ.
Inside the house, Grandpa declares he accepts the marriage between DH and AJ.

Outside the house JH says AJ won’t make a DH a good wife, while she says JH is not a good brother.
Inside the house, the bad half-brother is getting slapped by grandpa for saying he just took in the brothers who caused their mother’s death.
The real bad siblings come streaming out of the house and JH who’s considered not a good brother to DH gets slapped in DH’s place.

Half-sister Seung Ah goes too far in hitting JH and it’s AJ who stops her from attacking her enemy.

JH is called trash but Sec Kim suggests to Grandpa that DH does not want the position while JH would make a good business manager.
The one who’s the better business manager is cleaning up the trash at home.

Eun Taek thinks that JH has a lot on his mind to do with the succession, but every time JH throws down his cleaning cloth or duster in disgust, it’s because he recalls one of AJ’s criticisms.
AJ should be in cloud nine for getting her wedding approved but she’s literally beating up her brother-in-law LOL, because she thinks about how JH was being beaten and humiliated by his half-siblings.

Outsiders and the Chois expect that the Lees would be gloating over the success of the wedding acceptance. But no one is happy for various reasons. The most ironic lack of happiness resides in JH who should have been glad his brother gets the company, but now he wants to stop his brother from getting the girl as well.

    Being Bested by Grandpa
I like that all the youngsters think that they can manipulate circumstances and people to suit themselves but end up failing because Grandpa is unpredictable.

He would not investigate the accident.
He will not give the company to his legitimate grand kids.
He will not do nefarious things to force AJ to give up or DH to run away.
He decides to play along with the act of DH and AJ and confounds their plans completely. He’s not afraid to back down from his immediate demands for the long-term goal. He’s playing the long game too, like JH, but maybe he’s better at it and more patient.
    He’s the twister of plots.

  32. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I applaud Show for the smart title. ‘Mission Impossible’ had protagonists working in a team, creating scenarios, donning masks, playing fake their roles faultlessly over time to deceive and so as to bring about an unexpected and difficult conclusion. ‘Wedding Impossible’ offers many similar elements, but with more than 1 team working at cross purposes.

The fun continues because circumstances keep changing unexpectedly, and the teams need to improvise.

  33. I couldn’t figure out jade mat – it is hard to google because of the ordinariness of the words jade and mat. I did see a reference to a jade mat in an ancient chinese love poem. A jade mat would be a step up from a doormat one presumes!

  34. I assume mat refers to a sleeping mat. So a jade mat would be a fancy bed?

  35. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Fern @Good Twin, when was ‘jade mat’ mentioned? My subs didn’t seem to mention jade???

  36. @Growing Beautifully, I’m watching on Viki and the subs seem to be a bit different. AJ’s girlfriends described DH as maybe being a Jade Mat. I found that there are electric ones on sale at Amazon, if it’s the modern meaning. The subs you wrote for the ‘I will seduce you’ are slightly different, but the same gist.

Thank you, everyone, for the explanations and theories.

Yes, Grandfather is an old fox, right? I wonder if he has an inkling that romance could be possible between AJ and JH? They were together the first time he ever saw her. I think he may have suspected (as one might) that DH is gay, which is why he would accept a ‘love’ marriage even if it’s not ideal.

I don’t think the secretaries are involved in the strange happenings at DH’s studio, at least I hope not. The ex-boyfriend might still have the combination for the studio door and he may well be bitter after what happened. Hell hath no fury like a lover scorned, right? He might want to blackmail DH after seeing the news about his takeover.

  37. @Growing Beautifully, here is the Viki subs.

AJ: I’m asking you this just in case. Do you like me, Lee Ji Han?
    JH: No
AJ: Then why would you say that? As if you’re confessing your love.
JH: It is a confession. To be exact, it’s a confession of conscience. I don’t like you, but I’ll try stealing you away, Na a Jeong.
    AJ: Why
JH: Because if you end up liking me, you won’t be able to marry my brother. Keep feeling dumbfounded, get flustered and get excited. It’s my turn to make you feel that way. Once you organize your feelings, you’ll be in love with me already. I made up my mind. I’ll seduce you real good and kick you to the curb.

AJ: Lee Ji Han, did you feel flustered, dumbfounded and excited because of me?
    JH: Pardon?
AJ: That’s what you just said. You said it’s your turn to make me feel that way. Then, doesn’t that mean I did that to you before?
JH: Don’t just hear what you want to hear. Why leave out what I said before that? I said you annoy me.

  38. I like JH’s secretary Eun Taek. I don’t think he can be a bad guy, because he likes one of AJ’s loyal besties, who calls him by the type coffee he orders.

