This is the ironic episode for DP and his brother.
Hi @WE, you should have more than 1 clock to check against… is the battery running low so the clock is slow?
The cop won’t give the information about the brother.
@WE, … it’s frustrating that DP has no means to find out where his brother is.
That father of IH is so irritating. He cannot say anything nice to his daughter. He keeps putting her down or saying negative things about IH’s and DP’s relationship. I guess he hopes to keep them apart that way.
They still keep the sneaker that DP had on when he first came.
There PHR definites clearly the character goal (his “want”), with a whole voice-over. When I think in W2, some “want” aren’t so clear because the concept is more “fish out the water”, so accident happening to someone asking for nothing.
The next bit of irony is that DP has changed his mind about him and IH both being reporters. Now he thinks that a Pinocchio cannot be a reporter.
@WE, yes this series has a great voiceover telling us what DP’s motives are, so we understand and forgive DP for his behaviour towards IH.
Before elevator: harsh speech from DP to IH. No care about a romance there, it’s the kind of harsh and surprising scene we sometimes get in kdramas (older ones), where characters aren’t green (greenlight? green-what, I don’t remember) and we can enjoy serious drama conflict that hurts.
The comic scene of IH crying all the way through her part-time job and telling her customers about her plight. I love their expressions.
It’s “comedy-crying” scene.
SHe tells her life to every costumer.
This SML comes from nowhere for almost no reason, for now I feel this guy useless in the drama.
But Ok, he want the girl, it’s his motivation.

Ruby was the one who was determined to not be picked on but she ended up in trouble with Jang anyway.
SML Seo Beom Jo is the extra voice and becomes a sidekick to In Ha.
IH’s horrible mother wants to use her for PR for MSC. Instead of coming because she cares about her daughter, she only wants to use her and she forgets it’s her birthday.
@GB, as DP is so harsh with her, she will need the help of the nice guy she friendzones. AHAH!! ^^
Coldest mother. We compare with the doting mother of Beom Jo. She’s too overly sweet and smothering.
The next bit of irony,… Beom Jo is more aware of IH’s birthday than her own mother.
Next, the birthday cake that DP gets for IH goes away and comes around to her anyway.
Damnit, there are people with Pinocchio syndrome, but they fart instead to have hiccups. LOL.

@WE, BJ says it’s fortunate that lying does not result in farts which are disgusting but hiccups which are cute.
IH has to get rid of her hiccups. So she cannot pretend to even herself that she does not like DP once she realises that she does.
I like the tear that drops from DP’s eye over this other piece of irony. He loves her and she loves him but he cannot tell her. He has to let her continue to believe in his lie. He can lie but she cannot so he discovers her liking him but she cannot discover his.
Her mother want to use her for promotion, yep it’s a bit bad, BUT AT LEAST, she doesn’t lie to her daughter. That’s still a good point for the bad mother.
The bad mother only seems to have that 1 good point. She lies in her reporting but not to her daughter. She is so cold towards her. No pretense of caring for her at all.
@GB, yes, that’s a big point of this drama, triggering emotion, the vulnerability of IH.
But you know what? I have a character in W2 with the same kind of vulnerability (not Pinocchio, but also an impossibility to hide emotions), and I didn’t used it to trigger emotions, at least not with other characters, only scenes that only the audience watch and understands. I wonder if it’s a mistake because I could use that more, however, as the story unfold, I didn’t really see any opportunity, when I was already aware of that, as I watched Pinnochio long before.
I guess it’s the result of being in a family of only men… they don’t remember her birthday either!!!
Only DP and Beom Jo do.
She’s damn cold with her daughter, not like she isn’t her daughter, but more like if her existence was a distant fact, not totally stranger, but never close, never affectionnate.
@WE, it is not easy to write in scenes that can trigger emotions in or for other characters.
We get another comedic scene with IH and BJ in a crowded lift, hearing the talk about them
I’m in the roof scene. This time IH Pinochio helps her, making sure a love confession can’t be a lie. Woo! I just put myself in DP shoes, getting that! Powerfull.
In the end, in a cruel way, it’s DP that is alone with his feeling.
It’s a great thematic: The power of sincerity. It’s like an invicible wall and mirror, confronted with sincerity, anyone else has to confront their own lies or hidden feeling.
By the way, it’s a bit something like that in Liar Game.
She can’t lie when she speaks on TV, but anyway, she can be easely manipulated, with corrupted informations they give her, and she will never know there are lies.
I don’t think grandpa will survive the drama…