I was laughing when Eun Taek was complaining about his own love life and blaming his fails on JH who scoffs at the idea of being helpless in love.

ET: If it was that easy, would it be love? My feet just keep moving toward her without realizing it, I keep looking at her, and she’s got all of my attention. Liking someone is like that.
JH: Isn’t that more like a robot controlled by a scientist rather than liking someone?
ET: Once you really start liking someone, you’ll understand all that…

I think JH is showing signs of that already.

  39. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks for the Viki subs, @Fern. Yes, the same yet different!

    Some thoughts as I rewatch…

I’m just doing a quick rewatch of Episode 4… I LOLed that such a good actor, Jung Kyung Ho did a cameo as the undesirable blind date of Chae Won. Poor Chae Won. JKH’s character was so slimy!

We get a rare flashback of Chae Won’s on her wedding day when JH opposed it, for Do Han’s sake. He had said that if he’d known she would end up marrying as she did, he’d have made a move on her, but he had taken back those words. Taking back words, of course, never work… what’s been said has been heard (and that was the purpose) and the words would continue to be remembered. So saying them and taking them back was a disingenuous way to have his cake and eat it. He was able to affect Chae Won but not take responsibility for having done that.

Then we come to the toxic Na Ri who scolds her own assistant for looking down on AJ (when she didn’t) but then goes on to humiliate AJ loudly by saying she never had any major roles. I believe Eun Taek described Na Ri as someone with an inferiority complex who kept a better actress, like AJ around her, but in minor roles, so that she could mock/humiliate her now and then.

I’m amazed that JH went to the trouble of going to the same boutique to deliberately snatch the dress that Na Ri wanted to buy so as to gift it to AJ. Booking the whole desserts cafe and all the airplane seats in Business Class, plus taking over Na Ri’s suite at the hotel were not as awe-dropping as snatching that dress! He’s nothing, if not thorough in what he chooses to do. (A bit scary actually!)

No wonder he was so arrogant and sure that he’d seduce AJ successfully. He knew he’d to a thorough job. However it wasn’t the hard work that started winning her over, but the realisation that he was lonely and badly treated, like her. She started to identify with his pain and hate that he had been beaten and insulted and did not stand up for himself.

She saw that he stood up to Na Ri, but he chose his battles carefully. Loved how he said that what Na Ri had done to AJ mattered to him because she was his heroine that day.

I LOLed every time he’d talk so cool about what he does for AJ, and then spoils it by asking ‘How was it? Did you get butterflies?” LOL.

  40. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Fern, JH is definitely showing signs of of liking AJ. He did from the time he got her the acting role and watched her acting, with a smile on his face.

Continuation of ad hoc recap …
The next morning she looks at the scar on his face and notices another scar under his shirt. She draws back from touching him when he opens his eyes to ask if she appreciated the view (narcissistic!)
JH: β€œKeep looking, then. I’ll let you.”
He gets up with a smile and touches his scar, because she’d been paying him attention.

However it begins to rain and he gets tense. She notices how he’s gripping the arm rest in the plane and places her hand on his. This is a parallel to how she’d be afraid of the turbulence when they had first taken off to go to Busan. However he hadn’t taken the liberty of holding her hand then.

DH gives AJ marriage registration forms to fill out and plane tickets to New York (dated 10 Apr 2023 – 10 Apr 2024). However DH has to meet AJ’s family first. While AJ is preparing to get married, JH is busy choosing a blind date for her LOL.

AJ’s friends think she went to Busan with DH and she does not tell them that she went with JH. At that moment he messages her to go to TK Hotel. Although she complains that if he wants to see her he should come and not expect her to come and go as he wants, she refreshes her make-up and rushes out eagerly to meet him.

JH finds out that he’d set AJ up with a creep of a blind date and abandons Chae Won to go to AJ.

At the blind date, AJ throws a drink in the creep’s face so he threatens her that he’d spread rumours about JH paying an actress to sleep with him. He makes a snide remark which escapes me: β€œRight. Trying to set me up with you? Does he want me to become like his mum? Drink. Unless you want that parasite to crumble from weird rumours.” From describing JH as an upright guy he has changed his tune and calls him a parasite.

AJ was on her way out but returns to keep creep from ruining JH’s reputation, offering to drink if creep promised not to hurt JH. JH steps in at the right moment to take the glass away from AJ, exactly like the male leads that he’d studied LOL. He drinks all the liquor in the bottle too and walks out with AJ. She’s surprised that he drank so much without berating the creep.

  41. Thank you for your amazing notes @GB and @Fern πŸͺ πŸͺ

About being lonely, I would think AJ is in a much better position because her family stands by her. They support her very well from what I have seen of the drama (I haven’t watched it fully yet). JH seems to have no one. The house keeper notes to DH, “If you also leave, there won’t be a single sunny day left in JH’s life.”

I feel a part of AJ’s self esteem and confidence comes from having a solid family to rely on.

  42. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Continuing the ad hoc recap …

AJ is angry and JH thinks it’s because he set her up on a date with a creep.
AJ: β€œThe point isn’t whether someone decent or not came as a date. You heard him, but why didn’t you do anything?” (He had stood up to Na Ri for AJ, but he didn’t stand up for himself).
AJ: β€œYou always say harsh things to me, but why did you just listen to all that crap? Can’t you talk?”
    JH: β€œOf course I can.”
AJ: β€œSee? You talk back to me all the time. Why didn’t you talk back to him?”

JH: β€œAre you angry because of that? Not because I sent you on a blind date?”
AJ: β€œYou know, I don’t care what strangers say. I won’t see them again anyway.” She says that she gained by eating delicious food and getting expensive drinks for free. β€œThere was no loss for me. But it’s different for you. Why do you keep getting hurt in front of me? Your cheek and that jerk’s words. You’re making me feel sorry.”
JH: β€œYou don’t get butterflies. You just feel sorry?”
AJ: β€œYou’re really going on about that?” (Yes, he’s really one-track minded!)

JH: β€œI’m angry too. Because you were insulted.”
AJ: β€œThat’s a surprise. Getting angry because of me? I thought you hated me the most.”
JH: β€œI guess I like you, then.” He takes a step towards her. β€œI like you enough to get angry if someone insults you.”

He passes out on her shoulder and the preview suggests that she brought him to her home and he complains that he’s been kidnapped. πŸ˜‚

It’s said that love and hate are two sides of the same coin. I like that Show has given us so much dialogue and so many encounters between the leads that it makes perfect sense how they turned from enemies to lovers. They found that they were both relatively decent people who were trying to achieve their dreams, but who were hurt without being able to fight back in certain situations. This called for camaraderie rather than challenges or battles. The ways to both their hearts were through feeling sorry for each other because they both understood how it felt to be the one not preferred.

  43. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @Arihsi, I agree that between the two, it’s JH who’s got the lonelier lot. It was rightly pointed out by AJ’s sister that JH is badly treated by his family and his brother does not listen to him. It seems he only speaks to Eun Tak, maybe to Sec Kim and meets Chae Won from time to time. With other guys he’s very careful and won’t drink liquor.

Now he has found a person like AJ,
who faced some circumstances similar to him,
and whom he finds he can speak with,
    who commiserates with him
and who helped him when he had indigestion,
and when he faced the wrath of country folk
and when he was afraid in the rain…
He had found someone who is not his paid secretary,
but who was angry on his behalf,
and who had sought to protect him by staying to drink with the creep.
He had found a friend in AJ (he called her his heroine) and someone he’s not likely to want to let go.

  44. @Fern and @GB when the secretary describes love as “my feet just keep moving toward her without realizing it” We soon have a scene where JH is quite literally running towards AJ at hotel. He seen in the bathroom washing his face with cold water asking himself what he is doing – seemingly having gotten their on auto pilot when he thought she may be in danger. He has become the robot being led by his heart.

That blind date cameo was golden – he looked rich and greasy!

I have one small quibble – AJ’s hair it is so limp and unflattering. She looked so pretty in the hotel room when her hair was in a pony tail in the hotel room. She needs a few inches taken off, a good blow out and some hair extensions for body imho!

  45. *their – there Homonyms – hate them! I need an editor

  46. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Good Twin that’s true. JH simply headed for AJ and he found that he could not stop himself from going to her. At first he looked for her, thinking she might have been abandoned, then when he saw that she was still with the creep, he paused to ask himself what he was doing. He must have waited around long enough to hear what was being said, because he stopped AJ just in time from downing that drink.

I agree that the stylist is not bothering much with AJ’s appearance. She often looks like she’s without make-up and her hair is just left natural. Perhaps she’ll get some kind of makeover later?

  47. @Good Twin and @GrowingBeautifully, I agree that AJ isn’t styled well. That is to say, except after her boxing practice, where she looks messy and possibly sweaty as one would. I liked how she looked when she was getting ready to see JH. But by the time he showed up, she seemed wilted and lacklustre.

Yes, I understand that JH was obviously liking her by the time she was in the drama at the department store. The imitation by Eun Taek was so funny.

I also liked their conversation in the hotel room when AJ said that she wondered if she would be happy if she just stopped trying so hard. Ep. 4, about 42.30.
AJ: What did I work hard for? If I just give it all up completely, do you think this nagging, lingering feeling will disappear, too?
JH: Without lingering feelings, you could probably be happy.
    AJ: Probably, right?
JH: But probably not grow. Don’t you think? The greatest emotion that helps a person grow is disappointment. Disappointment makes you strive for the next time. Don’t give it up completely. That lingering feeling. Someday that will motivate you to action.

I found his words both practical and tenderly caring.

I agree that their personalities are similar. They will fight rather than flee (except JH about his family history). They have both been rejected multiple times. They are both fairly pristine as far as relationships go. JH seems particularly careful – upright in the blind date’s words. It’s interesting that he won’t hang out with more than one other man at a time because “when more than two guys meet up, it always leads to trouble.”

Just as JH’s robot feet brought him to the hotel, so did AJ’s robot feet make her try to meet him there earlier, despite being out with friends and completing her wedding forms to file, along with DH, at the Jeongak District Office. Just the fact that she completely forgot or ignored DH is telling.

I think that DH is very vulnerable here and there will be some major damage done to him by this secret attempt at seduction. How can he forgive his brother and his best friend if their meeting gets revealed. It’s only a matter of time, because step-brother has someone spying on them.

  48. Anyeong chinggus! I am really enjoying this show! JH is becoming one of my favorite MLs! What he did for AJ at the Busan Film Festival was so swoony… and the way it was revealed was β€œMission Impossible” style. I was laughing and clapping (like the PA of Nari) on how JH thwarted her plans from the dress, the business class being full (although in reality, this will not happen since he just booked the day before, not sure what clout he has to bump off everyone else who already had business class tickets – but I don’t care, it was too good!) to the restaurant and hotel.

JH does good research when he needs to. even with Chae Won, he was already wooing her for DH even before her first marriage. CW is actually falling for him ( I think CW is the butterfly to the thorny rose JH and AJ is the bee) and she even thought he was defending her honor when JH physically punished the stage/production guy who bumped into her but that was actually for AJ. His research on AJ was spot on and since she watches and is in to so many dramas, that was the hook! His amalgamation of the male leading man exacting revenge for her was awesome!

Despite this, he is unaware of his brother’s secret life.

@Fern – what part was the jade bed mentioned? I don’t remember seeing this in the subs.

On the last scene of ep4 – I believe the drink was spiked. She would have been in a worse situation if he did not stop it, although it was his fault why she was there in the first place. He did not do a good research on the douchebag guy.

BTW, This drama is worth rewatching the episodes.

  49. @Janey – yes there is something more to see/ponder from this drama. The comments too are adding a different perspective too – like that it wasn’t just JH running to AJ, but that she also dropped everything to run towards him.
I also think this drama offers some lessons on screenwriting and dialogue. One thing I have noticed about kdramas is how much of the story is told through narration or voice over – Dr. Slump is a good example. In this show, there is some narration – but most of the story is told through dialogue between the characters. For example, when AJ learned that she got the role through nepotism, instead of a voice over where she tells us a story of getting in trouble as a kid for lying or some such, the scene cuts to her sister having a conversation with her young son about the ethics of lying about whether or not he ate the kimchi at preschool. We learn through this scene that there is a family value around honesty and ethics and it serves to reinforce AJ’s unease about taking a role from another actress. (Small aside: I assume at some point AJ will have to deal with the cognitive dissonance of abhorring dishonesty and actually lying to everyone)

Similarly, the discussion about falling in love between JH and his assistant might be a scene that is narrated in the first person in another drama with ML sharing what he thinks about love.

I’m sure there are more examples to be had, but these are two scenes that struck me as a clever way to expand what a character might be thinking without having the character tell us outright.

  50. So nice and enriching to read everyone’s views here. @GB, @good twin, @janey, @fern… I’m having this much fun because I’m watching this drama WITH all you guys ❀️

Now for my (wild) two cents πŸ™ˆ

My observations are based on the opening theme and not what we’ve seen till now. The opening theme actually tells a story, instead of just being artistic as in MMH.

The opening theme begins with opening an envelope to a marriage invitation followed by a heavily corrected contract which is kissed, not signed by FL but signed by ML. She kissed and gave something to JH, didn’t she ? This implies it’s not a real marriage.

Then we proceed to a couple of frames with Korean marines shown prominently+ volunteering and a frame with horses and women from alternative white and black stripes – I’m yet to figure out what this may imply.

Next is the ring and the wedding – meaning they’ll proceed with the wedding. JH’s plans are not successful. BUT BUT BUT, She is abducted from the scene (against her will). Maybe they’ll make it look like she ran away ? JH is NOT behind the abduction because he’s depicted with a long tie. Maybe grandpa ? Psycho ex-bf ? Evil half-siblings ?

Then her dress changes. Maybe she’s forced to change identity? Followed by a forced plane ride. Maybe sent somewhere away from DH where she can’t be found easily?

This frame is followed by her image with a big HELP written on it. Meaning she needs to be rescued. She’s definitely not in a situation she can get out of herself – along comes a man in a tie (not DH because DH is in bow-tie. This man wears a long tie. It’s JH). She falls and this man catches her in his car. – JH rescues her.

But then… Comes the climax. It starts raining and the car falls apart. He is ousted from the family he’s barely holding on to / the company ?

It continues to rain in drops larger than his image, meaning it is overwhelming him completely and his image becomes very small… Like that of a scared individual overwhelmed with fear and sadness. His posture changes to that of a person in despair. He starts to fall in that posture because there is no car anymore.

Enter hands of a woman (they’re purple. Same colour as the dress of FL earlier). Much bigger and stronger than his small, hunched image. The hands don’t let him fall. He is cradled in one of them safely while the other shields him from the rain. The umbrella is small and covers only him. The rain continues to fall on the hands but they’re so big and strong compared to the drops and one doesn’t feel concerned. He finally looks up to his saviour and we close the envelope.

She, the Nasty Beeℒ️ is going to save the fallen thorny roseℒ️.

    Fin.

PS – Did anyone notice that in the final shot of Ep 4, when AJ is holding on to a collapsed JH, they zoom out to a ginormous image of roses in a vase in the background? Nasty Beeℒ️ is already holding the thorny roseℒ️ in her arms.

  51. @Arihsi – too funny! The horse is her riding in the saeguk (sp) and I think one of the women is her diving (she learned scuba diving just in case).
The jet is I am assuming the recent trip they went on. I hope there is not a kidnapping – but who knows? And without a doubt she will rescue him in the end.

  52. Howdy! I’ll echo @Arihsi that this drama is more enjoyable with you Ladies because of the comments and break down of scenes. Thank you! I really appreciate it too. πŸ™‚

I agree that this is worth rewatching because there’s so much to unpack. I actually didn’t hear the jade mat and the sausages being cut into octopus? I’m watching on a streaming site, I don’t have VIKI access.

What I read about the request for sausages scene at the family gathering was for Ahjumma to cut the head/sides off. LOL!

I have been thinking about the opening credits too so thank you @Arihsi for going over it. πŸ™‚

I agree that Grandpa is hiding more than he lets on. How awful did the dinner turn into once he said that he is still handing DH the company.

I thought I had the butterflies too besides AJ and JH with all his boyfriend moves. Swooning and squealing here. πŸ™‚ I like how they showed both of them running thinking that they will see each other.

The slap on the butt was hilarious. I haven’t seen one like it for awhile.

I like their honesty even with the knowledge that they do not like each other. It’s refreshing to just be upfront about it.

This drama is very addictive. I love it. πŸ™‚

  53. @Janey, I am watching on Viki, so the subs may be different if you aren’t watching there. In one of the first 2 episodes (I think) AJ’s two loyal girlfriends describe DH as potentially AJ’s jade mat. Sorry I can’t be more specific.

  54. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Janey, Yes this is a rewatchable drama!!! I need to double watch in order to remember the things that hit me on first watch. I’ll only be able to do that in 10 days time. Going to be busier and busier this weekend onwards!!!

  55. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks @Fern for the dialogue. As usual my transcription is slightly different.

Their Busan date at the hotel…

JH refuses to drink with AJ at first but she lies that she was going to rethink her feelings if he drank, so he downs a glass of wine, not wishing to leave any stone unturned in getting her to have heart flutters over him.

He listens to her regrets about not reaching her dream although she worked very hard and had tried her best, devoting pride and time to her dream. He says some of the wisest words to console her when she asked if she could have avoided the regret by giving up her dream.

JH: “You might become happy. … But you might not grow. Having regrets is what helps people grow. It makes them do better. So don’t let go of your regrets. I’m sure it will make you grow.”

He pours out another glass of wine for himself. She notes that he said he wouldn’t drink with her but was doing so. His capitulation is significant!

JH praises AJ’s acting compared to Na Ri’s: “And to be honest, I didn’t like the movie. Especially when Hong Na Ri was eating after starving. Your acting was much better in the reenactment show.”

She’s surprised that he watched all her shows, so he proves it by showing her his red eyes LOL. She stares at them for a while and acknowledges that he’s the first person to have watched all her shows apart from her parents.

JH: “You don’t need to feel so touched.”
AJ laughs at that, but the alcohol gets to her and he catches her head as she drops in sleep.

(Did I mention that I like his smile?)

  56. I’m guessing the scar hidden by his shirt is from the car crash when he was a child.

  57. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    @Arihsi, @agdr03, @Good Twin @Janey @Fern
Yes, this show has become super enjoyable because we’re all here holding forth on what tickles us and flutters our hearts.

Thanks @Arihsi for going through the opening credits for us. I was trying to figure out some of it too. I like the idea that the contract was kissed… the signature makes it valid but the kiss instead of using their personal chop/stamp makes it somewhat informal as well.

The footsteps on the contract was when JH stepped on a sheet of paper that fell when Aj bumped into him in Ep 1. The marines image up to the volunteering refer to JH who narrated how he’d been preparing like crazy since young to eclipse the useless Choi brother.

I don’t know why there were black and white stripes but I agree that the horse rider and women were the roles that AJ played.

I didn’t catch the neckties to know which male figure was whom but I just guessed. @Arihsi you’re probably right in how to interpret the wedding and how it fell through.

Interesting idea about her changing identity. Well she might have to play more than one role to hide or be hidden.

Yes, the ubiquitous yellow umbrella appears again: a sign of lasting love between the two who share it.

I like the purple hands that saved him.

Although I noticed the picture in the zoom out, it didn’t strike me as a rose. I tried to zoom in but it was not clear. Nevertheless the fact that we zoom out to include the facade of TK Hotel and the picture on the wall is probably significant. Your idea of the Bee holding on to the Thorny Rose sounds poetic!

  58. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Fern, I agree. That scar under his shirt was from when he was in the accident. I’m wondering if as a child he’d asked his mum to bring him somewhere and that’s why he’s being blamed when that trip resulted in her death. So unfair on the child who has grown up to be an adult with unresolved trauma.

  59. Hello everyone! It is indeed more fun to watch and discuss this show with you all! @PM3, when you have the time to watch this, let us know. I would not mind rewatching with you.

Thanks @Arihsi and @GB on your notes on the animation intro. Yes it was JH representing the shoe prints on the contract – the marine corp and volunteer to prepare for h the future takeover. Isn’t this same as AJ learning horseback riding, scuba diving just in case? These 2 really have a lot of common values.

My small quibble on the animation is that the beloved boxy green car was not in it, it showed another green car, broken by the rain (representing JH trauma). We know the ending, he is sheltered by AJ’s purple hand and yellow umbrella of love. Hopefully they get married with 2 kids as per Shaman!

@Arihsi – I am seeing that vase of roses at the TK hotel scene!

One thing I noticed on DH’s desk when he came back to the studio, torn papers with Corinne airlines- it’s the ticket to NYC he showed to AJ. My guess is his ex lover did that, he did not want him to go away again? In today’s world, no need for paper tickets! LOL! This was more symbolic.

  60. @Janey, good catch with the air tickets linking this to his ex-.

And yes, no little green car (name and brand hidden). Pity, but perhaps the animators didn’t have the information.

@GB, it seems idiotic to blame a child for that accident regardless of the reason for the ride. But perhaps they aren’t blaming him but rather saying that he blames himself? It still doesn’t add up to why he is Hyun Dae-Ho’s shame.

  61. @Fern, I think that grandpa knows more about the accident and maybe his guilt is translating to JH as his blemish (he is to blame for that). It may have to do with the reporter as well who only wants to talk to him. Reporter said he was doing this work for many years.

I also think that grandpa approved of the marriage because he can see that AJ and DH are really friends. He may know that DH is gay and that will solve his problem. On him insisting that DH will be the heir to the LJ business still does not make sense to me. Maybe JH is still too young? Granpa is still hiding that JH is his grandson to the public? Why?

I would think JH will be partly happy that grandpa approved of DH marriage and will continue to have DH inherit the company. But he is still adamant that the only path to success is CW marriage to DH. He is really a one-track mind kinda guy. DH already said he does not want marry CW (several times!) even without AJ in the past. He does not really have to steal AJ from him but instead revise his gameplan. But secretly or subconsciously, he wants AJ to be attracted to him. I can’t to see once he realizes that AJ is β€œthe one” for him, how one-track minded will he be on that!

  62. I agree with all above, @Janey. I wonder if Grandpa may be protecting himself or someone else about the accident? If someone he knew misinterpreted some remark he made in frustration and acted on it, thinking it was what he wanted? But that tragedy would be almost classic and he doesn’t present as a haunted, tragic figure.

Yes, we’re going towards another kind of car crash, with CW falling in love with JH, DH’s ex-partner showing up, JH and AJ falling in love with each other.

I don’t think it’s subconscious that JH wants AJ to be attracted to him; quite the opposite. He says he wants that and to be able to kick her to the curb afterwards, I guess, using AJ to make a scandal so DH can’t marry AJ and will have to marry CW? Interesting and rather horrid. So maybe some levels above the nasty blind date who was resorting to threats and possible spiked drinks to seduce? Clearly, although JH’s intentions aren’t honourable, his mind just doesn’t work that way. He can’t be ungentlemanly around her. She impresses him. He really wants to impress her in turn. And you are so correct: when he realises he loves her, what will he do?

In a way, even though DH is a flawed figure because of his inability to cope with fear and stress, I feel he is getting backed into a corner by so many people. His step-father and step-siblings want him to fail; his brother and father want him to marry and take on a huge corporation he doesn’t want; his best friend said she would marry him because he needs her support, but she is secretly dating his brother; someone is dangerously sabotaging his workshop. What could go wrong?

  63. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Janey, yes exactly. The one who will keep upending his own happiness is JH himself! He’s so one-track minded that he does not listen to others or himself. AJ says he does not listen to his brother which does not make him a good brother either.

    He insists that:
    DH must inherit the company.
    Chae Won must marry DH.
AJ must have butterflies/heart flutters for him (JH).

In all the above, none of the persons involved actually want what he wants for them. He seems to think that if DH gets LJ Group, then he (JH) will feel less guilty and perhaps be happy, but he does not think about the other persons’ happiness. Ultimately he will be miserable because even if things go the way he wants, those others will be unhappy and he would have been the one who hurt them.

AJ from her more objective perspective will hopefully be able to keep JH from hurting himself.

With regards to her own self, though, she might be a bit blind as well. She does not see that she’s attracted to JH. She may or may not have forgotten that she had the appointment with DH but she didn’t even call him to say that she was not able to meet him. She’s supposed to be acting but she forgot to act like the girlfriend. It’s a breach of contract!

  64. @Fern, @GB – great points!

LOL! You are right @GB! AJ is already on breach of contract as DH’s gf!

JH thinks the only way to pursue his dreams is to mastermind everything and be tough and even be mean on the outside but inside, he grapples with doing the right thing. Meeting AJ further pushes his limits. That’s why he is the thorny rose! The queen bee AJ will sap everything he has though. He will break that mold soon enough!

  65. @Janey and @GB

JH being “one-track minded” without much consideration of the people actually involved or forget other people, even his own well-being is underlined by his clothes and styling as well apart from his actions.

He wears monotones only. Grey, white, black – that’s it. He rarely wears casual clothes even outside of office. The rare occasions when he does, they’re all dull, oldish and again in dark colours. His colour palette extends maximum til brown.

The formals he wears are unimaginative at best with very tight fitting, no-design ties – I feel suffocated just looking at him ! The shirts are similarly dull without fail. A white shirt can be bright white or dull white. But the whites / blues JH wears are all so dull – as if along with JH himself, the shirt has also never seen the face of the sun.

Now, for someone who wears formals only and wants to appear impeccable (no drinking, no partying), he sure doesn’t comb his hair. His hair are a disheveled mess all the time, as if 1) he doesn’t care and 2) he has no one else who cares.

For us expecting him to care about DH’s opinions, DH doesn’t seem to care much about JH at all ! He doesn’t ask about the cut on his cheek even ! The housekeeper also notes that DH shouldn’t hate JH.

We all know K-dramas often depict their character’s inner turmoil or what they’re going through with clothes. Most recent example is MMH. A Ji Won with Ji Hyuk is in sparkly pinks – the moment she breaks up and later when he’s hurt – she’s in all black / grey. I think this can be seen in doctor slump as well though I’m not watching the drama. The ML is with similarly disheveled hair in all images depicting his mental health and shattered dreams.

The FL’s wardrobe in contrast in much more colourful with varied styles. She’s living well even with challenges mostly because of her nature and an outstandingly supportive family. She is well cared for.

In contrast, JH seems like a jacket that’s left hanging outside a home without anyone to bring it in or store it properly in a cover.

  66. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Arihsi, what an interesting observation. I sort of notice colours and looks but not enough obviously! Thanks for your take on JH. I think you’re right! Poor fellow is as dull as ditch water!

  67. “ditch water” @GB LoL πŸ™ˆ

    It’s going to change for sure… https://www.instagram.com/p/C3CLjfBpykF/?igsh=YjkxYzB6OGt1Z2t3

    Tee hee hee.

  68. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Aah! @Arihsi, we can look forward to him in dark blue!! LOL still a bit on the dull side but he looked quite fetching in it. Thanks for the link!

I haven’t seen this actor before but I like him. I may try another of his shows where he’s in the ML role. It looks like he only started acting in 2019 but has already been given 5 ML roles out of the 9 dramas he’s been in. That’s a pretty good percentage for a newbie!

  69. Ooo really @GB… I didn’t know. He’s only 23 it seems. It’s fitting that AJ was his hyung’s classmate. She’s elder to him. πŸ™‚ AThe casting is good that way. He looks younger than her because he is, both in real life and in the story.

Yup, the colour is still on the dark side. But at least the shirt looks like it saw a couple of washes and is recently bought. Also, one can breathe without that anaconda type tie. Plus rolled up sleeves… He looks relaxed and at ease – which is the theme of his relationship with AJ as you’ve rightly pointed out in an earlier comment.

  70. Thanks @Arihsi on the wardrobe notes! Very interesting indeed. Although JH’s clothes are quite rigid, he is cute as button if he lets the charm machine going. CW is swayed for sure, I bet the dinner talk they supposed to have was a love/like confession. If only he can sway grandpa of his merits especially on the business side.

Rewatching ep1 when the eldest grandson was apologizing to grandpa on stock manipulation scandal, he was saying the deal seemed legit until something happened and the Chinese firm pulled out – the camera focused on JH who just entered the room. I have a feeling he had something to do with that!

Also my first time to watch Moon Sangmin in a show and I’m very impressed. He is equally carrying the show on his able shoulders. His height and deep voice makes him look and sound more mature than his age, he can be good ML and can match older actresses like AJ and CW for noona romance.

  71. Ah yes @Janey they both are very pleasant to watch and re-watch on screen. I think the dynamic suits the story where he’s silently vulnerable in a way that is visible only to her.

In fact, I’m loving this younger ML older FL system. It was there in MMH as well where actually the ML is same age as FL in the story. Here, too. We’ve seen tooooo many unnecessary decades of excessively older MLs “romancing” women their daughter’s age onscreen.

The difference is much smaller and healthier here but I’m all for it. Why should the women be younger always, pray tell ? We didn’t promise no one to remain 18 all our lives.

  72. @agdr03 I don’t have Viki access either and subtitles seem to differ based on which streaming site… They very broadly mean the same but if one wants to enjoy good dialogue, they butcher it πŸ™ˆ I wish this drama was on a regular platform so that reliable translation was available.

  73. Dear All,

Here’s me thinking JH looks more dashing in his monochrome rather safe wardrobe than DH in his brownish hues! BUt thanks for the link, @Arihsi, because JH looks fabulous in blues.

I was sort of hoping this wouldn’t get a noona romance label, not because I’m against it (impossible for me) but because some people drop dramas solely on that basis.

@Janey, I remember thinking the same in that moment in the first episode. Good directing. If it was JH who made the Chinese pull out, he is really a sly boots! But if the step siblings figure it out, there will be revenge. I have the feeling that they will try to do something to destroy the Thai development, which will have a carry-over impact on the Korean shopping development.

    Happy weekend to all.

  74. @Fern I think a drama gets perceived as nonna romance only if it’s marketed as such and that’s not the case here thankfully. I don’t enjoy dramas such as sunbae don’t put that lipstick or something in the rain (qualified nonna romances). πŸ™ˆ

If people on the internet are anything to go by, everyone is enjoying AJ a lot. The actress is being praised too !

In other “news”, I checked the webtoon this drama is based on. It available on sites with lots of ads and umm…. Nope ! I didn’t like the FL there ! The FL we are seeing is a re-written FL and she’s much more gutsy, independent ,fresh and fun! I hope she stays that way.

P.S. I don’t mind current JH styling apart from that Anaconda type tie.

  75. On a personal note, comment on JH’s monochrome wardrobe is a bit rich coming from me. If you were to open my cupboard, it’s filled with blues, beige, white and black. Throw in a couple of magenta pieces for “special occasions”. I was LoLing this morning because I remembered what I wrote while getting dressed for office πŸ˜‰

I’m very monochrome. And no hope of a dramatic change like JH either because I’ve already been in love for an awfully long time 😁

  76. @Ahihsi, I thought it was a noona romance if viewers simply start calling it that regardless of the network’s billing. I still have a lot to learn.

As to your wardrobe, it sounds a lot like mine, mostly black, grey and white, with blues/teals. Earlier this week, we went to a funeral. There was a request for the attendees to wear something orange. I could probably have improvised with ANY other colour but that. I’m not alone – I couldn’t find anything suitable in shops, either. Finally bought a scarf with a bit of pastel orange in it.
